Absolutely outstanding little venue. The owners are SO kind! Food items are creative deli stand style and are very delicious with generous portions. Drinks are great too. (the Lavender Lemonade was freaking amazing!!) Easy-easy 5 star rating for my fiance and I :). PS: also dog friendly!

Stopped by here on my way up to my station in bremerton washington. Staff couldn't be any friendlier, my sandwich was absolutely amazing, not to mention active military gets a free root beer float. Can't wait to try some of the other sandwiches in the future

My husband and I were on the road from Ashland to Portland today, and Yelp led us to this gem of a place! Tucked into the small town of Sutherlin, Nellie's is an unbeatable spot for grabbing a gourmet sandwich or freshly prepared salad when passing through the area. Just off the I-5 freeway, the cheery building and friendly personalities of Dave and Nellie make the experience all the more special! Today, we devoured a Wrangler Sandwich (ham, salami, olive tapenade & provolone) and an Asian Chicken Salad (toasted almonds, fresh greens, crunchy noodles and to-die-for Thai peanut dressing). For dessert, we shared a little sack of brownie bites, and washed it down with homemade iced tea! Your taste buds will thank you for skipping McD's golden arches and heading for the little building with the red awning instead. :) Thanks Dave and Nellie, we will be back!

Recently traveling thru the beautiful town of Sutherlin, Oregon, my husband and I searched out Nellies Deli. We happen to know the owner, Nellie and Dave and knew it would be a great place to have lunch. It was just as we expected after Dave finally recognized us. Great tasting sandwiches!! So much to choose from it was hard to decide. Dave had the Cowpoke because he loves beef and I had the City Slicker, because turkey is my favorite. Had a great time visiting. Wish we could have stayed longer, but we could see how busy they were, so we traveled on. Good job you two. You should make this a MUST on your travels thru this area. It's just a little detour off the freeway that you will certainly enjoy! Dave & Deb

Do NOT miss this place! Best sandwiches in Oregon and delicious clam chowder to boot. Yes, it is a stand in a parking lot, but if you let that get in your way of a great meal then you've got more problems than missing this great sandwich joint. The owners are extremely friendly and the outside seating/stand decor is very well maintained. I ordered the cowpoke on honey wheat and a peach tea. The family got a wrangler, couple of root beers, and a clam chowder. The sandwiches were made fresh and up quick. Perfect bite of spice complements the tender meaty flavor on the cowpoke, while my dad says that the wrangler is a great blend of provolone smoke and garlicky goodness. The clam chowder is great with unique additions like carrots and red potatoes.

What a gem. It was like gold panning and we hit pay dirt.driving north on I 5 checking yelp for food, we decided to try Nellies. Glad we did! We were almost fooled, looks like a drive thru coffee hut.... It's a drive thru sandwich, soup, salad, drinks, hut. I had the special. 1/2 sandwich w clam chowder( lots a clams) and the most delicious peach tea. Loved it. My husband had the city slicker. Turkey, cranberry the works. The bread is made fresh and the sandwiches are huge. We will split a sandwich next time. Lot of locals were picking up phone orders while we were there. Eat in you car driving or they have a cute picnic table to eat there. Deserts looked yummy. The owners are very friendly and so nice. Try the ice teas. Peach, lavender or even lemon. It was speedy service.

Ordered the Giddy-up, trail blazer and goat&beet salad. Everyrthing was delicious, the beets need special mention. The service was also excellent, thank you for bringing out strawberries for our kids!

Just passing through, in need of fuel for the car and us, my wife Yelped up Nellie's as the highest rated place for grub in Sutherlin and the people proved correct! Nellies Deli makes up simple sandwiches with a smart ingredient or two to max out the deliciousness. We shared a packed turkey sandwich priced just right. We're not big beet fans, but went out on a limb and also tried their Beet & Goat Cheese Salad. The gamble paid off! It was light and refreshing with such a wide variety of tasty ingredients. If you get a chance to try their carrot cake, don't miss out! It's the best carrot cake I've ever had. No frosting and it didn't need it. The top was almost syrupy sweet and the cake itself was good and moist. The couple that owns Nellie's are friendly and nice as could be. I wish them well. They deserve it!

Thanks to Yelp, we stopped by this gem on the way down from Seattle to SF. Amazing sandwiches - large amount of quality meat and lettuce/tomatoes were super fresh. Can't recommend this place enough!

Great place to stop while traveling through! Fresh and much better then the normal "fast food". We stopped while on a road trip. The owners are super sweet and seriously the best sandwiches in Oregon!

Visited this great place again on our way down I5. We purposely timed our drive so we could have lunch here. Just can't say enough good things about the food and friendly service. Sandwiches are excellent. Ciabatta bread was light and the chipotle mayo on the meatloaf sandwich gave it a great little kick. If you are traveling on I5 thru Sutherlin you shouldn't pass this up!

Great first time experience. Yelped this spot while traveling on our way back home from a family vacation. Amazing sandwiches. Great tasting broccoli cheddar soup. Owners were super friendly and had a nice chat with them while waiting for our food. Found out they were native Californians like ourselves. Would definitely recommend this spot for lunch if your passing through Sutherlin.

I enjoyed the "special" today, a Ruben sandwich. We are on our way out of Oregon but will return next spring. I'm looking forward to more meals at Nellies. This is a unique deli with meals to-go or at outdoor tables. The quality of the food makes a trip to Nellies worthwhile. If you are driving on I-5, Nellies is east about 1/4 mile at exit 136.

We were passing through town when we found this great little gem! We had the giddy up sandwich, and it was delicious!! The owners were VERY friendly as well and even gave our puppies the left over chicken from the sandwich :) You should try the home baked snickerdoodle cookies, they are amazing!

So fresh, and didn't skimp on the meat for my sandwich. Prices very reasonable for the quality. Really makes subway seem like a joke. Will be back many many times. Very friendly staff. And even took my order 15 min before they opened. Rather than making me wait :)

2 friends and I were road tripping through looking for a quick healthy food option to no avail when we stumbled across Nellies! Nellie is a sweetheart who makes a great sandwich and an amazing lavender ice tea! Basically the best thing you could eat when driving through the area!

All you I-5 travelers.... do yourself a favor and drive right by the Burger King and MacDonald's in Sutherlin and go to Nellies. It's less than a mile up the road... and it's quick service. This place serves fresh made food and it's really, really good. I had the asian salad with chicken and was totally impressed.

Simply fantastic! This isn't fancy food, but it is simple food done amazingly well. I stopped by for lunch. Thank goodness I did... This is how I remember food being when I was a kid, before everything was Sysco Foods. Stop by, you won't be disappointed
