With kind words and encouragement from the GM to try Blitz again, we gave them another shot last week. The food was outstanding, and our server Mitch was exactly what I would expect from a friendly neighborhood sports bar. I would absolutely recommend Blitz to anyone, especially Monday night when Happy Hour runs from 3 pm to close. High five, Blitz team! You're well on your way to becoming out Monday night outing!

Big sign out on the side says "families welcome" but we felt rushed. My husband wanted another beer, wasn't asked. Wanted dessert but we were left with the check and not asked. We cleaned up our mess and our baby was in good spirits, we tip over 20%, left wondering y we felt unwelcomed enough to not finish watching the football game. The happy hour menu is great though. Maybe next time (if there's a next time) I will inform them that we will b there for the whole game!

Would you call this a cucumber salad? I wouldn't. Another management change at this particular blitz prices have gone up anywhere from two dollars to three dollars per item cocktails are made with missing ingredients for the recipe to cut costs. Don't know that we will be going here again. To many management changes haven't seen any improvements. This was so much better when it was seafood Grill or Newport Bay.

Improvement since the last time we were there. Upgrade them to 3.5-3.75 almost 4. Except for the fact that their was no hostess and the sign said wait to be seated and no one came to seat us. Eventually after a few minutes we just wondered over to the bar side and sat down and asked the server if it was ok to sit here and she said yes. Other than that service was excellent. Food was decent pub grub done well. A few new items on the happy hour menu and they actually listened and trashed those awful pickled onions they once had. Kudos to them. My pub burger was done well cooked correctly as I ordered. I prob would have chosen a different kind of bun than the ?sourdough roll? it was served on. Mr mr. loved his happy hour mac and cheese. We were pleased and will be returning as their Happy hour menu is a good value.

I like that each Blitz takes on it's own identity. 99W, Ladd, and the Pearl have the same menu but the vibes are different and match respective neighborhoods. Blitz 99W takes on more of a suburb feel. large booths, laid back music, friendly staff. Nothing on the menu at Blitz is going to wow you, it's all pretty average but there is a solid beer selection TV's on every corner, and the Nacho is massive. Really it's a solid spot to grab a bit with some friends and watch the blazers win.

Pay only cash unless you want you VISA over charged $1000! Went to trivia night on Thursday August 6th with a friend and had two drinks. service was slow and uneven but friendly. Bill was $11.50 with tip. Imagine my surprise when I saw charges on my VISA statement on the 16th for $9.50 and $1,002! I called Blitz and got the assistant manager who said the manager was out until Monday and would call me Monday. The Manager called me at 11AM Monday and said the charges were changed ( they were) and it was the fault of the new POS system. No apology, no personal responsibility just obfuscation. I have been coming to Blitz on 99 for the past 4 years to play Trivia and this is the third time this has happened to people in my Trivia group. When I mention that he said he could not explain it. This is too bad because the food is generally good and the drinks are too.

Great place for a good meal with the family and cousins. Service was great!

They have a good happy hour menu and decent enough food in general. The place is always very noisy and it is really hit or miss as far as quality and service are concerned.

I have been going to Blitz 99w for years and they have fantastic food and service. I bring all my friends and family there. One of our absolute favorite servers is Jordan. She is fantastic and very attentive. She is a wonderful people person and a hard worker. We visit her every week!!

Typical sports bar but a little more annoying because they solicit business from families and welcome children. Just read the huge banner out front for yourself. Weird! Food is whatever. Tons of better places to go to.

In what was once a local chain seafood restaurant now lives a local chain sorts bar. I like Blitz in Ladds. This one tries harder to be more of a restaurant. It's just poorly executed bar food. They do have a good beer selection but don't let the spacious seating fool you into thinking it's more than a well lit bar. I love pub food. This is just uninspired selections from the Sysco catalog. My fish tacos consisted of chunks of large fish sticks placed in warmed up flower tortillas. The pico was a touch worse than The Bell. If you must come here to eat, just get a burger.

If I could give no stars, I would. Never have I had a server be more rude to me than Jordan. Clearly this location is not staffed to handle two tables in their bar, let alone spend more than a minute with customers. The bartender was more concerned with making shots for people that had fo shoes working than grabbing a 30 second food order from us even though we'd been there first.

Solid three star bar/restaurant. I would have rated it a bit higher when I first started going there, but I really don't care for their new food menu which eliminated many food items (4 horsemen anyone?) that I really enjoyed. As far as the location and such, the place has a fun gaming area, lots of tvs and a nice interior. Staff give 3 star service in both speed and friendliness. The main attraction in my opinion is the deck during a nice summer day (or night). Though this Blitz location is on busy 99W, the way the deck is situated makes it feel kinda woodsy which is a nice bonus. Note: Love their deep fried green beans. Yummy HH treat.

The Blitz 99 is a mixed bag. I would classify it as a dive bar, but the cavernous interior with multiple bars and rooms full of giant TV screens gives me the impression it wants to be more. Problem is, it's not. It is a giant divey Sports bar with mostly deep fried bar food u know is kept in frozen bags somewhere in a walk in. But, then I was pleasantly surprised. They have MacNJack on tap and their Mac N Cheese is creamy and delicious. Once, as a daily special, they had a pastrami and sauerkraut topped cheeseburger that was so good I would crawl over broken glass to eat two of them. Not only did they never serve it again, but just finding anyone on staff who had heard of it was like asking if they ever saw Bigfoot. The service is also a crap shoot. Twice we waited over an hour and a half for our order to be delivered by a very unapologetic waitress in a bar that had only 3 other occupied tables. All these factors have kept my visits few and far between and I live within a mile of the place. If you decide to go, good luck and order the Mac n Cheese if your heart is strong enough; it's worth risking cardiac arrest because it is to die for.

If I could give zero stars I would! Our server, Holly M was well inattentive. She prettying much treated my father and myself like we were invisible! I made direct eye contact with her multiple times trying to get her attention and she just walked on by. Our table was in an area where she had to walk by to go to her other tables. She barely cleared the table of empty beer cans and brought a can of beer without a glass, took 20 minutes to get a GLASS OF WATER and another 10 minutes to get our check!!! No apology or polite explanation. My burger was good verse the "pretzel" which tasted more like bread than a soft pretzel and the cheese soup for dipping was well gross! I understand being busy but when you just plain ignore and forget that someone asked you for something just bugs me. I have been to this place before around happy hour and the service was a little better! I highly doubt that I will return to this place. I don't understand how people can be rude and treat another human being that like that. I have been in customer service related jobs for years and I would never treat anyone the way my father and I were treated by Holly M. I don't know if she was just having a bad day, but you just put of your happy face and try to make someone else's day better than your own!

Great food (Chicken Skewers, The Drexler, Ty Cobb Salad) great events (MNF Bingo, UFC). I have yet to have a time at this place that doesn't suck. Always welcoming, friendly, efficient staff and just a great vibe. Never a dull moment and always a great place to catch any sporting event.

As sports bars go I'd say this is a good one. I liked the soft pretzels and the beer selection. Good service as well especially considering it was crazy crowded that night.

Blitz 99W is my favorite of the chain (withholding judgment because I haven't been to the NW edition). Given that the space formerly housed Newport Grill, I came in the first time with pretty low expectations. It basically looked the same after the transition but the service is 10 x better. They instantly won my heart over with their beer list. I've enjoyed Alameda Yellow Wolf, Double Mountain and several other good brews. I've seen them run a few promotions with Fat Tire and some of those beer flavored water brands too, you know, drink this beer, get entered in a raffle for a bike, booze cruise, etc. For you early drinkers (or hardcore partiers), they open at 9am on weekends. I've really enjoyed everything we've ordered here. Generally we hang in the bar area there, so we've chowed down on their Totchos, Quesadillas and hummus platter with no complaints. Their happy hour is solid with reasonable prices. If you want to get your game on, you can venture to the game room that has pool, air hockey and the like. Blitz 99W is a solid sports bar option out in these parts. If we ever run out of beer at our house (this is too terrifying to think about) or the Thursday NFL game (we don't have NFL Network) is actually good, I'm hopping the #12 bus ASAP.

This is a sports bar. There are lots of flat screens showing games, and sports pics and memorabilia on the walls. Today, Thursday, the drink special was 10 Barrels IPA and Lemondrops. The Totchos were great with what I took for a chipotle ranch and a tasty Pico de Gallo. The fried green beans were great too. I couldn't tell if they had a slight fishy flavor or a it was just my squeemishness for that kind of batter. They were great especially dipped in the horseradish mayo. The pace was clean and plesent. It had many rooms, one with pool, shuffleboard, air hockey and some other games. Service was polite and quick. I bet it gets busy on weekend nights and during games but it was quiet during happy hour on Thursday. Looking forward to coming back soon.

Surprisingly good food for being a sports bar. Great drink selection. Very good service the two times I have gone. Unfortunately, parking is an absolute nightmare. It is generally really, really busy so you almost always have to wait to get a seat. Plan to show up at least 1.5 hours early on a game night.

This place is amazingly awesomely average. It's popularity has got to be because there are other options in this suburban wasteland called 99W. We have been here three times because the conversation starts with, "let's watch the game, but where should we go..." It is not bad at all, it is exactly what you would expect in a suburban sports bar. There are bars with bigger TVs, more TVs, better food, better game tables, better music, and better atmosphere. Blitz seems to have taken the average approach to all the above amenities and it seems to pack the masses in. And I am sure I will be back, because there will be an afternoon in which the conversation starts with, "let's watch the game..."

  • Alex B.

I think this bar basically defines "A-OK." They have beer, they have crazy tons of TVs with lots of different games on, and that's what you're coming here for. The food is whatever and the service is slow. But what are you going to do? I love the fact that everybody in Portland is from somewhere else on NFL game day. I came in to watch my Minnesota Vikings on a Sunday morning and was fascinated by the mixed bag of fans. the fan base seemed to be skewed slightly toward Seahawks and (somewhat surprisingly) Steelers fans, but there was representation from over 15 different NFL teams. Pretty cool game day atmosphere.

  • Jose R.

Love coming here for game day! They always seat us in a location where we can watch the game we prefer. Service is excellent, fast, friendly, and efficient. My glass is never empty. Food is always wonderful and made to perfection.

Most of the food is acceptable. On a par with a McMenamins. Their hot wings are OK. The deep fried green beans suck. Some of the salads and burgers are pretty good. The deep fried portobello mushrooms are wonderful, and really filling. Get a friend if you order them. Drinks are not their strong suit. The prices aren't bad, and I've certainly seen worse, but they really don't have great bartending skill on display there. I've had varying luck getting a very specific martini made right. Only one or two times did they muck it up so bad that it was undrinkable and had to go back. The nightly drink specials are a mixed bag. I've had a pretty horrible cosmo there in the past, but for a captain and coke, they are fine. As an update, I got a half sized martini for full price the other night. It wasn't well handled, and I won't pay for drinks there again. Basically the cocktails suck. If they decide to hire a real bartender some time, I may upgraded review. It is a safe bet to order a pint and a burger with the knowledge that you'll enjoy yourself there. Most of the wait staff, at least the longer timers, are friendly, and pretty responsive. No complaints here at all. I really hate sports on TV, and that is what they are mostly about, being a sports bar and all, Wide screen TVs litter the place, sports memorabilia is all over, and it is definitely full on big game nights, so I am feeling generous in giving them 4 stars, since it must be a good place for all that. I only go there because they host last call trivia on Thursday nights. I personally wouldn't go there any other time unless nobody else was open.

Came in for happy hour with my sister. I have been a server for 6 years and this has by far been the worst experience I've ever had with a server. Jordan does not know the first thing about customer service and clearly can't communicate with guests properly.

Not a regular haunt for us, be we go a few times a year. Things I like about Blitz 99W: #1 Kid friendly. I can bring the kiddos and no one raises an eye brow. They have a HUGE kids pizza (our waitress told us it used to be the exact same pizza as the medium on the regular menu, but they had to change it because everyone ordered it in the bar!) #2 Rotating beers on nitro... tonight was one of my favs- Alameda black bear. SOOOOO good! #3 Friendly staff. in the bar, in the restaurant, on the patio... We have yet to have unpleasant staff. Plenty of tv's, occasional events with vendors like Captain Morgan (and the girls) passing out samples and swag, decent tots, and lots of outdoor seating. We'll keep coming back.

Came here once after a long time because my dad wanted to have the prime rib. Of course they ran out, which has happened many times before. Table next door tried to order something else and they ran out. This place is terrible for food. Don't drink here that much so maybe they can do that ok.

Fun place to watch football. We went for the Saints game, but there's wasn't one TV in theplace with that game on. Wings were good and wine was fresh. If you are looking for a particular team, call before going.

I really like this location of Blitz for four reasons. 1) It is laid out very well, separate rooms make this a great area for large groups. 2) The server cider on tap! Have you caught on that I love cider yet? 3) There are two different patios, making this a perfect summer happy hour spot! Speaking of happy hour the pricing on drinks and food is good here. 4) The service, which is especially impressive considering every time I come here I'm in a large group, regardless they always handle the crowds well.

I went to Blitz 99W for a mingler. We were in the bar section, not very conducive to mingling. There was a surfboard with the day's specials written on it. Lemondrop for $4. Sold! But the lemondrop was very so-so, but what do you expect for $4? Since I just came from dinner, I wasn't very hungry. A friend ordered nachos, and it was huge. He asked me to help, so I was happy to oblige. And surprisingly, I thought the nachos were a lot better than I was expecting! As my evening was coming to a close, I decided to make a stop in the restroom. I couldn't find it, and asked a staff member where the restrooms were located. The one she directed me to, was a unisex bathroom, and it was just gross. Later I found out that there were men and women's bathrooms near the entrance. Sheesh! There are multiple TV's strategically placed around the restaurant, great for viewing sports. There were lots of cool nooks and crannies type of spaces for a more cozy gathering...not sure if you have to reserve these spaces. Right off the entrance was a small room with a couch and chairs, 2 TV's, sliding door to close off the space. There were a couple of pool tables, foosball, air hockey, basketball hoop thingy. I was sad to see there wasn't a ping pong table. :( I hear the one in the Pearl has ping pong. A huge beer selection, but since I'm not into beer, not sure what's available. Because of my lemondrop and restroom experience, I'm only giving 3 stars...but I'm willing to go back and try to up my rating in the future!

Staff is friendly and service is prompt. They have a great Happy Hour menu with lots of options. And most of it is not fried! Good size portions especially considering it's happy hour prices. Nice atmosphere and plenty of TVs to keep you entertained.

Just came from Blitz 99 "Sports" Pub to catch the the Blazer game and some good bar food. I game was on the two TV's above the bar with football and other games on the corner TV's. Unfortunately the game was muted as were all the other games in favor of retro soft rock from Van Morrison, "How long has this been going on" (if you were curious). I asked my server if I could get some volume to the game and she said: "she would be right with me". The bartender a few minutes later comes by and asked for my drink order, I asked the same of him; with a blank and lifeless response he said he could not. Perplexed I asked if there was an issue with the sound system and he said "no, the game would compete with music". Not one to take a hint very well I said but the game is on, thinking in a sports bar this might mean something. The response was a couple requested music and they would not be changing it. I give Blitz "Sports" Pub a 1 star due to the fact they advertise and present themselves as a sports bars but do not cater to the sports fan. Management/ownership should rethink their bar identity. In the mean time I'll go to "Gators" where they proudly and loudly play their sports for their customers the sports fan.

In the Portland area the name "Blitz" is synonymous with sports bars. This particular Blitz (Tigard 99W) is housed in a former Newport Seafood Grill. From the Newport chain Blitz inherited a sharp looking building and a large parking lot. The interior is equally impressive. The center of the building serves as a family restaurant. I believe that minors are allowed on premises during most of Blitz 99W's opening hours. On our visit there was a lively trivia game going on in the North part of the building. On the South end (game room) there was some intense Foosball competition. On to the food! The food offerings here are quite typical of sports bars. The menu is heavy on appetizers, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, and pizza. Blitz 99W does offer some entrees like salmon, ribs, steaks, and a pork chop. The prices are fair. You can easily stuff yourself at Blitz 99W for around $10-$12. The service is friendly, talkative, and attentive. On our visit we sampled the Jumbo Burger and the Nachos. The nachos were outstanding. Delicious guacamole, salsa, and blended cheeses. The Jumbo Burger was reminiscent of Helvetia Tavern's "Jumbo Cheeseburger." Two large hamburger patties in a colossal bun topped off with the house sauce. The accompanying fries were tasty, lightly salted, and not at all greasy. Upon leaving Blitz99W you will see a chalk board listing upcoming events and specials. Noticed that there wasn't a cover charge for some of the events. Noticed also that on one day they offer $4 Screwdrivers. Nice! Blitz99W wants your business and they want you to come back. A business that tries this hard definitely deserves some attention. Tigard Blitz99W. One of the Portland area's best sports bars.

  • Ryan Y.

Food is great and prices are reasonable, but this Blitz is no Blitz Ladd. Blitz Ladd is spacious, Blitz 99w is crowded and difficult to play foosball or pool on a Friday or Saturday night. You cannot play pool if the foosball tables are being used. If they get rid of the tables, then they can spread everything out. The menu is better at Blitz Ladd, but the food is equally good. This is the only sports bar in the Tigard/Beaverton area. Everything else is old, run down, no shuffleboard, or crappy food. Service is crap. I had to go to the bar to request for plates for my appetizers. It's only getting 3 stars because of food quality and location.

Good beer selection and good happy hour prices. I wouldn't eat here though if it wasn't happy hour. Not being cheap, just doesn't fit the price point for this place or quality of food.

While I don't love Blitz in the Pearl and strongly dislike Blitz 21, something about Blitz 99 endeared itself to me. It might be the suburban-bro clientele, slightly less offensive than Pearl-hipster-bro patrons of the other locations; it might be the friendlier bar staff; it might be the fact that their bar area is enormous and just about covered with flat-screen TVs so you can watch the game from just about any angle (and sometimes three at once). It's also not expensive. Between three of us we split two pitchers, a Bloody Mary, a plate of nachos, happy hour wings and fries and each paid $20 with tip. The Bloody Mary was a bit on the watery side, but the flavors were good, the nachos were piled high with beef, salsa, beans, cheese, all the good stuff, and the wings and fries were satisfactory and the right price. There's a daily beer special and they have a good offering of local and seasonal brews. I'd much rather come here than any other Blitz incarnation. Loads of seating and a giant parking lot so you don't have to fight for space. Definitely a solid sports bar.

  • Ariel B.

Pretty straightforward sports bar. Nice happy hour menu. Had Cajun Mac and it was so-so and a bit overpriced at regular hours but I'd go back again for happy hour. Had to fight to get more TVs turned to Blazers game rather than the Eagles game. That shouldn't even be a question in Portland!

Pros: Clean, good food, good drink selection, hipster free Cons: Kind of bland, a little too ra-ra for a suburb bar Blitz 99W is clean and a good place to grab a beer, a bite and watch some sports. Being in Tigard, it's pretty much hipster free, but on the same token the crowd is smaller and kind of bland. If you're just catching up with friends, not a bad place to go. If you want an exciting night on the town, I'd say head towards downtown. Also, they seem to get really loud and wild, but it doesn't fit the demographics of the crowd or the numbers, so it just comes off a bit strange. Conclusion: good place to go with friends for food, drinks and some entertainment. For an exciting night on the town, get out of the burbs and head towards city center.

I liked Blitz!!! We were in the Tigard area and wanted to shoot a lil pool and have a few drinks. I was happy to give this place a run. We were greeted within seconds of entering, the host gave us a brief run down on where the bar, dining area, and game room was. On to the bar!! The area was open, lots of seating, TONS of beers on tap, and yesterday (Wednesday) they had a beer of the day. It was Heffeweizen for $3 a pint!! What a friggin steal!!! I couldn't pass the offer up. We really wanted to shoot some stick, and they had a table for that, which I must add the cues tips have been roughed up for added english. WOW, fricking awesome!! I've never seen a place that scuffs the tips out of courtesy. In addition to billiards, this place has shuffle board (gratis!), foose ball tables, video golf, darts, one of those speed bag arcades (you know what i'm talking about, the things where the drunk tough guys put their hardest punches). What I find interesting is in this game area, kids are allowed untill 9pm!! So that means I can play pool, have a beer, watch a game on one of the flatscreens and they can chill till 9pm???? Hmmm. Sounds pretty cool to me... We really wanted to get food, but after the drinks we were starting to veer away from the food, from what I seen come out, the servings were large, but I cant vouch for how it tasted. I really liked the time we had here, atmosphere was chill, didn't get hassled by the staff to drink or eat, just great service and great prices on the drinks. I'm making a point of coming back again very soon

We hit this spot for Happy Hour and to watch some football. Lots of flat screen tvs everywhere. Great fireplace with leather couches to lounge on. We had no trouble catching the game! Our first table, was apparently, right beneath a wind tunnel of some sort. It was FREEZING and windy. Our napkins kept blowing off the table. Seriously. We finally broke down and moved to a different table. Our server was wonderful and easily accommodated us. The customer service was definitely outstanding and hence, the four stars. :) The food was typical for bar food. I enjoyed the tempura batter on the fish and chips. It was light and crisp like it should be. The wings were just too Tex-Mex tasting for our table. The sauce was pretty over-powering. The highlight was the soft pretzel! I was pleasantly surprised by the garlic salt and really enjoyed it. You can NEVER go wrong when you pair beer and pretzels. It's a natural. This a great place to grab a beer with friends and catch a game.

Decent sports bar. Lots of TVs, lots of tables, decent food, and fair service. I came here for a birthday party, and the backroom was pretty nice, considering we were watching a football game as part of the party. The service was only OK because we had 1 server for 30 people. It took me quite a while to get a glass of water. The ultimate test for me in this place is Sunday football with my Packers on. If I can squat my ass in front of a TV, be able to hear what they are saying, not get hit on my some fat dude who is a Dallas Cowboys fan, have a good salad and some Diet Coke, I am a happy girl. Other Packers fans in the joint would be a plus. However, none of the aforementioned events will happen until they remove the Chicago Bears sign in the pool room. For shame.

Dont go there for an NFL game if there are 7 playing at one time ~ they dont know how to work the TVs & too busy to change the TVs to the games the TVs were tagged for. Missed the Seahawks kick off & the whole first to drive home

Funny, I raved about the pizza from Blitz Ladd. But I was cautioned by a pal that the places that share the same name share little else, and I experienced that yday at this location. We had 3 different things from the happy hour menu, all of them were "meh.".....at best. As was service, they were understaffed, it would seem.I won't be back to this location.

  • Grant C.

Wow what terrible drinks and service to match. When my server asked me how my drinks were I told her it was weak. Instead of offering to fix it she said "oh we pour a heavy pour and it's the way that vodka drinks." I told her that was untrue and that I had same vodka at home. She did nothing to satisfy or address my concerns. We are leaving after this drink. This is my second time here getting bad service. I'm done!

I've been 2 years in a row for the Super bowl. The service has certainly deteriorated in a year's time. The place wasn't that crowded and there were more than enough servers on staff. Everything....and I mean everything was an unacceptable wait. Not sure if it was our server, the kitchen or bar staff...The food was ok. The spinach and artichoke dip is yummy. I also had a pretzel served with spicy mustard. I was drinking Jack and gingers. They were fine...pretty hard to screw up that drink. May or may not return...the deterioration was THAT noticeable.

Just checked this place out tonight for the first time. Food was ok, service was ok. The Blue Mountain Cider chicken was extremely dry, maybe the driest chicken i've ever had. The actual taste of the chicken was on point, though. Service was decent, although the bar wasn't busy so i'd like to see how the guys and gals down there really jam. I'll probably be back to watch some Blazer games and play darts. They have a game room and it has air hockey, which is more than the Blitz Pearl location can say.

  • Roxie G.

The best thing about this place is you can take your kid here and shoot some games of pool with him, without drunk dumb people bothering you. The service I have gotten there has usually been awesome. Thanks to Lewis, Yuki and a little panda they call Amanda. Me and my son will be back for sure

While I really, really like the Blitz Ladd, this place reminds me too much of the Newport Bay it used to be. Not that there's anything wrong with that...if you are being taken to dinner by vendors. But this place is supposed to be a "sports bar". Their happy hour food is really good though; especially their tochos, which I love to have them add chili too. And they play lots of sporting events...which I guess is all that is needed for a "sports bar" - in guy world. It is kinda cool that you can get happy hour throughout the bar, as well as out on the patio. The last time I was there, we were all given "Blitz dollars". I have no idea what we did to earn them, but it's a great gimmick, because it'll get me back; if even just to put towards one beer. Okay, that's not true. I'll be back because it's close to my work. And because lots of guys hang out here on fight night. And football nights. And Blazer nights... Guys, go for the sports. Ladies, go for the guys :-)

The breakfast cooks here suck! Waited over 30 minutes to finally get my biscuit and gravy ( after all the people around me ordered AFTER me and had already received their food 15 minutes ago). Then when it finally arrived( let me remind you that there is nothing to cook here) it had about enough gravy on the plate to fill a thimble. I really felt like Gordon R. as I sent that crap back . Blitz food = shitz food

Update: I've had a couple employees contact me since my last review, concerned about their customer service and accommodations on football weekends. Let me say, i'm impressed. Never had anyone go out of their way to check up on how their staff is doing, and they certainly got their act together (not like it was bad in the first place). Well done, Blitz. I'm excited to come watch the game with you guys again. Great TV set up, an awesome $4 bloody mary, and decent food with friendly people. Thank you!

Blitz is a place to relax. The waiters & waitresses know how to allow you to unwind. The kitchen is always immaculate you shall never worry about getting a stomach microbe because of sanitary concerns. Tim and Tracy (managers) are the best at what they do; thats why their teams out-perform every boutique bar-pub in the area. There isn't a sport, wrestling or fight night you can't catch at the Blitz. Downsides: menu changes every 12 months, no espresso, limited wine selection, limited premium beer bottle selection and no sangria to match the Chimichurri Flat Iron Steak. Upsides: Consistent-no surprises, respectful atmosphere, Sunday Bazaar would be nicer with a Sunday Brunch and bubbly...Ratiing 4.5 Stars

Some co-workers and I have been here a few times since it has opened, which was only a week or 2 ago. The first 2 times we went before happy hour and was pretty impressed with the food. A little on the pricier side, but all agreed it was worth it. We finally went during happy hour today and were EXTREMELY disappointed. The waitress got our order wrong and was rude about it when we told her. We got the hummus that said it comes with flat bread, but actually came with tortilla chips. Our conclusion- Happy Hour may be lighter on the wallet, but it comes with lighter service and lighter quality food. Oh, and we also watched one of the cooks eat in the kitchen, then proceed to wipe his mouth and nose with his hand. Not ok.

I was super-pumped when Blitz opened, and super-pumped that Newport Seafood Grill was no-more. One thing I really wish they would've done is open the restaurant up a little more, similar to the Blitz Ladd. But each Blitz has its own unique environment, this one is still pretty cool. I feel like when they first opened they had a fairly young and diverse wait staff, and now its turned into older frumpy waitresses (nothing wrong with that, I just prefer the wait staff match the overall vibe of the bar). However the service has always been pretty good. Blitz 99 has a pretty solid game room, the only thing I would change is I would've gotten a full size shuffleboard table, they have an 8 or 10 foot, and it just doesn't work after having played on the full size ones at Blitz Ladd and the other bars around town. One thing I really like is that they have a daily beer special which I think is $3 a pint or something like that, they even have Burnside Brewing IPA's on special once a week! Their happy hour food is pretty good, for straight bar food. But there is one great invention, Totchos (Natcho's with tater tots instead of chips), brilliant really. Their food is nothing special, but not bad for pub food. Probably the best thing about this location is that you can get a ride to the Blazer games for free on the Blitz Bus, we went to the game two weeks ago and we were the only 3 people on the entire bus, there were 2 others that jumped on when we stopped at Blitz Ladd, and you have enough time to stop and down a quick beer at Blitz Ladd. We all tipped the driver but there is no charge, really a fun time, and they even take you back home, its awesome! I am surprised that more people don't take advantage of this!

Week on of NFL season and they can only play 8 out of 12 games for some b.s. reason...Really irks me a place called "blitz" doesn't properly cover football as advertised...

Uhmmm, let's just say, DO NOT GO HERE ON A GAME NIGHT. Pretty sure they have the slowest, rudest, inefficient and unprofessionally dressed servers on the planet. I'm sorry, I don't want your beautiful long brown hair in my hummus, and no thanks, I would not enjoy your boobs with my burger. What ever happened to dress codes? Not strict ones, just ones that allow me to eat my nachos without distraction! UFC on ALL of the TV's? All of them? Nearly left because none of them could be switched to the Blazer game... should have. Thanks to one TV above the line cooks, that could "accomodate" such a request... seriously??? It's the BLAZERS! This is PORTLAND! Right? Two and a half hours and only getting served two beers? Sad day. Server didn't take our order, or bring us waters, or bring us food and drinks. Twenty minutes to bring our bill after we asked for it, twice, from two people. Who were we supposed to tip?! If I had cash on me, I'd hand out to everyone else, BUT our server, who no doubt, got to keep all of it... I've worked in food service for more than 10 years off and on, if I worked/ managed there, I would make some major changes... Oh well! On the positive, cheese fries, and hummus are delicious!

What happened? Blitz has been a favorite of mine since it opened, being the only sports bar in the area that served decent food. I guess it's been about a month or so since I was last there and was immediately surprised when the hostess dropped a one page menu on my table - one side for the food items, and the other side for the drinks. Two four page menus reduced to a single two-sided menu. Gone are all of my favorites - fish tacos, black bean burger, calzones. Even their draft beer menu has been trimmed. Service was also considerably worse. Service used to be efficient and fairly friendly. But this time, the server was friendly, but everything was comically slow. Our food was cold by the time it got to us. Someone other than our server had to bring my beer because it had apparently been sitting at the bar for quite a while, and he apologized for the delay. Knowing that they were aware that the first one took so long to get to me, I thought the second one may get there more quickly. Unfortunately, no luck. That one took just as long. Sometimes you expect those delays when the restaurant is packed, but it was almost empty in there. I also noticed that several plates were stacked up under the heat lamps, so our server was clearly struggling keeping up. I'm guessing that maybe this Biltz location is struggling and, as a result, had to cut down the menu and possibly some staff. It's a shame because I really like the place and want to see it succeed. But if the trimmed down menu and lackluster service are an indicator of where Blitz is going, I probably won't be back too often.

After visiting once and not having a great experience here, I decided to give it one more try before writing Blitz in Tigard off completely. Unfortunately, my second experience was worse than the first. To be fair, the food isn't bad...but it is by no means great. It's your standard, run of the mill pub fare. If you are looking for average food and cheap beer you might like this place. My primary gripe is with the waitstaff. Both times, I have had really lousy service. Slow, ineffective, nearly bordering on rude service. We ordered a pizza, and it was plopped down on the table, and we were given no plates, no silverware, no napkins...nothing. Just a molten-napalm-lava hot pizza with nothing to eat it with. When we asked the waitress for plates and silverware she sighed loudly, and took about ten minutes to finally get around to bringing them to us. The restaurant was not that busy, and my husband saw her chatting in the kitchen with a co-worker instead of helping customers...like us. Really frustrating. So the very, very poor service on both visits, combined with average food makes this one restaurant I am probably never going to return to. I really wanted to like this place, but sadly, this isn't it for me.

I really enjoy this Blitz location in Tigard. Upscale, contemporary styled sports themed get away, at happy hour they had the lights dimmed and many games playing on multiple large screen televisions. Bar games, an open floor with many little corners and comfy booths to get lost in. The drinks were de-lish! We nibbled tasty bites from the HH menu but have yet to experience the full menu. We will be back!

  • Bill S.

I've never had such bad service on a night that wasn't even busy. Granted we were sitting in the lounge area but we had to go get our drinks from the bar as it was 30-40mins between visits from the waiter. Nice place but they really need to add additional staff.

This Blitz location was great! They were able to accomodate our large group of about 25 people for a party and never once was there a complaint. It was a Saturday night and our waiter Michael (I think that was his name?) was superb in consistantly gathering our drink orders and making sure we had everything we needed. The food was actually pretty good as well! Here I was expecting your typical bar food, but no! Our giant clan ordered pizza (tasted awesome with the thin crust and just the right amount of sauce), the Bronx Burger (OMG so fatty and delicious), french fries (cooked perfectly), Hummus, (a tad spicy but not bad), and some others I did not get to try were the Nachos and salad. All in all I was very impressed with this newer location. The only thing I didn't care for was that the 'gaming' area seemed a bit cramped. It was hard to maneuver around the pool tables and dart boards with tables and people in the way. Also, there was only one basketball game. Lame. I will certainly be back for another round or two. It was nice to have so many TVs to watch the game!

Brand spanking new Blitz in my side of town...just for that, they got one star from me. They are occupying the spot where Newport seafood & grill used to be. I love the fact that, my bus #12 stops right in front of it, so in the future if I ever wanted to get drunk drunk drunk..I can just roll on to the bus. Jesse and I had happy hour here. They have a great brand new deck out in the back for patio happy hour. Their HH is going on from 3-6, M-F. They offer a very very very good happy hour prices. $4 well drinks, $3 beers, and you can get 5 chicken wings for $4, Totchos for $3, a burger with side of homemade chips for $5, and more. I love our meal. The chicken wings were excellent, totchos were delicious, burger was tasty, however the Homemade Kettle Chips hit the home run. I can eat a whole bucket of it by myself, if I'm not careful. Portions are generous and service was surprisingly great. I'm addicted to Shuffleboard and they have a table there for free play. It doesn't cost you anything and it was so much fun. They also have foosball tables for $0.75 per play, a pool table, and an air hockey table. I didn't get a chance to play the horseshoe game out in the front. Next time, I'm on a mission to do that. I can see myself here enjoying the rest of the summer at their nice deck drinking some well drinks and indulge in happy hour. Good job, Blitz!

Happy Hour is 3-6 and 9-midnight every day. I like the bar...plenty of screens and they kept the basic layout from when it was Newport Bay. The happy hour food was extremely solid...pretty much typical pub fare for Portland, but done very well. They have a good representative selection of micros on tap...nothing extreme or novel, but that's probably smart for a sports bar. We didn't sample any wines or cocktails so can't comment on those. The service was attentive and friendly, and the happy hour prices made for a good dinner at darn near fast-food prices. Good deal.

A Blitz on this side of town? Nice. I think it's much better and much cleaner than the one in the Pearl. Much bigger too, with 3 rooms: restaurant, bar, game room. Of course we decided to settle down in the game room! Pool tables, dart boards, air hockey, basketball, etc. What more could you ask for? Hmm...maybe hot waitresses in bikinis, but I digress. We first got there around 5:45, just before HH was to end. We sat and waited for a server to come and take our order. Then we sat and waited. Waited some more. Then I finally decided to chase down the first worker I saw to ask if we could order through him since HH was about to end in 3 minutes. Yup, we waited for about 12 minutes and nobody even approached us! Am I that ugly? I guess my mother was lying to me all these years when she told me I was handsome =/ Anyways, besides that service flaw, I found myself enjoying the laid-back atmosphere of this Blitz, and I'm sure I'll be back many more times in the future.

Ive been a fan of Blitz and hit both the Pearl and Ladd locations. Good prices and drinks and the TV's. The new location in Tigard is freakin awesome. Went here with a buddy to catch the Timbers game. TV's cover every angle. The girls are smokin hot, they built a huge deck and they have Horseshoes too. I tried the ribs, huge portion great flavor. We also tried the Sausage trio and it was great too. They have 26 beers on tap got to try the Alameda black bear stout, this beer is a monster dont know how I have never found it before.I have found my new home for football season.

We went here with some friends from out of town. We wanted a laid back, bar type atmosphere with some fun things to do. We were lured in by the pool tables and shuffle board, and found ourselves pleasantly surprised to find darts, air hockey, pop a shot and foosball. I'm not sure I would bring money just for the games, but it was a nice way to spend the quarters that have been rolling around in my purse. We ordered off the happy hour menu, we got Tot-chos which were kinda dry, beer battered fries which were killer and the hummus plate which was tasty, but we needed a few more triangles of flat bread to be able to polish off all that hummus. The boys got some beers and the girls got some Smirnoff buckets which for $10 got us 32oz of sweet boozy delight! I will for sure go back just for one of these babies. The thing that's keeping me from giving this place 5 stars is service. Our waitress was nice, but the staff was disorganized and we had to go searching for her every time we needed anything. Several off duty waiters were sitting at the bar distracting the few people actually working the floor which was annoying. I should not have to compete for attention if your trying to make money off me. They have only been open for a few weeks though, so I look forward to them working on there service levels so that we can make this our new favorite drink spot.

I have been here quite a few times, the service is pretty normal for Portland. Its basically fair and usually ok. The menu, small... And bland. But good for when you are starving. During football season its always freezing and cold in the bar. They will turn the heat on but seems to be only after half the people complain and have gloves on. I like going but only in small doses.

This year by boyfriend went all out for my birthday. And after a whole birthday weekend I was pooped. My actual birthday was on Monday. While I planned to sprawl across my bed all night, it seemed as though the birthday festivities had to continue. The birthday eating/drinking/activities were all around Portland. A handful of my friends in Beaverton never made it out and probably felt bad so Monday evening rolls around I get some messages inquiring about my activities. Since each of these people live in Westside suburbia I skipped my Rogue Nation birthday beer and opted for something closer in. Blitz 99w is right up the street from where I currently live and brand spankin' new. I've been to the Blitz Ladd before and it was alright; I figured, why not? By the time plans are set and I make it into Blitz 99w it is about 10:30. We take a seat at the bar and are promptly acknowledged (oh yeah! goes my inner dialog). The server walks up and says "its last call." Our general reaction was obviously "whaaaaa..." followed by looking at a clock to find out if we have slipped forward in time. Nope, it was certainly 10:30. After this pause our server goes on to say, "do you want anything? I mean, we won't kick you out. We are just closing down the bar. You see, we've only been open a month and we are playing around with our hours." We each ordered one beer since the entire of our party had not made it there yet and we thought it best to change location once they found this one. Meanwhile we sip our beers watching more people walk into the bar. We can overhear the staff telling the guests that they are closed but that "the place next door is open and has really great appetizers!" I mean, really? Its cool to rec commend your neighbors if you think they are good, but shouldn't you at least TRY to promote your own business. Instead they stop a birthday get-together and continue to turn away potential guests. Good thing they are messing with their hours, now people *wont* be at all confused about when you are open. Solid business ideals. I will say they tried to compensate us by giving us each a card for $1 off a pint or $2 off a pitcher. And for that, I've been back once. But all of those other people they turned away didn't get cards. Its just not cool.

Food is usually good and wait staff is attentive. However might not come back since they've changed the menu for the worse. Items now are limited to a single page and the choice are not the best. Very disappointed, used to be a 2-3x a week customer, now looking for other venues.

I went here recently and I really enjoyed the new change (from the Newport bar and Grill to Blitz). My friend and I sat in the bar and had good drinks and service. I also went here for a birthday party and had a great time. The food and drinks were great! Parking was easy. They have a great happy hour too!!

Blitz is a fun place! Their artichoke dip is to die for. They have a pretty substantial happy hour menu ~ salad, hamburger, chicken skewers, artichoke dip etc. the waiters and waitresses are great and seem like they enjoy working there. The fun thing about Blitz is that they have different areas - outdoor deck, cozy bar, game room and restaurant and the wait staff is fine with people going back and forth between the game room and deck. The game room has 2 pool tables, 4 dartboards, air hockey, pinball, arcade games and a few other games.

Blitz has been around for a while, but we've just recently discovered it and love going there. We sit in the bar most places we go, and this one has a nice ambiance and low key feel to it. The staff has always been friendly, prompt and professional. One of the things that has brought us back more and more recently is that their food is always just really good. High quality to start with, prepared well, and consistently good. We met Trevor, one of the cooks there today, he brought our food out since the server was a little busy, and we really appreciated the extra effort on his part.

Cons: --- Incredibly noisy in the bar (on a Wednesday! night) --- The only seats less comfortable than those in the bar area are found on airplanes. --- Slow, careless, distant service. Clearly we were not in the server's wheelhouse demo. Pros: --- Great, local-focused draft beer choices. --- Ten large-screen TVs in the bar area. --- The fries were hot.

Okay. I'm surprised. I didn't expect the grub here to be so tasty or the menu so deep. It's a pretty chill atmosphere. They've got some table games and drink specials almost all the time. Lots of TVs for sports. Our server Tony was super friendly and quick. We'll come back.

Stopped by for lunch had a $10 Cobb salad. What I was Expecting is what you would get a most other places that offer a $10 Cobb salad. Usually a large salad stacked with all sorts of goodness (Cheese, meats, egg etc.. ) and maybe a side of Texas toast and plenty of salad dressing on the side. What I got was a medium sized salad, with a few toppings and a small to go sized Dixie container of Ranch. (The kind that hold about a tablespoon) When I asked for a couple more The Waitress did a few others things and then brought me just one more about 5min later. I was already more than half way through the salad. (There were maybe 6 people in the entire lounge?) The Food is average with an above average price, and below average service.

I called to ask how much the Calzones were after I couldn't find the prices ANYWHERE on their website. My friends and I were thinking about grabbing dinner and drinks from there and I was craving a good calzone. The man that answered the phone said he didn't have the prices. He told me to look online. I told him I did look online and couldn't find the prices anywhere; and that was why I was calling. He told me again to look online. Are you kidding me?? I am calling YOUR restaurant and you don't have the prices of YOUR food?? I'm telling you I can't find the prices, and you can't just grab a menu and get a price? Or look on your computer? If you are that inconvenienced by my phone call with a simple question, then I certainly will never eat at your establishment. Wow!! Extremely poor customer service. I have heard many stories about poor service while eating at Blitz, now I believe all the stories to be true.

We have only visited the new Blitz location once, to play darts. The game room leaves much to be desired. The basketball machine is located next to the dart machines and is loud and obnoxious. They also allow children so if you don't mind a Chuck E Cheese environment (complete with video games and screaming children) this is the place for you.

Just checked-out this new location. Large restaurant and bar. Lots of TV's although pretty lame that the bartenders can't just change the TV channels, they have to get the manager to do it. Cocktails were good. Menu was fine. Pretty typical sports bar menu but they did have a great Black Bean Burger. Service was adequate, although not as attentive as we would have liked. Everyone was friendly. Outside tables could have been cleaner. Overall, a good experience, but not 5 stars. Would go again if in a "sports bar" mood.

So we went for a late lunch today (08-22-11). We sat in the bar and it took a couple of minutes at least before we were acknowledged. When we were noticed the waitress/bartender came dropped off menus, told us what the drink specials were then walked away without asking if we wanted something to drink. No offense but it doesn't take too long to know what you're having to drink (we had something nonalcoholic so we definitely knew what we were drinking beforehand). When she came to take our order she asked what we wanted to drink and then seemed surprised that we were ready to order our food as well. I ordered the flank steak salad. I love flank steak so was looking forward to it. When it came out the steak had some sort of pesto (maybe not sure) that had been brushed on. It did not taste good. Had it been a fish of some sort the flavors probably would have meshed well together. Personally I think with steak just a little salt and pepper and grilling is perfect. It came out medium rare, which is what I asked for, so that was good. It was the thinnest flank steak I've seen(maybe they pound it down so it cooks quicker) and I've been eating flank steak since I was old enough to eat steak (birthday dinner every year since I was 3...41 now). The lettuce was nice and crispy and they put these deep fried spicy onions on top that were pretty tasty. My hubby ordered the club and said it was the driest club he's ever had. Service was a little slow which is disappointing when there are less than 5 people in the bar. I'd say that we probably won't be back which is too bad because we will be spending some time in Tigard and it's just down the street. So the hunt is on for another place to go.

I went to Blitz for the first time last night. The place was packed because of a MMA fight with St Pierre . However it was also a busy college football night because of the Ducks and Beavers games. Blitz doesn't charge a cover or a drink minimum on fight nights I quickly learned. That was because I literally had to walk through at least a dozen people either just standing or sitting in the lobby watching the fight . I got their at the end of the fight and these " patrons" had no food , beverage in hand ,or signs of a bill . I have worked in the bar and restaurant for ten years in cities like Honolulu and Las Vegas. Even with the crowd , management seemed content with people hanging out not spending any money. My wife walked in immediately got a good table and food was served quickly by a great server. The table in front of us had a very aggressive and vulgar man sitting there. According to the night manager he's a regular. My wife and I found him rude to the staff and his own guests. There was no sign of management walking around or any kind of control at the door. As soon as the fight ended 90% of the " patrons" left having not spent any or little money. My own experience is you cater to every customer as well as you can . Following the fight the staff seemed oblivious of the people there wanting to watch the football games. I realize the fan base of the MMA having lived in Las Vegas for 25 years where the sport really gained it's popularity. However you as a sports establishment you cater to all the guests in a controlled manner. My wife found the mostly all female staff nervous because of the rowdy crowd with no presence of management. If Blitz is a MMA bar fine but let your guest know as they walk in . I felt bad not only for my wife but the female staff that had to tolerate the crowd. DougH

I had higher hopes for Blitz! We came here for a late lunch and sat in the bar. The service was spotty...several items were forgotten, double orders of wings showed when we only ordered one, and there were several waitresses serving us and they still missed the mark. As for the food...meh. Not a lot of flavor in the calzone and the burger was nothing to write home about. I am officially taking this place off my "places to eat" list and keeping it only on the "places to drink" list.

HORRIBLE SERVICE. My husband and I went to have dinner at Newport and saw the new place and thought we would give it a try. After waiting in the lobby roughly 10 minutes, being completely ignored by any waitstaff we decided to leave. The place was not crowded at all. When the person finally said I will be right with you after blatantly ignoring us standing there we said we would go somewhere else. Come on, aren't restaurants competing for service in this economy and for pete's sake find people to work there who give a rip. RIDICULOUS, absolutely RIDICULOUS.
