Don't know whether the other reviewers are sippin on the haterade or my experience was completely different from everyone elses. I came here by accident today. My friend Denis and I were on our way to go look at a car and since we got to tualitin so early we decided to grab lunch. Nyberg road is this huge mecca of chain restaurants. As we make a left turn on Boones Ferry road we spot this place and decided for it against all these chains restaurants surrounding this venue. When we arrived we were immediately greeted by our bartender Brooklyn. She was very friendly and personable despite all my smart ass remarks about wanting chinese food! We got our menus and why we originally chose this place was the big sign on the windows advertising bbq. Being on the other end of the universe(Tualitin) I would never imagine finding a little hole in the wall bbq joint. I was all up for it. We asked the bartender what their specialty was and she explained their signature bbq dishes were the brisket and also the tri tip. Well that was simple enough so we ended up ordering an order of each and splitting it up between the two of us. We received our orders rather quickly considering our bartender was the only person there. Both the brisket and the Tri Tip were both prepared to our liking. No dryness whatsoever and both choice of meats were very moist and juicy. I ordered the chili and the fries for the sides while my friend ordered the fried okra and fries. The chili was a little on the dry side. The components looked great but the execution left a little to be desired. Fries were excellent and also the fried okra was also really great! Overall the food and service was excellent. Brooklyn was very warm and friendly. Other than the chili the food was great. The brisket was very comparable to Podnah's and the tri tip was really good as well. I would definitely come here again and urge my fellow yelpers to give this place the benefit of the doubt. Happy Eating Everyone!

Was on my way back from Washington and wanted to catch the Oregon duck game but when we walked in to this place all the tables had trash and spilled beer so we walked over to the bar and sat down for a good 10 mins while we watched the bartenders help the regulars. Needless to say we left and missed the game and had an empty stomach. Oh and not to mention when we left 2 drunk idiots try to start a fight as we walked to our car. Sooo... if your not a regular I would avoid this place at all cost.

Not sure where to start at how bad this place was. Unclean with adequate service at best. The food was mediocre at best and after talking with the owner who was unapologetic and indignant about my concerns i would never go back. So many better places to eat in Tualatin than this place.

The food is great! I wouldn't go to hang out at the bar as it really just seems to be a video lottery bar, the staff was really nice when I went in to get take out. They need to put their menu online.

My sister and I have frequented this place several times due primarily to location. The burger was great but everything else was dry and overpriced for the portions. I hate to sound like I am sharing sour grapes but you can be the judge. We went by for a drink after Super Bowl and were refused service. ( I am writing this immediately following the incident) the bartender, Shannon, said we were obviously intoxicated and she would not serve us. She did however serve the only person in our group who was "of color". Even he thought it was weird. Yes we were loud! Just came from a very loud Super Bowl game but how do you equate loud with drunk? I am not sure what happened but we will not be back. My gut says we brought a black man in with us and they had to serve him or seem racist but they could punish us for bringing him by refusing us service. I may be wrong but I assure you, I am as under the influence now as I was 45 minutes ago.

Don't go here for lunch especially between 11-12. A group of us went here from work when it opened and were disasspointed to find out that the chicken and pork were still not done yet. Yes, BBQ takes time. Things may have changed since then, but that first experience keep us away. The place seems like a bar that happends to serve BBQ. Skip this and go to Famous Dave's, or even Bushwacker's, down the road.

I was glad to eat here. Mostly so I could tell my co-workers to skip this place at lunch. This wasn't the worst BBQ I've ever had, but it was far from great. I had the pulled pork with one side each of mac-n-cheese and chili. The pork was pretty dry. The pieces were either very large or very small, with too much fat attached to them. The mac-n-cheese was even drier than the pork. Looked like it was sitting out for a while, and possibly even reheated briefly prior to serving. Unfortunate since the place opened at 12:00 and I walked in at 12:02. The chili was the best thing I had. More-than-decent flavor, and plenty of meat in it. There were beans in there, so you Texan "no-beans-in-chili" types will be disappointed. Also, the beans were just slightly undercooked. Because of the overall dryness, sauces became the name of the game. There were two offered to me. The standard sauce was ok, but was pretty heavy on the salty side. The other was a whiskey honey glaze. Hey, I like my whiskey, but this tasted like I was drowning my dry pulled pork in Crown Royal. Sounds awesome on paper, but I will tell you now...it's not. The atmosphere was strange. From what I gather, this used to be a sports bar. However, it definitely still looks like a sports bar. The windows are mostly covered up, preventing views in both directions. This makes me wonder what the heck is going on here in the evenings. I'm afraid to guess. Decent alcohol selection, both on tap and in bottles. They also serve jello shots for $1, which also kinda tells you something about the nighttime clientele. The service was fine. However, I only saw one person while I was there. She appeared to running both the front-of-house as well as the kitchen. When it's only me and one other table of three people (as it was when I was there), I guess that's fine. However, from a health code standpoint, if you're not constantly washing your hands between handling cash/credit cards and food, I can't help but feel a bit grossed out. This place COULD be a lot better with some effort. Unfortunately, it doesn't even meet the quality level at chain BBQ hell known as Famous Dave's just across I-5. Tualatin deserves better than this.

This review will be extra positive. I am flying high off my 2012 Yelp Elite badge I just got. I have driven past E.B. Smokey's repeatedly and have presumed it is some crappy sports bar that put barbecue in its name to add some interest. I will admit I have been curious. Never curious enough to actually stop. From the outside, it still looks more sports bar than restaurant. A lady on my office mentioned them today and called to have a menu faxed over. Said menu arrived quickly and had meat on it. Barbecued meat. Supposedly award winning barbecued meat. I felt a tingle in my belly. We decided what to eat and I called to place our order. The lady on the phone was friendly but was sad to inform us they did not have chili or macaroni and cheese today. They did have the brisket and pulled pork, tri-tip wouldn't be ready for a couple more hours. Walking in, it didn't smell as barbecue like as I would have expected, but after talking to Jansen the owner, the place is legit. They did take over the spot which was a sports bar. It still has a bar and the big screen tv's and a couch. What they also have is a kick ass giant gas assisted smoker in the back. He was kind enough to give me a peak. I bet at full bore he can do 800 pounds of meat easy. Hopefully for Tualatin he will get busy enough that he needs too. As far as I know, there isn't decent barbecue south of Portland. We got back to the office and cracked in to our food. Lady had pork platter. Pulled pork all day long. She said it was really good. Old man had a pulled pork sandwich that he enjoyed and a brisket sandwich that he complained wasn't enough like Texas brisket. I also had a brisket sandwich and thought it was great. Smokey with a good, if not a hair salty, rub. I looked forward to many more meals and hopefully some mac n cheese or chili in the future.

First time here - had the tri tip sandwich with onion rings. It was one of those times that you just want to keep eating, even though your stomach hurts! The best tri tip and best onion rings I have ever had!!

Ok..Not a lot to say except..OUTSTANDING BBQ!! I had the pulled pork sandwich and my husband had the tri tip. BOTH were great. Service was quick and very friendly. Fun atmosphere with free pool and a dj playing great music. Did I mention the food was AWESOME?? Corbin the bartender was exceptional and knows his stuff. HIGHLY recommend for lunch, dinner and a good time out with friends.

When I went here, I couldn't even get served!! This dingy waitress was too busy talking to her friends at the bar to serve her patrons. There were only a few tables.....and she barely even checked with any of us. I was finally able to order a beer, and had intended to give their BBQ a try. We ended up just leaving after a while. GET A CLUE PEOPLE!!!

Pretty disapointing!! I was excited to see that this place had opened . I went here when it was the 501 sports bar and it was filled with drunks and loud music I declined to eat just because of the noise. So when I saw the new sign and found out it infact had changed owners I thought I'd give her a go. Well the loud music is gone It is considerable cleaner the ambieance is still that of dive bar . The BBQ is not really up to par I had the pulled pork sandwich which had a funny past its prime taste to it the cole slaw was also old and soggy and the sweet potato fries were flavorless and undercooked with only a few dye hard drunks at the bar I can see why there serving old food nobodys eating here!! The place is clean enough to have a beer but Id stay away from the food theres about ten other placeces in Tualatin to eat that are decent. It goes to show you anybody with a smoker can claim to be a smokemaster
