So far the food I've had the 3 times I've been here has been decent Mexican food, I will for sure be back. Great breakfast burritos also!

We were exhausted and starve when arrived at the Springfield station so we want to have a lunch really quick. We noticed this spot which is right next to the station. They have plenty of dishes for vegetarians but no combo plate. The cashier is a young lady who is patient an helpful. Since there's no veggie plate on the menu, she tried to build a new one with the lowest price, and she made it! My dish has rice, beans, tomatoes, onions, cheese, lettuce and guacamole and only costs $3.25! She also told me how to order this in a low price if I would come next time. 5 stars for her!

This place used to be my favorite spot for breakfast burritos. I work down the street and my coworkers and I get breakfast about 2-3 times a week here. The problem with this place is that you only get a good burrito 1/3 of the time. They are extremely inconsistant and have employees that literally don't give a damn about customer service or the way they make their food. I can't tell you how many times I've had to throw away a breakfast burrito I took ONE bite out of because it was so bad. Some days they are the most delicious burrito I've ever had and then some days I don't even know what I ate. This morning I got one and was so excited to eat it. I took my first bite and saw A LOT of egg whites, thought that was weird, so I took another bite only to find out the eggs weren't even cooked and the yolk broke open inside the burrito and from there it was ruined. They didn't even scramble the eggs!!!!! LIKE WHAT!?! I can't even believe this place functions when it can't even make something as simple as a breakfast burrito. Soooo disappointed and definitely never coming here again. Ridiculous and awful. I do not recommend, not AT ALL.

I liked the flan. But my toddler was the smartest of the both of us, because he threw his food on the floor. I had a burrito and got sick for the first time in many years. Besides the fact that it made me sick, it was also salty yet somehow extremely bland at the same time. I wouldn't call this authentic at all, but I guess I'm spoiled, having lived in California and Texas.

I had a chorizo breakfast burrito here at 8:30 AM today. Tasted fine. Really liked the Jalapeño green sauce. Unfortunately I'm now missing a concert I bought tickets for 2 months ago, as I've been 'not well' today. Not saying it was the burrito, just saying the burrito is the only thing I had today. Gotta go, it's time for a tablespoon of Gatorade. Wish me luck.

Food is okay. It seems they are cutting back on the amount of meat they use. If you are in a hurry skip this place as there is no sense of urgency whatsoever.

Just blocks from my house and you get the best "fast food" Mexican you can have! I get the chicken enchilada combo and my husband gets the big burritos and it fills us both up! Our kids get the little burritos and it's just enough for them cause they are sooo picky...

I find the food excellent every time I order something! Sometimes a little overly salty but thats only occasionally But the reason I selected 4 is because of the inconsistent service. I go in there at lunch during the business week and they are focused and your order is out in timely manner. If you go on the weekends I have had two poor experiences: once, I went in there and my husband and I were unable to sit at our table and talk in normal level because the 2 workers had the the tv so loud. The second time they had a fairly large order ahead of us which wasn't the problem. The problem was the family had more people order after we had ordered. They expedited their items and they had their food before us. I question if us being white had anything to do with this. They also mixed up our order a little Moral of the story: Go on week days. Don't go on weekends.

Seriously, if you go here, get the ceviche tostada - $2.50 and stacked with shrimp, onion, cilantro, lime, and what looks like half an avocado sliced over the top. The burritos are okay - nothing special but fresh, cheap, and fast. Same goes for the tacos. I've been stopping here pretty often lately as I've had lots of mid-day business on the dark side of the river...

This was my first visit to Los Faroles Taqueria. I enjoyed the food but felt it was a bit over priced compared too some other taquerias I have been too. I ordered the Chicken Taco for $2.25 and the Chicken Sope for $3.00 The amount of chicken was abundant on the taco and was on top of 2 small corn tortillas. A bit of onion and cilantro was placed on top and a garnish of lime on the side. The taco was nice and warm. The salsa verde (green sauce) was the perfect combination of spiciness and warmth (I am a gringo about spicy food lol) I prefer a leaner shredded chicken over the boiled and chopped up kind. My only complaint about the chicken was that it had a few grisly patches. The Chicken Sope was topped chicken, beans, lettuce, shredded cheddar cheese blend and sour cream. The beans were AMAZING. My only complaint was that it was missing Queso Cotija (mexican cheese). Instead they opted to add shredded cheddar and mozzarella blend cheese. This totally threw the taste of the entire sope off. All in all it was a good meal. The ambiance was a little awkward at times. The Taqueria is in the Springfield Bus Station so you have a lot of different types of people coming and going and walking in and out. The large screen TV alternated playing muffled Spanish music and men talking loudly and abruptly. While the building offered a lot of seating space, it felt very confusing as to whether I was supposed to be enjoying a hispanic taqueria atmosphere or a trendy fusion restaurant. In the end I thought the food was good but pricey. I would come back again...for the Sope =)

burrito was ok, not as good or big as el taco grande next to gateway. Not to mention .50 cent more! Ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito, your basic burrito, But only gets a 2 because: 1. smaller burrito. (still good portion) 2. does not taste as good. 3. costed 5 dollars, to a 4.50 at el taco grande. Green sauce was pretty good though, I will give them that!

This is a good Mexican Restaurant, but it isn't really a place to bring your family for a sit down meal. It is always clean & they have great service. However, it is at a city bus terminal & set-up more like a open mall eatery. They offer the standard Mexican fare found at a hundred other Mexican joints.

This place sucks. I ordered a bacon breakfast burrito. The burrito was nothing special. I also was wondering where all the bacon was. Then half way through I pulled out a completely raw piece of bacon, I was disgusted. I brought it to the attention of the people behind the counter. She became upset with me and told me since I ate half of it I couldn't have it replaced or my money back. I threatened to call the health department and she took my burrito in the back immediately. After that I got my money back. Never will eat there. And I believe they don't like white people. Go in there and you will see how horrible it is.

Los Faroles is one of the cleanest taquerias you will ever visit. The food is reasonably priced, a big veggie burrito is just under $5 and a bean and cheese burrito will cost you $2.75. I've been caught more than once scoring a chicken tamal here for breakfast when I've skipped it at home. Again, nothing will probably be as cheap as Mi Tierra, but I need to remember that and move on. Los Faroles is located within the bus station in Springfield. You may be surprised but downtown Springfield has a number of good options when it comes to Mexican food including Memo's, Erica's and Las Morenas. Los Faroles is yet another reasonably priced, fast and tasty option for Mexican. The bean burrito runs laps around the sad excuse of conglomerated over fried beans and un-melted cheese I had from Riva's a month back.

Fine for what it is... a cheap, quick taqueria. The super burritos have a flavor reminiscent of Taco Bell, but the ingredients seemed fresh. The service was quick.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
