    Great burgers and food!!

We went in for food. Got a bowl of beer cheese soup and shared an order of fish and chips. We didn't have beer. My boyfriend ordered a coffee that was served to him ice cold. They did start a new pot, but it arrived after our meal. The soup, and fish and chips were terribly bland. The French fries were actually pretty darn gross.

Nadia cooked a perfect, magazine cover ready burger that was one of the greatest burgers I have had in Oregon! The garnish, toasted bun and house made chips were seasoned just right! The 9 beer sampler gave us a chance to see what we will have to drink. Here is where it got weird. We waited for service. I had to get up and go wait in line for more beer. I was waiting for the line to get smaller. I ran up before it got longer. The folks in line and rookie cashier made it seem like for ever. Staff standing around. Salt and pepper shakers being filled. Glasses being washed and several of them made eye contact. I left mad. No beer. No growler or cool looking hat for me. Think great food and beer with mcdonalds style service. Five stars for the food. Liked the samples. Did not like standing inline again. Yelp says long enough.

Bravo on your curbside appeal. The establishment dresses up well! The outside seating was most accommodating to my newly acquired pup~ I ordered a "Big Salad" not so big ~ and not so well put together ! Expect to stand in line to order ~ I was totally disappointed with the lack of customer care with the poorly designed fast food feeling. My pup on the other hand received excellent customer service with a bowl of cool water upon seating!

Well what can I say? Excellent beer options. What else is needed? I had the fried cheese curds, amazing while hot. The beer very flavorful, and cold. The staff attentive and aming to please. Shuffle board is free and begging for a tender touch. Many there to call challenge and encourage. A must if your overnight in Tillamook.

Decent beer, pretty mediocre food, long wait for food, nice workers, neat atmosphere. Stopped in here while passing through mainly because it was the only place to eat. Burger tasted like something I could have barbecued in my backyard, except a lot smaller and not as good. Bomb french fries and the beer was not the worst I've had. You order at the counter but the staff is super friendly. Cool atmosphere, you can see the brew system and they have a shuffle board table while you wait for your food. Not really worth it, but if your hungry and don't wanna wait til the next town then it's not horrible.

They have had a lot of awards for their brews; I'm sure they are well deserved. I go for the food. I had the Reuben, with cooked onions. Very good sandwich. I'll jump on about anything "house made" for a try but I am sorry I had the house made potato chips here. Nothing good to be said about this. Avoid them like the mumps. He had the fish and chips. Pretty lousy. Some sort of panko breading. Three pieces of overcooked fish. Both dishes and drinks clocked in at a little over $30, which is breathtaking for pub food. Pass quickly unless you are into beer. I'd say pick up a growler and get your munchies elsewhere.

A wonderful place for comfort food. Thanks. I had the Ruben sandwich. The staff were friendly. Good atmosphere. A hidden gem and recommended by the Cannon Beach Tourist office. We are from Vancouver, bc. Great Friday night dinner

The man who waited on us had the customer service skills of feral cat. He was robotic, slightly sarcastic, and totally unhelpful. My first and last visit.

We were passing through town and saw their sign and decided to eat lunch. We shared the sample flight of 9 of their craft beers and loved them all! Excellent, smooth drinkable brews to satisfy any palate. The oyster basket was perfect, lightly breaded and fried with outstanding homemade cocktail sauce and perfectly cooked french fries. The Health Nut Sandwich was fresh crunchy and delicious. Everyone was happy and very satisfied.

We got in quick for lunch. We brought our newborn daughter, which was not a problem at all. Food was good, and beers were better!

We showed up mid afternoon on a sunny weekday. Chose the patio because our little dog was with us. We liked the cold brews, but they were a little on the expensive side ($5.25 each). The "neighborhood" around this place has little-to-no "vibe" at all, so don't expect to find too much charm or sense of community on that corner. Next time (if there is one) we'll try the food ...looking around us, it seemed most people were there to eat, more than to simply experience a refreshing tap room beverage.

I would have rated it a 5 star but nobody got back to me about a brewery tour. Elk burger was good but make sure to get it with smoked cheddar. I ordered the hot burger but with jalapeños on the side it was still hot. Cheese curds are awesome with their chipotle sauce.

Great to see a new business in Tillamook, and a brewery at that. We stopped by for lunch on our way south. You can sit inside or out. Inside gives you ringside seating for the brewing process. It's actually pretty noisy, add in loud music and it's not a great place for conversation. Check out the red Marmoleum floor, it's beautiful. Outside seating is out in front. Not much to say about that. The food selections are fairly ambitious, including elk burger. Neither of us was all that impressed with the food. Apparently new to the establishment is semi table service : you order at the bar and they bring the food to your table.

  • Oh C.

Great food, great beer. The fish and chips were delicious. Elk burger cooked perfectly. A must stop along our coastal road trip.

  • John D.

The burgers are alright, nothing amazing but they are perfectly adequate paired with these amazing brews. The Kiwanda cream Ale is the stallion of this lot but the Silverspot IPA was interesting too. I so enjoyed the Tsunami Stout of my sampler tray. Come in and give it a whirl, worth the stop for the brews and the food is good enough.

Traveling for work I often find myself searching out the local brewpub and eatery in an attempt at regional cuisine, to chat up the locals or have a good drink and learn a little about the area I am visiting. Tillamook OR is home to one such Pub and I decided I would give it a whirl and see what it had to offer. Anytime I am this close to the ocean I default to a good Fish and chips and I can almost never escape the siren song of a Beer Cheese Soup form a brew pub. Call me old fashioned but the soup always gets me. I ordered their version of Fish and chips and though it was well cooked the portions seemed underwhelming and the fries were obviously out of a bag and not of the highest quality. The fish a flaky white variety was panko crusted and lacked the basic seasoning that could have made them a delight. the soup was also lacking the usual tang of a good hearty soup. In the end this kitchen in this brewpub just seemed lazy or inexperienced, with a few minor tweaks to some recipes this place could be really special. 'But alas as it sits, even with the friendly staff and fun atmosphere it simply does not cut it.

Food was great - fun atmosphere and delicious beer! However, I was disappointed that they do not have any kind of kiddo changing table in the bathroom. Made it very difficult.

I had the brewers burger, and while burgers aren't necessarily the litmus test of a place, I've had plenty that sucked. Not here. 1/3rd pound local grass fed beef, light pink center, Tillamook cheese, grilled brioche buns and I had the homemade chips. Outstanding! Pelicans beers are just as good, which added to the experience. Nice small tasting room overlooking the production brewhouse below. They even have a shuffleboard table!

Loved it! Great food and beer!!! Right on the beach. Wonderful service. They make their own award winning beer!

  • Emelie G.

Loved this spot! My friend and I had a great time lounging on the patio in the sun. The lettuce wrapped burger and chips was a delicious choice and a perfect early dinner after a long hike on the beach! My only recommendation is to offer more non-beer options- my wine was pretty pricey ($8.50) for a glass and there was only the red or white option. Would love to try a Pelican cider someday, too! Thanks again.

I stop by the brewery if it is lunchtime and I am in Tillamook. Good selection of beers - I usually drink the Silverspot IPA. Good brewpub food. I suggest the burger or the BLT. Note the portions are enormous, I usually spilt an order with my wife, and that is still a lot of food. They will happily split an order over two plates. If you want a large snack, I suggest the basket of fries. It is a basket of a lot of fries. Even when they are busy, yes they get really busy at some lunchtimes. The usual barman is fast and efficient. Your beer is served as you ask for it and the food is usually on your table in about 10 minutes.

I stopped by here earlier today with my wife for lunch. We were on our way down the 101 and happened to be passing by during lunch time. Since it was around noon there was a large line at the door. You see this is one of those places where you order first, get your drink and number and then find a seat. They had both indoor and outdoor seating but the outdoor seating was full so we took a seat inside. I actually preferred it that way because I was then able to see all of their fermenters. While we were there they were also bottling which was cool to see. For lunch my wife and I decided to split the fried tillamook cheese curds as our appetizer and then also split a the beer sampler which consisted of 9 tasters. Then for my entree I was between the fish and chips and the holy hotness batman burger before ultimately choosing the burger. Our fried cheese curds came out first with a chipotle cream sauce. Holy crap were they good! Granted fried cheese is always good but there was a nice thin breading on it and the cheese was hot and flavorful. My entree was similarly good and might be the best burger I have had so far this year. The bun was toasted nicely which kept it from falling apart while the meat was hot and juicy. It also had on it some chipotle cream sauce, pepperjack cheese and fried jalepenos, all of which helped to give it a little heat. Last but not least was the caramelized onions which where cooked perfectly and really added to the flavor. The beers here were also decent with my favorites being the IPA and double IPA. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I have to admit that I wasn't expecting too much from the food here but it was really good.

I was introduced to this brewery, by my boyfriend's family. It's near a home they have in Rockaway. I have only been there 3 times but each and every time has been amazing. Great Beer, Good Food, Great Atmosphere. It's really cool to be able to see the brewing and bottling process! Fries are fantastic. I consider myself a slight French Fry connoisseur. The chef at the Tillamook Pelican Tap Room does fries right. Hot, Beer Fried and Perfectly Soft/Crisp! I plan to make a lot more visits to this Pelican Location!

Fun production staff to watch, food was really awesome for Oregon. The Grilled cheese sandwich I added tomatoes and red onions which put it over the edge!!! Beer was great, sandwich bread was grease soaked too much. Fun staff and food in general was really good! This place helps keep this town alive! Logistics of interior need a makeover so does ordering.

Cream ale: delicious. Fries: Amazing. Health nut sandwich: wish this was toasted, and slathered with cream cheese. Service was great, prices are sl. inflated.

Really wish I could give this place a five star review. I was so excited to try it! They have a lovely patio that's dog friendly and my fiancé and I decided to do lunch here as we are camping nearby and their menu was enticing. We arrived around 2:00pm and the patio was fairly full but we were able to snag a spot. This place is completely self service, you have to grab your own menu, drink, order, etc. But they do have staff to bus tables. My fiancé got his beer and put in our order, and we waited on the patio enjoying the breeze. Others around us started getting their food and we'd been waiting a while (45 minutes). So he went to check on our order. Once inside the bus boy noticed we were waiting, confirmed with me we were and promptly went inside to check. He found out that our order had just simply gone missing. Missing, with an electronic system. I really wanted to love this place and maybe next time we visit I will be able to try their cheese curds that I was so looking forward to. For now, I am scorned and saddened at our lost order and lack of lunch at this establishment.

This is a "one stop on vacation" review. We liked the ambience--right in the brew house. The staff was friendly, and the food and beer were good. I tried an Imperial Ale, which was refreshing and hoppy, and I really liked the local fried cheese curds. We're glad we stopped in and will go back if we're in these woods again.

After a long weekend of hiking at the beach, we stopped on our way back from the coast. Upon entrance there is a sign which says order here which led us to believe you didn't get table service. That and the fact we had to get our own water and food when it was ready. The woman manning the front was clearly not thrilled with her vocational choice. We obviously were newbies, but she made no effort to help us out and then argued with me about what cheese I wanted for an item saying cheese extra on the (very limited) food menu. A guy at the bar (attached to this station) who mentioned he cooked there was more helpful and he seemed to be off as he was enjoying a beer. Everything was at least a dollar more than it needed to be if we were in Portland, let alone Tillamook. Do they think folks will pay it because it seems like a trendy microbrew? The rest of the staff seemed much friendlier, and the next group that came in were invited to have a seat at a table and menus were brought to them by another server. Food was unimpressive. Beer was cold and well needed after a long day in the sun. Won't stop here again.

Watched the World Cup finals here. The beer taps are from their Brewery and excellent. I tried the Imperial IPA & the stout. For food the fish and chips were average, but the service was friendly and heloful. The taproom looks over the brewery floor and tours are available, but not the day I visited.

What good fun my friends and I had here yesterday! We will definitely be back, which is what you want to think when you're leaving a place! We would have spent more time here if we weren't on our way to the coast and the weather wasn't so darn good. On that note, they do have outdoor seating but it was busy outside for obvious reasons- so we grabbed a table inside next to the shuffle board. Yes, the shuffle board. We had originally planned to go to the other Pelican Brewery which is about 36 ish mins away from this one. The staff said the other place has more options food and drink wise, but this had all that we wanted. Great burgers, fries were oh so good and the beer certainly hit the spot as well! The server recommended the grilled cheese that had bacon and apples in it, something a little different, maybe I'll try that next time? The staff were ALL so nice. If you're a manager and/or owner reading this, just know that it made our short time there at the brewery, that much better having a staff that all seemed like they were on happy pills and happy to be working on the weekend. Seriously, they were all smiley and sweet, they even gave us some directions to the beach (because we are bad tourists). I'll be back soon and I will definitely spread the word about this spot.

Fast service, hummus and fish & chips were fine. Stout was better than the average tasting IPA. They came out to wipe the tables and came out to check on us after we got our food. Nothing fancy but it was a perfectly nice way to end a day at the coast. Not sure why the negative reviewers have such high expectations of a little satellite tap room that offers food with their beer. Great dog-friendly patio!

Good food and beers for the road after a long weekend on the beach. Good for kids too. OK, just kidding about the beers for the road.

Nice to have a brewery/tap room in Tillamook! Standard pub fare, grass fed beef burgers, elk burger, and fish and chips as well. Great salads and they even have fried cheese curds for visitors to the area. Staff is friendly and helpful. Great beer as one would expect. Dining space is smaller, it is a tap room and the main location for brewing their beers now.

  • J B.

Appetizer came with the meal. The BLT only had two and a half pieces of bacon, and the warm sourdough bread was super dry, salad was wilted. Grilled cheese bread was too toasted. Overall was disappointed considering how good the reviews were.

Great beer, great food and great atmosphere! Really nice outdoor seating area is perfect for a nice sunny day. The use of local growers is always a trait Iook for, and Pelican does it as well as anyone.

Great food at bar prices. Beer is great and always new kinds on tap to try. Seasonal beers and specials. My wife and I usually split a meal because the portions are so large. Ruben, chili burger, and elk burger are my favorites. Deep fried cheese curds are and interesting appetizer.

Over-cooked, under-served, over priced, chaos behind the til...that about covers it. Sign on the door: "Help Wanted". Should be "Help Needed - Badly..." Whoever is running this place has no idea of how to run a pub or food service. Beer is ok, actually pretty good but nothing special - there are lots of good beers around here. Sat at the table for a bit, went back inside - asked "how do we order?" Them: "Right here, we don't take orders at the tables." OK. We asked how they cooked the burgers - them: "medium is pink inside" - good, two mediums ordered. After a bit, two well-done, dry pieces of shoe leather arrived on absolutely dry buns. Might have been ok if there were any condiments. Back inside..."Can we get some condiments?" Them: "They are outside, just help yourself." Went outside...nothing but some salt packets and vinegars on a industrial food service table (classy). Went inside...waited. waited. waited... (one young lady at the til trying to take orders from other confused customers...) waited...... (burgers & fries getting cold) them: "can I help you?" us: "can we get some condiments please?" them: "They're outside on the table." us: "there are none there." dialog continues until someone agrees to go outside with us. (burgers now cold) them: "ummmm...." finally finds some little plastic packets of mayo and mustard hidden in a deep square pot like those used for dressing at the "all you can eat" buffets... them: "See, here they are." After digging around discover there are no little plastic ketchup packets.... Back inside. wait. waited.... You get the idea of how this went. Good GOD, people. Then two of them, one obviously the supervisor who came out of nowhere, took over 10 minutes (I watched the clock) to figure out how to use my gift card (mercifully of a low denomination so i don't have to go back) AND take cash for the balance. Did I forget to mention the fried cheese curd "starters" that finally made it warm, not hot, some time after the main course? This place is a horror show. And I LIVE HERE! We had really high hopes for this place. Now I know why there are fewer and fewer cars outside. Bad News: see above. Good News: there are plenty of places to park.

Great new brewery. Loved the Wee Heavy. Suggestion to not make people stand in line for one cash register

  • Mag M.

Production brewery, so a bit loud. Small location but nice. Great beers. Decent menu. The big knock on the place is that you wait in line to order when you come in, then grab your seat. There is only one line, so it really backs up. If you're here to drink, best bet is to knuckle-down at the bar.

So a bit of a disclaimer, I live in Portland, the family and I were headed to Cape Lookout for a camping trip, and we needed lunch, as always, I wondered what Yelp had to say. The brew pub appeared to win the day with the five star rating. The brew pub is a working pub, the inside as you can see in the pictures. The main dining area is on a balcony above the brew floor. There was little brew activity on our visit, but I can imagine it could get loud and the orders of brewing may waft through the dining area. They have a shuffle board table! Oh yes, that is very cool. If you are into watching sports, they ahve several screens, though the placement can make it hard to see some of the screens depending on where you sit. There is a patio out front that seemed very nice, though we sat inside. The brew pub is a counter service place, you come up tot eh bar and order what you want, take a seat, and then they call your name out to come get it. The menu is what you would expect at a brew pub, pub fare. I ordered the brewers burger with fries and smoked cheddar. My wife had the fish and chips, the kids had grilled cheese. The kitchen is right there, open style, so no real hiding what is going on. I also ordered a beer, Pelican has hit the spot in the past. First the cream ale I ordered was fantastic, so fresh, so delicious. I know a beer is good when I drink the whole glass without really realizing I have finished the beer, and that was the case here. 5/5 for the beers, you would be happy to just stop by for pints. The food came out in short order, and I picked it up, first the good, the burger was fantastic. It really was rare. Do not order a rare burger here unless you mean it, because they aren't messing around. The burger was a solid 5/5 stars, damn good burger. My wife reported the fish was excellent. She normally steers clear of cod, but this fried cod fish made here realize it is less the cod, and more the preparation at some places that she is not found of. 5/5 for the fish. The frilled cheese were simple and straight forward as it should be. One kid devoured his, the other didn't touch his, but that may have nothing to do with the food, kids eh? Now we get to the reasons why not 5/5 stars. The fires were good, but not the best, 4/5 stars. I reserve five stars for places where I can't find a lot wrong. Granted, this may have just been a bad fry day, it happens, when I return we will see. Also, the entries are $12-$14, the kids meals are $5. The prices are not completely out of line for the quality, but for that kind of money, I expect table service, not counter service. They use quality ingredients, and the food is really good, it just seems a bit expensive to me, but I haven't shopped around that much in Tillamook, so maybe things just cost a few bucks more in Tillamook. Also, being in the brewer, even though there seemed to be no activity at the brewery, the dining are was vibrating with some industrial machine running somewhere. It was pretty distracting if you were in the right spot, but we moved tables and found relief. I would say I am rounding down to four stars here. Great place, needs a few tweaks and improvements to grab the last to push it over 4.5 stars and get the round to 5.

Pretty legit spot in such a small town, Nolan went above and beyond by helping us out with some stickers and our bartender was really knowledgable and nice. We got the Elk burger with Goat cheese, Sooooo good!

Driving to the beach? Thinking "boy I wish there was a place with great beer, amazing food, all at a reasonable price with good portions because I'm starving"? Well head on on over to Fort George in Astoria! However, if you are looking for small portions with the quality of something like Long John Silvers or Burger King but the prices of a high end seafood restaurant then welcome to The Pelican! Sitback and be so shocked that you paid $18 for 3 pieces of over cooked fish and chips you can't even enjoy the beautiful view right in front of you! Don't fret though, you still have that mediocre beer that won an award somewhere to help choke down that piece of rubber they call fish. Looking for something light? Well The Pelican offers a wide variety of salads to help your rumbling tummy. Try the blackened salmon salad, that 3 oz piece of fish is over cooked to perfection. Sitting on a handful sized amount spinach you'll look at it with eyes glazed over thinking "This seriously costs $16"? It sure does! Long waits not an issue for you? Well it isn't for us either! You will sit and wait for 30 minutes to an hour for your table! AND IT DOESN'T END THERE! We ask our servers to stand around and wait a minimum of 20 minutes before even dropping of your water, then leave immediately for another 15 before taking your beverage order. Thats a Pelican promise! So come on down, eat some food, drink some beer, and leave feeling like you just got brutally mugged in an alleyway. The Pelican, we have a nice view.

Thank you to the great crew at Pelican Brewery. I stopped by there Tuesday of last week looking desperately for a place to eat lunch and have a beer with my canine companion. We had just said goodbye to her elder brother on Monday and took a day out at the coast together. The staff at Pelican stepped up and said it was A-OK for us to take a seat on the patio. I ordered their Governer (Delish) and the fried oyster lunch and cheese curds. The server was so nice she even carried it out to me so I could stay with my dog. Great food, great service and great beers. Thank you! :)

This reastaurant is stuck in the corner of brewing facility, where they had a little room left over. You have to wait in line to order your food and drinks. They call your name and you go pick up your food. If you need another beer before you are done with your food be prepared to stand in line again while your food gets cold. The food is ok, but the prices are no less than restaurant that you can get service at your table. Strictly an opportunistic way to cram some extra profit for the brewery. No reason they could not wait on tables other than profit. But if people don't return, what good does thst do. Don't waste your time, go somewhere service matters matters.

The Pelican Brewery had been on our list to visit while driving through Oregon. We opted for the site in Tillamook. Ordered a BLT which I thought was excellent. The bread was delicious, the bacon was thick and peppered. We chose a basket of chips not fries. I was expecting potato chips from a bag but they were cooked on the spot and were delicious. Not greasy, not salty, just perfect. The staff was helpful with selecting beers and I had many samples. My favorite was a seasonal "Seahops" which had a lot of flavor. Loved it so much, I purchased a growler. We would stop again on our next drive through. The dining area is above the production area so expect a lot of noise and interesting to see it going on down there.

Quite overpriced food. Good IPA. We had the ribs, linguini, chili, fries, burger. Ribs were some of the worst I had. Burger was good. Chili was meh. Fries were ok but a small portion. Beer was expensive (why can I get their beer much cheaper at other places?). The imperial ale was yummy. I would not go again.

Headed to the Oregon coast on a post-Labor Day vacation and decided this might be a good place for lunch (and a beer). We were not disappointed. I had the Imperial Pelican Ale and my wife had the Surfer's Summer Ale - both met our expectations. The burger and fries were outstanding; the Big Salad (topped with a piece of batter fried chicken) was a winner.

This review is for the Tillamook location. This location is really just an opportunistic restaurant in their brewing facility. You sit above the brewing floor, but all the equipment is right there, not even separated by glass. Do NOT expect this to be like the Pacific City location. While neither is particularly formal, you can have your wedding at the PC location, but you'd be making an interesting statement by having your event at the Tillamook place. Really, the dining area is just off a small galley kitchen (open to the world) and is maybe 10 tables. There is a shuffleboard game and a pool table, though. Oh, and it's counter service for ordering and getting beer. The food is a small subset of the PC location and focuses on burgers and brew. The food was cooked well, but they made major mistakes on both my order and that of my companion. This is the major reason for the three-star rating. If they'd been slammed I'd've offered a tad more grace, but only half of the tables were populated, so it wasn't confusion, just mistakes. If you don't know Pelican beer, get a sampler and check them out! I'm a big fan of several of their beers and since the Tillamook location is now Pelican's main brewing facility, you won't get fresher beer anywhere! I'm a fan of Pelican, so I'm hoping they work out the service kinks and I'll definitely visit again, especially on a nice day when they use the patio for seating, too!
