This is the perfect spot to grab a quick bite and a drink- the hummus was delightful. I also had one of their sandwiches and it was the perfect balance of bread to condiment to meat. Although I enjoyed my banh mi sandwich I could help but eye my coworkers buffalo wings, maybe next time. The drink and food menu is diverse enough that it is also a great place to take friends (borrowing a game from the collection is an added bonus if you are with friends). The vibe was cool and casual. Like many local places they had artwork on the wall however unlike many places they had a bulletin board of activities, one of them being an art class and I will be curious to see what else they do in the future. Looking forward to having a growler place where you don't have to fight Eugene downtown traffic after work. I think the place opened not all that long ago and it is definitely on the list to revisit.

Went in for the first time, the place was almost empty, besides a small group of people in the front. We sat at the bar. We received less than adequate service from the bartender, he was soft spoken, made very little eye contact, and wouldn't hold a conversation about the taps available, personal beer suggestions, or the business itself. I was even more so disappointed to find out that he was partial owner. The worst part about the whole experience was honestly the smell. It smelt strongly of what I can only identify as cat urine. I was very happy to leave.

It's your new hometown stomping grounds! Trivia on Tuesday with free prizes, weekly live music, painting nights... And uhh duh growler fills of quality beer! Don't forget to try their hot wings.

I checked out Growler Underground for the first time yesterday, and I was pleasantly surprised. Their space is cozy and inviting with a bookshelf full of games to pass the time along with your beers. The very nice bartender (or is it beertender) set us up with several tastes of the wide range of beers. I loved the chalkboard display for their beer-mostly because someone drew a perfect storm trooper. I didn't find a beer that I loved this time, but that's ok. I did find a good, dark beer that I liked. We also had the hummus plate with pita made by 100 Mile Bakery-very tasty. This place is a nice addition to downtown Springfield. I will take advantage of their happy hour frequently this summer.

Food is great! All local and made in house. Great rotating beer list and growler program can't be beat. Never have to pay for glass just a fill and if you bring a growler you get points toward a free fill. Fill it 9 times and the 10th is free! All this and they have events too, trivia, painting class, open mic and live music on Fridays! This is my favorite hang out in town.

Good beer selection and good food. Definitely a good choice. Loved being able to sit outdoors and enjoy my beer.

This place is great! Great beer selection, nice atmosphere, friendly staff, outdoor seating- which is big for us since we roll with our pups. Highly recommend checking this place out.

The Growler Underground is a great new spot. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Very respectable selection. I counted 24 taps for beer and cider, 4 more for wine (Yes, they have wine on tap), a few for kombucha, and I think they even have a couple sodas on tap, too. They definitely have some beers you don't see everyplace. For instance, as of last night, they had Bourbon County Stout on tap. But in my mind, there are two things that really set this place apart. The first is the growler program. Every other place I've seen that does growler fills charges for growlers, often around $7 for the bottle. Growler Underground gives you the growler free of charge. And if you bring a growler to them, either for a fill or just to turn it in, they give you points toward a free fill. And this applies no matter whether you got the growler from them or someone else. When I learned about this, I cleaned out my collection of old growlers and unloaded on them. The second is the food. A growler place with food? Yes. And. It. Is. Awesome. I've tried the Buffalo wings, chili, banh mi sliders, brats, and duck confit. Everything was amazing! And best part, they make their own duck confit, their own brats, their own sauces and chili. From scratch. At a growler place? I couldn't believe it. I'm telling you, this place is a find.

Service and engaging with customers is something they know nothing about. Truly bizzarre. It's as though they have absolutely no idea they're in the service industry. As I write this, the bartender (who's far more personable than the owner but equally untrained) is behind the bar eating and texting. The owner should never come out from behind the black curtains. Ever. Its very slow here yet everyone still has to get up to get their food or beverages. They just poured a pint glass 3/4 full because all the proper size glasses are empty on the customers tables and don't get cleared until they leave or bring them up themselves, truly pathetic. Cool to have a place like this in downtown Springfield. It's quaint it's clean and they have a great selection of beer, but until they up their game substantially, you'll get stale beer (we had one) and zero service

Great selection, knowledgeable staff, board games, and local art. What more can you ask for in this hidden SF gem? Oh, and did I mention the food is great!? Not full portions, but certainly noshable. If they "cozied" up the decor/paint scheme to give a little more inviting feel, this would be 5 stars in a heartbeat. As I see it, the minimalist vibe doesn't make me wanna sit and imbibe. I'll definitely be back.

I had a pretty good experience there. You can pick your own flight, so I tried all of the ciders. They also include the glass if you buy a growler. I haven't tried the food yet, but next time I shall. The art on the wall is lovely.
