You can never go wrong at a Cracker Barrel. The food is on the salty side for those watching their sodium intake, so be sure to drink plenty of water. Other than that, service is always down home, friendly & expedient.

It has been many years since I have been to a Cracker Barrel. Too many! We came here for breakfast on Saturday morning. I forgot how good this place is, even though it is a chain. The biscuits and gravy were excellent. The biscuits were very light and served warm. The gravy was tasty and not too thick. I also had eggs and the grilled ham. The only disappointment was the grits. Not the best I have had. If you are a grits person, you will not be very happy with these. However, that was a very small part of the meal. I was more than pleased with everything else. I will make it a point to get here more often.

We've come to this restaurant a few times. This past time, the service was a let down. Our server never seemed pleased to be there. We have a 4 yr old and a 1 year old. So trying to find what to order takes a little bit longer while also keeping the kids happy and occupied. Our server kept trying to rush us along. We ordered our meals, mine I added a side salad to have with it. The salad, while just a good classic lettuce, tomato, cucumber salad, came out 15-20 minutes after we ordered. Then about 60 seconds later, all of our meal had arrived. Just poor timing. The worst though was while my wife and I had not even eaten half of our food and still trying to help the kids eat, our not too friendly server asked us if we saved room for dessert and was trying to get us to leave. She left the check at that point and that was the last we saw of her. While the food was alright, the feeling of being hurried along and forced out will help our decision the next time we want comfort food to a different establishment.

Ate at this Cracker Barrel one time and everything was delicious. There is something I really love about eating a crackle barrel, It reminds me of my Grandma's home cooking. The waitress was very nice and refilled our coffee frequently.

Food was good but small portions for the catfish. Server staff needs a bit more polishing. Our waitress needed to be reminded several times about what we ordered or needed.

Typically speaking I'm always a fan of Cracker Barrel's but our server went above and beyond the call of duty. My Fiance and I were on our road trip home from Pittsburgh to North NJ and decided to stop in for lunch. I believe her name was April and she was great. Food was quickly and properly served and she was taking care of our every need. She went above and beyond when we were getting ready to leave and I mentioned that we were hitting the road back to NJ and that the total drive was about 6 hours, she walked away and then brought us back to-go cups with lemonade in them for our drive. Straight up the best customer service I've ever received from any restaurant and it was an amazing gesture. Thank you!

Mmmmm... hash-brown casserole. I have to say, I've only had breakfast here- but I really don't want anything BUT breakfast here. Not because other menu options aren't good, but because the breakfast is ridiculously good. Even the store is a fun time, and I love playing the mind game at the table while I'm patiently waiting for my food ( I can leave one peg every time). Don't tell anyone, but I had my 18th birthday party here. It was pretty awesome.

Tastes and looks just like any other Cracker Barrel. If you've been to one, you've been to them all. Friends and I stopped here for brunch on the way home from Penn State. Nice waitress - a friend even pointed out that she had a farmer's tattoo. Food was fine, but nothing to write home about. No one got sick, but we haven't stopped back in since that brunch.

Cracker Barrel has the absolute best fried chicken I've ever had in my life. Sure, it's unhealthy as can be, but everyone deserves a treat every now and again! They also made me a delicious vainilla milkshake when I asked for one, even though it wasn't on the menu...and they did it with a smile! Note that they only serve their Buttermilk Fried Chicken on Sundays, so be sure to come on a Sunday if you want to give it a try. Sure, you often have to wait 30 minutes or so for a table, but it is well worth the wait. A favorite of mine in Altoona.

I just love this place. Southern home-style food available quickly, inexpensively and right along most highway's in the country. I look forward to road trips because I know we will stop at the Cracker Barrel. The food is good, not great, but I always enjoy eating it and and priced inexpensively.
