We have tried this a couple times the place feels austere and is more for the tourists versus repeat business. We have not found the food or atmosphere pleasing. In a strip mall is okay but it shouldn't feel like it. The menu is a bit unremarkable and feels like Costco food. I'm not sure what my motivation would be to go back other than I happen to be at the auto store or Petco next door. The wait staff was clueless the first time we went and the second time we waited 15 minutes no menu or water was brought-they weren't busy so we walked out. The times we were served it was ho hum.

I used to love this restaurant, but 2 out of the last three times we've been forgotten. My significant other and I went in for lunch, the front part was fairly full, maybe 10 tables in various stages of dinning. We sat our selves which is always the case at this establishment. A women came and brought menus, water, and took our drink orders and then left. We sat for about 25 mins, while she walked back and forth, stopping and talking to the table next to us, seating another group and taking orders. Finally after she walked to the table next to us, made eye contact with me and then turned around and left again, I was irritated. We sat for another 5 mins then walked out, because it was apparent that we were not getting any service. This is now the 2nd time we have had this happen, the first time I had to find a waitress. The food here is good, but sometimes the service here is not, most likely won't go back anytime soon, nor will it get my recommendation.

I wanna give this place four stars, but I've had too many inconsistent experiences here, ranging all the way from cold food, perfectly cooked dishes, and everything in between. Aside from the painting that looks like a naked, blue Scott Baio with a cat on his head, the atmosphere inside is right on point. That painting needs to get tossed in a dumpster out back. Even though it's in the private function room, you can almost FEEL it's presence while you eat. I hope I can someday update this review with a better score, because I have hope for this restaurant, and I can definitely see that their heart is in it. But it needs a little fine-tuning before it gets there. Don't get me wrong, though. The food at the Uptown Cafe is a far cry better than what you would expect at your run-of-the-mill North Coast joint.

Love this place. The inside is beautiful. Rustic parts are my favorite. The bar is made from an old peice of wood from some place in town (I forget where) .... The place is creative and fun. Great food. Fish tacos are bomb. I work next door at the clinic and we order from them often.

Nice space, neat use of art canvases on the interior ceiling, attentive and friendly server but dinner (fish and chips and raspberry pork loin) were kind of meh. Excellent salad (cranberry Gorgonzola) and great applause for a very clean and spacious disability-access restroom.

I came here with a large group. I tried many of the dishes. DO NOT get the seafood Mac and Cheese. It was awful. The onion rings and burgers are good, the salads are good, fried pickles were the best thing I ate here. Their house made ketchup is also pretty good. I would steer clear of the dinner entrees and focus on the burgers and salads.

Hidden in a little shopping center in Warrenton is this little cafe, which turned out to be the best discovery of our trip to the coast. If you can overlook the view of the parking lot, you'll find a lunch menu with lots of appealing and creative options including sandwiches, salads, burgers and more. We had Pannini sandwiches that included a large fresh and tasty salad for no extra charge. Two meals plus local Fort George micro brews were just over twenty dollars. They also served a special house catsup, which we tried to buy but it's not for sale yet. We'll go back to try breakfast and/or dinner, which also looked interesting. We'll add the Uptown Cafe to our list of regular places to eat on Oregon's north coast.

Delicious burger and sandwich. Had the chicken BBQ with fries. Beware the pickle - not just dill but garlic. Portions are perfect and the staff was friendly and helpful.

I found this place while running errands in Warrenton. Though my first visit, it is definitely not my last. Enjoyed the chile verde chicken tacos and a black IPA from Ft George Brewery. Friendly service, fresh food, pleasant, casual atmosphere. I may return tomorrow!

We had a very nice waitress. Our service was great. Salads were good. Sides were good. My wife had an excellent burger. My ny steak was terrible but waitress made an adjustment which helps.

Lovely wait staff who are attentive, but not hovering. My husband had a chili burger and onion rings. The chili was homemade, but not too exciting. The onion rings were perfect. I had the special which was meatloaf and mashed potatoes. It was a perfect serving. The veggies were waaay too garlicky, but I have to give points for the attempt to have a new twist on fresh vegetables. We were too full for dessert. This was our second visit and we want to explore the other offerings on the inspired menu. What a delightful and refreshing decor too!

Was visiting the area for a job interview and stopped in with husband to have lunch. The place is very cute and the staff was friendly attentive, and pleasant. I had the chicken salad sandwich with a side salad which was great! the chicken salad was really good and you could tell homemade. The side salad was fresh and crisp. My husband had a breakfast sandwich that he really enjoyed as well. We will definitely be back!!

We stopped here as our favorite place to eat in Astoria was closed. The server was very friendly, but the burgers were dry and boring. I didn't want mayo on by burger. When it came there was shredded lettuce, pickle, & tomato. The cheese was glued to the top bun and there wasn't anything to hold the lettuce on... it just fell out when I took a bite. The fries were OK, but there was a tiny cup of ketchup on the side. No bottles on the table. I could have asked for more to put on my burger and extra for the fries, but at that point after one bite I just wanted to eat and get out of there.

Been here more than once and sat trying to get a handle on whats missing. Good food, service good. So it's this. Reminds me of a school cafeteria. Oh money was spent, but the affect is lacking . I will return , but it doesn't make me want to smile about it.

Found this place on a cold December afternoon and was pleasantly surprised by the good food and great service. We ordered a sandwich and sweet potato fries to share, and they brought it out on two plates ready for us to eat. If your in town, you should definitely check this place out.

Utter BS. My daughter has Celiac and the very rude server said "we don't cater to those who are gluten free". Well, we don't patronize restaurants that discriminate. Never again.

Just enjoyed a late lunch at Uptown. Service was good and so was the food. We had some of the house made soup which was delicious and fresh tasting. We also had the fish tacos which the server told us were the most popular item on the menu, they were quite good! 2 of us had lunch and a beer for $20. Great deal if you ask me. Good spot to grab a bite while out doing your shopping at the north Oregon coast. I'm sure we will be back.

Inconsistent and mediocre. I've been in three times and never experienced the same quality as the first experience. First burger was burned to a crisp, second was okay. The taco salad has chili in it, what? I honestly would rather go to taco bell for a taco salad. The chili itself is watery and tasteless. I tried to like this place but all this on top of a very slow kitchen and high prices for such poor quality will keep me away.

First visit last week and had a GREAT burger called the 'Breakfast Burger'. I had the 1/2 lb version and it was just great; JUICY, fresh and everything cooked to order. Wife had the Monte Crista and we came away wanting to go back soon. All and all a 5 star meal!!! So today, we returned and it was 12:30 and they were definately busier. Ordered the same sandwich and got a not thoughly reheated, dry and very average burger. The 'toppings' (bacon, and ham) were obviously pre-prepared. Todays lunch was 2 star or about what can be said for Carl's Jr. I doubt we will return in the 3 days left in our stay. Service is good and the ambience was nice for lunch. Reading the other reviews, I suspect that there is one owner or cook who really cares. The fill-in for his days off should go back to working in McD's.

Went in on Fathers Day for lunch. Wasn't holding my breath for quick service on a holiday with nice weather. But we had great service, even with the place being packed. Food was fantastic, we had the fish tacos, which were the best I have ever had ! I would highly recommend stopping in here for great food & great prices.

Warrenton needed a great dinner spot and this place is it! Friendly efficient staff and a great menu with plenty of variety is what you will find here. The Avocabo Salad is awesome, in addition to seafood mac and cheese, philly cheese steak, burgers, and dinner specials. I have yet to try anything that was a disappointment. Atmosphere is always great as well. Thank you for adding this great spot to our community.

We visited Uptown Cafe yesterday and we were greeted as we came in by a waitress named Ruth. She was wonderful and made us feel so welcome. They have a full menu for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We tried lunch and the food was very fresh and good. We also noticed how clean the restaurant is which includes the restrooms. We think the restaurant is a great addition to the area it is in and will do very well. We will certainly go back to try more interesting items on their menu. We give them 5 stars!!!

My wife and I came here for lunch and we were very unimpressed. It was a cold Pacific Northwest day when we decided to have lunch. Imagine my disappointment as we go through the doors and a blast of cold air hits us in the face. It was not very welcoming. I don't know if they had the air conditioning on or if the heater was broken, but it was not very comforting. We were hungry so we sat down despite the cold air. My wife is gluten-free and she ordered a lettuce wrapped cheeseburger. So it was disappointing when It had fried pickles on the top of the burger, people who are gluten intolerant will understand this frustration. I had the Monte crista sandwich. The soup I had with the sandwich was cold the sandwich itself was cold and very disappointing. Everything tasted as if it came out of the frozen aisle at Costco across the street. My wife requested to have pickle slices. She was told that they do not have pickle slices. So that would mean that the fried pickles that came on her gluten-free burger were frozen and not fresh. Again how disappointing. I had to ask a different waitress for customer service more than once, Because of our waitress being too busy talking to an elderly couple across the restaurant. When it was time to leave, our waitress was again nowhere to be found I had to get up out of my chair and track her down in order to ask for our check so that we could leave. This restaurant has gotten many good reviews thus I'm very disappointed in our experience because we were excited to eat there.

My husband and I change plates i try the burger omg was really bad and he try the pasta he said was bad too we didn't finish the food . my son order Mac and cheese and taste like cream only no cheese!!!! The establishment is clean and welcoming. The service was polite but brutally slow despite the lack of patrons. The food was pretty enjoyable but you need to be very specific to ensure you receive what you'd like. My burger had ranch on it to my surprise since it wasn't described as having dressing. I needed to ask for ketchup, salt and pepper, sugar for my coffee, napkins and never did receive silverware. Just found it to be a bit strange to be lacking so many basics...

Slow service, a yappy server spent 7 minutes talking to a table.. As we were ignored. drink orders taken but not delivered, another server took drink orders....finally delivered. Hubby and daughter liked the mushroom burger and chix tacos. IT will be another year or longer before I go back. Not happy with the service, definitely don't like to be ignored 2.5 stars

Had lunch the other day. Not impressed. The waitress really acted as though she did not wish to be there. Slow service. To add insult to injury. She added 18 percent tip to my bill. When I challenged her on it she said she must of made a mistake. Right! Anyway I won't be back. Poor service mediocre food and high prices leaves only one thing left to do. Find someplace else that wants my money.

I work near the Uptown Cafe but I haven't heard much about it, so I decided to give it a try today. Overall, I wasn't too impressed--Not that there was anything negative about my experience, but I felt like there wasn't anything unique enough about this restaurant that I would come back for. One of my first observations as we seated ourselves were the multiple un-bussed tables in a fairly empty restaurant. Perhaps we just showed up after the lunch rush, but most of the tables remained un-bussed for about fifteen minutes (which in a seat-yourself situation just takes away good seating options..) Service was VERY friendly, but a little slow for how empty the restaurant was. Their (LUNCH) menu offers a variety of sandwiches, burgers, salads, and a few special entrees. They have a very comprehensive selection of local craft beers, as well as a pretty decent list of cocktails--complete with happy hour specials. I was pleased to see they offered not one, but four different ciders! However, we did not order any drinks during our lunch. I ordered the Turkey Monte Cristo sandwich with a side salad, and my dining partner ordered the Chicken Strip Burger with fries. I was not impressed with the presentation of our meals when they arrived, which was only a surprise to me because the interior decorating of the Uptown Cafe is so trendy. I expected something quirkier than white round plates. (But I have a feeling their cocktails are really cute.) The presentation was not sloppy though, and of course it did not influence the taste. I really liked my sandwich! It was a delicious turkey/ham melt, with a perfectly complimenting blend of cranberry and mustard sauces. The salad was fresh and crispy, but lacking in garnishes. While my dining partner seemed to like his burger, I felt like it was an item they could cut from their menu. The strips just seem to have more disadvantages than a patty (such as movement and unnecessary breading). The fries were average, but the Uptown Cafe makes their own ketchup (cool!!) Overall, this is a nice restaurant with decent food (and I'm betting a better place for dinner and cocktails than lunch.) However, the menu did not entice me enough to want to try more and I feel like there's similar restaurants in Astoria I'd rather visit.

Not bad. The chicken tacos were really good and the onion rings were very hot. I did not like the cosmopolitan I ordered. I don't think it was made bad, I just didn't like it. We were waited on sort-of attentively.

This cafe is a little gem! Great fresh food Clean, comfortable and friendly service. Have eaten lunch twice and food has been delicious both times. Great hamburgers, sandwiches, and panini's. Sweet Potato fries are to die for. Will be going back for breakfast AND dinner SOON!

I went here two days in a row and had a tasty lunch both times for under $10. Grilled chicken sandwich with chicken and veggie soup the first day and fish tacos and fries the second day. Love the baja sauce that comes with the tacos...order it on the side to double it as a yummy fry dipping sauce. Very generous portions here! Service was friendly and prompt and the interior was pretty and unique. Outdoor seating available.

I try to manage the voices in my head and only listen to the important ones. As of late, there has been a symphony of praises for the chicken salad at Uptown Cafe. One or two recommendations are worth noting, but when the voices demand that I "go there and get a chicken salad sandwich NOW!!", I am left with little choice in the matter. Cut to me sitting at a table in the stylish Uptown Cafe with a lunch partner who sounds a lot like the aforementioned voices. I follow my muse and order a chicken salad sandwich on sourdough with a side of tortilla crisps. Ironically, my lunch date orders the same....hmmmmm.... I sense an odd connection here. Fresh food, fast and attentive service, a glass of iced tea that never went dry, and a relaxed place to dine... I couldn't ask for more (well I could, but I would be too stuffed to eat it.). Gold star to the Uptown owner for the detailed comment cards at every table. In this "zone of apathy", it is refreshing to see an owner that is attentive to the concerns and comments of the customer. It is rare to feel valued as a customer on this soggy coast, so when it happens, it is really appreciated.

The owner of the comfort food champion Serendipity Cafe scores another win with this second restaurant in the Warrenton area. Uptown cafe feels fresh and has a young vibe to it. I had the fish tacos for lunch and really liked the flavor and that little bit of heat. Good selection of beers on tap. There is outdoor table space and I look forward to trying that when the weather warms up. Service is just right. You seat yourself and a server gets to you pretty quickly, will make suggestions if you ask, and food comes out quickly enough to make the place practical for lunch, but not so fast that it's obvious a lot of microwaving is going on. The server doesn't forget about you either. Just the right balance of checking in with the customer without being overbearing about it.. Congratulations. Well done all around.

Not bad. The chicken tacos were really good and the onion rings were very hot. I did not like the cosmopolitan I ordered. I don't think it was made bad, I just didn't like it. We were waited on sort-of attentively.

Fish taco's were out of this world. Glad I tried something other than my usual.

They need to improve service and make sure the food is properly described on the menu.
