Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

I frequently eat Asian restaurant food. This place ranks among the best delivery meals I have had. I asked for help with vegetarian menu items and they were very quick to point out how I might optimize dishes to suit my appetite. Delivery was quick and friendly. The food itself is outstanding, featuring crisply prepared fresh vegetables. The sauces and spices are just perfect, not overly salty or sugary, as is the case with lesser establishments. This is my favorite restaurant in Wilsonville. Check it out.

Wonton soup is amazing here! Every time I get sick this is where I get my soup! Haven't really tried anything else or ate inside. Always get my orders to go and only eat the soup!

This is a solid 3.5 stars. I'll go back here. Very friendly service, huge portions, and average+ food. Decor is in serious need of updating, but it was quiet and comfortable. We started with the pot stickers, meat had good flavor, could tell they made them from scratch -- a bit too much dough, but we enjoyed them. Did I mention the huge portions? Even the pot sticker appetizer was gigantic, my wife and I were starting to get full after sharing a plate of them! We also got the Shrimp Chow Fun and Beef & Scallion dishes, we enjoyed them both. Chow fun was slightly greasy, but shrimp were only a little over cooked (most places obliterate shrimp). Good flavor overall, although lacking in seasoning (I noticed other tables also using the salt and pepper on their tables).

I would give them a negative star if I could. I ordered food from them and the last two times I have ordered they have been 1 hr plus to deliver a couple blocks from them, my most recent order from this place took two hours for the delivery 2 hours and they don't offer a discount or even apologize for it they don't do anything that could make them seem apologetic for it. Will never order food from here again!! Stay away!!

Probably some of the worst Chinese buffet I've ever had. I don't know if it's because I came at the end but it was all old and dried out. Nothing was good and I ended up wishing I'd gone to the teriyaki place near Fred Meyers. The fried rice wasn't even very good... Tasted like frozen packaged fried rice. Nope, never going back here.

When I used to work in Wilsonville, Wong's was a lunch favorite. So, when, today, I found myself in Wilsonville and hungry for lunch, Wong's seemed right. Boy was I wrong. This place has really gone down hill... not down hill, no, but rolled all the way down a mountain. The pot stickers are still good. But the black pepper beef was just bland and lifeless with tough meat. The dining room is filthy. Don't look down as one glance at the carpeting will make you lose your appetite for sure. The service is apathetic. The only upside is the portion size. One order of black pepper beef is a dinner for at least two... eight or ten if they like good food.

We have been enjoying our visits to Wongs for years and were so surprised by some of the negative reviews! We have some favorites that we can't find better prepared anywhere else. Egg foo yung is always perfectly prepared slightly crisp and the gravy tasty and not over salted Chicken fried rice actually has large pieces of chicken that are mostly white meat White chicken has a generous amount of snow peas that are never soggy or too crisp.

I don't know about you but for me a restaurant has to be clean even that the food is ok the place need a deep cleaning action. Just look the silverware and the restroom, tables. When I was there one of the workers of owner was taking food without any utensil just with his hands and earthing during the buffet time, after I saw that I couldn't really eat anymore.

Really good food especially the hot And sour soup. Lived in wilsonville for 5 years now And I have idea why We waited so long. Loved that they boxed up our leftovers for us.

Ordered from here while i was nursing a leg injury and honestly i wish i hadn't. The food, while large in portion, was packaged in flimsy plastic takeout boxes that broke, and their definition of chow mein is about a three inch heap of bean sprouts with a couple friend noodles on the bottom. Was very disappointed. The fried rice, i have to admit, was very tasty.

Pros: The pot stickers were the best we've had, anywhere, ever. Cons: We had a very bad experience here. There were two dangerous men who ran to the restroom, yelled at each other and then threatened each other, one with a knife and one with a gun. One family with four small children ran out, while another patron called the police. Several patrons stayed to speak with the police. HOWEVER, the police called the restaurant and the owner told them not to come in, and that everything was fine. WTHeck??? The staff told the disturbed patrons not to worry, as these men were regulars. One of the patrons told the staff they should not allow dangerous men to continue to frequent their establishment. At this point, I don't care about the food. We won't return to this restaurant ever. This review is from 2/12/14.

Ordered take out: Order was chicken lo mein and fried wonton appetizer. The wontons are basically just chips, served with sweet and sour sauce. The lo mein was below average. They also did not give, nor offer, silverware. Would not recommend, will not go again.

Americanized Chinese food. High quality, flavorful food. Large portions. Very polite wait staff.

I'm disappointed to see the mixed reviews on Wong's, I don't think the bad ones are accurate or fair. I've lived in Wilsonville for nearly 5 years and have eaten at every restaurant in town with a comparable menu. Wong's has the best food of all. I've eaten here many, many times and never been disappointed in the food once. I don't think it's fair to give them only one star if your delivery was slow and ignore the quality of the food. They're probably a little technologically challenged so I wouldn't trust the online ordering, call instead. But dine in or take out it's always good. You can't go wrong eating here.

This is the wong place to eat. Horrible, insipid, overpriced food. When asked for extra spice, they threw in some extra chili oil without regard for what it would actually do to the dish, turned it into a greasy, inedible mess. Also, it took them 40 minutes when not busy to make 2 orders, forgot the sauce entirely in one of them (took another 5 minutes for them to fix) and didn't provide utensils. Really, really horrible experience and food, I won't be going back.

I will not eat at this restaurant again. I stopped for lunch and paid with my debit card. Couple days later the charge was processed through my bank. I noticed an additional charge on my card. Someone added a $1.00 I assume as a tip to my card. I contested the charge through my bank and received the dollar back. I do not recommend this establishment.

My girlfriend and I moved to Wilsonville last year and immediately started looking for a decent Chinese place, a staple of our monthly eating-out circuit. We kinda lucked into Wong's Chinese, a sneaky little restaurant tucked into a strip mall between a Wendy's and a music store. We were seated immediately (I don't think I've ever seen more than two or three tables with people eating at a time), and were given the standard complimentary hot oolong tea. We both ordered chicken and enjoyed it very much! Since going back, we've ordered many of the chicken dishes, as well as egg foo yung, and several other dishes, always with positive results. Great restaurant when we're trying to think of somewhere to go and feel like having Americanized Chinese food! They've even stuck around a little later for us when we sneak in right before closing, so that was cool, too!

As a general rule, when I'm out looking for a quick bite, I try to keep it in the 4-5 stars on Yelp. Against my better judgment, I took a chance on this 3-star place. Bad idea. The sign advertised an AYCE buffet which was great since I didn't want to spend lots of time. Unfortunately, they only offer the buffet on weekdays, so it was entrees instead. I had the pork springrolls and House Special Lo Mein. The springrolls were filled with tough cabage and nothing else. If there was a speck of pork in there, I sure didn't see it. The House Special Lo Mein was a mix of veg and shrimp, beef and chicken. It was ok, but the noodles were doughy and didn't quite taste cooked. The worst part was the waitress who was constantly singing and humming along with the classical music playing in the restaurant. Between her and the old bitties in the next table chattering about who's moving into the condo next to them, it was too much. $12 and 45 minutes that I wish I could have back.

Best Chinese food I've had out of more places then I can count in the whole Portland metro area I don't know why it has a low rating maybe overly picky people. I have lived in Wilsonville for over 10 years love this place. All Chinese food is greasy this is the least greasy I've ever had. The only Chinese place that actually has chicken in there sweet and sour chicken instead of mostly breading. People should be more open minded.
(5)Daniel B.
Not sure why this place is rated SO low, it is definitely decent! Service was very good, water was refilled and just the right amount of follow ups. Food was very good with the exception of the shrimp, it was not the freshest. We ordered a number of chicken dishes, pork fried rice and chow mein. Presentation was nice with a hand-made floral beet thingy and the food came pretty fast as well. Decor was decent and not tacky, not dive-like. Definitely a good random find, we will be going there again when in the area. Just avoid the shrimp. :)

I've been eating at Wong's about once a month for the past few years. My family loves it, and the people there are friendly and courteous. We live in Tigard, but we will always go out of our way to frequent Wong's. There's nothing nearly as good in Beaverton/Tigard/Tualatin. We'd have to drive to SE Portland (where we grew up) for comparable taste and quality. We usually stick to combo meals because two of them feeds our whole family. My wife, the noodle connoisseur, absolutely loves their lo mein.

The more I come to this place for lunch the more I like it. The staff is always friendly and attentive, and they always know us by name when we come in there for lunch and they love to chit chat. I've only been there for lunch and they have a buffet which has quite a nice variety of american-chinese dishes. I love the green beans and their fried chicken wings! I mix it up with the veggie items and try to stay away from some of the heavily sauced deep fried meat dishes, they are tasty but pure evil calorically speaking, well so are the wings, come to think of it they're all non-diet items on their bar except maybe a little salad and some salt n pepper shrimp, oh yeah they have that too! They have a choice of the two common soups, which I don't have to tell you what they are, right? And for those that are on the run or just want to get take-out they have to go boxes you fill yourself and they charge something incredibly cheap like $4.50/lb. For eat in the buffet runs a mere $7.25. No I am not kidding! I usually roll out of there fat & happy too. Enjoy

I enjoy Wong's. It's one of my regular lunch stops. The price, the buffet selection, and the friendly service keep me coming. You'd better like chicken though. Kung Pao, General Tso, Lemon, Sweet & Sour, Thai sticks, Mushroom, and Orange "Chicken". They only have Broccoli Beef and Peppered Shrimp otherwise. Plus egg rolls, soup, rice, noodles, and a few other things, but mostly chicken. Another down is the dinning room. It's older, fair condition furniture, worn booths, and faded glassware. But for a cheap spot, I return 1-2 times a month. Everything has good flavor, nice staff, they are very consistent, and I never leave hungry.

I've been coming to this place for a very long time, 10 years or more. I work close by, so I've only ever had the lunch buffet. I'm only reviewing the lunch buffet, but this is also a 'real' Chinese restaurant at night, with a lounge. It cost (as of this writing) $7.25 for all you can eat Chinese buffet quality cuisine. I've done this probably a hundred times (yikes!). You are shown to your table within 10 seconds, 95% of the time. Then you go load up a plate and dig in. Don't expect any Peking Duck or even decent chow mein here, but the other offerings make up for this. Orange chicken, General Tsao, lemon chicken, broccoli beef, fried rice, noodles, etc. I could probably list everything from memory. Go in, eat, get out. A great place for a quick lunch, and you can't beat the amount of grub you can put down for seven and a quarter.

Wong's is a great place to get real American Chinese food. We moved from the Bay Area where there are so many five star restaurants of every kind that we were used to eating at. Wong's is excellent for the standard American Chinese food - you can't get better. If you want Top Chef or "Nouveau" food you'll have to go somewhere else but Wong's is our staple and we've never been dissapointed.
(5)chrissy S.
Soooo I used to love this place. My favorite is the chicken fried rice and it is the only thing I have ever ordered. The chicken is actually breast meat not that mystery meat in some places fried rice. But last time I was there we were earing our food and a cockroach appeared on our rice. We called for the waiter and she said they just sprayed. It was kinda gross and I haven't been back.

REALLY a Chinese Restaurant that doesnt serve fried rice in their combo dishes? How about when you wish for MAR FAR Chicken you can only get it in a stand alone dish for 11.95. It doesnt come with any combos and it doesnt come with rice. We left and went to the OTHER chinese restaurant in Wilsonville, they were much more accomodating. A NO GO for me. When I want Chinese food the whole purpose is to be able to get the dishes I like. Every chinese food place has been more then helpful in moving and changing dishes around to meet my needs. NOT THIS ONE. Dont go!
(1)Jeremy S.
I have only been here a few times, but it is great each time. I have yet to make it for the lunch buffet but their regular menu is great. I love the Black Pepper Squid that they have.
(4)Dave S.
Ok so we moved from wilsonville, and then found out that even if its called the same name, the owner and chef have left the wilsonville one and have move to tualatin. Same name different location....

I just tried to order from them on their online ordering system. After waiting for an hour (the estimated time) and my food still hadnt come I called 20 mins later. The lady on the phone simply said no we never received your order maybe next time order over the phone. No apology what so ever, just an attitude of why are you bothering us. Now I get to make sure that my credit card doesnt get charged for this. I wouldnt recommend them simply for their customer service, I never even got to try the food.

Stopped in for lunch with my wife on a Sunday afternoon and we were seated without delay. The service was pleasant and our order arrived promptly. The selections on the lunch menu was were appropriately priced at $9-10. Tastes in food are subjective issues and, yes, there is room for improvement, but my only noteworthy annoyance was the fellow at an adjacent booth and his extended monologue on his cell phone. Our order was more than sufficient in quantity and our dishes were acceptably prepared. While not high on my list of favorites, I consider it a worthwhile option for lunch if you live or work nearby.

Excellent food! Some of the best chinese food I have ever had! Very friendly staff. Very clean restaurant and they also have music and karaoke!
(5)Michael R.
HUGE portions and priced accordingly. Take out is always hot and fresh. American-Chinese quality grub when the mood strikes.
(3)Karen C.
Wongs Chinese restaurant is a typical Americanized Chinese place, with a lunch buffet Monday to Friday from 11am - 2pm. It costs $7.95. They have fried rice and noodles and various stir fry dishes. This is not gourmet food, but fits the bill if you have to grab a quick meal over your lunch hour. They do not have any vegetarian protein sources for lunch buffet so I would avoid this place if you are vegan or vegetarian.
(3)Michelle W.
We love this place!!! Great food and service!!! We drive truck and love to try new Chinese. The only place better, because they make homemade noodles, that we have been to is in Sacramento, Ca. We will definitely stop again when we come through .
(5)Kathy B.
First time at Wongs, will be the last. Way too salty, slow service, mu shu pancake was so old and stale, it was not edible. Haven't had this bad of Chinese food in a very long time.
(1)Amber S.
The original owner of this place sold it a few years back. It was once a very decent Chinese place. The new owners do not care as much about putting out quality food and it has really gone far, far downhill in recent years. Now it is a typical Americanized restaurant, serving sugary and low quality dishes. Greasy noodles, bland sauces, mystery meats, undercooked veggies, etc. Not so good.
