I made a reservation a few days in advance for a party of 20 for my birthday. There ended up being some last minute changes to my reservation that I was really not happy about. Susan, who I believe is the manager, or at least manages reservations for large groups called me the day of my reservation to notify me that they had to make some changes to my reservation. She told me I would no longer be sat in the room off to the side that had a seating arrangement that I preferred for my group. This was for my birthday, I don't get this many of my friends together often and I was very excited when she originally told me she could have us all sit at one table! I was so unhappy about the change that I actually called Susan back a second time to voice my frustrations to her. The thing that upset me was that I called the day before my reservation to confirm my reservations, that would have been the time to notify me of any changes so if I did want to make other arrangements, I would have had more time to do so. Susan owned up to the mistake, apologized and offered a few complimentary items. Her apology seemed sincere and her offer was much appreciated. When we got to the restaurant, Susan personally came over and said hello to me and made sure we were taken care of. I feel bad, because I ended up having a bunch of people not show up, so my party ended up fitting at one of the large tables in the main dining room. But they never made me feel bad about it, they even let us add a couple people at the ends of the table so they didn't have to sit by themselves at the second table we had reserved. I went to the Power Station a bit skeptical and left pleasantly surprised at how generous and polite Susan was along with our waitress and the other wait staff. Overall my experience was good, the drinks and food were good and my friends and I had a great time!

I've been going here for several years, starting from 2008 until my most recent visit on 4/21. Went out to eat for my mom's birthday. Eating here often, I was mortified to find out that the "veggie" patty has cheese in it (cheese is not a vegetable). I went to re-order the vegan hemp patty sandwich, only to be informed (this was 3rd return to table) that the menus which had been placed on every table were old and out dated and that I was going to be presented with a current menu. If this was a mom and pop eatery I wouldn't look twice at he hand adjusted mess of a menu which was handed to me. More than 4 options were crossed out. I had 2 vegan options, which were both salads, one which the main focus was a dairy based ranch and cheese. I chose the garden salad w/out any dairy and the waitress proceeded to offer me chicken. At this point, I thought it was very clear that I do not consume animal products. Also, please don't congregate and gossip by the register if you decided to seat customers there. It's not fair to go out, pay $70 for two salads(basically lettuce and oil with vinegar) and a burger and have to listen to someone's work chatter. I'm not upset at the lack of vegan options, I'm shocked and confused as to why old, outdated menus are placed in from of me if there are more current ones available. Some apology, or something would of been great, maybe offer a discount or some free tots or something. Usually I would just get up and leave, this occasion was my mom's birthday so I kept a positive demeanor for her day. Needless to say after nearly ten years of business, I will not be returning to edgefield, and avoiding other locations in the futurre

I have a strange love/hate relationship with McMenamin's Power Station Pub. I love many of their beers and spirits, thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere of Edgefield, but get tired of the boring, overpriced food. I know it is a pub, but that doesn't mean you can't mix up the menu and lower prices for a lot of items. I guess when a place gets popular and busy you keep raising the prices until you don't have lines out the door. I love food, but find far better fare at the average food cart pod. The burgers are decent, but I don't know if $13 is worth it for a decent burger. The fish and chips was decent, but it was $15. Two people, four beers and two meals = $50. The last trip was on a Friday and I had the clam chowder. The "bowl" was fairly small and at $5 didn't seem like a deal. It was watery, but had good flavor with lots of clam pieces. The service is usually pretty good, but the Power Station can have fairly long waits, depending on the day, if there is an event going on and maybe even the time of year. I have been here at least a dozen times and I am always happy with the rotating beers. I get my growler filled with something special that I can't otherwise get. I do recommend a visit because Edgefield is amazing and the beer and spirits (rum is my favorite) are very good. Don't be expecting much from the food at the pub. I haven't been to the Black Rabbit in years, but the food there was very good, but very expensive.

Don't have high expectations for this place. Theyll disappoint you at every turn. Food: bland, boring, mediocre, not satisfying Service: barely passing because they have more tables than they can handle Wait: 30-40 minutes to your food

It was a good place to catch the Super Bowl in the theater part of the pub. The showing of the Super Bowl was free and seating was first come, first serve. We got there early enough, that we had our pick of where we wanted to sit. The waitress was very attentive, which is not typical of my experience at McMenamins restaurants, but very much appreciated! I asked what on the menu was vegan, and she pointed some things out, but said there was a menu with keys that told you what was vegan, vegetarian or gluten-free. It also pointed out regular menu items that could be made into vegan or gluten-free by omitting certain ingredients. Very helpful! I ended up ordering the Grateful Veg Burger: vegan hemp patty, walnut-pomegranate spread, & all the fixins...yummy!

I love going to Edgefield for the scenery, pitch & putt golf, live music, Jerry's Ice House, Little Red Shed, Hammer Head and Bagdad ales. But I too have been very put off by many of the rude servers and long waits especially in the pub. However I once ordered a pizza which came out burned. We ate most of it anyway. When the waitress asked if everything was ok, I told her the pizza was over cooked. She took it off of the bill. Outside at the loading dock the service is usually better unless they are very busy. I hit it lucky on an August afternoon recently and my server was fantastic. I'm disappointed that the Captain Neon burger has gone up to $10. Go for happy hour (3 to 6) and get a decent cheeseburger for $5 and a big order of Cajun tots for $2.50. Dip them in Portland organic ketchup or ranch dressing, yum! Ales are $3.75 a pint and $10 for a pitcher. Grade D for service most of the time and C+ for food.

I was hoping for more, but it wasn't going to happen. From the server who forgot an order (an it taking far too long to get the lost order for our unlucky fourth guest), to mediocre beer, to a tab not worthy of what we had. Overall a meh experience at best.
(2)Christian H.
Very frustrating how long of a wait it has been for food and seating the last few times. They need better planning to accommodate the people that they already know will be there. Very poor planning

Here at the Powerstation to watch Birdman. I was a little surprised that it cost $9 per person for evening films, but was pleasantly surprised by the newer seats. It has changed considerably since I was here last, probably 5 years ago or so.
(4)Jordan S.
Awesome experience at the Power Station today. The truffle fries are out of this world, the clubhouse wrap was delicious, and the "Uncle Phil" cocktail did a wonderful job of showing off the flavor profile of the Phil Halzelnut liqueur. Service was spot on! We'll be back!
(5)Ron T.
I remember being here years ago then lately. Nothing much has changed. The service is rushed and lousy. The environment, quite dirty. The food is McM's trademark. It's ok but must be great for tourists. As a local, there are better and tastier places than this one. But since you're in the area, you'll survive with the mediocrity.
(2)Senan D.
The truffle fries! Do it! Screw the diet just order them and a craft beer or cider. The cocktails are good too. The bar is good for catching up with a friend or friends and the dinning room is a place to take the family and have a good time. The food is a little pricey but for a treat night it is perfect and fun. The stuff is good and they are open late. Also you can chill and travel the property make a night of it. Have fun!

Not impressed. We had to wait an hour after putting in our drink orders, and it was another hour and then some before we got our food. There was a concert event going on, but obviously they should have been ready for that. We were here for a business dinner, so we were a large group, but we had a reservation, so it's not as if we caught them unprepared. The server also had some issues with remembering what we ordered, and some of the extra sides and toppings we asked for were not delivered at all. The food itself was good--nothing to rave about, but definitely good. McMenamin's beer is always good, but the cocktails were deplorably light on the alcohol. Overall, I would not recommend coming out here for the restaurant experience.

McMenamins eateries are never my first choice, but that's because the hipster wait staff always seems lackadaisical, borderline angry or irritated. Like they get their customer service training from the management of Abercrombie & Fitch. Tonight was a different story though. Tonight, our waiter was quick, polite and very attentive. I suspect he isn't a real hipster and was just able to fool the person doing the hiring. It's like he didn't get the memo to be aloof. Not only did he keep our ice water coming, but he asked several times if our food was to our liking and if everything was okay. That pleased me immensely. I kept thinking "His mama raised him right." My friend complained that she doesn't normally love their food, but she ended up gobbling down her turkey sandwich (no pun intended) and tomato bisque soup. So did the guys we were with. My Aztec salad was good, but their chipotle dressing could have used a little more kick. Not that I didn't finish most of it. I just also need my food spicy-spicy! I'm so happy to say that we had a really great experience tonight. Not only was the food and service great but it's always fun to walk the group afterwards. It's like a labyrinth of creepiness and quaintness combined. I won't stay the night, since I get spooked easily, but I'll be back for concerts - and when I am, I will be eating at the Power Station Pub.

This is my second or 3rd experience at power house. So 2 weeks ago Saturday we went out for one of my friends birthdays, she chose this place and the wait was over an hour long! Ok, it was a busy weekend night, finally get in an I'm STARVING, look at the menu and I'm shocked/disappointed over how short the menu is, nothing looks that good, the waitress asks if our table of 10 is ready, birthday girl says yes, so she starts taking our orders, i wasn't ready, so I asked her what she liked best of the menu, quickly she responds with an eye roll. I decided on the onion soup and Cajun tots. Waitress drops off 3 orders of tots at our table, I'm confused who ordered what and if everyone is eating my tots while i sit there and starve, 2 tots left and I quietly stop my waitress and ask if some of those are my tots or are mine coming out with my soup, she says "oh yeah one of those are yours". A man finally comes out with our food, by this time I'm ravenous and I notice this isn't the soup I ordered, I stop our waitress who already seems annoyed with me and i tell her that my soup doesn't look like onion soup, she responds with "oh yeah sorry we ran out of that". So she's just going to bring me whatever soup is in the pot?! She did offer me something else off the menu, got the fish and chips. By that time my dinner was totally ruined and the of the party of people I was with were shocked at how rude our waitress was and what a bad experience I had! I paid for my friends dinner, $40 for our meals. Never again.

If you want to step away from the normal scene of portland, this is it. Great clean fun with lots to do.

Nice atmosphere and good happy hour deals from 3-6 and 10-close. Great service: a friend's pizza order was messed up but they comped it and the manager came by to apologize. Worth it if you're in the area.

Power station had me a bit annoyed. First, it would just be nice when you are hitting all of these places on your passport to find somewhere to just have appetizers and not get dressed up. We thought that's what we had here, because our dinner reservations were at the Rabbbit so this was gonna be what held us over. We only wanted a drink and some appetizers and although the waiter was polite he actually said "so when are you gonna order some real food" which, ehhh tacky. we were there for less than 20 minutes and our appetizers weren't gone and we were still on our first drinks. I hate feeling like I need to order more, especially when there are plenty of open tables so we aren't holding you up. Later, we went to the movie and I came down to order popcorn. The front desk tells us that its free so we decide to go. First, I can't find where to order, i walk back and forth between all the entrances and servers asking and am finally told to stand in front of the kitchen and ask the cook. Then, there's no popcorn, its a movie theater people, have a little something to snack on. Then, when i get tots because its the only thing under 12 dolalrs, the cook adds on the price of my movie ticket, without even asking. I thought, hey, these tots are expensive! haha He says, that's with the cost of the movie. And I said, Well, they told us it was free when we checked in. And he says, "They were wrong." So I tell him I need two tickets, because my boyfriend is in the theater already (along with 20 other people who never paid either but apparently you only have to pay when you go around the corner and get food from this guy, not at the entrance) So then, they give me no movie ticket. So there's no proof of who even paid! When we get in the theater I am feeling a bit annoyed, because I know that no one else paid, and just the way he went about it was rude. So then this guy comes in and he says, the tickets are complimentary to everyone- and I said, well I paid, and he says, well, I mean not complimentary. But no one is listening and no one leaves to go pay. So the system is just ridiculous. I felt a bit cheated. Then, because everyone in here was just bored and rolled in from their hotel rooms and didn't even have to pay, they didnt' care about the movie at all- they talked over it the whole time. A nightmare! ughhhh get it together!

Went with several friends for the 102nd Birthday bash & it was my friends birthday too. The birthday girls burger was WAY under done she didn't eat it & she never complains but the waitress didn't even ask about it being uneaten. We both had ordered Well well Done & ewe very raw, I sent mine back immediately & had to wait another 10 mins while the rest our group ate, my friends offering me tots since they took those with the burger too. We also got caught during break time so two different servers helped us & our bills got mixed up too, drinks on wrong bills ect. Not the best experience but the bands outside we're great!

This return visit to the Power Station was entirely inspired by Sean McMenamin's effort to reach out to me after a horrible previous experience. While his reaching out was a class act in my book, sadly enough, not much has changed at this pub. Let me start off by saying we temporarily had a Ginger Goddess of a server (not even our "official" server, she was giving our assigned server her break) named Felicia. Wish we had been in her section because she was amazing. Her warm kind demeanor put us at ease and gave me hopes that everything was going to be great. She needs a raise and a promotion, immediately. Right off the bat the silverware was dirty (see pic). A piece of food was stuck on the tip of the knife. Needless to say, not at all appetizing. The place, as usual, was SLAMMED. Great for McMenamin's, sure, but not great for patrons as both the quality of the food and service gets spread very thin. The menu here is surprisingly basic and lacking any creative flair. I mean this is one of McMenamin's flagship locations. I'm looking to be wowed here, something to match the incredible grounds, bars, entertainment etc. Unfortunately, it's not to be found at the Power Station. They kind of have you between a rock and a hard place here too with the only other food option being the fancier and pricier Black Rabbit restaurant. Maybe if they opened another restaurant it would take some of the pressure off this place which is obviously struggling to keep pace with the crowds they draw. We kept it simple hoping to make things easy on the kitchen. We ordered two burgers cooked medium with side salads and a small order of tots. Both burgers arrived well done. We shook it off and were happy just to have actually been seated and eating this time. The Ranch salad dressing for one of the salads was visibly curdled. Thankfully, our server brought out another salad with fresh Ranch in a timely manner considering she was buried with customers. This is our last visit to the Power Station. I love McMenamin's and Edgefield is an awesome venue for lots of reasons. However, I'll be sure and eat before I visit Edgefield again.

Ok, I eat here a lot. Some might even say excessively. Why you wonder? Well, it's got a great vibe, it's super loud so it doesn't matter if my kids lose it, it's set up well for groups. The food is decent. Not the best, but not the worst. The happy house is GREAT! The beer is good in my opinion. I always get a ruby.
(5)Douglas W.
Amazing food. Awesome place to grab a beer and food and chill with friends. Good times.

Came here the other night with a few friends. The food was pretty good. I absolutely loved the burger bun. It was like none I had ever had before. I ordered the Mouth of the South burger. The description made it sound like it would be fairly spicy, but I didn't find it spicy at all, not even equivalent to a jalapeno. I also ordered the cajun tater tots but didn't find those spicy either, and they were a slight crispy for my taste. Our server was very nice even after we had to ask for more time several times because we were busy blabbing instead of looking at the menu. Overall I would love to come back and try a few of their other sandwiches.
(4)Julio O.
Food was excellent and lots of new beers to try
(4)Chris H.
The cajun tots were awesome, and so were the truffle fries. The "slider" was nothing to write home about, and I did not like the bread they used at all. They should definitely think of a way to make their bread more palatable. The beers and the ciders are good, and of course, its an a very unique atmosphere. Makes a great date experience obviously, and they were even having free live music on the grounds. Can't beat that.

I don't understand how a restaurant can mess up so bad. Wait time was 20 minutes even though there were plenty of tables available. Ordered our food and drinks- food took ages to come out. And my friends pizza came out 15 min before the rest of the food. My friend was respectful and waited for our food.. But by the time our food came his was cold. Fireside pizza- basic, not worth remembering. The dough was thick, the pizza was lukewarm/ cold, and the quality wasn't there. Basil and garlic burger with tillamook cheddar (added fried egg)- it was dry. Where was the sauce? The meat was dry, the bread was meh, and it was not done well. Aren't burgers supposed to be juicy? The tater tots were too crispy- 80% crisp and 20% potato. Fries- I would hope you don't go wrong with these. Half a turkey sandwich with cream of artichoke soup- the cream of artichoke was super watery. Flavor sucked. Wasn't creamy at all. The turkey sandwich was typical. Friend asked for ranch sauce and she never got it. The server was never around when we needed him. The best part was their blackberry hard cider. We had just come back from hiking up multnomah falls and was starving, so you would think the food would taste better than normal. Nope. Maybe itl taste better when you're drunk (as a lot of people there was).

A nice spot on the Edgefield grounds for the traditional McMenamins fare people have come to know and expect (burgers, Cajun tots, etc). It also has a nice outdoor patio with a large fire pit - great for when it's a little chilly, but you still want to be outside. Ample seating in the dining area. The servers and bartenders were really friendly as well. ** While most McMenamins still have their Happy Hour on the weeknds, Edgefield does not.
(3)Vik M.
Try the Wilbur jumbo deluxe ! Fried egg, bacon, burger veggies, cheddar, and crack. Or at least that is what I think the ingredients are. It is a very delicious burger and very filling. I shared a plate with my guy and got full with half the burger and a half order of chili. Now, the chili, the terminator stout chili is the best beer infused chili I have ever had. Kidney and brown beans, beef, diced tomatoes, and crack. Again, maybe in the ingredients used... Who knows! This chili wasn't too hot or overpowering and was so filling. I had to remind myself i was in public before licking the bowl! I love this place for lunch and dinner. The prices are much more affordable than the black rabbit for those meals. The ambience is also a lot more laid back. Normal outfits for the wait staff instead of dressing up in fancy uniforms. Try this place and enjoy!
(5)Gabie L.
Love this place! They have happy hours but it works only for weekdays; food and drinks deal are really great for happy hours menu. Among regular menus, I really like tuna sandwich!
(5)Brian M.
I am almost through with this location. It is a great spot with beautiful grounds but the service in the pub is generally horrible. It took over ten minutes to get a sample of beer poured when the place was empty. It was over 20min before I got a full beer. I only had one because service was so slow. On our last visit the place was packed and the AC was off. Horribly hot and sweaty. Strangely though, our server seemed to hustle out the drinks even with a full place but the place was so hot that we were all miserable by the end of the meal. The food is standard McMenamin's fare.
(2)Connie P.
Well I bought a passport because I normally love mcmennamins, however today's adventure was lackluster. Host sat us down with no server available apparently the server never showed for their shift therefore we never got served till I could find someone to flag down 30 min later since every server was running around. Not sure what happened but the management team should have addressed it and apologized at our table, that never happened. On another note I had no clue there was an event going on and happy hour was not going on because of it,maybe you should disclose that at the entrance and remove the happy hour menus from the table. Extremely disappointed in today's visit
(1)Selena N.
Went here on the way back from a hike...had to wait an awful long time for the food...even the appetizer of tater tots! Drinks come very fast though! They were nice enough, but to me the wine was pricier than it should be and wow..the glass that it came it was really dirty looks wise. A friend took a pic and it was pretty gross...I have to say. I have the pic to prove it!! Thankfully the wine was taken off my bill. Please clean and inspect your glasses a little better! I've had better service at other McMenimans is all I will say.
(3)Jennifer W.
Just came here for a quick bite to eat it was great food and my server lance was awesome it was super busy and he was on top and of making sure my food was good and my drinks were full!!! Will definitely come here again!!!
(5)Scott S.
Only place to mom mun Down food, Love this place. Come one and come all. Look here, it's awesomely the best place to go and hang out with friends
(5)SK W.
The details of my original review are not changing but Sean the bar manager contacted me and we spoke on the phone. I feel they truly do care about improving their service. I think after my conversation with Sean I would certainly give the place another try. Perhaps I just hit it on a bad day. In fairness to Sean and a previous good experience last October, although we did just order appetizers, I decided to upgrade my review to 3 stars.
(3)Ania A.
This place is awesome. Not only is the pub great, but visiting Edgefield itself is an experience. The food was great, our server was awesome, and the atmosphere inside the pub is really cool. We definitely plan on returning, earlier in the day next time, so we have daylight to tour the incredible Edgefield grounds.
