Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.
Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. Today, Applebee's serves at more than 1,830 locations worldwide. The Applebee's menu ranges from Appetizers and Salads to heavy meals consisting of ribs and steak. Stopped in on our way to Seattle, Washington. The food was sad looking. Personally, my fiancé's sand which would have made better at home. My sons bean and cheese was a dry mess. Not to impressed with customer service, either. Don't think I'll ever consider a second time in.

The service was excellent but the food was not appealing. I ordered soup and something else during my first visit and although that wasn't good I figured since it is a local restaurant I would give them another shot. During my second visit I had meatloaf and gravy, and BlackBerry pie with ice cream. The ice cream was good. The meatloaf was the worst I've ever tasted- it had the texture of steak tartare. Yuck. I ordered it to-go and could not swallow one fork full. The BlackBerry pie was just bitter and the gravy tasted like Brown vinegar. The ice cream was good though. Service=5 Food=0

If you are choosing between the taco bell, mc donalds, and burger king off this secluded exit, you may be better going to apple peddler if you want to spend a few more dollars and want a bit of a rest before driving some more. I liked the food enough and the service was a-ok; however, the pie fruit filling is mostly sugar and little fruit. The burgers and fries will hit the spot, although my stomach was hurting the next morning (I knew I was going to pay for that grease bomb). It's right next to the Guesthouse Inn and open 24 hrs. Locals definitely like to come here. I came by around 10pm on a Saturday and there were a few retired couples that were very friendly to the staff (asking about their kids) - how cute!

Terrible food! If you happen to stay at the nearby Best Western Plus (which is a good place to stay), they will give you coupons for this diner. Do not fall for that. We ordered the fried chicken dinner and and the chicken steak dinner and both were almost inedible.

All the bad reviews had ONE thing in common... they never tried the cod fish and chips! Best fish and chips I have had at a diner! real fresh cod that compares to most halibut big CHUNKS not nasty fillets from china. they were not greasy. I worked in Roseburg and thats all I ate because they were so good and the price was around $10. Locals around Sutherlin probably dont know this site just like I didnt but worth stopping at is your a fish fan. Also they serve malt vinegar..nothing worse than a restaurant that sells fish and "chips" and doesnt carry MV! If you dont carry it then call it "fish and fries" you fat american tartar muck sauce mayo lardasses!

Needless to say the food was delicious!! I had the pork-chops; they were moist, and not dry!! Biscuits and gravy were just as tasty. Son had the chili burger. Chili was savory and there was plenty to go around. Even my mom was happy with her portion size and quality of the food and she can be hard to please. Super plus, coffee was great tasting. Finally, the service was excellent. Waitresses were polite, quick and friendly. Couldn't have asked for a better choice!

Needed a place to stop coming back to California from Washington. Cute dinner off the freeway. Had a $7.95 steak and eggs special. Good portions with potatoes and gravy, toast too. My son had a burger and fries and liked it. They had a dessert menu with seasonal pies but we were stuffed. Nice and friendly service.

Not a good experience! I ordered the meatloaf dinner. The meatloaf was microwaved as the edges of the meatloaf were so hard, indicative of being microwaved too long. The mashed potatoes must have been of the frozen type because it was still cold in the middle and apparently not microwaved long enough. My clam chowder was good though. The corn was obviously frozen corn but still good. I won't be returning to any of the Apple peddler restaurants thanks to this experience.

What ....no wifi???? Okay, nothing special food...service was great. But no wifi, what is a business person or truck driver to do while waiting. Ho hum. I guess we have to go to Abbey's for breakfast next time.
(3)Carmen K.
Okay food, comparable to a Denny's or Shari's. Open 24 hours which is nice. The food is too expensive for what it is. The decor is AWFUL. But I have been here lots of times over the past five or so years and have always had good service. I'd say their breakfast is the best meal to go there for.
(3)Daniela G.
Deep dish Dutch apple pie! Delicious! Grease spoon to the max but the service was friendly and attentive and they're open 24 hours!
(4)Alice A.
Pretty standard greasy spoon. Food was ok, but nothing to write home or on Yelp about. Eggs, pancakes, bacon, hash, cheese etc for breakfast. Coffee was diluted as expected. 2.5 stars overall. Well, 3 stars instead of 2 because the local retired seemed to like it.
(3)Nancy L.
Irritating sign in entrance. "If you can afford electricity, you can afford to install solar." They should focus on their food and service/ The food less than stellar. Has been great in the past, but won't be back.
(2)Robert K.
This restaurant needs to use fresh ingredients in the dinner meals, salads were limp, taco salad had a strangely spiced ground meat (beef?), the liver and onions were passable, but the side dish (peas) tasted like they were out of a can. The polish sausage was strange. The service was excellent. Too bad the food didn't match. This was the second time in two weeks we tried this restaurant. This will not be a repeat. There are other eateries in the area to try.

Came for a late breakfast on a Sunday. Place is like an Elmers, Dennys, Shari's, etc. Menu has pretty much everything. I had the veggie omelette, which wasn't that special, but tasted fine. The biscuits were amazing, and with apple butter I was in biscuit heaven. These biscuits are in my top 3. My buddy even liked them, and he is not a biscuit fan. He also said the country gravy was really good and he enjoyed his bacon, swiss, and broccoli omelette. I would probably come back for the biscuits and the deserts looked very tempting.
(3)Krista T.
Open 24 hrs. I'm pretty sure this is the only place open 24 hrs anywhere near Roseburg (in fact I think it may be the only place open after 9 pm). 5 stars for that fact alone. A big A+ for serving me "French Toast Plus" at about 2:30 AND for being real nice about it (despite the fact that I may or may not have been a little tipsy).
(5)Ron H.
Open 24 hrs... pretty much like Denny's. Ok food, clean and nice.
(3)Kayla P.
This place was pretty fantastic. I was a tad nervous at first. it's off the beaten path, there was no one in the huge restaurant, and the yelp reviews were fairly poor. We went anyway and were pleasantly surprised. The service was a little slow but we were in no rush either so. The food was delicious. We got burgers, patty melts, and omelettes that were all fresh and made to order. We also got two desserts that were pretty tasty as well. Overall a very great experience and we are glad we went!

Stopped in for breakfast on the way out of Oregon. I had the cfs with Biscuits and gravy. the Biscuits and Gravy were delicious and I should have ordered two of those and quit. The other stuff was fine, but the biscuits and gravy were so delicious! The kids liked their pancakes too. The pink décor was a hoot- my daughter loved it!
(4)Kassie R.
Fist let me say that I appreciate that they are open 24 hours. In a small town where most things close at 10, this is very convenient. My waitress was very friendly. Unfortunately, that is about all I can say good about the place. We were given small water glasses, never asked if we wanted something else to drink (but the waters were filled frequently so that's something). During the 7pm dinner rush, there was 1 cook and 2 waitresses, all acting as host/busser as the need arose. They needed more people on the floor. The food was mediocre for the most part. One of my party had the fried pork chops - the meat had gone bad. The waitress offered to get her something else, but after tasting bad meat, you don't really want anything else. The pies (all but the "special") are frozen, not made in house, which is VERY disappointing. But the other desserts were pretty good. I would suggest the sandwiches over the dinner plates - or better yet, breakfast over anything else.

We like eating here. The staff is friendly, food is good. Rating a 3 ONLY BECAUSE booths seating are frayed and unattractive. Surely management has EYES??? CAN YOU SEE YOUR SEATING NEEDS HELP!! Please re-upholster your environment for a nicer look. Facility if VERY CLEAN though
(3)R M.
This Apple Peddler, like others I have tried, has ordinary good cafe food. My chiliburger was okay, with ( I think) canned chili beans) though the onions were not well cut; the fries were firm with good taste, but a bit too much salt. Too little salt is always best because there is always a salt shaker on the table. However, it seems the management is not up to parr here: 1. Although the place had lists of empty seats, the hostess had only one menu for us. 2. I noticed another couple must of gotten tired of waiting for their check and went to the cashier to request it. 3. The cook got my order wrong and I overheard a waitress tell him another order was wrong.
(3)Linda S.
Worst place ever!!! Will not go back again! This was the second time we tried Apple Peddler and it will be the last!! The first time food was borderline and service was o.k. We said we would never return....We had unexpected out of town company drop by who wanted to go out for dinner. Seeing how choices in Sutherlin are limited and close early we went back the the Apple Peddler. Food was horrible!! The salad had rotting lettuce in it. The meatloaf was unrecognizable as such.Worst meatloaf I have ever tasted. Liver and onions was totally inedible, it was burnt and had an odd taste and texture. Hamburger was overcooked and dry. The only food on our table which was o.k was the french fries. And to top that all off they automatically added $5 to our bill without our knowledge. Did not know about it until we checked our bank account. If it were not for their placement next to the freeway they would be out of business.
(1)Tom K.
My vegetarian omelette was great and the service was fantastic. My expectations were wildly exceeded. But how do you not have WiFi in a 24-hour diner? Is that still legal?
(1)Sandie B.
The name sounded so cute and quaint so we decided to try it. Unfortunately, the food is just edible and way overpriced... The service was ok, not great. Won"t be putting this place on our route..,, :(.
(1)Laurie B.
This is a decent coffee shop (like Denny's). We were there last night and had some interesting specials--chunky cream of tomato soup with bacon and pasta was one. Another was apple almond stuffed chicken legs with penne pasta and vegetables in cheese sauce.
