Delicious, quick, friendly service and the hash browns were my favorite! Everything was gone!

I'll keep it as short as I can. They were out of about 3 things I asked for. Coffee tasted burnt & I was brought creamer that was so old it had solidified. Food took forever to cook. Denver omelette was just ... sad. And watery. I asked very specific questions regarding gluten free options, and was still given toast (I had requested no toast) on top of my omelette. Luckily, I'm not so sensitive that it would affect me, but I know a lot of people are. So-so service and awful food.

Can't beat this 24 hour spot. The food has gotten better over the years, and the pie shakes are delicious.

The short version of my review: The Woodburn Shari's cooks wouldn't get so far behind if they didn't overcook everything. The good thing about our visit is that my mom enjoyed her dinner. Otherwise this would be a 1-star review. So here's what contributes to such a poor review: -Sticky floor under our table. -Dinner took wayyy too long to make it out to our party of five. -Steak cooked to well done (requested medium). -Cold mashed potatoes on plate. -Wine glass had lipstick smudges around the rim. -My daughter's pancakes were dry, tough, and overcooked. -Her bacon was overcooked, too. -Disappointing "fresh" strawberry pie (flavorless, and strawberries were not from Oregon). This was the hangout back when I was in high school... but if this is current par for the course, I don't care to ever come back.

OK - it's Shari's...Not Denny's. But I got service and food like it was Denny's!!! I don't even know my server's name. She only came to the table twice. I ordered the strawberry crepes because the menu description stated "FRESH STRAWBERRIES". Yeah - that was false advertisement!!! 1/2 the berries were "fresh" the other 1/2 were soggy and "previously frozen". My mom ordered the biscuits and gravy. Too much biscuit - NEVER ENOUGH GRAVY!!! It took the waitress forever to come back to the table. When she came back to pour coffee (HOT, mind you) she poured it right on my hand!!! Did I mention that the coffee was HOT!?!?!?!?! She didn't even bother to be concerned!!! Anyhow, I am not in Woodburn often, so I won't be eating there ever again!!! The Shari's in Clackamas is AWESOME! I think the Woodburn team should get some corporate help!!! And fast!

I used to go to Shari's a TON with my family growing up. Almost every time we saw my grandparents it was at a Shari's. This place has actually improved quite a bit since I was a kid. I would have given it 1 star as a kid and they've worked their way up to 3 in the last 15 years...here's to another good 15 year, 2-star improvement!!!

Very good restaurant. I will come back again. I had breakfast here on December 6th and 7th with my friend Brian. One morning I had a Country breakfast platter, another morning I had a griddle platter. Both were good and nicely priced. My friend Brian had the griddle platter one morning and an omelette the next. The coffee here is very good. They have a vast menu with a good variety of dishes to chose from for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert or a snack. They are opened 24 hours and seem to be loved by the local people especially the senior citizens of which they have a specially priced menu and discount club.

The short version: I have never in my life been treated as poorly by restaurant staff as I was when my family attempted to eat at this restaurant this morning. I believe my family was turned away because we had small children in our party, which is ultimately discrimination. Customer service gets two big thumbs down. I cannot speak for the food as we left before being seated. The long version: I was part of a party of six (including 3 small children) who intended to eat at the Woodburn Shari's after attending the nearby tulip festival. Upon arrival, we waited several minutes for someone to come to the check in counter; when an employee finally did he told us he'd find us a table (there were several open; the restaurant was nearly empty) but instead of doing so, he proceeded to go back to his conversation with another employee and never appeared to look for a table. Another employee came up and asked us if we were a party of six, I told her yes and asked if we could go to one of the booths to sit down (smallest kids were getting antsy after this amount of time standing around in front of a pastry case). She told me we couldn't sit in a booth because they didn't have booths for 6 people. I reiterated that my two year old needs the interior seat of the booth and we don't mind being tight on space. The other two adults in my party agreed. She walked away. Another woman came up a few minutes later and I repeated my very simple request to her. Another person in my party even recommended we could move a table or chair alongside an empty booth but she said they couldn't and told me they didn't have any tables and we would have to wait. There were at least a half dozen tables empty in my direct line of sight. My family and I decided to leave and go to another restaurant due to feeling disrespected and treated with very poor customer service. After reading several other comments across multiple review sites, I see my experience is the norm. We were looking forward to sitting down as a family and enjoying a nice breakfast after an early morning trip. Shame on this staff for treating customers badly after we've come to the community as tourists and are supporting the local economy. Next time I'll bring my own breakfast.

Came here on 10/15...had great service and tasty food. I had the steak salad. Was good, but I was a bit thrown off that the steak was on the side vs. part of the salad. Also had the triple berry pie (my fave @ Shari's), with coffee. Coffee here is blah, but I don't expect much in terms of coffee quality from this type of restaurant anyway. The gambling area in the back of the restaurant is kinda weird. All in all, a good Shari's!

Was visiting family who took us here for dinner/dessert. Since we were not overly hungry we decided on just dessert. Heavenly!!!!! I ordered the molten cake with ice cream - dead set on not eating the whole thing. Oops! Ate it all! The other thing I liked was our waitress. We had my 2 year old daughter with us who likes to throw crayons on the floor. Being 8 months pregnant it gets harder and harder to bend over and pick these things up. The waitress was always right there picking them up as they fell! First time that has EVER happened and I was so thankful! Next time we visit - I will definitely be going back!

I have been to this specific Shari's many times but finally felt compelled writing a review after having breakfast there this morning. Over the many visits here, they food were good to very good. This morning, breakfast was very good in terms of quality and flavor. The food is most definitely better quality than the local Denny's here. The customer service is usually bad here, and today was no exception. We were seated promptly but today's service was clearly understaffed. After we received our drinks, we had to wait roughly ten minutes to place our order when it was evident we have been waiting, ready to order. Then it took us twenty minutes to receive our breakfast items. Throughout the whole process I had the inkling the waitress was avoiding any confrontation by "checking in" with us, so she was absent during this twenty minute waiting period for our food. And I'm certain they did not have enough cooks in the kitchen. Bear in mind, we arrived around 10:00 am, after any breakfast time rush or before any lunch time rush. Overall, the food have always been good to very good; the fault lies in the lack of customer service and understaffing.

Great place to eat. Diner type food, and a chain, but GREAT! Pie is always wonderful. Also, open later than most in Woodburn, so that is also a plus! The service here is usually very good, and the location is right in the middle of everything (aside from the outlets!). Up late and hungry? Eat here!!

Avoid this place if at all possible. I've been to other Shari's locations and have usually had pleasant experiences, but the Shari's in Woodburn was awful. First of all, they were slow to seat us. Then it took the waitress at least 15 minutes to come to our table to take our orders. When 10 minutes had passed and our drinks hadn't been delivered, I had to flag down the waitress and inquire about it. She said they ran out of clean glasses. Really? Then my sausage and eggs came out burnt. I've never had that happen before. I mean how hard is it to cook sausage anyway? Our waitress never came by to ask how our food was or if we needed anything else. She's lucky I'm generous with the tip and gave her 13% when she really deserved far less. Never going back there again!

It would get more stars if the service was better, and reading the other reviews, I'm not the only one who feels the same, you would think that the manager would retrain or something? Food was good each time I went with my kids, but twice they had run out of certain foods and that is bad when you have picky munchkins wanting specific things. So yes food is good, service really bad.

Worst customer service I've experienced in a very long time! Over an hour wait and no sight if the waitress or an apology!
(1)Victor M.
Server wasn't very talkative, restaurant is more than half empty and we still haven't received our food after an hour of waiting. Definitely won't be coming back.

Always a good meal. Food is always consistent. Open 24 hours so good for late night eating. Food is standard diner fare, but nothing too over the top creative. Never had a bad experience here and would eat here again. Don't forget to get pie!
