This place deserves more stars. It is an excellent restaurant chain. This location is no exception. Fantastic food and service every meal every time. I am a truck driver and travel all over this country. It is by far the best cafe chain I have ever visited. I wish they would expand beyond the Pacific Northwest.

when you're on a roadtrip, you never know where to eat - that has good food, reasonable prices, are friendly and make you glad you stopped. we did a search for places to eat and liked what we read about shari's. we'll be sure to look for shari's on our next roadtrips. hubby had shrimp/chips - he said they were very good. he couldn't even finish his last shrimp. ashle teased him about it, but he was stuffed. my cuban sandwich was excellent! SO good - tasty, fresh, right amount of ingredients, great bread. would order it again w/o hesitation. the merionberry pie i had was exceptional. being from california, had never had it before. ashle said it was a hybrid between raspberry and blackberry, it was so yummy. hubby had the fresh strawberry pie w/ice cream, and that was superb. i'm a pepsi fanatic and ashle kept my refills coming and hubby's coffee filled up. she was awesome - great personality and so friendly. there was a dude in a tie who left much to be desired re attitude. i'd love to see 'uncover boss' come in and check him out! all in all, an exceptional place to eat - esp if you're on ashle's watch.

The Troutdale Shari's is our place to go after a Friday night hockey game. We come in wearing our jerseys, there are usually Agee other patrons who have been at game too, the waitresses all know us, and they always ask if we won :). Truly, the food is hit and miss (it's either fantastic or just good/okay - depends on which cook is on) but the staff is great. The ONLY downside and reason I deducted one star is there are a group of "regulars" we seem to always get seated near who are quite loud :(.

It's a bad sign when you wait and wait and when your server finally arrives to take your order, she tells you she needs to sit down. A group that was seated at the same time as us, ate and paid for their meal before we even got our drinks. They had a more attentive waitress. Our waitress pointed out that they were busy and told us there were three orders ahead of ours. They were busy but I'm sure our waitress took a break before she put our order in. We cancelled our order and will not return. We ended up going to Biscuits in Gresham and had a great experience.

Well, it's no Village Inn Pancake House, I'll tell you that much... Came in last Saturday (3/24) around 5:15, so before dinner rush. Restaurant is mostly empty and peaceful and our party of six (2 kids, 2 adults, 2 grandparents) is seated immediately. Oldsters get soup, kids/adults get basic burgers and kids' meals. Soup (ordered as a meal) shows up after 5 minutes, but the rest of the food takes a Loooooong time to arrive. Kids get crabby and start acting up. Water is not forthcoming. Waitress tries to be "sassy," and succeeds in only being irritating. Waitress does disappearing act after food-drop. The other patrons tend towards morbid obesity. That's not the fault of the Shari's chain, but I know some yelpers are into that, so I've included that fact here. Pie was good...

I give Sharis three stars because food wise they are a bit overpriced for what you get in terms of portion and quality. But this location is one of the go to late night hangout spots for my family and friends and in my experience the servers are pretty decent here. Good strawberry lemonade, shakes and pies.

5 stars for great customer service! After wandering around town for a couple hours trying to find a decent restaurant, unhappily leaving from another restaurant, we went to Shari's where we were surprisingly greeted with a quick, warm welcome by David (Seth Rogan sound-a-like). He was friendly, personable, quick, and attentive. I ordered half a sandwich requesting to add ham and even though it took me half of the half to realize it didn't have ham, he told me they'd make me another one with ham, no questions asked. There was another small mixup which was already forgiven from an apology, but he went over the top and added a free slice of pie with a scoop of ice cream on top!! The food was wonderful so there really was nothing to complain about. Although it ain't no candlelight dinner, it was a 5 star restaurant all around. Way to go, Shari's!

Love this particular Shari's, (some other locations... not so much)! Always clean, food good and reasonably priced, comfortable and cozy seating and the staff are prompt, friendly and attentive. For those interested, you can also play the lotto and watch numbers drawn on TVs to the left of the restaurant. We are frequent patrons, but I've only had one poor experience which was solved quickly and promptly with apologies.

Great place to eat had the split pea soup and the timeless pot roast for dinner and lemon pie that made it a very delicious meal, the restaurant is always clean and the waitresses are very friendly.

Stopped here this morning. Not many customers seated. I did not receive my coffee for 25 minutes after I ordered it (which I had to ask for). Our server asked for our order twice because she did not remember serving us. After the second time ordering she did not come back and neither did our food. So a different server "served" us if asking for everything three times is proper serving. A disappointment... Will never dine in here again.

Not impressed. Our server was awkward. I'm not sure if he knew what came with what. He tried but seemed to be having a hard time. Food came out at all different times, missing condiments, drinks not refilled. It just wasn't that good. Chicken Alfredo had mushy noodles but chicken was decent. Nachos were dry and just not very good. Breakfast items were good. We took a pie home, it was ok... Frozen food quality, nothing special.

I asked for a piece of pie and the manager threw me out. The service was so bad we had to ask for our drinks to be refilled. To top it off we wanted a piece of pie and when we didn't get the service at the table I went up to the register and asked if we could have someone come take our pie order. The manager informed me that he was too busy to take my pie order. I asked to speak to the manager and he said he was the manager. I told him that the service was poor. He said he was busy with new customers. He then informed me that he would not be able to take my pie order and that I should just leave. I refused to do so so he said I am calling the COPS. I told him go ahead. He picked up his cell phone to call and I told him I was not going t pay for the bad service and over priced food. He said, "Fine leave." I did. Dont eat here they are the worst customer service I have ever seen. STAY AWAY. WARNING BAD SERVICE : MANAGER THREW ME OUT WHEN I COMPLAINED:

Stopped here yesterday (Dec 20th) for a quick lunch on our way to hood river. My wife ordered a Salad and I had a club. All was good till about 3 hours later.. My wife got terrible food poisoning.. been up all last night all evening and this morning throwing up.. threw up the entire salad the first time. She's been miserable. I called the restaurant and they said "we'll have the cooks check the dates on everything" anyway, I wouldn't recommend eating here at all. Stopping by on our way home to get our money back!

We chose to eat at this Shari's because it was a safe bet on a Sunday evening, and we're glad we did. It was nice and quiet inside. The service was fast, friendly, and attentive. The food came out reasonably fast and was edible. What more can you ask of a place like Shari's? We would definitely eat here again when we're in town.

Shari's is my go to when friend's and I really just have no idea what the hell to eat, even more-so when we don't really know what's in the area, as was the case tonight. Our server, Brian, was friendly and hilarious.Attentive but not too pushy, and not hovering. I had an American Chopped salad, also my go-to non-breakfast order. This location did not disappoint. Don't go to Shari's expecting it to knock your socks off, and you'll leave satisfied.

Shari's is the best part of coming to the Pacific Northwest! I ordered the cedar planked salmon. It was disappointing, quite honestly. It was covered in lemon-pepper seasoning. Too heavy for something as delicate as cedar planked salmon. But the veggies were crisp-tender and the pilaf was delicious. I also had the "apple pie in a jar" that my waiter, ever so thoughtfully, served in a dish, rather than a jar. Excellent.

We stopped at this Shari's in Troutdale, OR because we knew that from the quality of the Shari's at home, we were in for a good, filling meal. We were disappointed however with the freshness of the caprese salad my sister ordered and the soup, which tasted like canned soup. My burger was not cooked to the specifications that I requested and was almost inedible. While disappointed in our meal, the service was fantastic! We were served quickly, efficiently, and with a smile. I returned home and completed the on-line survey and let them know of my discontent. While I really didn't expect response, I did get a phone call from the manager, Lisa asking about my experience. I gave her my honest assessment of the food quality while making sure that she knew that our service was exempalary. She took the criticisms to heart and didn't make excuses. She was equally enthusiastic about our server's service and was quick to praise her as well. That is the mark of a true manager!! Willing to give credit where credit is due, and take criticism without making excuses. I will definitely return to Shari's because of this experience instead of writing them off like I'd usually do. If you have a great experience, let them know. Not so much, let them know, they care and will make it right for you!

Pretty typical for Shari's, which is about 2 steps above Denny's, 1 step above IHOP. Good service, great tasting food, creative combinations. Portions could be bigger. Do that and Shari's will be about par with Elmer's.
