Diabetics at TGI Friday
If you're a diabetic, then you must be extra careful while dining at TGI Friday. Try the salad menu at TGI Friday to keep your sugar and sodium intake in check. Soups are great to keep you full and satisfied without munching on the unhealthy greased meat-based dishes on TGI Friday menu.
Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for Diabetics:
Sugar and sodium intake are crucial if you have diabetes. While the salads are the best option for you at TGI Friday, it is recommended to avoid the Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad containing over 1000 calories and 1,650mg sodium. Also, skip Warm Pretzels with Craft Beer-Cheese dipping sauce as it contains more than 3000mg sodium. It is wise to skip the dessert for diabetics, especially the Brownie Obsession topped with Vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and pecans.

Friendly's is a 50's persuaded country styled restaurant that is known for its ice-cream. I have never had their ice-cream...or I don't recall having it...based on appearance it definitely looks good enough to try. However, on this day I was looking for some breakfast. Atmosphere - 50's nostalgia music playing, servers in 50's influenced garb, family welcoming environment, clean, county styled tables and booths Food - I ordered the Lumberjack Breakfast, which came w/ three pancakes, three strips of bacon, and three eggs. The girl taking my order gleefully agreed to my egg white only request...and there was no up charge...nice! The pancakes were decent. Not super fluffy or thick like at Cracker Barrel, but satisfying nonetheless. The bacon was perfect w/ its slightly crisp texture and salty smoky goodness. The egg whites were what egg whites are...healthy. Service - Friendly (see restaurant's name), fast, attentive Overall - My experience here was good. Friendly's is definitely better than a Denny's and to me on par with a Bob Evans. If in the area I would be inclined to stop here again. Maybe I'll even get some ice cream.

I mean, it wasn't horrible but it was less than spectacular. Our waiter although nice, was distracted. We were lacking silverware for quite awhile so eating our appetizer was a little rough. Our food was good though -- I was impressed by the portions. We could have easily shared one! Friendly's, I might come back.

First thing through the door tonight at Friendly's...we're greeted by a hostess, who says hi how are you, and we reply back, good how are you? Our first mistake. That opens her up to a full complaint about how she's having a bad day and she's been there since 10:00am (it was just before 8pm) and how she's SO ready to go and how bad today has been. I fully understand bad days at work, especially around the first of the month when you get all kinds of folks, but don't complain to customers. Complain to coworkers out of earshot of patrons. After waiting a few minutes for a table to be ready (keep in mind there were maybe five other tables filled in the place), we were seated and promptly greeted by our waiter. He introduced himself and pointed at his name tag and repeated his name again. He said this is my name, and I am special, please treat me as such. I think it was an attempt at humor, but I'm pretty sure that isn't how that works.... His "humor" lasted all through the visit. When taking our drink orders, he shook his head no when one of the people in our party of three gave hers. When our food finally came after quite some time, someone in our party asked for a condiment, and he said no, then said he was kidding and would be back with it. The "jokes" that he cracked were off beat and left us kind of in awkward silence when he would say something strange, like no to a refill or whatever. Asked for a box, which he didn't bring. Got out my wallet to pay and had it sitting on the table when he came back to clear plates, and goes "oooh a wallet!". None of us are prudes, but it definitely wasn't what I would describe as good service or necessarily personable. We paid the bill at the front counter, and waitress after waitress acknowledged us standing there, but all said they couldn't ring us out and would get our waiter, who never came. Another girl ended up ringing us out. Just such an odd experience as far as service at a restaurant. The food was good. The fries tasted like they might've been under a heat lamp for some time, but the main entrees were hot and seemed fresh. Menu selection and location are both good! I would return for the decent food, but will probably refrain for awhile because of the service.

Friendly service and it was fast. The only odd thing is the parking lot next to the building is small which makes it seem they're really busy. We thought we would need to wait and almost didn't go, but to our surprise only half the restaurant was filled. So, don't judge the wait by the parking lot as you will most likely get right in.
