Stopped here around 3:30 for one of their salads to go. Got lucky in finding a parking spot just outside. No line at that time of the day so I got my salad quickly. $9.50 is a bit pricey for a salad to go but the ingredients were fresh and the avocado ripe. The salad comes with a slice of bread and the dressing on the side or mixed in, if you like. Parking can be a challenge in this area during busy hours.

as a college student, healthy options rarely are a go-to but sweetgreen (this location in particular) is always a great choice. the store itself is super clean and the service is great- went when the bread was baking, so gave up on getting any, but a thoughtful employee came over to our table and made sure we got some from the new batch! definitely will remember that. would recommend for a casual post-gym meal, or any meal for that matter. will miss this place after graduation!

Sweetgreen is solid in a lot of ways, but it just seemed to be lacking that certain luster that places have when people are happy to be at their jobs, or at least pretending for the people they're helping. I came to Sweetgreen expecting salad, and boy, were there lots of options! I got more than I had anticipated in that category. In fact, there were so many choices, I didn't know which to pick. I ended up selecting a harvest mix that had chicken, cheddar cheese, lots of fresh veggies, corn, some seeds and spring mix. The salad was made before my eyes and made from fresh ingredients. The guy that was making the salad was one of the less friendly elements of our visit, but he got the job done. My friend got a salad with lots of veggies and a very meager amount of dressing or kind of dressing and she had to go up to get a supplemental cup. They were pretty nice about that, at least. The place was kept in relatively good order, but we were bothered by fruit flies during our entire meal which was unnerving to say the least. The verdict is: good food, lots of healthy options, ok service, and maybe get take out or sit outdoors to avoid tiny flies.

Sweetgreen is a go-to for a quick, healthy meal. The salads can be inconsistent (amount of ingredients, amount of dressing, availability). However, the fact that Sweetgreen offers such unique ingredients makes up for its downfalls. Try adding the soba noodles and Parmesan crisps to any salad. You won't be disappointed! The seed mix is another favorite...use as one of the four ingredients in a custom salad.

I like this location of Sweetgreen. It seems to be getting a bad rep. from other yelpers...but I don't see where the problem is. The food is good, the service is fast and friendly, and you can eat outside when it's nice out. It's not the most amazing experience I've ever had...but when you are craving a fresh salad with fresh ingredients it is the place to go in the area. Overall I'm a fan. Sweetgreen's current seasonal salad is a must have: Maryland crab Kale Green and red peppers Corn Sunflower seeds Avocado (that has been surprisingly ripe & perfect every time I've gotten it from here) Carrot chili vinaigrette.

I really do want to like this food. I would also love to chalk up my misfortune to my error or some other factor, yet when I put together the sum of the mistakes I realize it is a non or misunderstanding of the ingredients. This is a crucial mistake to make considering the ideal the business is trying to promote. The kale was served completely raw, which makes it significantly less palatable than if it were blanched or even bruised. This is in my opinion a crucial mistake. Further more the beets were also raw, lending more to their starch than to their sugar. These were tasty if your a beethead, yet only if you are overlooking the texture. the carrots were not traditionally matchstick cut, but were large chunks of carrot, almost inch by inch squares. Strange, to say the least. Ultimately I cant fork with their carrots and their carrots are not to be forked. Last, but not least. mistreatment of cilantro an parsley. While i enjoy rustic use of herbs, I was not. fan of how how the cilantro (stem still attached) was merely ripped into pieces and tossed in. I know that the majority of flavor is in the stem, but that potentially made random bites overwhelming with the herb, thank god I am obsessed with cilantro, I could tell my girlfriend was more offended than I when attempting to enjoy her salad. The dressings, awesome. They are well balanced, well conceived and basically on point all around. There are a lot to choose from, I recommend trying the Agave Dijon. While I love the concept as well as the location, I won't be returning in the forseeable future. And not because of the service, which was solid, but for the simple fact that I refuse to spend money on a salad that can be executed better if done at home. I will however, be making agave Dijon dressing from now on, so I guess I owe you a star....reflected above.

Sweetgreen is great for intense clean-livers and veggie types. Not so much for me. I love salad and will happily have only that for lunch but Sweetgreen's offering just didn't fill me up. I was desperate for a dressing that could fatten the salad up and give it some extra flavor -- a blue cheese dressing...maybe a ranch -- but the only varieties offered were oil or vinegar based. Sweetgreen also recently got rid of soda pop which could bother some folks who want to be a little nutritionally naughty. After my $10 lunch left me hungry, I went home and made a co-jack grilled cheese sandwich.

I love Sweetgreen! They are quick and a healthier option as far as take-out goes. I also like how they try to be organic when they can as well as looking for local ingredients first before outsourcing. The workspace appears to be clean and they offer outdoor seating which is nice on warmer days. I've been here several times since they've opened and they are frequently out of wraps around Sunday's and Monday's - therefore, I have to take one star away. At first I figured it was acceptable when they had just opened, but it is no longer... They should be able to manage their orders now and should increase their supply to meet their demand. Other then that, they're great!

The food is decent but they are getting one star because of there customer service. I have tried to use my gift card there twice. They couldn't figure out how to do it! Both times multiple people tried to redeem my gift card but they couldn't figure it out. Instead I had to pay with cash and keep my gift card which apparently is unusable. Why do they sell gift cards if the employees aren't trained on how to ring them up. Now I have a $10 gift card just sitting around because no one in the store can figure out how to put it into the system. Will Definitely not be going back for this reason.

Sweetgreen is on my repertoire of workday lunch options as a maker of quick, healthy, and generally tasty salads. If you've been to any salad joint, you'd be pretty familiar with Sweetgreen's set-up. They offer a menu of signature salads, and of course, patrons are welcomed to customize their own. Ingredient highlights include: * Raw kale * Awesome roasted broccoli * Roasted tofu * Roasted sweet potatoes * Baked falafel * Complimentary, delicious wheat bread! Everything else is pretty standard. Additionally, Sweetgreen sources a nice list of local veggies, meats, and cheeses, which is always good to see. One curious menu item is their raw beats. I love beats--love 'em raw, love 'em cooked, love 'em pickled. But of the lot, raw are clearly the worst, and Sweetgreen ONLY HAS RAW. Quite simply, raw beets are hard to eat with a recycled fork, which brings me to my next point... Listen, Sweetgreen, I appreciate your recycling efforts, but your forks don't work. They're worthless. They're dull, they bend, they break. Very annoying. I actually brought my own fork last time I went to Sweetgreen. No one should have to do this. Another thing to be aware of is that an in-house order will be significantly bigger than a to-go. It's just how Sweetgreen rolls. As a healthy workday lunch option, Sweetgreen is solid. That's about it.

You cant compare this location with University City. A few months ago I wrote a review for University City and it was the best salad ever but then I came to the Ardmore location twice and I was dissapointed both times. The portions are smaller, the ingredients dont look as fresh, the place looks dirtier and the service is bad. I cant believe that when you order a $12 salad to go they dont even give you a plastic bag for your salad, they just hand you the container. Also today their Level up service was down so I had to pay with cash and could not accumulate the rewards for my purchase. If you want a great experience at Sweetgreen make sure you visit University City and not Ardmore.

Okay, t'll admit this is a "go to" place for those times we just can't face making dinner. The salads are really good, and it feels good that they support local producers. The 3-star review is purely service related. To start with, the people behind the counter can't seem to move customers through the line. I mean, come on, everything is pre-cut. All they're doing is throwing scoops of stuff into a bowl and tossing it with dressing. It really shouldn't take as long as it does to get a salad. Also, our last couple of visits, I've been ordering my meal as a wrap. Talk about disaster. The staff are simply incapable of assembling a wrap that doesn't fall apart at first bite.

Overpriced and not very friendly. Should offer better fountain-healthy choice?? Need to lower prices.

I really like the idea of Sweetgreen- more so than I actually liked my food, surprisingly- but I think that that may have been a one-time thing and would like to give them another chance if I'm ever in the area again. They offer a bunch of different salad options and also allow you to design your own from scratch, which they make right in front of you. I came here with a big group of people and half really liked their food, and the other half weren't crazy about it, which I think depends so much on what you order. I ended up with a stomach ache because the person making my salad put too much dressing on it and it was very acidic, but other than that, I liked it. The portions are huge- you probably will not be able to finish your salad- so the not-so-cheap prices (about $10/salad, it seems) are sort of justified. I just like that they offer just about any topping you could want, in addition to a nice selection of lettuce and dressing options. You can also get your salad in the form of a wrap. Everything was extremely fresh, and it accommodated everyone's dietary needs, including my vegan friend. I think this is a very cool concept, although there are things that could be improved- for instance, why not make the portions a little smaller and charge less? Also, I imagine that it would get very crowded around lunchtime, so I would anticipate waiting in line for a bit, although the food prep was very quick.

Beats SaladWorks hands down. Came in for a late, late lunch after a visit to Buckman's ski store and the kitchen store next door. Perhaps the fact they weren't busy had something to do with it, but I had the entire staff eager to wait on me. And as in all places where the preparation table is in front of me, I direct the preparation of the item, and if they need to charge extra, so be it. Wonderful salad, probably I should have called it the United Nations because it had a little bit of everything. Friendly staff and plenty of thirst-quenching drinks. Loved it!

I visited Sweetgreen today for lunch and I don't know if I'm imagining it but I believe they made their to-go salad containters smaller. I ate the entire thing in one sitting and could never do that before. The container appears smaller too. If I can only get one meal out of the salad, then it's too pricey for me! Has anyone else noticed that?

  • Megan K.

I've been here twice. I love the fresh, local ingredients. The salads are delicious and a I always feel good when I am eating local, organic foods. Its a bit pricey, but that's what you get when you are eating along the main line. I will continue to go here for good, fresh salads.

  • Vikki S.

Haven't been here much since their salads are way overpriced, but I was missing the yogurt with chocolate chips topping, so I went back a few weeks ago for the first time in probably a year. Experience was fine. I've been back twice since, just for yogurt, and both times the place has been gross. Crumbs still on tables, floors unswept, toppings bar area messy. It's just really unpleasant to eat there. The staff is also hit or miss. Some are friendly and generous, others barely give you the time of day. This place needs some serious customer service training, primarily focusing on cleanliness. In North Carolina, food establishments are graded on their cleanliness and must post their grade publicly so customers can see it. Most places are in the 95-100 range. Sweetgreen would get a 60 and go out of business.

This place is like Saladworks on steroids. * Awesome ingredients * Changes with the seasons * Local ingredients * Great starter recipe salads * OK prices * Nice atmosphere for essentially a "fast food" place

  • David G.

Eat outside and definitely have the Cobb salad! but beware! They are pricey. 26 bucks for 2 salads and 2 waters. They are good for an occasional non guilty pleasure but I wouldn't eat there every day.

I feel like this is the kind of place that will get all the main line moms all in a tizzy...they will line up in their yoga pants to get some of this trendy new restaurant's goods...or greens. Man this place IS SO trendy...even their logo is in lower caps and they even flip one of the e's around to make it cuter. The inside is clean and modern. The ingredients are fresh and often local. And even with all this trendiness, it seems that sweet greens still focuses on the classic basics...good service and good food. I popped in on a Tuesday evening (no lines, no waiting) and went for the month's featured salad...if you get a chance to get there soon, I would. The salad had turkey, roasted squash, kale, almonds, and cranberry vinaigrette. The gentleman who helped me was more than friendly. When I mentioned I didn't like the fresh mushrooms that were supposed to come on the salad, he suggested I try cauliflower as a good substitute. Good choice. The salad came to about $9, but I had enough for two meals. The salad itself was delicious, though I wish there was more turkey since it was the best part. I will be sure to go back again, especially since they feature a monthly salad. They have fro yo, which will be a tasty treat in the warmer months. As people start on their new years resolutions to be healthier and smarter in their eating habits, I hope they find their way to Sweetgreen.

The food is fine, but the servers were MISERABLE. The woman next to me specified she wanted her salad to go. When the man didnt do it, she asked nicely again...he literally slammed down the bowl and groaned, then walked away muttering to himself. It was absurd.

Decent food, terrible staff. First and foremost, as someone who has been in the food/nutrition industry for years, I know presentation is everything. That being said this place is filthy. The bathrooms had no toilet paper and certainly were not kept up with. The floor behind the counter (where the employees are standing) had almost a lb of salad on the floor. BASIC SANITATION= clean as you go.... So in going to pay I see the cashier area is also filthy. As an FPP you know when it's momentarily dirty and when it just hasn't been cleaned. This is the latter.... The pictures will collaborate my story ;) For a small wrap with extra chicken (which i had to beg for a full ounce of) it was $12.50. Lettuce be serious... If you are in the mood for a wrap, go to The Couch Tomato in Manayunk.

Yummy salad!! This is the place that introduced "pesto" into my salad.. I would've never tried that wonderful creation. But from here on out, I need that in my salads :) And my daughter added craisins, which made it extra "yummy".

  • Suzy G.

A little pricey for salad, but the one I tried was more like a meal, and afterwards, I was quite satisfied. The salads are quite tasty, but the staff seemed a bit miserable. A smile won't kill you! Also the tables were a bit messy and the trash cans were so full, that you couldn't throw anything more into them. If I don't come back, its not because of the food.

I called at 8:50pm to order a pick up wrap after the gym, going off the yelp information that they closed at 10pm. The woman who answered the phone was super nice, asked me if i'd be there soon because they were about to close, then helped me decide what ingredients to pick. Turns out they closed at 9, I got there 5 off, wrap was ready, cost me about 6.50 ( that's the chic p wrap minus the falafel- which happens to be cheaper thanks to the generous employee info! ) nice people and good, healthy food! What's not to like?

  • Harper S.

This place is FAB! Everything is fresh and delicious! One other great thing...all their cutlery is compostable! The spoons, knives, forks! One downside is the seating. There's not enough of it. They get a big lunch rush. So, if you want to sit and talk - that probably isn't the best time of day to go. Nothing wrong other than that! I'll be visiting them again! Yummmmm

    (5)
  • Bob S.

I have been here around 5 times since they opened and I must say that that they are consistent - which is half the battle with most restaurants in the Philadelphia area. Their service is generally good and their food is fresh and delicious. Even though they are revamping their loyalty card program - I remain pleased. However when I was there last the yogurt machine broke down. Bummer. So I will be back to taste their frozen yogurt.

Holy crap! Sweetgreen - you are broadening the otherwise poor salad bar choice horizon of Philadelphia! Thank you for coming to Ardmore. I just discovered you a few weeks ago in Suburban Square, and I'm in love. Finally a REAL salad bar without staged salads on display that look like they've been sitting in saran wrap for days (thanks, Saladworks). The ingredients are vast and locally sourced, organic...fresh unique veggies, fruits, nuts and proteins, tons of them to choose from. They have suggested salads to guide you, and you can add/change whatever you'd like. I had a take on a mexican-type avocado-like salad with this spicy lime vineagrette that rocked my taste buds (yeah I said that). I added some seasoned shrimp, and that took it to the next level. Say what you will about the price, because it is definitely a little more than your typical salad bar, but not by much. I'll gladly pay for a great product from an environmentally conscious company. All plastic and utensils here are compost-able...neat-o! Please open more locations, Sweetgreen. We need more yummy, healthy options for lunch in Philly!

Discarding the fact that salads are pretty boring, it's neat that this place lets you build your own salad with a variety of FRESH local ingredients. It's refreshing that the lettuce/spinach/greens are still crunchy and full of life without those tell-tale age spots that so often afflicts DIY-with-the-help-of-the-person-behind-the-counter salad/wrap joints. But the real treat is the frozen yogurt. Perfectly smooth. Perfectly tart. Perfectly mellow. There's something classy about this single flavored treat. Enjoy it plain or with some toppings you delude yourself into thinking are healthy including granola, dark chocolate mini chips and dried cranberries. (3 Stars is my personal bias...I just can't get amped about salads period.)

    (3)
  • Zachary W.

Very good salads that are custom-made to order. All of the ingredients are very fresh as well, great place. The frozen yogurt comes with various toppings and is very good as well.

  • Erica M.

Yum! Healthy, fresh, and good selection. I got the curry chicken salad and my boyfriend got the avocado and chicken salad in a wrap. Both were delicious. Prices are a bit steep, in my opinion...$10 for a wrap in a restaurant that doesn't have table service. I wish they had more low-fat dressing options, too. But I would definitely go back!

I just had lunch here earlier this afternoon, and it was pretty good. I've been here twice before and was a little less impressed, mainly because the service seemed less than friendly and everything from the seating area to the food prep seemed dirty and covered in food. Today's experience redeemed my opinion of this place though, nicer staff and much cleaner. This place has potential, but they need to work on their consistency, which is critical in any food establishment. Pros -the salads are really good, I like all the combination options -strong emphasis on healthy, organic, local foods Cons -staff can be unfriendly or at the very least, standoffish -need to clean the tables more frequently -I've also noticed they seem to skimp a little on certain ingredients, such as the chicken in the cesar salad

My wife wanted to try Sweetgreen out, so we stopped in for a quick lunch. The ingredients are very good. Everything was very fresh, and the shrimp in my wrap were excellent. The menu was pretty boring. I got a "Guacamole greens" wrap with shrimp. It sounds great, except it doesn't have guacamole. There were a few bits of avocado, but thats about it. My wife had the salad of the day, and again the ingredients were good, but the result was pretty lackluster. A bag of chips would of been a great item to go with my wrap, but the only thing available was bread. The drink options were also lacking as well. A soda machine, overpriced water, and iced tea. I wanted an ices tea, but they didn't have any normal green or iced tea. Everything was some sort of flavored tea. This place hits all the right buzzwords (local, vegan, organic, etc, etc) but the menu comes up short. The layout is slow, because they only ever seem to have one person actually making salads. I couldn't imagine trying to go here for a lunch on a busy day, it would take forever.

  • alexandra c.

The food is good. The staff are terrible. Surly and rude. As if you could not be inconveniencing them more by patronizing their establishment. They leave ingredients out and act as if it's your fault when they don't have some ingredients. Don't even try to come in the half hour before they close. Otherwise come to get a delicious healthy salad served with a generous side of bad attitude. Maybe the one in University City is better?

  • Amanda C.

This is fairly pathetic to admit, but this place has been open only a few weeks and I am coming close to not being able to count on both hands how many times I've been there. Since moving to the main line from nyc two years ago, I've been desperate for a good place to get a quick salad. Yeah, Salad Works does NOT cut it. I love this place. The food is good and fresh and creative--spicy fried kale? fresh beets? quinoa? awesome dressings? Definitely what I was waiting for. Downsides: not enough tables, the ridiculous uniform of yoga pants and black puffy North Face jackets that EVERYONE in the damn place wears, the soda machine that does not have diet soda (the soda is good but too sweet for me), and the price tag ($11 for a salad??? YIKES!). On the other hand, I love that you can substitute anything if you don't like what they put in the salad. And the staff are very nice (although at this point I think I'm on a first-name basis with most of them). Great addition to Suburban Square.

  • Ritu K.

This place is just one big hot mess. Ingredients and dressing littered the food counters, the workers didn't seem to have a clue as to what ingredients were actually in their wraps and salads, and my wrap just sucked. Not to mention that the shrimp left me with a not so fresh feeling. Not to divulge too much of the horror, but lets just say I was ill all day long. As a special treat lunch for two horrid wraps and drinks was close to $25... There must be better "healthy" food options in Ardmore?

For Christmas, I received a $25 Sweetgreen gift card, so I treated a friend to lunch. I got the Guacamole greens with shrimp & a lemonade. My friend got the Caesar reggiano with chicken, and a bottled water. The bill was $25.97, but when I reached for an extra dollar, the cashier said, "don't worry about it." Wha?! Very cool. My salad was huge & delicious (and I ate it ALL)! The lemonade was good, too, although next time I'll ask for extra ice. Thanks, Sweetgreen! I'll be back, and will spend my own money next time!

This place is great! Simple, fresh, healthy food. Yes, it's trendy, and crowded, but there's a reason why. When this place puts Plate out of business (which I don't think will take more than six months), Sweetgreen should move into the larger storefront across the street. Then it will earn a full five stars from me!

  • texas w.

Nothing new here. I'm sure they'll do fine with the stay at home stroller set, but there is truly nothing remarkable about this place. The interior is plucked out of a cookie cutter "trying to look hip and modern" design guide. The truth is it lacks any real character. It's essentially a great excuse for mainliners to drop $8-$13 on a salad you could make for $2. It's also a very slow process so be prepared to wait. The staff is all high school kids who couldn't even answer the simplest question like, "what makes the organic ceaser, organic." Like I said, I'm sure they'll do just fine, given their demographic and location, but I had to stop myself from yawning while munching on my salad. The ingredients appear to be fresh and it's nice that they make it in front of you but I don't think I'll ever eat there again.

Really enjoy their salads and frozen yogurt with fresh fruit, kale chips! Staff friendly and helpful. Cafeteria style with option to bring meal to tables outside. Based on the selection, flavor, freshness and local ingredients: five stars.

This is my new favorite lunch spot. The menu has plenty of options, with two vegan items clearly labeled. My favorite is the Chic-P, with a side of the Crispy Kale. Can beat it for a great, healthy lunch.

Nice place to have a quick lunch if you are in the area. The salads are all fresh, local, organic, and taste good. Its a little on the expensive side but I guess its cause its local and organic. My favorite salad that i like to get from here is the spicy sabzi, you can also create your own if you arent really into their signature ones. This is a healthy choice to have a lunch or dinner.

What a nice addition to Suburban Square! I had the "curry gold" salad which was just delicious ( a combination of chicken, dried cranberries, roasted beets, almonds and cucumbers). You can add or subtract items from the standard salads- I added the locally sourced organic apples which were yummy! The salads are very generous portions. Make sure you ask for "heavy" dressing. Staff is super-friendly! You can also get frozen yogurt with fresh toppings- a healthy snack if you are out shopping and don't have time for a whole meal. The location is very convenient, near the Chico's. It always seems to have a ton of customers, so they must be doing something right!

Obsessed. Don't come here if you're looking for a cheap, processed fast good-type meal. Although they are quick, their ingredients are fresh and fantastic. They even ask you how much dressing you want. I'm not a calorie counter, but I do enjoy putting healthy things in my body. This place is fantastic. Yes, they're a little pricey. But it's worth it. The frozen yogurt is amazing too. It's delightfully tart and the topping are stellar.

  • Lain E.

Man. This place is great. After TCBY closed, there weren't any places in Suburban Square to grab a quick snack while shopping. And now! Fresh unsweetened froyo and salads, with seasonal and local toppings, everything to satisfy your hunger in the most guilt-free way possible. Also, all their packaging is compostable. (Actually, all this guilt-freeness makes me feel kind of guilty... which is ironic.) When we went in for froyo, the guy behind the counter was beyond friendly, even making us a shot-sized sample of yogurt that he sweetened with agave and freshly squeezed lime. The yogurt we ended up getting - topped with apple butter, cinnamon baked apples, and chocolate chips - was tart, just enough sweet, and made with the exact right ratio of yogurt to toppings. We didn't try the salads or soups, but, yeah. I'm going shopping hungry from now on. I hear they're opening stores in University City and Northern Liberties, too!

It's salad. It's fresh, and there are plenty of toppings to choose from, along with some solid suggestions. The dressings I've had have all been really good, and you can get a slice of a nice brown bread on the side. Some of the servers could lose the attitude, and they're skimpy with the frozen yogurt (although it's easily the best frozen yogurt I've ever had, including Red Mango and Yapple in Wynnewood). It's expensive, but you're paying for a nice, large, fresh salad, so it's not outrageous.

I stopped into Sweetgreen with a friend for Friday lunch. When we walked in most of the tables were full of people enjoying their meals, so I took this as a good sign. The place isn't very large, but we were lucky enough to snag two bar seats facing a window looking out to the stores across the street. I had the Bondi salad which came with an Asian dressing, mixed greens, wasabi peas, corn, chicken and hearts of palm. I don't eat avocado, which normally would come with the salad, but even without it, the salad was delish! My friend had the salad special of the day which came with falafel and looked very yummy as well. I wish I had enough room for the fro-yo, but there was no room to spare. I liked the wooden bowls and eco-friendly flatware and cups they used. Definitely a nice addition to suburban square.

I love using Yelp to help me navigate the world of food, so I feel compelled to review Sweetgreen Ardmore. After reading some of the other reviews here, I just have to say this place isn't what the reviews make it out to be on here. I work in the area and go here at least once a week. They must have changed things since some of the reviewers were here in 2012, the place is always clean and the staff is always friendly to me. Yes, every once in a while the staff is a little annoyed at the world. Ok, check it, in the summer there is usually a line of 15+ people and every single one of them makes a huge annoying process out of ordering a salad... it's a salad people.... half the people get up to place you order and THEN look at the menu and THEN realize they don't know what the heck they want and THEN they want to argue that avocado is extra and THEN they want to taste every single dressing before choosing the most boring one and getting it on the side. I once saw a customer rip apart one of the workers because she wouldn't try the dairy based salad dressing that "tasted funny" and insisted she get her money back after eating the entire salad. Then we have people who complain because they can't make a salad into two full meals? Come on now kids, it's a salad not a rack of ribs. Pros -Fresh stuff -Locally sourced -Good variety that changes with seasons -Options for vegans, vegetarians, paleo peeps, and even people who eat everything and then some -Everything can be customized (adds to wait time, but hey it's still a pro) -You can bring your own drink or water if you don't want to buy it there Cons -Expensive if you are crazy with your salad toppings and drank selections ($2.25 for a quarter cup of chicken is just not worth it to me) -Have to deal small groups or couples and/or soccer moms who take up entire tables meant for groups of people -Can take a long time to get waited on because people can't order a salad without being annoying Tips -A build your own salad with 4 toppings, dressing and bread is $6.35 and they will give you a free water cup (Extra for cheese, egg, chicken, avo, etc but you don't really need that stuff to feel full here IMO) -Kids meals available and pretty darn cute

Nothing spectacular but not bad if you want to grab a healthyish lunch. Line can get really, really long, and the people behind the counter aren't that quick. Two salads/bowls and two drink will run you about $22.

I used to love Sweetgreen. We got a couple of take-out salads today expecting them to be as good as usual. Unfortunately they weren't. Not only didn't they seem fresh, but we couldn't get them as wraps like we used to. Plus, they didn't come with bread as before. They also no longer feature the sheek-pea (not sure of spelling) salad, which used to be my favorite.

I love sweet green! Its the healthier, better quality salad works. The ingredients are always so fresh and the options are delicious. The only downside is the price, but its expected for these kinds of restaurants, so I don't mind all that much.

Visited: Monday - April 13, 2013 - 1:30 PM I usually create my salad bowl with ingredients of my choosing but today the Rad Thai beckoned; Rad Thai - organic arugula + organic mesclun, sprouts, carrots, shredded cabbage, spicy sunflower seeds, cucumbers, basil, citrus shrimp, spicy cashew dressing. An employee assembled the salad quickly then asked if how much of the dressing I'd like. She began pouring then stopped when I requested. She also poured an additional amount into a small take-out container. Bread was evident with a few patrons lunch order. I had none. I ate inside although outside seating is available. The salad was flavored packed and refreshing.

Honestly nothing gets better than this. The best seasonal salad kitchen around. Amazing customer service, amazing quality ingredients, and perfect tastes. I always make my own but the seasonally rotating salads always hit the spot too. + Guacamole Greens and Spicy Sabzi are two staples that are totally worth going back to here and there. Definitely try it out. You won't regret it!

As a frequent patron of Suburban Square, I had walked by this restaurant many times before. My friend finally dragged me in for lunch one day, as I wouldn't normally opt for a salad place. The first thing I noticed when walking in was how fresh the produce looked. Where are they purchasing from?? The employees were very friendly, but incredibly slow. No one seemed alarmed, even though the line nearly reached the entrance. Maybe it's always crowded here. Still, it ended up being worth it in the end. I immediately went for the Rad Thai and it was phenomenal. I couldn't believe how big the salad was, and the price was right. Love their fresh tea and lemonade choices as well. Overall, this is a lovely place to sit outside and chat over some fresh and yummy greens. Just be careful if you're in a hurry!

Officially done with this place. Went for early dinner and it just wasn't good. Mushy, overly green lettuce and cucumbers had weird after taste. Basically I ended up picking out the six shrimp and tossing the rest. Won't be back.

I love love love Sweetgreen and their make your own salads. I could do without the crazy upcharge for tofu or a 5th vegetable, but it's fresh and consistent and the competition can't touch their quality. This location has gone downhill a bit since they opened, and service depends on how busy they are (like adding a random ingredient - and something I'm allergic too - needing to remake it and then doing the same thing...), but I'm so glad there's a location near by! I'm thinking about starting a campaign to bring back the spicy pickles.

The first Sweetgreen to migrate North of the Mason-Dixon, I was here with a comrade in salad-love (Is that even a thing?) the day of their soft-opening. We've come here many a-time since! The expansive salad bar is tempting, even for more carnivorous types. There's always something to please anyone here--you can even make your salad a hearty wrap too. The frozen yogurt, when available, is delightful because it's actual yogurt (think tart!) with simple toppings like dark chocolate chips, fresh granola, and berries. The dressing variety is really applaudable, as is the option to apply as little or as much as you'd prefer! A really great option for fast-casual or take-out without the usual unhealthiness.

Sweetgreen located in Suburban Square is one of the little hot spots people tend to flock to. I am not a salad person myself, I am of a carnivore breed, meat is my crave. Now mind you they do have some pretty big bowls they sell, and yes they do offer chicken that can be added to your salad. They have some pretty interesting toppings you can add , with what seems to be pretty fresh. So if you are wondering on the freshness factor, no fear it does look fresh. Again I didn't come here for roughage, or rabbit food one might say. I came in for the frozen yogurt they have offer. This is different from other fro-yo environments in the area. Sweetgreen has one serving station operated by an employee, where others have multiple options open to the customer. They have one flavor, where others have a half a dozen for your pleasures. Their topping options doesn't have that wide variety as other locations would have about 10-15 different options. While others offer you flavors , they provide one in plain. It is a organic plain tart yogurt with toppings you can choose from. They have 2 sizes when it comes to cups small or large, with your choice of 3 toppings. They do provide a cone also if your not into the cup thing. I suggest going with the smaller toppings, chocolate chips, smaller fruits, toasted coconut, almonds, etc.. The larger ones are few , and take up some space, which makes it harder to keep in the cup when you are stirring, and mixing. You can be daring and just go plain if you wish, that tarty taste is addictive. Sweetgreen was clean, with a helpful staff. They also have counter window seating, plenty of tables inside. A nice little healthy joint located in here , makes for a great after work out treat. Good location with the walking traffic that Suburban Square offers them. Good stuff here, too bad salads aren't my thing though.

Didn't know what to expect when I came here. Was meeting up with a very good/old friend and she took me here. Apparently it was opened by bunch of computer guys, its All organic, local grown, all the products, including the utensils are biodegradable. They had wraps as well as salads. You could pick from the board, or make your own. I got the beach ***, it has wasabi peas, artichoke hearts, mixed greens, arugala,it was Great! For additional .75 you could add chicken or shrimp. It is nice healthy choice, but it will set you back around $9.50 or more with drink.

I've had two experiences at Sweet Green. 1) The place was open about a month or so and my oldest asked if we could go try it out. Sure, why not? We open the door at 7:58 pm. The guy behind the counter immediately says "We're closed" without even looking at us. Apparently, they close at 8. No "I'm sorry but we're closed", no "Unfortunately we're closed.". Just simply "We're closed." Given that there were a couple of people still in the shop and the relative new-ness, I was shocked that they didn't try to squeeze in a couple of extra frozen yogurt sales. Especially because my iPhone indicated that it wasn't even 8 yet (I had to double check after we were thrown out). 2) It had been a boycotted shop based on the prior experience, but last week, my oldest asked again since she still hadn't gotten to try it out. Ok, why not? The frozen yogurt is unique -- it's made from real yogurt and is tart like real yogurt. You can add sweet toppings to make it more dessert-like, but the underlying flavor is tart. It was interesting. I wouldn't classify it was something that is good in a conventional sense for a dessert, but is was refreshing. There were also people eating salads, but we didn't partake. Overall a 1 for the first experience coupled with a 3 for the product that they're selling averages out to a round 2.

Yes, this place is trendy--both in clientele and in ownership--but the food is legitimately good. One would think that ordering salads would get boring after a while, but there's a lot of variety and the ingredients are fresh (both in origin and in preparation). Yes, it's a little pricey (since, really, you're paying for a bunch of lettuce), but you are paying for good ingredients (often organic and/or local) and for large portions. I'm not sure what planet a former reviewer is from that complained about the portion sizes, but a single salad often lasts me for at least two meals. The frozen yogurt is delightfully tart and not loaded with sugar like most frozen yogurt places. And there are lots of interesting options for toppings as well (the sweet potato is surprisingly good). Speaking of sugar, in addition to the lemonades and other drinks made in the store (definitely try the mint lemonade), the fountain sodas are made by Boylan (I think--or a company like them), which uses cane sugar in their drinks instead of high-fructose corn syrup. Since a restaurant devoted to serving healthy food (salads) that is also environmentally-conscious (using local ingredients, etc) has made at least one concession to the typical American diet that demands something sweet and sugary, I don't personally see why the fact they don't have diet sodas is a problem. The entire point is not to use the artificial sweeteners that makes a diet soda "diet" and the concept of this place is probably lost to those who think that a "diet" soda is really good for your "diet". For everyone else that wants a legitimately non-boring yet still healthy salad, this is definitely the place to go.

I was back home on the Main LIne and checked out Suburban Square and was happy to see a new addition. The list of local growers got me hooked. I got a salad, which I built, and it was fresh and delicious and the people were very helpful. I talked my friend into getting a wrap so I could try that and it was just as yummy. We topped it off with lemondae and Fro yo with lots of good toppings. The prices were reasonable, the staff nice, and I liked how eco conscious they were without being too in your face about it. It is a Dc chain that is now up to 7 spots and I hope they come out to LA soon! With salads like this I might actually get in shape for bathing suit weather.

Overall I really like this place. It's a nice healthy on the go alternative to fast food and ice cream however I've been grossed out the past few times I have been in there. As I watch them make my food I watch tons of gnats and fruit flies land on the produce cheeses and on the glass. I cam understand the occasional fly or 2 but the amount I've seen lately borders on infestation. Just an FYI for sweetgreen... They do sell traps for that kind of thing

I went three times during the first few weeks it was open. Found a fly in my salad. Also each time I went, I ordered the same salad with a shrimp add on. I was charged a different amount on each visit!

I've been here twice. I love the fresh, local ingredients. The salads are delicious and a I always feel good when I am eating local, organic foods. Its a bit pricey, but that's what you get when you are eating along the main line. I will continue to go here for good, fresh salads.

A little pricey for salad, but the one I tried was more like a meal, and afterwards, I was quite satisfied. The salads are quite tasty, but the staff seemed a bit miserable.

This place is FAB! Everything is fresh and delicious! One other great thing...all their cutlery is compostable! The spoons, knives, forks! One downside is the seating. There's not enough of it. They get a big lunch rush. So, if you want to sit and talk - that probably isn't the best time of day to go. Nothing wrong other than that! I'll be visiting them again! Yummmmm

  • Erica M.

This place is great! Simple, fresh, healthy food. Yes, it's trendy, and crowded, but there's a reason why. When this place puts Plate out of business (which I don't think will take more than six months), Sweetgreen should move into the larger storefront across the street. Then it will earn a full five stars from me!

I called at 8:50pm to order a pick up wrap after the gym, going off the yelp information that they closed at 10pm. The woman who answered the phone was super nice, asked me if i'd be there soon because they were about to close, then helped me decide what ingredients to pick. Turns out they closed at 9, I got there 5 off, wrap was ready, cost me about 6.50 ( that's the chic p wrap minus the falafel- which happens to be cheaper thanks to the generous employee info! ) nice people and good, healthy food! What's not to like?

This place is FAB! Everything is fresh and delicious! One other great thing...all their cutlery is compostable! The spoons, knives, forks! One downside is the seating. There's not enough of it. They get a big lunch rush. So, if you want to sit and talk - that probably isn't the best time of day to go. Nothing wrong other than that! I'll be visiting them again! Yummmmm

Very good salads that are custom-made to order. All of the ingredients are very fresh as well, great place. The frozen yogurt comes with various toppings and is very good as well.

This place is great! Simple, fresh, healthy food. Yes, it's trendy, and crowded, but there's a reason why. When this place puts Plate out of business (which I don't think will take more than six months), Sweetgreen should move into the larger storefront across the street. Then it will earn a full five stars from me!

I've been here twice. I love the fresh, local ingredients. The salads are delicious and a I always feel good when I am eating local, organic foods. Its a bit pricey, but that's what you get when you are eating along the main line. I will continue to go here for good, fresh salads.
