Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

I went to dinner last night here and the food was really good . Except we got the crab cake appetizer and there was barely any crab in them . So I don't recommend that . For my dinner I got the baked salmon and it was delicious . I will definitely be going back

Just picked up dinner at Gennaros. I had ordered gnocchis and sausage. The gnocchis were severely over cooked, and the sausage was a tasteless mess. Not to mention the sauce was horrid. Runny and acidy. My wife, on the other hand, said the fish she had was good. We wont be ordering from there again. ,

We have always enjoyed dining here. Food is consistently good. Their eggplant parm is my favorite anywhere. We stopped in for dinner and was surprised that it seems the prices went up (again). I don't begrudge any business owner trying to make it these days with prices going up. We have eaten here for over 10+ years and have always enjoyed it. The BYOB always saves money too. But, tonight the portion sizes were noticeably smaller. Very disappointing considering a price increase too. We had clams with white sauce over pasta and eggplant parm. The food was just as good as it always is but portions were easily half the size. Eggplant parm would come in a baking plate and a side bowl of pasta. Now it is a small portion of pasta on the same plate with eggplant parm. The eggplant parm was surprisingly small compared to past experiences. We always had leftovers but no longer....no seconds on bread either...Bummer. Still like the place but it was disappointing.

I honestly don't know WHAT to review. My husband hated it - too high priced for him and old, dated decor and "meh" food to him. Our 8 year old loved it - but she only had a $5 Bindi (pre-fab) frozen Coconut Gelato (served in a coconut shell). We love those Bindi desserts - and so does half the restaurant world! I enjoyed my food - Fettucine with Chicken in a pink sauce with a few peas (wish there were more). The dish is supposed to come with rigatoni but I asked to sub fettucine which they did. Portion was small - but the sauce is very rich so I was fine with it - even though el kiddo nabbed a good 1/3 of it! (Ha ha! She loved it here.) Oh - and the dinner rolls, while served hot, were a bit stale (sorry). The meatballs my husband had were just ok. Kinda bready. The ones I make are better (sorry, Gennaro), but the service here is better than Casa Prego. Food is about the same and some things are less expensive here and others are more. It has been in business since 1992 (according to the menu) and they need a makeover STAT. Other than that it is a quiet, family-friendly spot with classic, "old-skool" Italian-American fare circa 1974. And I kinda dig it. Won't rush back - but I will be back - so please take note - and I pray things will have improved when I do. Classic Italian American Family Friendly Medium Priced (Could argue too high on certain items, very fair on others.) Small - seats 50 max - largest table seats 6. Family run.

Was here for dinner last Saturday night and I really enjoyed it. There's nothing fancy about this place, but the food is good and it's BYOB, which I am becoming quite a fan of! With the outrageous price tag some fine dining establishments charge for cocktails, it's nice to grab a good bottle and not end up paying $100 for dinner. The wait staff was friendly, the atmosphere casual and the food came out hot and quick. Very good escarole soup. I'll be back!

I haven't been to this place in many, many years and remember it being just so-so when I was there... Wouldn't mind trying it again sometime because something has apparently been keeping them in business all these years! The parking lot is usually packed when I drive by at night...

Okay so 3.5 because the meatballs arent good and once we were served flavorless (boiled/old) sausage. They have the best vodka sauce around though and if you get it with crabmeat or chicken its really good. Also, delicious cannolis. Cant beat em! But other than that nothing special wouldnt be surprised if it was imitation crab meat. Byob but im pretty sure they have a wine selection too? We go just for the cannolis and that vodka sauce... Mmm

I have to say this place came highly recommended for the food. The food was delicious. Here's my problem. It's a BYOB, we arrived at 7:40 for dinner. At 8:55, the waitress wanted to close out our tab while we were still eating dessert. We obliged. Then she came back, took our bottle of wine out of the ice bucket and the took the bucket away. She then came back and put the cork on the wine bottle. I said, I guess it's time for us to go, she said yes, we closed at 9. It was 9:03. What a shame, I will never go back for this reason!! She was rude and never thanked us for her tip.

The decor leaves a lot to be desired because they are using a strip mall type of store front as a restaurant, so there are a wide variety of blinds and curtains in use, even an old menu is used to block a smaller window. Their menu is very small, not much variety. The food and service were good however.

I stayed away from this Italian place for a while after getting a few bad meals in a row, stale bread and saw that they changed the menu and raised the prices (I heard the owner had retired and family had taken over). But then someone told me it's back to being great...and they were right! I've been there 3 times now and the food is back to fabulous (especially the cannolis!) and the owner is back on site (Jerry). It is my new (old) favorite spot.

My wife said that she say good Yelp reviews* on Gennaro's and had wanted to try it for a while, so last night as were waiting for my daughter to finish up skating practice at Iceworks she talked me into trying it. No other way to say it, it was just plain bad. I could talk about the complete lack of ambiance and the poor service, but that would take away from the absolutely horrible food. I ordered the gnocchi with tomato sauce. When it arrived it looked like a plate of supermarket quality (not the nice supermarket stuff, rather the cruddy frozen variety) gnocchi with some Ragu or Prego on top sitting in a pool of water. One bit let me know that I was not even that lucky - it was just vile. It was sent back along with my wife's dinner. My daughter had spaghetti with Alfredo sauce that was passable but the salmon was dry and overcooked. * So I looked at the reviews that my wife had viewed - there were 3 - 2 good and one poor so obviously she had not really vetted the place.

Wonderful authentic Italian food. I love their clams with white sauce over pasta and salmon with shrimp. You will not find a better tiramisu for dessert in the US. If you don't see exactly what you want on the menu, just ask. They are very accommodating. If you like your red sauce a little spicy, just add red pepper flakes provided. BYOB

Awesome food and service. I love their Salmon. My family and friends frequent here often. We feel like we are at home when we visit. It has a very cozy atmosphere and is BYOB. The new menu is great. I absolutely love their Tiramisu and have yet to find a place that tastes better. Great times and great food!
