My husband and I went there, one of his work buddies said it was good. They are yummy, the lobster is ohh so yummy and the cam chowder is sooo good, defiantly going back there. The staff was very nice.

For years my brother & I have been at odds when it comes to Baseball teams. For 60 years I have been a diehard N.Y. Yankee fan, since the days of Joe Dimaggio, Phil Rizzuto, Yogi Berra, Bobby Richardson, Mickey Mantle & Don Larsen, just to name a few. My brother, on the other hand was a diehard Brooklyn Dodger & still is a LA Dodger fan. So you can imagine the animated discussions that we had & still have. Well, I have to say that I have recently become a Dodger fan... No, not the LA Dodgers, the Dodgers restaurant, in Warrenton, OR.. A few weeks ago, my wife & I decided to take a ride out to Astoria. On the way there she Googled some restaurants. She found one that sounded interesting called Mixed Marriage, which specialized in Peurto Rican & Jewish food. So, we headed over the bridge to find Mixed Marriage, only to find that it was out of business. Better to call before you drive, next time. On the way here I noticed Dodgers just before we went over the bridge. I had heard of Dodgers but had never been to one. I decided to head for Dodgers restaurant, which I thought would be your typical, fried fish shack. Boy, was I wrong. Yes they have fried, clams, shrimp, oysters, etc.. But the rest of their menu was quite a surprise. They have a full dinner menu that has Pasta, Calamari, Petrale sole & steamer clams, just to name a few. They also have a fairly good assortment of burgers & sandwiches. My wife started off with the clam chowder, which she said was infinitely better than Moe's, big chunks of clams & potatoes & tasted like the clams were just shucked. I had a plain house salad. Plain is not the right word for it, unlike other restaurants, the lettuce was cold & crispy, the tomatoes looked & tasted like they had just been cut & the honey mustard dressing, which was served on the side tasted like it too was homemade. My wife then selected the clam strips, the server, & I'm sorry that I don't remember her name, told Marlene "if you're not that hungry I would suggest ordering from the lunch menu as it's a little less expensive" even though it was about 4:30 in the afternoon. The clams were small, tender on the inside & crispy on the outside, with french fries that were hot & crispy when they came to the table. They offer 3 kinds of fish for their fish & chips, Cod, Salmon & Halibut. They only offer the Halibut when it's fresh. I ordered the Halibut fish & chips. What can I say... nothing beats the taste of FRESH CAUGHT fish. The inside was white, firm & sweet, while the outside was crispy. The fries were also still hot & crispy when they arrived at the table. The pricing is very reasonable & the service was great. The restaurant is on the South(?) side of Rte., 101, just before you go over the bridge to Astoria. I guess that I am now a Dodger fan, restaurant, that is. Guess what.... I just realiized that the restaurant's called Doogers, NOT Dodgers. I guess that I'm still aYankee fan but I've also become a Dooger's fan. Linguini alfredo with shrimp was good, garlic bread was great. Good service, but I didn't like the overpowering deep fried smell when we entered. Halibut sandwich had a huge piece of very lightly coated halibut, cole slaw was apparently yummy (but on the sweet side), crab sandwich needs to be better seasoned and lose the cheese, and the deep-fried scallops were plentiful. Wish they had had a really chunky Bleu cheese dressing, but their ranch was good. Clam chowder tasted like oysters and is too thin. Seemed spendy at $91 for 4 at early weekday dinner, no alcohol, including tip.

My family was camping in the area and decided to stop in and get some lunch since we were out driving around. We all got the Clam Chowder bread bowl and onion rings and clam strips as appetizers to share. Not a bad price for all the food. It all was really good. I loved the big chunks of clams in the clam chowder. The service was wonderful and very friendly. I'm doing 4 out of 5 stars because the chowder was loose, was more like soup. However it was still really good. Also I think a light toast on the bread bowl would be good; but that's just me (I like toasted bread).

We ate at Doogers when we were on our PNW 6-week camping trip. This is one of the best restaurants we found. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food was GREAT! Our server was very attentive. The cocktails were not watered down at all - more like you would fix at home! The food portion size is very generous! From salad & bread to the entrée, everything exceeded our expectations. (I never had anyone ask me if it was ok to put baby shrimp on my salad before. They were fresh, succulent and delicious!) We had the steamed clam appetizer - HUGE! The clam chowder was more like a creamy broth than thick, but abundant with clams and you can't argue with that! We could have stopped there, but were so glad we didn't! I ordered the lobster dinner, which included (2) 4 oz. tails and the meal was at a lower price than you would find even in Mexico! The only negative thing I can say was that we were too full to try any of their amazing desserts that they offered.

I'm giving this place a 3 star rating for their gluten free options, and because the food overall was good, it was satisfying, nothing rave worthy, but good. The clam chowder was ok, definitely not the best, it was more of a soup, than a chowder, it was so thin, just not a fan of it. The food was decent, I really liked their non-breaded salmon, although it was drenched in butter. The coating on the rest of the items was really nice, and not heavy, I liked their breading. The pie we had was even really good. Our server was one of the friendliest servers that we've ever had, while ordering our food, he made sure to check the kitchen with questions we had, and went above, and beyond for us, we absolutely adored him, all the way up until the end of the meal, he stopped checking in on us, and we ended up having to wait forever for things like a to go box, bills, ext.. We waited, and waited for him to cash us out, he never came back, so we ended up having to fish cash out of our purse's instead of using a card, which in the end left our server shorter than planned on the tip. I would go back if someone in our group needed gluten free again, but not much other than that.

This place is just not good and REALLY pricy for the over fried mess they serve. its dated and devoid of charm or design. The disoragnized hostess led us all over looking for a clean table. And really, that's her whole job, seating people, right? My wife's sea food platter was a fired-as-f--k clump of crud. My $24 halbut fish and chips was a bit better, but not by much. And it didn't help we were seated next to a screaming kid. I DO NOT RECOMEND!

Ate at Doogers in Warrenton on our way to Seaside. I remember eating at the Seaside location a long time ago, and recall the food being excellent, if not a bit on the spendy side, so thought we could not go wrong stopping here to eat. First - all of the employees were extremely helpful and polite. Big kudos for the friendly staff. The service we received was excellent. The food was good, but not great. My husband said clam chowder was pretty good. I tried both the cod and the halibut fish and chips. Both were pretty good, but not excellent. For $16.50 for lunch portion of halibut fish and chips, I would have preferred excellent! I can't say I wouldn't eat here again, but not on my list of places I can't wait to visit again.

We selected the soup & salad. The clam chowder was perfect- actually had clams and not soaked with flour. A cup was sufficient. The house salad came sprinkled with baby shrimp. Our server, Tessa, was delightful and provided excellent service. We will return- someday

I've been here infrequently, but a lot of times now. We come to the coast once every month or so, and we frequent pretty much the same food joints. This is our favorite to come to, and it's not about service or anything. I love the clam chowder and seafood fettuccine here. It's pretty much the only thing I get and I've never been disappointed with it. The sauce they use in it is superb, and the seafood always tastes great. The service has never been awful, only once was the service lacking and it was just because of refills being too far in between. We come every month for the military base, so over the years so many places have changed. This is one of the places we still love and come to, that's also still there!

Clean, family friendly, and homestyle seafood. Good chowder, sandwiches, and salads. Not gourmet and I prefer more spices/seasoning, but the food is consistently fresh and the portions are generous.

I have been visiting Dooger's for years. Their seafood is incredibly fresh and their entrees are extremely consistent! Their preparation is simple but wonderful, and the portions are generous. Their clam chowder is absolutely LOADED with clams and has a unique thinner consistency, which I love. Their fresh crab sandwich is loaded with crab and melted cheese. Simple, pure and fresh! I highly recommend Dooger's to everyone in town:)
(4)Lydia K.
My husband and I eat here every time we come to the coast! Doogers still has the best quality seafood in the town, guaranteed. You always know what your going to get unlike the mom and pop's in town. In fact yesterday we ate 2 meals at Doogers. Lunch: the SST and Dinner: fish and chips! However, I must say that the portion size has gotten smaller but prices have not, a victim of the present economy I guess. (The SST had half as much shrimp as in past years.) Service is always good and the atmospheres is great!

"mum" and " mom" wanted to go to lunch and Tuesday's is senior day, half off the whole menu.. So off we went. The place was busy, but we sat in the bar. Prompt service, and a coffee, Bloody Mary and G&t came straight away. Perusing the menu, dinners are either full or light. Light are 3/4 the size of full. prawns, fried, or sautéed come 6, 8, or 12. dinners come with soup or salad, choice of starch and garlic bread. "Mum" ordered pasta alfreddo with chicken. She ate her salad, took hers home and ate half my prawns. "Mom" ordered the two lobster tails.. I'm not talking 4-6 inch either. Half price mind you... Her bill was $29 with one drink! I ordered the fried prawns, which are lightly battered but lacked salt. The salads came crisp and fresh with bay shrimp. I guess this is now a monthly stop until late spring when senior day ends, to hopefully resume in the fall. The local seniors appreciate and flock to Doogers on Tuesday. You'll see us there on Tuesday, in the bar, laughing, drinking and enjoying good food. Being a senior has an advantage....

Wow, their clam chowder was hearty with clams chunks not just potatoes. This is really a great choice if your traveling through town. Friendly people and lots to choose. Thanks Doogers!

Bit like a Denny's here---y'know... where there very well could be 16 year olds in the back with questionable hygienic habits (or lack thereof), not to mention cheffery skills. Wait was teetering on the edge of what was tolerable and sane...loads here to grub. Regardless, some fried shrimp and clam chowder did fill the belly....Nothing too memorable and thank goodness, didn't get gastro from the eating visit.

We visited this restaurant on a Saturday night while on a weekend visit to the Astoria/Seaside area. It should have been a huge clue to move on when we walked in and the place was nearly empty. My husband ordered a hamburger with a baked potato instead of fries. It was a run of the mill hamburger that was equivalent to an Angus burger from McDonald's at a ridiculous price. The baked potato was OK but those are hard to mess up really. I got grilled Halibut since it was the only fresh fish they offered. A seafood restaurant that serves ALL frozen seafood but one kind of fish???? The halibut was not seasoned at all, the rice was bland and almost cold and my salad was a plate of lettuce with the dressing already added to it. For that horrible meal I paid $27 - it was a $10 meal at best. The kids all had hamburgers with fries. The fries were good, the burgers were not. The meal was way overpriced, did not include a drink and my kids who will eat almost anything you put in front of them left food on their plates because even they could not stomach the nasty food. All in all the prices are sky high, the food is nasty frozen fare and the service was not stellar. I would have gotten better meal at the Subway next door at a fraction of the price.

The clam chowder is damn good! 4 stars!

Put a fork in it...it's done. Saw that Doogers was doing their "Roll Back" Menu once again on Wednesdays. Last year, it was 80's night complete with 80's music and the menus from that time with of course 80's prices. Regularly, Doogers is kind of spendy for the quality of what they serve. I rank their quality on the corner of Pig N Pancake & Dennys. This 80's menu pricing made it a pretty good deal. Called to confirm the Wednesday special and had all of my questions answered by a lass that I am sure designs rockets for NASA on her off-days. Should have known wen I asked if they were doing it like last year, when she said, "Yeah, well, errrm sort of." The Wednesday Night 80's Roll Back, has changed a wee bit, in that the entire menu is no longer on roll back prices. They hand you this discount menu that really isn't a great deal at all. Lots of manipulation of "full portions", "light" portions, and compared to their regular menu, it is a lot of smoke and mirrors with a dash of semantic manipulation tossed in. When I asked about the new discount menu, I was told by the hostess that they were loosing too much money when they did the full menu last year at the discount prices. One would think that by volume of business, Doogers would recoup discount rates by bringing in new customers and by increased volume of diners....the fact that they can't do well in spite of low prices indicates that maybe the food, service, and regular menu prices are the issue here. It still boggles my mind that I see this place so packed. Server was the now typical server for the region (gacked out, burned out, post-menopausal, forgetful, fake-friendly, goes through the motions, etc.). Clam chowder was watery, weak, and had more potatoes than clams. Salad was bagged iceberg crap with uninspired dressing. Pan fried oysters were not very meaty nor flavourful. I will give them credit for giving me a large portion of them, but still, not very good. Baked potato was dry, toasted bread was ho-hum. Our server was in a daze and needed many reminders about NO LEMON on iced teas, refills, and just was very cold and not personable. They seem to be very popular with the senior citizen crowd. We did notice that many of them were not very happy with their food as well. Attrition may lead to this place shutting it's doors soon too like the Cannon Beach location. Just a dismal, bland experience. Dining area is sterile with a mood is similar to eating in a hospital commissary. We are no longer going to support this place. Better food at cheaper prices with better service await... We gave you a chance...We now refer to you as "Don'tgers".

service was ok . I got the fish sandwhich it was little rubbery, sweet potato fries was nothing special, We got the razor clams it was chewy but not over breaded. I really think the food should be better. Should be fresh seafood not frozen. Probably will not go back. You can go to long john silver get the same quality for more then half the price of this place. 1 star because waitress was ok
(1)Skip L.
The steam clams were good, the chowder quite good, but my razor clams were so over cooked I could hardly bite through them. My wife's halibut was definitely not fresh although we were told both the razor clams and the halibut were fresh today.

3 and a half! Always get the steamer clams, my favorite place for them! :)

Tasty seafood. Good service. Easy to find. Nice and quiet, even though dining area looks busy.Mistook my sons order for baked potato instead of french fries. Server Jamie graciously brought baked potato and apology. DELICIOUS!!!!
(4)Gina K.
Famous clam chowder? I have my doubts. They do use real clams, and you can taste the fresh milk. I don't think I can call it cream, it's too thin for that. So, it's a step up from Campbell's, but no where near as award-winningly delicious as they'd have you believe. The shrimp that came with my salad also tasted none to fresh. Maybe I am just being picky, but honestly I found the entire experience disappointing.

We had just finished up one of the best 4th of July's I've ever had! Oregon has proven to me at least to be one of the best places to enjoy the 4th! Cars on the beach, unregulated firework action, people respecting everybody else etc. So what do you do the next morning when you've woken up to a strange stuper of alcoholic post-mortem and other weirdness involved with sleeping on the ground? Go to Dooger's apparently since it was the closest breakfast in the area. Fortunately that is exactly what my body needed. The Denver Omlette and 2.5 gallons of water was just what the doctor ordered. My body was refreshed and ready to go enjoy the rest of the day. It was a breakfast place like any other, the service was quick, the OJ was delicious, and the omlette was big and hearty!

We chanced on this Doogers on our way to Cannon Beach. The decor is nothing to shout about but the food was excellent and the service prompt and friendly. I had the special fish & chips and my wife had the crab cakes - both were cooked to perfection and very tasty. The French fries were the absolute best I've ever had.

Dooger's, despite its completely goofy sounding name, is a pretty amazing seafood joint. Let's face it, Warrenton isn't exactly hopping, so the alternative to throwing yourself in the Columbia is to down a stiff drink at Dooger's at Happy Hour and get a basket of Willapa Bay oysters, perfectly breaded for just a couple of bucks. Add a nice beer...and you'll think you died and went to heaven. Not too pricey, the seafood is fresh, their chowder is better than that concrete they serve at Mo's, and friendly wait staff. Good stuff. Minus one star for boring hollandaise sauce on the crab cakes. I'd give them 4.5, though, on account that everything else was fab. And you get shrimp on your side salad. Yum! Stop in, the roof's nailed down after the last storm and pretty soon the sign out front will be back in order.

After having eaten at the Doogers in Seaside and Cannon Beach over the years, I didn't think I could go wrong eating at the Doogers in Warrenton...but I guess I was wrong. The chowder was fantastic, as usual, but the fish in the fish and chips was dry and flavorless, as if it has been sitting in the freezer for years. We couldn't eat it and when we mentioned it to the waitress, she apologized but there was no offer for a replacement. I won't eat here again, but will definitely go the the Doogers in the other locations...just won't ever order the fish and chips.
