Very very slow! Took 20 minutes to get a malt. Food was good though, management was very nice, and comped my dinner for the wait! So not great, but not horrible.

We gave them a second chance today after poor service and bad food last time. We didn't even get to order, the kid at the counter was aloof and just kind of screwing around while the line grew and grew. This place is filthy and the restrooms are not attended to. Can't believe they haven't been closed. Drive 5 miles to Newport and go to Arctic Circle instead.

Save yourself money and drive to Newport. Tiny chicken strips and it. Was twice the price of Burger King in Newport. For a family of five it cost $40+.

DQ is my favorite restaurant and I have been to most of them in the state of Oregon. The one located in Toledo is one of the worst. First, the prices are much higher than just about anywhere else. They do have the $5 lunch that all DQ's have, but they rarely participate in any other national or region specials that all of the other DQs are promoting. They also don't take ANY gift cards and told me on 3 separate occasions that their registers "couldn't process them." Every other DQ can, so maybe they should get new credit machines. I lived in Newport for 2-1/2 years and I went to this DQ a total of 6 times. Every time my order was incorrect. Hamburgers that should be mayo only were made with the works. Chicken strip baskets with ranch would be given gravy. One of the first times I went in there I wanted a standard deluxe burger. They told me they only had a button for deluxe cheeseburgers, so they would have to charge me for the cheese and then they would put a special instruction to not add the cheese. I worked for a DQ for 6+ years and I'm pretty darn sure there is a deluxe burger button with NO cheese. I agreed to pay for it and wanted an Arctic Rush instead of the soda. They wanted to charge me more than the price of a standalone drink to make the substitution! It would have been cheaper to get the drink and then order the AR separately! I talked to the manager and she was very rude about both of these issues. She tried to tell me that all Dairy Queens only offer cheeseburgers and didn't have an option to buy a regular hamburger. The only problem with that is that every other DQ I've ever been to has sold me a standard deluxe burger. And she seemed very put out by having to refund my money for the AR substitution (they charged me the additional $2+ dollars without telling me it had an increased cost). It was cheaper to buy the thing separately so I did that and it did not make her happy. The other major problem is that they are enormously short staffed. At most, 3 people will be working during a busy shift. 2 people more often than not. It makes everything take forever. And finally, the girls up front who handle money and make ice cream -- don't adjust your hair in your face and then touch my food or cone! That's not sanitary. Put your hair in a bun or ponytail for crying out loud! For a restaurant that is my absolute favorite, I couldn't bring myself to eat at the DQ in Toledo because they were THAT bad. Definitely avoid them.

Very slow service, high prices, but reasonable food and excellent deserts.
