In my opinion for a greasy spoon they do a great job! It definitely changed (owners I think and menu for sure) in the last.. I think year or less, and for the better for sure! If you haven't tried it since the change, stop in for breakfast or a huge burger.

I have delayed this review and returned on 3 separate occassions hoping to find a redeeming thing to write but sadly no. I want to like this neighborhood place. The decor is hap hazard the nails and scraps from the prior establishment still hang from the walls and ceiling- barely masked by the paint slapped upon them. The booths are old and uncomfortable and the menu is nothing to comment upon. Those were the positives.... The service staff was friendly but unprofessional. I had an iced tea that tasted rather strange and I when I commented to the server she said, "I thought it might, it was the very bottom of the container - we've sold a lot of iced tea today." That was it and she walked away. At one visit we waited 40 minutes for our food (a dinner salad and a breakfast plate). There was only one other couple in the entire place. We tried to get someones attention but it was as if they all went home for the day. When she finally came with our food she said that she told the cook that our order was in but he was talking to the owner for a long time. She then said that this happens a lot. The food is nothing special and clearly purchased pre prepared and inconsistently heated up. This place has changed hands on multiple occasions and has great potential but we have no plans to return until new ownership. Praiseworthy: Location is great for a neighborhood eatery. Areas in need of Improvement: food and service.

Great Breakfast! I always get the eggs Benedict and its always awesome. I am a vegetarian and they are always happy to make substitutions for me. Plus the coffee is pretty good too. I have never had lunch there so I can't vouch for them there.

I was in town and remembered seeing an add for this family restaurant and decided to check it out forbreakfast. Needless to say if it wasnt pouring rain out i would have turned around the minute i saw the dusty pictures, bad paint, dirty vents etc. But mom always told me dont judge the book by its cover. Well this time she was wrong. Eggs too runny. B/G tasted funny and hard biscuits. Bacon was fine. Overall not a pleasant experience. Waitress named gerry was very polite was the only positive.

Came here for breakfast when we had to go the hospital. Food was excellent and the waitress we had was very nice and professional. I ordered french toast and I have to admit, it was the best french toast I've had in my life. Food is a bit pricey(Mostly everything is $10+), but the portion sizes are pretty big so I understand why it's so expensive. The only problem with this place is that it needs a MAJOR facelift.

I'll be the lone 4-star review and say I actually really like the Heritage. Yes, the decor is dusty and awful. Like going to grandma's, only worse. Yes, lunch is a disaster, don't order the burger, and the fries taste really, really weird. But breakfast...amazing. The only place in town that can make a non-greasy omelet. French toast that is out of this world, truly. If you can handle being the only person in the place who is under the age of 60, then go around 9-10 am and order french toast.

Fantastic service. Food is okay, but not amazing for the amount you get in relationship with the price.

The service is great, the restaurant clean, the food ordinary.

Four star dining this is not. The decor is a bit odd and outdated, but we like to call it our "divey" place. The food is pretty good, the most exciting thing for our family being the onion rings and pie. Depending on the server, the service can be anywhere from great to unprofessional and irritating. Last time I was in, out server was so hard to get ahold of I had to get up to ask for the rang my mother had asked for and our refills, along with some napkins. She made three separate trips - first the napkins which she announced with "here's the napkins," and threw them down on our table, then our tea (we never got straws) on a fly by, and THEN the ranch. But, the food was still decent, so I'm going to give it three stars since it's really just the service that can be kinda iffy in my experience. I have always really enjoyed the pies though!

Under new management and it shows. My family eats there often after church on Sunday and we all love the breakfast. Tonight we stopped in for dinner and it was wonderful. I had the Special which was Grilled Tilapia and will definitely choose that again. Friendly staff, new paint and much cleaner. Great job new owners!!

This place is outdated and needs a facelift. I had the omelets that had cream cheese inside and it was an interesting combination. It was not to bad but I could easily make something like this at home. The one thing I did however like was the fact I got hash browns along with it! Prices are a little high for what you get.

Update 8-4-2013: I have been informed that this establishment is under new management as of early 2012. They have asked me to take down this review. I don't believe in doing that but in all fairness I will gladly say to only note reviews from early 2012 and up in making up your mind whether to eat here. I often find myself in Springfield and next time I plan to stop here and re-evaluate my opinion. ********************************************************************************** Family or Yelp? Who do you trust? So there I was; stuck between a rock and a hard place. My nephew wanted to take my Mom and myself to this Heritage Family Restaurant, but the Yelp reviews were consistent, all bad. Family or Yelp? I chose Family. I chose poorly. When we walked in the place had a real charm to it, a small gift shop nook to the right and a semi full restaurant to the left. It was a little warm in there but it seems lots of places are cutting back on comfort in order to save on utility bills... eerrr, I mean save energy and the planet. Menus hit the table and I started to open it up when I noticed my arms were sticking to the table. Now it wasn't a disgusting food sticking problem, when some places have cheap Formica covered tables and they clean them with bleach it makes it sticky. Still... yuck. The menu was diner usual; simple and predictable. Breakfast served all day and the usual burgers, home cooked meals and sides. I ordered a Hawaiian Burger, potato salad and iced tea. The tea arrived quickly, but I wish it hadn't, it tasted like prune juice, the sure sign of an improperly cleaned container or old tea. I asked, politely, for a diet soda instead. While waiting for our food we got to be serenaded by a drunk or deranged person a booth or so behind us. The wait staff kept asking him to quiet down. It was nice to get a floorshow with lunch. My burger arrived and I was actually impressed with my first view of my hamburger as it was perched on a handmade looking bun. It was not your typical perfectly generated clone bun; it had character and an interesting look. That was unfortunately the last thing I would be impressed with. My burger patty was significantly smaller than the bun, it was sitting in an ocean of mayo, with a slice of something that resembled cheese plus ham and a pale pineapple slice that had neither sweetness or tartness or color. The potato salad was, runny, if I am forced to find an adjective for it. Other meals were equally as unimpressive. Now at this point I untended to let my Nephew and his Wife tell you more about The Heritage Family Restaurant, but they have food poisoning and cannot get out of the bathroom. I was able to notice the problem early and skate by with some Imodium pills before things got too out of hand. Somehow my Mom and the two kids avoided illness. Avoided... yes, I think that is the word I am searching for, I would avoid the Heritage Family Restaurant at all costs. Do not listen to family, do not pass go, do not collect $200, just run!!!

Terrible. After waiting well over 30 minutes for Eggs Benedict in a nearly empty restaurant, they were dreadfully undercooked and mostly inedible. $9.50 for terrible tasting Eggs? Ouch. ...and no Wi-Fi for customers. Really? No Wi-Fi in this day and age?

I'm a big fan of the Heritage. I couldn't care less about the decor... or that much of it is carry-over from whence it was known as the Ford Grill. I do however like to support local owners and small businesses--and this establishment meets both criteria. The fact that the owner is frequently the person who's filling my coffee cup and asking how my day is, means a lot to me. I should preface my review by saying that I've only ever had breakfasts here, no dinners or lunches. I generally eat here on weekends, before the church crowds swarm the restaurants. I drive from West Eugene to eat here. :) I've had a few skillet breakfasts, a few omelets, chicken fried steak, pancakes, and their biscuits and gravy. All the above have scored well with me. I'm kinda picky about my CFS and my B&G--and have had both here more than once. The skillet breakfasts are probably my favorite, here. I like the coffee here. I also have liked the service quite well (maybe this is because it's usually the owner). The food isn't what I'd call incredible... but it's never been less than pretty darned good, either. I always leave satisfied with my bill, the food, and the service. The best part, to me, is that I never have to wait for a table. The Heritage is a good place to grab breakfast. It feels very much like a little family run diner... because it is just that. There aren't a whole lot of bells & whistles, but the food (breakfasts) is right-on.

This place is ok I don't ever crave it I just end up here sometimes. Ok food not great not bad. Atmosphere is outdated but not offending. I would call this s diner that serves regular diner food without anything special to add. Staff is super friendly though. Food can.sometimes take awhile
