I've been going here for breakfast on the weekends for a few years now. The food is very good, comes out hot and fast! Corned beef hash and SOS are very good! The home fries are done the way I like them- crispy. Service is stellar and the staff is friendly and remember you and what you like to order. I have not had dinner there, but the breakfast service is top notch. Only sticky point for me is that the decaf coffee is not too good. That will not keep me from spending my money there.

Ate here many a times because it's close and easy. The food is so-so. One of tue things that tick me off about this place is the offer "potato or vegetable" many offer both the portion sizes you get are smaller than other diners in the area. If your willing to travel a few more minutes there ate better diner options in the valley Bottom line is that this place is a diner and will do in a pinch, Pass on it if ya want a better "diner" experience.

Went here because my sis said their breakfast is delicious and the food was GREAT!! Even them being full the food came in decent time and wAs AFFORDABLE the only bad was that I guess the septic system backed up, per the waitress and there was a mess in the lady's bathroom. There was only 2 stalls and the one had black crap all over the floor . The waitress said they tried cleaning it up which must be a lie cuz if they would have just grabbed a mop there'd be no mess. Thank god I didn't go to the bathroom before I ate but after.

Very good breakfast. Filling sandwiches. Great looking desserts. Close to the airport, too.

There's a great tradition of independently-owned and operated diners across our land that turn out savory dishes that delight and amaze. Sadly, this is not one of those diners. While the service was adequate, the food was uniformly under-seasoned, as if in dread that any hint of spicing would send the residents of the Lehigh Valley fleeing in terror. My lasagne had a red sauce on it, I could see it, but there was only the barest hint of tomato flavor. The cheese was two slices of what I guess was trying to be mozzarella melted over the top of the stack of noodles and indifferent ground beef. I would have to say that it was the most flavor-neutral dish I've ever eaten. My wife's crab cakes resembled stuffing that longed for turkey, and most likely had crab in them, but you couldn't tell from the texture or the flavor. At least the place was clean, and our soft drinks were kept filled.

Consider the price here. The seafood is very healthy and tasty and some dishes are under $8 (Long John Silver charges that for their freshgrille platters). Mostly retired people eating her midday. Breakfast is 24/7.

I have gone 3 times because i'm just so close. The service is terrible and so is the food. I would not recommend at all.
(1)Rob V.
Me and wife go here on busy weekends. No waiting to get seated, the food is reasonably priced, were stuffed with breakfast for around $12. Best of all the 10 minutes or less guarantee lives up to its name i don't we've waited longer than 5 minutes for our food ever.

I realize that the Bethlehem diner is a staple in town. People love this place but I just don't get it. It's greasy and I can make a better breakfast at home to be honest. Every time I eat here ( not my choice) I feel sick after from the grease. There are so many better breakfast places in town that have more unique choices and healthier options such as Blue Sky, Jumbars, Mitzy's table. I recommend those places over BD. If you're into a greasy breakfast then head here.

Welp, Yelp. Lets add this place to the FOREVER SKIPPING THIS PLACE list. Went here at 11am on a Sunday with 3 friends. Place was packed and not the cleanest diner I've been to. Lighting was bright, tables and chairs depserately needed upgrade / replacement. 3 of the 4 coffee mugs on our table were chipped/cracked. Coffee was bitter and not at all tasty --- typically diners have fantab coffee..Nope, not at this diner. Waitress was prompt and efficient and polite. The service was average -- nothing too special. The food just simply wasn't too appealing to the human eye. The french toast looks frozen and warmed up (not fresh made), the BLT and Turkey Bacon Club (for 8 dollars each??) were small and not totally loaded with anything special. SKimpy on the mayo and BACON! ANd once we got to the Bacon, it was cold and grubby. Oh gross dude ! We were not pleased! FRENCH FRIES WERE ABOVE AVERAGE ! THIS HAS ADDED A STAR TO THIS 1 STAR REVIEW. Eggs and corn beef hash were lacking flavor, portion size and overall visual appeal. I get it, its a diner, but try to make the food look palatable. Prices were high overall! Ketchup bottles on table were sticky and empty! Syrup bottle was all messy and sticky as well - no label on the bottle, you can totally tell that it MUST BE GENERIC. Waitresses attempted to rush us from our table at the end of our meal. It felt cold and unnecessary for her to rush us. I've never been a fan of diners, ever. And this was another reminder of why! Steer clear of this place. IT JUST ISNT WORTH IT ! Find somewhere else go to ! PS... thier parking lot was a complete B!TCH to park in. OMG. What a nightmare! There is a angle in thier parking lot -- and its a nightmare to navigate. JUST DONT DO THIS PLACE!

Good food and fast service. A little dated 80-90's diner vibe. Pretty clean just dated. Breakfast was good and reasonably priced. I normally come here for the half chicken dinner that is absolutely amazing!
(4)Jennifer S.
A must try for breakfast in the Lehigh valley. They truly stand by their 10 minute guarantee - breakfast in 10 minutes - delicious! Always busy but do not let that stop you from trying they are busy because clearly everyone wants to eat here!
(4)Rosemarie W.
Mediocre food here. Price is cheap, but sometimes you get what you pay for. Service left a lot to be desired. Food took forever to get to us. The waitress did not give us water or bread or anything at all while we waited either. What happened here prompted a tweet from my daughter: Waitress: Is everything OK here? Yeah, would be just GREAT if you actually had brought something to our table in the mast 15 minutes! 'Nuff said
(2)Mary M.
Well the service was very good because Amy G was very honest. Also very friendly. There was no one in the place. The salad bar was lame and looked like it sat untouched for hours. Food ingredients weren't fresh. Example: Chicken parm was made with frozen chicken patties. If your from North Jersey or around the original diner areas, this is not the place for you. Trust me. You will regret it. But the Dennys and Friendly's are next door and awesome not like Jerseys Friendly's
(3)Sue C.
What a depressing, outdated, ugly place. The chicken shish ke Bob whatever it was called, had absolutely no taste. Terrible. No one enjoyed their meal.
(1)Ester B.
OK food, not great. Place is pretty run down. People working there are polite, especially the gentleman at the front. OK to go when all other places are closed.

This place really is a great diner if you're willing to overlook a few key details: 1. Don't expect them to have things available. I tried to order chicken parm this week and found out that they were out of chicken. I mean who the hell runs out of chicken? Then I went for a Lasagna which was on special. Initially they were out of that but then our server said that one could whipped up. Of course when it came it literally had no sauce on it anywhere. Apparently they were out of red sauce as well. The lovely wife bravely ordered some kind of seafood dish which was very small in portion size even though she said that is was not that bad. I mean it wasn't that good either since there was hardly any flavor but at least kudos for it not being bad, right? 2. Don't expect your check to be correct either. Remember that chicken parm that I attempted to order? Well even though they were out of it when the check came naturally I was still billed for it. When I attempted to take this up with the owner at the register she had to track down our server to rewrite the check and to verify that I wasn't lying to try and pay less for the "special" lasagna. 3. Don't expect this place to be located in the city that's in its name. While it may be called the Bethlehem Diner, of course the physical address is in Allentown so go ponder that awhile! I mean the area doesn't have that many diners and most of them either are not that good or they keep short hours so this place is kind of a best of the rest. But while it may be better than the Denny's next door that's a very low bar to jump over and quite honestly the criticisms that have been lobbed by other Yelpers are very true regarding small portion sizes, higher prices and food that totally lacks flavor. For breakfast stuff the BD is alright, past that no, no, no.
(2)Andrew C.
Firstly, in my opinion, for a diner representing the town, I'd expect better. The service was slightly below average, the food was mediocre, lacking any kind of seasonings ... I think they left cinnamon out of there french toast recipe, the home fries were lacking. Lastly, you come here if you can't take the wait at the denny's that's adjacent to it.
(2)Bill B.
I had a bad experience at this place just last week... I went in with my family and ordered dinner.... As we were waiting for our food another family came in and I heard the whole conversation to the waitress. They were German and spoke the language to each other. They asked the waitress to hurry the order along as they just had a bad experience at checkers nearby.. They had 3 kids and said they were tired and hungry. The waitress agreed with them and they received there food in 5 minutes as I sit there with my mouth hung open. I wanted to tell the waitress to shove the food up her butt and that it was not fair for other people to wait because another family had some sob story. My family old me not to say anything... And only because of them I did not.... This is not the kinda place I want go to if this happens..

We love this place because of a couple of things: It's down the road from us. They have a unlimited salad and soup bar option if that's your fancy. ( They have a yummy macaroni salad in there too if you want some carbs . The bread buns are usually really hard but i don't eat them.) They have quite a few options for dessert if you have any room. (strawberry cheese cake is yummy) They are open late usually. ( i don't know their hours off hand but every time we went they were open, whether it be early morning or late night like at 10:30.) They also are always glad to seat you and give you adequate time to choose your order, ( getting the check sometimes can be a little hard depending on who you have) Overall the food I have had there was pretty good. Nothing to right home about but considering the prices aren't too bad I can't complain. Soups are usually super yummy and the Open Ruben is the best! One review I read was right about the fact that there will be occasions where they may not have anymore of the Special or ran out of ingredient so they can't make certain meals, but usually the waitress will let your know or will come running back apologizing profusely that they don't have that on the menu right now due to lack of an ingredient. The one con is that the cashiers ( manager maybe?) always seem to be only mildly content or mad at something but as soon as you show your appreciation for the food and that your had a pretty good experience they start smiling and glowing . So cute !

Dirty, run down, average food, average service, what more can you ask for. On the positive side, I was very full with my salad bar, soup, open face turkey sandwich for a reasonable price. I question the bright yellow color of the turkey gravy. What gives? How does one make turkey gravy soooo yellow? Ahhh, yellow #5. Enjoy.
(2)Rhino V.
Ehh, an older diner. Coffee decent, pancakes not great. a good place if ur starving, but there are better places.
(2)Jacob H.
Terrible service, the food is overcooked and they waitress we had didn't know how to add. She raised our bill by 6 dollars and than the first time the owner tried to fix the bill he still didn't get it right. I would recommend any other dinner, we probably would have better luck going through a McDonald's drive through.
(1)Max M.
great and fast service food is ok fast refills on the drinks! great dinner specials I dont like the actual place it needs a major fresh up besides it always smells from mold but again a Diner is a diner what do you expect!
(2)Brian C.
This place is a solid diner, but it lacks some features that would really help it be super. In particular, it would benefit considerably from a really solid salad bar. The salad bar is currently pretty bad, and the small selection of items is rather depressing. If it was significantly expanded to a wider range of veggies it would be a big plus on the rest of this nice diner. Having the sad salad bar is actually a big negative on the place, because it makes the rest of this nice diner seem cheap and bad. By comparison, I'd have a look at Coach House Diner in Hackensack NJ. now that is a solid salad bar, and it makes the whole diner seem so much better, even though the quality of the food between the two restaurants is basically the same. Having a better salad bar allows the diner to charge more for each dish even if the dish doesn't include the salad bar, because the whole restaurant seems classier and less like a cheap diner. The building could benefit from a renovation too, but that is a secondary thing.
(3)John T.
Disappointing! What diner doesn't have a counter? This one! The omelet was pretty disappointing, things seemed to be on the cheaper end. The breakfast potatoes were terrible, tasted like they were cooked in margarine. They came out looking gold not golden brown. And they have sweet plus sweetener, that just screams cheap to me. Is sweet and low really that much more of an expense. When old ladies don't steal the sweet plus you know it's bad! I love diners and breakfast foods, but I won't try this place again. Sorry
(2)Tina B.
Value driven diner with Greek menu items including spinach feta omlette, chicken gyro's, and regular beef guros too, plus seafood, burgers, fries, the gamut. A packed place on weekends for breakfast. Soups are good, and the place, well, is low on ambiance, but big on heart.

I would imagine this place is good for breafkfast. Went there last night for dinner. It flat out sucked, no need to sugar coat it. This place is geared towards older clientele who want over cooked, over boiled food and other wise very bland food. It is literally like getting served hospital or high school cafeteria food. The prices are cheap, and you get what you pay for. I had the turkey platter which came with the thinnest slices of dried out turkey I have ever had in my like. The stuffing lookedand tasted like it had sat on a steamer tray for 12 hours. My vegetables were boiled beyond being able to recognize what they were. The salad bar sucks. Mostly iceberg lettuce, cherry tomatoes that aren't even ripe and soups that looked like they came out of a can. It is horrible! Really hate going there, but we go to visit a relative in the area who refuses to eat anywhere else. Next time I'll just get a coffee and hit a Burger King drive-thru on the way home.

I'm a big fan of diners, and went to the Bethlehem Diner for breakfast on a recent visit. It turns out I'm a big fan of *most* diners. The service was just ok. It would have been nice if the waitress had come by again after dropping our food on the table. I had to flag her down 10 minutes later to tell her that the eggs on my benedict were cooked hard as rocks. "Oh, that's not how you want them?"... Not the response I expected. She came back (finally) with 2 more eggs, cooked almost as hard, and no extra hollandaise. My friend's breakfast was similarly sub-par. You'd think that a "toasted" bagel might actually be warm, brown and crunchy. The funny thing was that we were at another, nearby diner the next morning and overheard some folks eating at the next table saying how bad the Bethlehem Diner was. I think that's saying something.

When ever we are in town visiting my Wifes's Mother we come here for Breakfast and sometimes Dinner, too. The Soup and Salad Bar is an inexpensive alternative to the local, more expensive restaurants. The entree's vary from local to Greek, Italian, Asian Fusion, etc.. Remember that you are going to a Diner and you will not be disappointed.
(3)DeWayne F.
Not bad as diners go.
(3)Melody C.
Blah. We stopped here on the ride back from skiing at Blue Mountain.. what a disappointment. Just blah diner food. Go elsewhere.

There is something about a diner that I find myself, time and time again, drawn to try. Perhaps it is the uber local sense to many of them...getting a piece of the neighborhood action. As a result, the food is second fiddle to the community action. We were staying in a hotel up the street from the Bethlehem Diner and since the place was busy, thought it might be a good choice for dinner. Boy, were we wrong. Serve was fine but the food was awful. The salad bar looked like something out of the 1980s.....chunks of iceberg lettuce and an odd assortment of vegetables. I had a cup of what they called Manhattan Clam Chowder but it tasted like a watery vegetable soup....never found any clams. It was the dinner entrees that really really stood out. I ordered the Chicken Cordon Blue with a side of mashed potatoes and the veg of the night. When the waitress asked if I wanted gravy on the chicken, I'm thankful that I said no. The chicken was a boneless breast butterflied then stuffed with ham and Swiss cheese. It was edible. The potatoes were probably instant and covered in a fluorescent "chicken" gravy. This was not edible. The saving grace of the meal dessert. I had the German Chocolate cake. On the sweet side, but good. Perhaps this is the kind of diner that knows how to do breakfast; I hope so. Alas, I will never know.

I only gave this place 1 because I couldn't give it a zero. Nothing special about this dirty run down diner. I was staying at the Marriott and didn't feel like driving to Cracker Barrel ( it's only 15 min away) I should have gone or the mall is a short drive and they have a bonefish grill and an amazing Italian place bravo, go there instead!! Unless you like frozen cafeteria style food! I prefer my dining experience to be fresh food and good service. At this place you get neither one. The service was beyond horrible, we had an old angry waitress. She hated us for no particular reason, I've been a server, I'm always super kind too. I didn't get why she was so kind to all the older folks around us and so rude to my sister, son and I? Like for example I was blowing on my sons spoon and she comes over and yells if you eat his soup ill have to charge you for a salad bar?? I told her fine do whatever makes you happy but I'm just cooling off his soup he's 3!! I mean she's acting like the pathetic salad bar was anything worthwhile,I just ordered it along with a kids meal just for the soup, everything else looked gross at their salad bar, I didn't feel safe giving it to my toddler! She slammed plates down, never asked us how we were doing but she was nice to all those around us made me wonder if she doesn't like Asians? Funny I left her a 45% tip all in ones, I'm sure the biggest tip she's gotten there for the worst service she's ever given! Stay away from this place make the short drive and go to a better, friendlier, cleaner , fresher place !!!

Reading the other reviews, makes me wonder if there are TWO Bethlehem diners, and I keep visiting the "bad" one. Been there twice in March (late night, and Sunday breakfast) and both times thought "oh!" when I saw the food. Agree fully with DC C -- tiny portions, poor poor quality. Limited selection, compared to other Greek diners. The cook managed to render the typical diner staple of eggs & sausage completely unappetizing. Did someone say "salad bar?" It's more like a canned vegetable and old iceberg lettuce bar -- far from interesting. In this case, "Greek family run" does NOT equal good food. There are other diners in the LV area ... some of you reviewers should get out more and explore.
(1)Keith L.
Pleased w/ the place. Very efficient and good value. The hundreds of people who eat here daily can't be wrong.
(4)DC C.
I went here once late night with some friends a few years ago. A couple of us got cheeseburgers and fries. Diners can't ruin burgers right? Well, this place was the first to show me that they can. The burger was tiny and mediocre. The fries sucked. This was supposed to be a regular burger and fries - instead, it looked like something from the kids menu. I would normally advocate going to local diners over chain restaurants, but in this case, go to the nearby Denny's, Red Robin, or Friendly's instead. Some of my old friends like this place, so that's where the two star rating comes in.
(2)Charly J.
This is where my hubby & I go for a quick, inexpensive soup & salad bar. There's nothing extravagant about their s&s bar, but they do offer a lot of choices of the standard salad bar fare. It's self-serve & all-u-can-eat (soup AND salad bar, not just the salad bar but the server brings you your soup like some other diners) for under $7. They offer three choices of soups, rolls & butter, plenty of iceburg lettuce, shredded carrots & cheese, tomatoes, radishes, sprouts, olives, broccoli, cauliflower, onions, three-bean mix, garbanzo beans/chickpeas, beets, fruit medly, apple sauce & butter, coleslaw, potato & mac salad, dressings, & salad toppers. If s&s isn't your thing, but you're not sure what you want to eat, then check out the rest of the menu. Their menu is big, offering a variety of diner-equivalent American, Italian, Mexican & Greek food. The place is owned & ran by a Greek family, so the Greek food is your best bet for above-par diner eats. The rest of the food is just so-so. They have plenty of dinner & Senior specials & lots-o-pies & cakes to choose from for dessert. I recommend only for the soup/salad bar if you're not looking for anything fancy & are not picky about your diner food. Afterall, it IS just diner food.

Best diner ever fast serves, good food
(5)John K.
After a late night of and a sudden urge to devour food, Bethlehem Diner was my destination. This late night pit stop as your typical Diner experience; nothing more, nothing less. During the day servise is usually decent, however, this particular moment in time the waitress seemed to move in slow motion. Not to mention, her dull sense of humor.
(3)Samantha S.
The best diner in the Bethlehem area. My friends and I spent many a Sunday morning here, curing our hangovers. There usually isn't a wait if you time it correctly. The salad bar is pretty good. The grilled cheese with bacon and a side of fries is even better. Very pleasant waitresses.
(5)Stephyelp j.
Very very nice and professional waitress who was pleasant and attentive without hovering or interrupting. We had breakfast. The cheese blintzes were almost identical to the frozen ones I buy in the grocery, but they were warm and came with sour cream and really good strawberries - not the usual bitter frozen mush, but a compromise between fresh and frozen. Clean. I don't care much about decor - it was pretty standard, slightly outdated. Large, thin, crisp sausage patty. Decent prices. (FYI: I prefer trying local places and risking so-so than hitting yet another chain like Cracker Barrel...)
(3)Daniel H.
It's a great place for a quick breakfast or lunch. I wouldn't consider it anything special. The salad bar is mediocre. The meat and seafood entrées are merely average. That being said, their sandwiches and breakfast platters are excellent. I suspect the owners have some Greek heritage and their gyros are appropriately tasty. I'd definitely come here over the Denny's next door! It's a little pricier than your average greasy spoon diner. I think their pork roll leaves a little to be desired too. But their eggs and fried potatoes are solid choices (my barometer for diner food).
(3)Kris G.
This diner has the best and quickest breakfast in the valley. Their home fries are the so tasty because the griddle is old and seasoned. I only had breakfast there until we made a trip there after a late flight into ABE and I had a grilled cheese sandwich. They are consistent and always fast.
(4)Steve F.
Since this place is right by the Lehigh Valley Airport, I often stop in here on my way out of town. It's run by a Greek family so you know the food is going to be good. The atmosphere is outdated 80's pink and green plastic which you have to overlook. Stick with the Greek specialties like Gyros and you'll be a happy camper. I've only been here for the lunch specials bargains, but the supper menu always looks good.
(3)Jen A.
One of my favorite diners. The service is top notch! If you go there for lunch, your food is served unbelievably fast! And the Greek wrap and Cream of Broccoli soup is so good!
(4)Mark A.
fairly standard food for a diner. you get a decent amount of food for the cheap prices. usually go on sundays because a certain other place is closed sundays. the coffee is my favorite in town. still trying to find out where they get it, its like the greek family secret when you ask.
