Went to this location after walking out of the pioneer park way location. This is the first time visiting this location since the remodel. So much better. Great service lighting was great. Very modern great food great service. I had the stuffed hash brown and country fried steak.

Open on Christmas Eve! So relieved we weren't relegated to fast food!! They are near Sacred Heart Medical Center Service was fast, staff was friendly and quick, food was very good. Glad Denny's was closed, this was better :-)

Pleasant and personable customer service. A huge range of prize winning pies that look simply stunning. I got lucky and dined here on Wednesday night when they apparently, give away a free piece of pie. I had to chose one over so many options, I finally picked the Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie, and oh my goodness! It was the most uniquely assembled and absolutely scrumptious piece of pie I ever had.

Over the course of my life I've been to probably two dozen or more Shari's and have never been so disappointed as I have lastnight. The "new" remodeled sharis by Gateway re-opened a few days ago and we thought we'd give it a shot. Right away I should've known that something was up, the new entrance is all metal/glass and feels very sterile, the inside is overly bright and the high backed booths are now extremely short, making for a view of everyone in the building. On to the food! We ordered the Trail Boss burger and fries, a breakfast sampler, and a kids combo platter. All of the food arrived with with no salt on the fries, and were old and stale. The food was also unseasoned, the burger had no taste at all, and the kids mini corn dogs were burnt so bad she couldn't eat them. The breakfast sampler looked like it had been under a hotlamp for 10 minutes as everything was melted into the plate and the pancakes were burned (really? who burns pancakes?!). The strawberry lemonade was also flavorless and watered down. When we asked for a manager she informed us that since the remodel, that corporate sent word that no more seasoning or salt was to be used on meals (are you kidding?), and that its the way it is now. In the future she said we have to ask for "more seasoning" to get it like it used to be. How ridiculous is that? I plan on calling corporate because no restaurant in their right mind would ever serve any food that wasn't seasoned. In the end they comp'd us on our appetizer and kids meal so that was the one saving grace, but she did it so easily and quickly that it seems like it was the norm for them. I will never return to this Shari's and I would be very wary if you do go to the newly remodeled location. Ask your server if they're seasoning things like normal again and if not get them to!

Not the new selection that they advertise. Slow service for how few people there were. Sad strawberries on the pie for them being in season and the big promotion.

This was our first time to Shari's and was our last choice of eateries. While visiting with our daughter and fellow Yelper chose to watch Forrest Gump in our hotel room it got a tad late and on a Friday evening and upon our first stop for vittles was a brew pub across the street named, HOP VALLEY BREWING CO in Springfield,Or and it was packed to the rafters with a hour wait, nope! Next try was The Outback next door, not even a parking spot, damn! what's that I see? Shari's across the street, so off we go and like with Elmer's weren't disappointed. I had the Cedar Plank Wild Alaskan Salmon with rice pilaf and Willamette Valley vegetables and served with grilled garlic flat bread. Delicious! My bride chose the slow-cooked, fork-tender pot roast, served with pearl onions, celery and baby carrots from the Willamette Valley. Served with fresh red-skinned mashed potatoes topped with rich brown gravy and bakery-fresh dinner roll. Ditto! And my daughter went for breakfast and had the two eggs and applewood smoked Bacon with hashbrowns and toast, and quite good I might add. Very nice diner-ish restaurant and we will visit again while in the Pacific Northwest.

Phil was champ of a server. Kind and courteous with a great attitude all while dealing with an obviously inept kitchen staff. They blew the order of appetizer to dinner, sending my WAY over cooked prime rib before the sadly late and obviously frozen mozzarella sticks second, and after a request for them. Since this took nearly an hour, I had them anyway. Wish I would've gotten a salad to go and skipped the fiasco. Only reason that the second star is there was because the FOH staff was friendly.

I happen to like Shari's. I had lunch at this location with friends today. We had very good service and the food was r really well done. I had the Cuban sandwich and it was yummy. There was lots of the pulled pork in it and the pork was just so tender and delicious. And the bread, like ciabatta was crispy and tender. I have had the Cuban at another Shari's and there was not as much of the pork and it was a little dry. One friend had eggs benedict that looked delicious. Another friend had quiche with fresh fruit and it was just a beautiful plate of food. Overall, we had a really nice lunch with good food and good service. Who could ask for more?

We were seated right away. Took them 15 minutes to take our order. Then 45 minutes to receive our food. The portions were small, and over priced. The fries looked wilted (as if they were sitting out for 45 minutes), the waitress kept forgetting who ordered what, and was not attentive. They made it right, managers are awesome

The food is typical Shari's food. You get what you pay for. Chain food. However, I was stunned with the exceptional service we had, and I don't state that often at a Shari's. We only went in for pie after dinner and had Mackenzie and what a great server. Cheerful, attentive, caring and on top of everything. A real treat in a normal stagnant environment.

After being stuck in Eugene after a canceled flight yesterday we were put up in a hotel in Springfield. After grabbing dinner at Outback across the street we walked to Shari's for dessert. Thinking I'd be able to just get a scoop of chocolate ice cream and go back to the hotel, I was excited. Only they didn't have that. But what they did have was so much better! Pie shake! I had the s'mores pie made into a shake. It was delicious. I've never heard of a pie shake before. Our waitress was super nice. It was a delicious treat.

Nachos: They're made with chicken chili. Why? Why would you replace delicious beef with chicken? Chicken meat is too watery to put on nachos, it makes them soggy. And chicken doesn't have the right kind of taste and texture. You can't put really stringy things on nachos (unless it's BBQ pork). The nacho chips, cheese and all that are good, and the flavor of the chicken isn't that bad, but you know: Chicken + Nachos = Wrong. Atmosphere: Kind of old fashioned, dark, not optimal for eating nachos. Service: Service is usually pretty good. The Shari's here isn't very big, and because of its shape, there's usually a server nearby.

Shari's is a chain and I usually hate chains. They do a pretty good job, they keep thier help awhile and means they are a good place to work, I respect that. Food is chain restuarant OK and the place is real busy. I only go at breakfast time so that's all I can speak to. It's good, fast, and not overpriced. If you are on Gateway, go try them instead of the pancake chain accross the street.

The worst thing was the BAD taste of the shrimp in my shrimp and cheese omelette!! That will keep me from going back for a meal. :/ My husband and I were both very disappointed with the portion sizes of our omelettes! VERY small! We were there on 01/27/13 mid afternoon.

Three and a half stars. You Oregonians are spoiled rotten with the fabulous maple-wood smoked bacon and other pork products that are available here. To compare Shari's to Denny's is a huge disservice. Granted, Shari's is a coffee shop, but it uses local ingredients, and the pancakes are better than IHOP. Service was friendly and prompt. We would definitely come here again if we were in the area. Also, it is easy access from I-5. Wish we had Shari's near our home in CA.

Only been to a Sharis once. Half our group had never been to one. This was a pleasant surprise. Went for a saturday lunch. Not busy at all. Service was GREAT. Food was great. Had grilled cheese and a salad. 8 people in our party and everyone finished their plates with not one complaint! Even had pie which was sooo good!

Been doing monthly company meetings here for several years. We come, we keep reasonably quiet, we order food and drinks sometimes more food. Every other time we've had nice pleasant waiters and waitresses they ask how our meeting went or offer drink refills and pies. Except tonight, We get there and order food and drinks and one of the staff orders additional food. Almost every 10 minutes this new to us waitress "Carly" would come by and in a rude and snarky attitude would ask us if we were ordering more food. We were virtually the only people in the restaurant for the duration of our meeting but this seemed to make her annoyed to have to do anything at all. After our meeting was over we went to pay and in doing so the waitress asked uninterestedly asked how the meeting went. "Just mentally tired" Said our supervisor, Carly replied "You can only have a meeting for an hour and everyone has to order food." As the bill was being paid the supervisor said "We had ordered food"(Obviously since there was a bill) though she told us we hadn't ordered Enough food! And not to come back unless we ordered more next time. And when she was told we would take our business elsewhere if they didn't want it, she replied "Yeah I guess you can". So I guess there's a new unwritten rule of Shari's that you can't go there in groups and order the whole table food and pay for it with one check.

Ok, this is Shari's, so the food at any of these is meh. It's ok, but there are definitely better diners. For all of you from the midwest, think of Shari's as a crappy Perkins. Anyway, as for the reason for the one star. I've gotten REALLY bad service here, and I mean REALLY bad. I came here with a couple friends late at night. Despite there being 5 other people eating here, our waiter didn't check on our drinks for over half an hour. Our food was even slower coming out. That's not all though! We were playing cards. Not with a Bicycle deck or anything, it was some sort of store-bought card game. Anyway, the owner/manager or whoever comes up and tells us we can't play cards in there. We ask him why, and he doesn't give us a real reason. The jerk wouldn't even let us play cards to pass the time while his restaurant's terrible service was keeping us waiting way too long for our subpar food. Needless to say, we didn't tip the waiter a penny. When we got our bill, it said his name was "Raymo". WTF kind of name is RAYMO?

If you aren't familiar with this chain, it is the same style as Denny's but with a little bit better food. If you're going to eat at a Shari's than this is the one to visit. I've eaten here a few dozen times over the past eight years and a few times at other Shari's locations and I prefer this one. The food is high quality for this type of food. Several employees have been working here since I've been coming here so I think that helps the place be consistent. The interior of the restaurant is very relaxing and you don't feel like you're on a busy intersection. Most of the booths face East away from the road so it's nice and quiet.

I went to Shari's with hash-browns and eggs in mind and was expecting something like Denny's-style food. They had a pretty decent menu with things that you would expect to see (steak and eggs) and things that were unexpected (potsticker Asian salad). I ended up being sold on a burger that had bleu cheese, grilled onions and bacon. The burger came with lettuce and tomatoes and a kaiser bun, and a side of fries. The fries were fresh, hot, and lightly seasoned, and the burger... was delicious! I had my choice of how it was cooked, so I got it a little pink. It was so juicy and satisfying! The bun was fresh, the lettuce was a large leaf of romaine, and the tomato slices were fresh as well. The people working there were all very friendly and the food came pretty quickly. My sister's boyfriend got the seafood platter and I tried a shrimp: awesome. Tasty, moist and crispy. The only thing I didn't about this restaurant was the decor/atmosphere. It was very old looking in my opinion. Also, looking out of the windows, I could see spiders in their webs, stretched across the greenery. I just hate spiders, so I'm a little sensitive. I would definitely go there again... maybe next time I'll have the stuffed hash-browns, stuffed with sour cream and topped with cheddar cheese, scallions and bacon bits! Yum!!

I love coming to this Shari's. It is by far my favorite Shari's in Oregon. I usually come in late at night with a large group of friends. They are almost always very accommodating and friendly, even if we show up unannounced with 12+ people. The server we get almost every time, Heath, is AMAZING. Super friendly, and laid back, and just... awesome. I really keep coming to this Shari's for the service I get from Heath, because really, all Shari's food is about the same from restaurant to restaurant.
