I came here with my wife and several friends. As we walked into this cafe, I was struck with how cute it was. It was blustery cold outside and it was nice and warm inside. The owner, Ralph, was a nice and proud owner. I asked if the gelato was homemade and he proudly said yes. I asked for a recommendation and had the egg nog gelato. It was terrific. My wife's chocolate chip gelato was also great. I love gelato that is smooth and full of flavor. This fit the bill. I asked the others in my group about their coffees and cookies and got thumbs ups. I can't wait to bring my kids here to try out lunch.

Excellent Paninis! Limoncello gelato is to die for. Eclectic selection of imported beverages... And Philly local Hank's Root Beer!

Great gelato and extra friendly service. The dining room area is very quaint and peaceful. Forget all the ridiculous frozen yogurt places and boring chain ice cream parlors....go here!

LOVE this place! Right off the main drag in Ambler this place is quaint, cozy, inviting and service is pleasant. The gelato, in my opinion, is the best I've had in the philly area. Hazelnut, pistachio and bacci are just a few of my favorite flavors. I also get a great cup of cappuccino every time I go. For a quick lunch, I enjoy their grilled panini sandwiches with a hot cup of their homemade soup of the day. They even do a dessert panini with Nutella and bananas!!!(SO GOOD!) I would recommend Toto's to anybody that would listen!

Had a roasted almond gelato, it was delicious! Nice atmosphere & the prices are reasonable considering the quality of their products. I'm originally a New Yorker who's living in NH & visiting Pa & this week. Will most definitely be back to treat my boyfriend & grab a pint to bring home. Thank goodness for cooler bags!!!

I've been back a few times since my last review for coffee or cookies, and decided they'd earned more stars. They have pretty good hours, which has come in handy, and the coffee and cookies have been good. As long as they're not busy, which they usually aren't, I've had pretty good service, so I must have just caught them on a bad day the first time around.

This review is for the coffee only. Clearly by the rating I was pretty disappointed and unimpressed. Honestly, part of me wonders if the coffee was terrible because we came in around 3:30pm and it was just stale by that point. Not sure if I'd be willing to come back. We ended up pouring the coffee out and making a pit stop elsewhere.

A hidden gem off Main Street! The owner is so sweet and chill. This place has got some great homemade gelato that's bold in flavor. I also tried the affogato, and MAN their espresso is strong! If you love coffee, I would definitely check this place out. Great outdoor seatings, and the inside is a beautiful cozy sweets shop. Wish I could've tried more items, will be back for sure!

Adorable little place off the main street in Ambler. Service is friendly and gelato is delicious and fresh, with a varied flavor selection. I much prefer this place to the other cafe around the corner....worth the few extra steps.

VERY good panini - essentially "design your own." Roasted eggplant, artichokes, roasted red pepper....You can hang out drinking coffee and using the wifi to work for as long as you want. The coffee is great. The outdoor seating is charming. And the owners are SO nice. They make their own gelato from scratch, in a machine they got in Italy. They also have a selection of Italian products and, for some reason, sunglasses that my son loves (every time he loses his, he comes back here to buy another pair). Wonderful local business.

I love this little place! Amazing gelato, and they finally started accepting credit cards! They also added waffles and gelato to their menu.... Strongly recommend that you give it a try. I've yet to have something from here that wasn't incredibly good.

This is a nice, small cafe. The wife and I came here for lunch on a snowy day. Keep in mind this is a cash only place. They have a wide selection of panini, including a separate vegetarian panini menu. Fantastic! Ours were flavored well and tasted very good. The wife had a cappuccino and I had a coffee. We both had a biscotti. Unfortunately, my coffee was lukewarm but still good. The cafe is cozy, and they have a selection of sweets. They also have a small selection of products and goods for sale, which was nice. I picked up a small espresso set and a pack of hard candies. There was a TV hanging in a corner, but it was not turned on. There was no background music playing, so it was pretty quiet. If there was light music playing, it would have been the perfect atmosphere. There are tables out front for warmer weather outside dining. This was a cozy cafe that I recommend visiting. The wife and I will return.
The panini's are awesome! I don't eat meat so I usually build my own panini with amazing marinated veggies, fresh mozzarella and olive spread. The bread is fresh and crunchy! This is the best gelato/ice cream ever. I love their banana gelato made with real fruit, not flavors. The atmosphere is great, with outdoor seating. Love how authentic it is!

Visited for lunch and wow was I impressed. This one of those quaint little places that you are excited to find. When you walk in, you almost feel that you left Ambler and ventured into Italy (or what I image Italy to be)... This seems to be a family owned place, which I love. The other a variety of sandwiches, coffee, gelato and other Italian groceries such as olive oil. The sandwiches were yum. We got mozzarella and roasted red pepper and mozzarella and prosciutto. Both were very good. We also got espresso and macchiato which were both enjoyable. After lunch we got gelato. We got cheesecake and pistachio and both tasted fresh and creamy. I loved the food and the atmosphere and I will definitely go back!! Just remember this place is cash only!!

Came here on a snowy day with some time to kill, having read the positive reviews and wanting to check it out for myself. Very cute and cozy exterior and interior, with huge windows facing the street (great for people- watching or watching the snow fall, which is what I did). I had a cappuccino which was delicious, and a chocolate croissant, which was solid. A great place to visit with friends, or to settle down with a coffee and a good book. I can't wait to come back to try a panini and some gelato!

Man, do I love gelato. I remember a few years back when I heard this place was opening in my neighborhood I was skeptical. Gelato in America tends not to be authentic and rarely brings me back to my first little bowl of frozen Italian glory in Italy when I was 16. Well, this is the REAL DEAL. So delicious. So creamy. So perfect. And the fact that the couple who owns this place can only be described as precious makes my experiences here that much better. Just remember this place is cash only!

Set off Ambler's main drag on Main Street, in a sweet little house that looks like the world's been built up around it sits one of the best places in Ambler to get a cold treat, a sandwich, or a hot cup of coffee. Real, hand made, Italian Gelato that tastes as good as it looks. (We had mint and licorice. YUM!) A wonderful, homey feel with indoor and outdoor seating. Toto's is one of those "off the beaten path" places that I hope stays open for ages and grows in popularity as one of the town's gems. It's important that towns like ambler support small, local shops. It's even easier when one's as good as this. A very warm atmosphere, impeccably clean. Reasonably priced, Toto's is a must visit. Take in a matinée and treat yourself to some Gelato afterwards! Be sure you bring cash, as I'm fairly sure they don't accept plastic.
