A group of us were headed to the beach and we planned on stopping in Astoria for breakfast. The go to place is usually Pig N Pancake. I knew there had to have been some place better then that. I used Yelp to look up a few places and Arnie's Cafe had a few good reviews. We thought we would give it a try and so glad we did. The food was so good. I recommend getting some bacon! The service was excellent! We even asked the owner where she got her bacon from and she let us know. Can't wait to go back!

Most excellent breakfast in a long time. So glad we found this place after deciding not to go to pig n a pancake!!

This place is great! Their hobo is especially good!

The guys in the kitchen can cook a mean breakfast! Huge portions, Awesome food. Waitresses were SOOO friendly and attentive. This is the kind of small town service one get's excited about. I had the "Hobo" which was a scrambled egg hashbrown, ham mix. Oh so good. I was full the rest of the day. If your looking for a good old fashioned breakfast in a cool little off the beaten path place while visiting the coast, THIS IS IT!

This breakfast was amazing and service friendly and quick!!! We returned 3 days later and had the same wonderful experience. They are worth the effort to go!!!

I have been coming from Portland to Arney's for a couple years. Always good food, always friendly, always attentive...except for today. Our waitress (older woman with short dark hair) was horrible. First thing she said to us was "I was sitting here trying to eat and people came in...this is the worst day of my life." While I realize everyone has an off day, her service, or lack there off, was slow and rude. Unfortunately, the food was off today too. I'll still come here, just beware the dark haired waitress!!

Decent breakfast spot. Nicer and pricier than I thought it would be given the unassuming exterior. Interior was very clean, homey, and larger than expected. Service was friendly and prompt. I had the Denver omelette, which came with ham, peppers, and onion, 2 slices of sourdough, and a large portion of hash browns as big as the omelette ($10.25). The omelette was the fold over type, which I'm not a big fan of - I prefer meat/veggies to be incorporated into the egg. It was pretty flat (i.e. not fluffy) and everything kind of just fell apart when eating. However, the filling was very well cooked and tasty. The bread was good, but too much butter for my liking. The hash browns had a nice browning to it, but lacked any binding and could use more seasoning. Huge portions! Menu was basic diner food, one side for breakfast, one side for lunch. Great place for a quick meal. They drop off the check when they bring the food out and you pay at the register. 10% military discount.

Wow, seriously great breakfast veggie scramble with pancakes. My partner is loving the breakfast burrito special.

Despite the unprepossessing exterior, the interior of Arnie's is roomy, clean, and attractive -- like a vintage diner from "Mayberry." Service was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast here is a treat with thick bacon, perfectly cooked eggs, and good coffee. The old-fashioned, feather-light drop biscuits are amazing. Proportions were so large, we took half our breakfasts back to the RV park. We were glad to see they provided paper board containers instead of the poisonous styrofoam other restaurants use. Bravo!

Great little place for breakfast and lunch. Great service with a smile and fantastic food. Good sized portions. Will definitely be back before I leave town.

Very nice little cafe with delicious breakfast! We got there right at opening on Sunday and sat right down. I can imagine the place gets pretty crowded later in the morning. We ordered the chicken fried steak which was delicious if a tiny bit over cooked. Not a big deal. The home fries were totally awesome and not over seasoned. They even had little flavored creamers! The waitress was really nice and pretty quick with the coffee. Our food came surprisingly fast. Nice interior with lots of windows and natural light. We may eat there again tomorrow morning on our way out of town.

Yummy fresh made to order breakfast! Nice healthy portions especially before a day out on the water! Small local diner, where everyone knows everyone. Service was great and friendly. Open seating. We were taken care of right away and coffee cups were kept full and hot. Food came out fast and to order. I had 2 eggs, Hashbrowns, toast and bacon..pretty hard to mess that up. Everything was tasty and the bacon was yummy. Next time I'm needing breakfast while in Warrenton,I'll be at Arnies.

Nothing wrong with it, but it is just a diner. It would be better than average if it weren't so expensive. Service was good, nice waitresses. Food was certainly edible, but really all they serve is breakfast and sandwiches/burgers. Kind of out of the way - you have to know where it is south of Warrenton a mile or so off of 101. Had Corned Beef Hash. It was a bit bland, but nothing special. No homemade jams or anything like that - just smuckers plastic to go "grape jelly". Should be 1/3 less expensive for what you get.

Give the Biscuits and Gravy Hobo Style a try! The biscuits were one of the best I've had. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

This restaurant was near the campgrounds and had ample area to pull in and out with a trailer. I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs. The hubby got some pancakes and eggs. The pancake was very good!! The other couple got the Hobo and the serving sizes were quite large. The place was pretty quiet when we came it...It was a little after the breakfast rush. The service was great and the staff was very friendly. I really enjoyed the biscuits and the hashbrowns. Nicely cooked! Very traditional filling breakfasts here.

The chicken fried steak, hashbrowns, eggs and toast, and a side blueberry pancake! Awesome! More then enough to share with my wife. I will definitely have it on my "must stop" next time through. Excellent country cooking. My dad would have loved it. It's the unexpected treasures that are the best. Don't miss this one if you are anywhere from Astoria to Seaside.
(5)Leo C.
The hobo over a biscuit and gravy was AMAZING. I can't really comment on the other dishes... I did try the huge pancake my friend had, and it to was very good. One note, don't sit in the back if its cold.... gets very chilly! You can tell this place takes time to do breakfast RIGHT!

Read some reviews on yelp, and thought we would give it a try! Walked in and it had such a welcome home atmosphere. Sat down and was greeted immediately with a smile and coffee/water. The menu is awesome! Lots of great choices. My husband got an omelet plate, nice size! And his came with pancakes too! Full plate! My son had pancakes with egg and bacon. The size of the 1 bacon was as long as 2 or 3 regular bacons put together in length! They were also so nice to let us get another pc of bacon instead of the egg because my son doesnt eat eggs. And i ordered the eggs Benidect, it was DELICIOUS! hands down, one of the best hollendaise sauce i have had, tasted like it was made from scratch! The english muffins were nice and fresh! I even added avocado! Perfect! The pancakes here were so yummie! Huge, tasty, fluffy, and definitely worth getting. The staff here were so sweet! Made you feel very welcomed and they take great care of their customers! We also noticed a lot of locals seem to love it here! We will definitely be back when we visit again!! Keep up the great work!

Fantastic breakfast menu! We initially thought the prices were a little high for a mom and pop restaurant, but once we took the first bites, it was well worth it!
(4)Jackie T.
Huge amounts of food. If your looking for gourmet this is not the place but if you are in to large home cooked meal you are at the place! Coffee refills plentiful but would have appreciated refills on water as it was my only drink! Plenty of leftovers! Would appreciate smaller portions for smaller $$$!
(4)Chip D.
The last time I had biscuits and gravy this good was in West Virginia. Portions are very generous. The restaurant itself is neat and clean. Friendly wait staff.

I stopped in here on a solo adventure for my birthday last week. I walked in, very dinery looking, nice counter, rough looking locals sitting about. Perfect for a diner setting. I sat down and chatted with Laura for a bit. Very nice. She knew I wasn't a local and asked what I was up to, I told her about my trip and bday. I ordered this giant omelette. When it arrived, there was a CANDLE in it! How sweet! The omelette and potatoes were delicious. This will have to be a usual stop when I'm in the area. Thanks again Laura!

A local diner this is the go to for your retro diner experience. The good is consistent and large portions served...I mean large! We love the skillet breakfast and basic feel this place offers to keep the "back in the day" atmosphere alive. Not for the yuppie or hipster who expects a sprig of parsley or designer Jo. Good all around food when you're high bogey or want comfort food.

Every local in Warrenton loves Arnie's. Just like Warrenton it's a little rough around the edges but you'll find that Arnie's is the best. You'll never go home hungry. I recommend the chicken fried steak or the hobo. But everything is really good. People complain about the staff? Well it's the same people that have been working there for 10+ years so its probably not going to change. But I can totally understand what they mean by seeming hostile or understaffed, I guess it's all just part of the Arnie's experience.
(5)Johnny N.
Polite, relaxed service in a comfortable atmosphere. There is no way any of the food is healthy, but it's all delicious. The Arnie's Benedict is an incredible creation of crispy hashbrowns with scrambled eggs baked into them, topped with Hollandaise sauce and homemade bacon bits. It's rich and more than enough of a serving. The chicken fried steak is decent and satisfying. The steak is a little chewy but good quality for the price. The coffee is diner coffee. Warms you up, but doesn't taste great. I would definitely return if I am in the area, but will be prepared to leave too full.

Was in town and didnt know the area and yelp suggested Arnies Cafe, right away it was a given since they serve breakfast food all day and they had positive reviews. Cute small place with great service and tasty food. Very affordable spent less than $30 for three meals. Recommend it of you are in the Astoria/seaside area and want to have a decent breakfast at a fair price.

Worst service ever! After stopping here for breakfast on reviews of yelpers we were treated to such horrendous service that we left before our food even came. Let me start at the beginning... 12 tables, 3 servers, and a busboy. Small operation that should be simple to manage. 11:05am- we arrive and are told to seat ourselves at a clean table. The only table open is almost in the hallway to the bathroom but we cheerfully take it and await coffee 11:12am- two other couples arrive and sit at two now empty but dirty tables. 11:14am- server has cleaned those tables and gotten them coffee. We're still waiting for a cup(our table was set for 1 when we sat) and our first round of coffee. 11:17am- the toilet breaks and starts leaking water towards us. 11:18am- server takes both of the other tables orders and disappears to the kitchen. 11:24am- our order is finally taken. 11:26am- we are informed breakfast is gonna take 30 minutes to prepare so we asked for a side of bacon while we wait 11:28am- mop buckets and wet vacs appear along with accompanying toilet water and noise 11:37am- still no bacon or the toast we tried to get while we wait 11:38am- observe our server outside the window we're sitting next to taking a smoke break 11:41am-left $5 on the table for the coffee and walked out. Told our server who happened to be smoking next to our car we were leaving. 11:47am- arrived at Serendipity cafe and are greeted with prompt and courteous service. I start writing this review and order our breakfast. After 15 years of running restaurants and bars I've never written a review like this but I had to warn you all. Unless you like lousy service and long waits avoid this place like the plague! 11:57am- delicious food arrives at our table in Serendipity Cafe. Fairly certain we'd still be waiting for bacon at Arnie's.

We loved Arnie's so much! If I had not researched it beforehand we never would have found it, and even if we had somehow driven past we would not have stopped. You have to turn off of 101 to get there, and the nondescript building doesn't even hint at the deliciousness happening inside. The service here is fantastic. Our server was so kind to our son and right away brought him a water in a kid's cup and a fun little chalk board with chalk to draw on. She was great the entire time and another young man kept stopping by to make sure our coffees were full. OK the food: wow! I can't say anything about the light options (not sure if they're there I didn't look) but our breakfasts were amazing! My husband had the Red Flannel Scramble and loved it. I had the Kielbasa scramble. So delicious! The home fries were perfect, the kielbasa chopped up with onions and scrambled with eggs. It was all piled together with cheese on top and served with toast. We were heading out of town and about to make a long drive so we wanted to be full. Our meals did the trick because we could not stop eating them they were so good! I highly recommend this restaurant if you don't need things to be too fancy and you enjoy amazing food and service. Get there early though, this restaurant is successful enough that they don't need to serve breakfast all day. They closed at 2pm I think the day we were there. Completely worth it!

Had the chicken fried steak. It was good but had a burnt flavor as did the hash browns. My food wasn't burned but had an off flavor from the grill. Gravy was from a mix. It was a good mix but I am always looking for the best homemade white gravy. Husbands sandwich was good and was made with a thick slice of real turkey. Decent basic food.

I've eaten here since I was a youngster. Never have they disappointed! Amazing food. Cinnamon rolls to die for!! Friendly staff and snappy service!

Good fresh breakfast with lots of positives. Really great omelette with sausage and potatoes and gravy on top. Biscuits are quite good and pleasant sausage gravy that is made on site ( could use more sausage in the gravy tho). Respectable poached and scrambled eggs too. Pancakes were not so good tho...

Staying in Seaside for the week...read good things about Arnie's. Decided to take the aprox 15 min drive, to try for ourselves. So glad we did!! They had me at warm syrup...really?! Our server [s] were very pleasant and constantly checking on us...had our water glasses filled at all times. Had a delicious breakfast, everything was cooked to perfection...may have been a bit pricey. But definitely a great breakfast! No more "Pig n Pancake" for us when we stay at the beach!

Horrible! We were interested in going because of the online reviews, but had a terrible experience. Staff was terrible, food was terrible. Just terrible. Skip this place.

This little local spot is pretty popular for breakfast. The fact that it is served all day is a testament to the reputation of the food and cook. Specials are limited but available. Lunch offers a daily special for $7.99. Prices are moderate to fair on most items. They close at 2, so be sure to be timely. Plenty of seating, in two rooms. Some of the booths have seen better days and are placed in odd relationships to these large and imposing pillars in the main dining room. I am not sure if it was a retro thing to keep the roof from falling in, or just a weird design, but it makes some of the booths tough to get in and out of. Tables are available. The cook is the unsung hero in my book. Our food was all made to order, correct, and damn good. Large portions too. Strawberry shortcake was damn good and huge. Traditional style with grilled biscuits, plenty of fresh strawberries, and whipped cream. My blood glucose levels got spanked, but it was so worth it. The bacon on my club sandwich was thick and flavourful, so I know it is the star of many breakfast plates, unless you are one of the Portlandia Freaks who cry at gluten and need to do yoga with your farm animals before you consume them. Arnie's is simple and totally unpretentious. Good food at a fair price. Service was fine for being so crowded, though server seemed to be pretty stressed out by the crowd. It is a tough job that I could never do without knifing some rude customer, especially the weenie tourists that invade our area this time of year. Is it the fresh air that makes you stop using your brains? Are you on vacation from common sense as well?? Damn, people. If you have a sweet tooth and/or want to kill a diabetic, pop in for some cool desserts. Hand dipped shakes and many other goodies await you. This was our second visit in a year (yeah, we are locals, but normally eat much later) and all was consistent and top notch.

Good food. I had the hobo. Hash browns were cooked perfectly and food wasn't greasy. Onions could have been cooked a little longer but they were ok. Nice little breakfast place. Nice people
