Sebastianelli's is a casual roadside family restaurant serving lunch and dinner. They also operate a seafood market across the parking lot. The place feels old school like the 1990s here with three spacious full service dining rooms. The center dining area (front entrance) has tile floors, counter stool seating, and wooden booths along the front windows, plus the salad bar/buffet station. The menu offerings include steaks, fresh seafood, chicken, chops, pasta, comfort dishes, sandwiches, burgers, salads, soups, appetizers, and desserts. The prices are moderate, sandwiches $4-$5, sandwich plates $7-$8, most dinner entrees $10-$20. I stopped in here for a dinner break on my way from Scranton to Carbondale. I sat myself in the center dining room where other customers were already dining. I decided on the Linguine with White Clam Sauce ($14) served with salad bar and bread (carve your own). The salad bar had around 20 items including greens, garnishes, dressings, cold salads, cottage cheese, long Italian bread loaf, and homemade cranberry bread (yummy!). My entree came out quickly, a good sized very hot portion. The linguine was cooked just right tossed with plenty of chopped and minced clams, garlic cloves, seasonings, and oil. This dish was very tasty and filling. I had some of my dinner boxed for the road and passed on the offer for dessert. Back on the road in 30 minutes!

Until eating here, I have never laughed out loud from eating such horrid tasting food. We started off by ordering the Calamari. It came out pretty quick, with some weird jalapeño pepper sauce? I'm literally not sure what it was, except disgusting. The calamari was the blandest thing I've ever eaten. The lack of taste was actually impressive. Moving onto my dinner, I ordered the fried shrimp, buttered and flied. Not only did it taste old, but it was barely edible. It came with a side of fries, which obviously came from Sam's club. Now I've had great and not so great fried shrimp in my life, but I have never had a problem finishing my plate. On a side note, the service was great but I will never be back.

My husband and I have been all over the country and we eat out quite a bit. That said, the meal we experienced here was the worst one either of us had ever had. The waitress acted like we were taking her away from something she'd rather be doing. I know the feeling, but you have to be an actor if you are in costumer service. The calamari was tasteless and was accompanied by an odd sauce. I can't even describe it. A woman behind the counter stared at me the entire time I was at the salad bar, it was rather uncomfortable and awkward. My gnocchi was seemed almost uncooked. They were inedible. My husband couldn't eat but a few bites of his dinner, either. We both felt nauseated for the rest of the night. Oh, and they haven't updated the decor since the 60's or so. When I tease my husband too much or get on his nerves he now threatens to make me eat at Sebastionelli's! HORRID. Somebody call Kitchen Nightmares. It is perfect for the show.

While visiting family in the area we stopped here for breakfast. We were greeted rather coolly, with a sit anywhere. It did not get much better from there. The waitress came over and gave us our menu's and took our drink orders. When she was speaking to me she would not even look at me. She would only look at my husband. Same when she took our food order. It was so odd. Our food arrives and it was typical breakfast fare. It was just very bland. I had to add a lot of salt and pepper. The potatoes' had no taste at all. The prices were fair. I would have to say I would not go back again.

The food and service were good enough, but I feel like it's a little overpriced. There was an $8 upcharge to add shrimp to my alfredo, and I expected a bit more than three pieces.
