Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

After hearing everyone I know raving about Maple Glen Pizza I couldn't wait to try it. Unfortunately, this place did not live up to the hype. Maple Glen makes a decent pizza, but it costs more than it should. This is one of the more expensive pizza places in the area. They do have a great variety of pizza flavors but again, so do many other local places with cheaper prices. Nothing about this place is particularly awful, it's just that nothing is particularly great either. Stick with one of the other local places, you'll find pizza that is just as good or better without breaking the bank.

Have heard of this place for a while and was in the area a few weeks ago so I stopped in for a slice - this is good pizza! I got plain cheese and it was perfect, thin yet chewy crust with a good sauce to cheese ratio - I need to go in one day to order a pie it can only be better fresh! People in there were ordering pizza and cheesesteaks so I'd imagine they are good too.

I grew up on Maple Glen Pizza. Unbelievable cheese steaks, pizza, sandwiches. Fun varieties like taco pie, buffalo chicken pie, etc. This place is a TOTAL 5, save for three things: 1) They have takeout beer, but it's so expensive it makes you wonder who they think they are. Like... I swear they have six packs for like 12 bucks. You're like REALLY?? I'll just go to the wine and spirits that's like .2 miles away and keep my sense of self-worth. 2) The pizza by the slice isn't as good as the entire pie. Sometimes you get one slice and you're like wait.. What happened? Maybe it's during the weird lull btw lunch and dinner, but still. 3) Prices. The taco pie is $32.00. I just don't think any single item at a pizza place should cost that much. Like, yeah it's good, but I mean are they making it with ground kobe beef? No? Then price accordingly. Otherwise, I love this place and wish I still lived in the 'Sham so I could get there in 5 minutes. Mwah MGP.

The best pizza in the state. Forget NY or Chicago style pizza. This suburban neighborhood pizza place is the best hands down.
(5)Aimee T.
I've been going to Maple Glen Pizza for as long as I can remember. I've probably tried everything on the menu at least once, and have never been disappointed. Even something as simple as their plain cheese pizza is out of this world. Newly renovated, the dining room is spacious and perfect for a quick solo bite, or a sit down meal with friends and family. Choices of hot or cold sandwiches, pizzas, strombolis, salads, pasta, wraps, side orders, and beverages (juice, soda, 6pks), Maple Glen Pizza definitely the best pizza in the 215, and even in Pennsylvania.
(5)Aaron T.
Haven't had pizza as good and greasy as this since college. There's nothing quite like NY style thin crust!
(4)Daniel B.
My favorite pizza and cheesesteak in the Philly area. When I was living in Conshy, friends recommend this place and I quickly found out why. Now when I visit family in the Philly area, this place is a must-stop.
(5)Roger M.
This place was decent. Cheesesteaks and pizza were ok. Quick service and friendly guys behind the counter.
(3)Esther O.
Bruschetta pizza and fries are awesome. Great pizza-- from a chick who eats A LOT of pizza
(5)Justin H.
Some of the best pizza I've ever had, cheesesteaks are also top-notch. The guys that work there have been there forever and are all business. Pros: - Tasty slices with LOTS of different options (try the cheesesteak or bruschetta, my personal favorites) - Take-Out Beer (though pricey) - Nice seating area with HUGE plasma TVs (great for lunch during March Madness!) Cons: - Cash only - Expensive for pizza

I've only been there once, ordered a Pepperoni pizza to go. The place seemed really clean and had a nice atmosphere. I like that they sell 6 packs, etc. The pizza was very good and definitely rivals all the other *must have* pizza places in Philadelphia. However, all in all, it's not all that special or worth raving over. Also, if you want more than one topping on your pizza, be prepared for sticker shock. It's really close by, so I'll likely go there again. If my opinion of this place changes, I'll update my review.

Amazing, I miss Maple Glen Pizza. The only thing that could make this place better is if it moved close to me.
(5)jerry s.
About as good as thin crust pizza gets. They have a terrific selection of slices to try individually: buffalo chicken, taco, bbq, caprese, meats, etc.
(4)Jonathan E.
When we didn't have Tonelli's, we had Maple Glen Pizza. Another great slice of pizza. They do it right and have some "exotic" slices of pizza including buffalo chicken with blue cheese. Their prices are a bit high, but they have excellent service and a nice place to sit down and eat. This place is worth a stop.
(4)Michael S.
Maple Glen Pizza rocks! I grew up in Ambler and loved to get pizza here! I now live in San Francisco and look forward to my visits home so I can go and get a couple slices - I never miss!
(5)Ron G.
Great food and that's it! I was left feeling uncomfortable after they ignored me for regulars. I just moved to the area and love pizza...not attitude. tonelli's here I come.
(3)Joshua K.
The staff are incredibly rude and the food is only mediocre. Tonight my wife ordered two sandwiches for me to pick up. When she asked the staff member on the phone what came on a particular sandwich the staff member was rude and said "what do you mean?! Anything." She was then reluctant to take my wife's order. Our sandwiches were made completely wrong. When I called to let then know about the errors in our order the manager was put on the phone and proceeded to tell me that my wife was "annoying" because she asking questions about the sandwiches. I will never go back to this restaurant and I encourage anyone reading this not to go to this restaurant.
(1)Meredith M.
The pizza here is very good, but I am quite disappointed that they have bad advertising -- their fliers and their website claim that they make a pizza with a whole wheat crust, but I have tried to order it twice now and they always say it's unavailable. They shouldn't advertise it if they don't really make it (and they should make it!).
(3)Susan L.
Buyer Beware!! My friends and co-workers in the past year have become very discouraged about Maple Glen Pizza. We like to frequent the local businesses however, they have a menu that they give out on the counter and one posted on the website which have prices listed. However, when you go to pick up your food the charge is much more than expected. The owner then explains that they have the wrong prices and the one on the board above is what the prices are. We have been charged different prices for the same order 3-4 different times. When you question the owner about this he gets very arrogant and rude. He actually told one of my co-workers to never return to his establishment and shouted profanities to her as she was leaving. We will NEVER use this place for any of our orders EVER again. Also, in this day and age, why are they only accepting cash? Things that make you go hmmmm....
(1)George A.
One and done for me. Don't get me wrong, the pie is good (nothing fantastic), same can be said for the wings. Judging by the crowd the one Friday night, it's the place to go but the prices aren't worth me going back. If I do happen to stumble back here, I'll make sure to hit the Citizens nearby as the place is cash only and their ATM will charge you for a slice of pizza to use it.
(3)Brian H.
Born and raised in Philadelphia spoiled my ass as to what was/is good pizza. Pizza in the Montgo burbs suck in general, however I may have found a good one among the pathetic bunch. I was at a party a few weeks back, they had 4 pizzas from Maple Glen Pizza, a reliable local spot so I was told. And, if the rumors I heard are true, these are the former owners of Nino's Pizza on Rt 611. Not that I know that rumor to be true, but coincidental Sicilian evidence may give it credence. One of the pizzas was a Sicilian, you know, that thick crispy and nicely greasy crust pizza which in public most women say they don't like it because of "all the dough", but in secret wolf down piece after piece when no one is looking. This pizza was and is utterly amazing. The taste is as I remember from years ago, yes, that good to remember. The other pizzas include a regular, pepperoni, and a boardwalk pizza (the flip side of a regular). The sauce was terrific, the cheese of good mafia quality, and the crust thin and almost crisp. As far as the boardwalk pizza, I am not a fan, neither at the boardwalk nor here. Overall, a notch below South Philly and Rome, and ten notches above anything else around here.
(4)South D.
Simple place, good pizza slices, a lot of choices, been around forever. Staff is friendly, and fast, lots of TVs to watch sports.
(4)Albert L.
I gave this place two tries in two weeks. It is just plain BAD. Those who rave about this place must not have visited other, good pizza joints. The total experience blows. The people answering the phones don't even know what is on the menu. It is a cash-only business (can an IRS audit really be far behind?!?). The pizza is really bad, watery, oily, and not baked well. The hot wings are like tough, rubbery bones. The sauce is horrible. Maple Glen Pizza is so bad, a Pizza Hut had to open kitty-corner across the street. Long time residence swear by Maple Glen Pizza. All other have been warned.
(1)Janet C.
This is my favorite pizza place in the world! I've been going here my whole life. It has been a bit more crowded lately (which is great for the family). The chicken cheese steaks are the BEST and pizza fries are an instant hit with everyone I bring. Just a great all around environment and a great family owned pizza joint.
(5)Alexander G.
I would give the food 3 stars, since the chicken in my chicken parm was somewhat dry, and the lasagna nothing special. However, the fact they DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS !! is absolutely ridiculous. Therefore 2 stars.
(2)RJ T.
I'd give it a 0 if possible. Never returning with coworkers. Snotty staff and rude to all customers. WE asked for a diet coke. The owner opened the mug and said its diet. My coworker and direct report said it tasted like regular. Owner refused to refill (its a fountain soda btw). We will never be back and have already stopped ordering for pick up. You can find better pizza and a lovely staff at multiple locations within 5 miles. Take a drive and safe a headache.
(1)Anthony D.
GREAT Pizza! My wife just loves the white pizza with ricotta cheese and spinach. I love the traditional pizzas. They are all friendly and the food is great.
(5)sherri s.
This was our go-to-pizza place...but the last couple times we were there we were disappointed. First of all, the prices have gone up considerably. I had one slice of pizza & it was far from special. It was reheated...given to me...not hot enough...re-heated again. It was crispy and a bit dried out at this point. I was sorry to waste my calories. At least I was given the smallest slice in the pie so I was spared from wasting more calories. hmmm. Our friends steak sandwich looked okay but nothing great compared to other places. (thats what they said). Hubby had a slice of peperoni pizza and was thoroughly disappointed. "Just nothin special" and for $3.50 for a slice . . . well, he was not anxious to return.
(2)Dana Z.
This pizza is seriously the ish.
(4)Chris O.
Pizza was average. Female working register needs attitude adjustment.
(2)Denise C.
Surprisingly delicious. Had a fantastic wrap sandwich. Didn't expect the food to be this good at a little neighborhood pizza shop.
(4)Meg G.
I, too, am born and raised in Philadelphia. That being said, this place is completely overrated and overpriced. The staff is rude, and the pizza is never consistent, and not good. The crust is very chewy, and the sauce is way too sweet. This cash-only business will not be benefitting from my patronage again.
(1)Eric M.
Great place. Service was awesome. Atmosphere was fun. The pizzas were devoured. Nice place to get a thin crust pie. Surprising that this place was much better pizza than primo pizza in NY when we visited central park. If you are in Ambler then give it a try.
(4)Danielle S.
Love the people and food!
(5)L J.
just got two plain slices to go, GREASSY MESS all over my car seat, at 2 bites n pulled over at Lowes and threw them in the trash
(1)Drew J.
I go to Maple Glen Pizza a lot and I am very satisfied with it. I think the array of different types of pizza is amazing and I love how you can get just one slice or two of any pizza of your choice. I have never had a problem with the food. Sometimes the restaurant and tables aren't as clean as I would like them to be, but I think the food makes up for that. The service was okay. Sometimes the people are rude but most of the time they are very nice and happy. Overall, I would definitely recommend Maple Glen Pizza.
(4)Fran D.
Decent food, cute counter help but way too costly. Another cash only business that likely is under reporting their dollars.
(3)Gennifer Q.
So I wrote an update MONTHS AGO, but apparently it was flagged because it was "too sensitive and honest." I'll just say go to Gio's. Better service, and better pizza PERIOD.
(1)Joe W.
Just went to Maple Glen Pizza. Almost $16 for a plain pizza with no toppings. Are you kidding me??? What a joke. Cash only??! What a joke. Sorry, the pizzas not good enough to charge $16. And definitely not worth it enough to go to the ATM/bank. I'm done with this place.
(1)P M W.
Take-out pizzas. Thick, chewy, expensive, bland, yuck. None of us finished our pizza, we threw it out.
