Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

I absolutely love this place; I'm sad I didn't find it sooner. I love the extensive menu and the fact that I can get gluten free pizza for my relatives as well. The Coburg Colossus is my absolute favorite, but I also enjoy coming in for a simple and fresh salad. Today was even more enjoyable because of the fact that even though the employee, Cody, was working alone while others were on a break, he was very attentive and took care of all of his customers. I enjoy an establishment that knows how to hire great workers! If you are ever in the mood for good pizza and great attitudes then definitely stop by. Thanks for the great service, Cody!

This place is amazing. Very good food and very good staff. Had a computer crash and forgot our order but made it right. I look forward to giving them my business for years to come.

This is our favorite pizza place. We were excited when they decided to open the Springfield location - much closer to home! Pizza and service is consistently good. Lots of yummy toppings, which they're always generous with! Our favorite is the Cool California Club - SO GOOD!!! They also have 3 kinds of crust - thick, thin, and stuffed (personal favorite). They also have awesome breadsticks and the cherry crisp pizza is to die for!!!

This place gets raves, and it is regularly selected as the best pizza joint in Eugene/Springfield in readers polls from local papers. DLW and I decided to check it out for Saturday lunch, and came away satisfied but not wowed. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the huge parking lot indicates its popularity. It's surprisingly big inside, 150 seats or so. The décor is clean and chain-y. Cartoon representations of Italians abound. They obviously cater to middle class families and groups. You order at the counter and serve yourself fountain drinks. We took a long time deciding from a gigantic menu, but since no one was waiting behind us, we didn't feel guilty. Servers were patient and helpful as we waded through ten pages of options. We had a medium smoked pepperoni pie on thin crust and garden salad. Salad was definitely large enough for two, nicely composed and fresh. Pizza was big enough that we took home a couple of slices. Toppings were generous, sauce was on the sweet side, and crust was properly cooked, not soggy in the middle as it sometimes is. Flavor and texture were good, but not the best either of us have experienced. Including drinks the tab was $37, not exactly a cheap lunch. Would we come back? Yes, but not if it meant a special trip. We have several options just as good closer to home.

Springfield sunrise is a nice treat if you are looking for breakfast pizza. The margherita pizza had some kind of rubbery cheese. Not delicious. The thin crust is more like an original crust, which I dig. Dining in was crazy on a Monday -- they have a buffet style thing then. Had to ask for breadsticks after being told they forgot all about them...and then never brought them. They were worth the wait. Fluffy and dusted (smothered) with Parmesan cheese. Yowza... that's some good eatin! The salads were pretty blah. Customer service by phone is a little gruff. I don't understand/like the third party delivery system... seems like it would just end up costing me more money. Too bad cuz I would order for delivery to the hospital on a regular basis. They do offer take and bake though.

Nothing fancy for this dude. The menu excited me with all the options and custom pies. I got a hawaiian with jalepenos. It was just an average pizza. The service was friendly. That is about it.

Mixed feelings... This was my first visit to Coburg Pizza (Feb 24), and I thought I'd try it out for at my friend's suggestion. I was craving pasta, and noticed that they have chicken penne alfredo on the menu, so that's what I ordered. That, and breadsticks with marinara, as well as a glass of their house chardonnay. I also ordered a slice of delicious looking cherry pizza to go so I could enjoy it at home. The wine was good, and a good deal at 5 bucks. My breadsticks came pretty quickly, but I refrained from tasting them until my entree arrived. Soon after my breadsticks came a young man brought me my cherry pizza slice, all warmed up and ready to eat. The problem? I asked for the dessert in a to go box. Not to mention that I hadn't even seen my dinner yet! I waited, and waited, and continued to wait for my entree. It finally arrived at my table...in an aluminum foil disposable pan on top of a plate. And it was overcooked so much that the noodles on the edges were stuck to the sides and the entire top of the dish had a crispy top layer. Having just finished a very long day of work, and having waited so long, I just ate it. The flavor was good. It would have been a great dish had it not been over baked. The reasons I'm neither posting a picture of the dish, nor giving fewer stars is threefold. First, I trust my friends, so next time I'll try the pizza. Second, their breadsticks are so good that they are delicious as leftovers warmed up in the microwave! Simply yummy! My third reason is because of the girl who took my order and made sure that I had a fresh slice of cherry pizza, complete with a container of icing, for me to warm up at home. She was very busy, but never made me feel like I was a bother. Wish I knew her name... I will go back to give them another chance.

Just became my new favorite pizza place, the pizza I had was excellent, plenty of toppings that tasted great, the crust was perfect.

Wow! What amazing pizza. Best and most unusual pizza but we could just eat it every night. The potato pizza is amazing. Cheese and bacon and sour cream oh my. The stuffed crust is exquisite. We've tried the margarita the meat lovers the potato and the dessert. It's all great.
(5)David R.
The outside looks very plain, but inside it is very elegant, cozy, and clean. Very quaint with fireplaces in each of the two dining areas. Great for a romantic date or a group of little league kids. The pizza was fabulous; lots of variety of toppings. The worker we talked to has been with the company for 3 years, so they must treat their employees well.
(5)L Y.
Loved the texture of the crust... Chewy and great flavor! All of pizza selections sounded fantastic. The lunch combo was great. Be sure to read the signage by the register though if you're wanting the best deal. Great service too!
(5)Cyndi L.
Cozy, good selection of local brews, excellent pizza with delicious toppings. So many choices it took us forever to order. Looking forward to going again
(4)Missy S.
I've enjoyed their pizza before, when it was provided for me, and thought it was delicious - but until tonight I had not had any experience with them face to face. I was charmed by the outgoing message system they have in place to direct you to the appropriate location and the young man who took my order was very kind and helpful when it came to helping me select a combination. The inside of the restaurant was clean and aesthetically pleasing, with large TVs, well spaced tables and roaring fireplaces. The staff was as energetic and pleasant in person as they were over the phone. My pizza was done in a timely fashion and was stupendous! The whole family loved it (the River City combo plus pineapple) and it is destined to be a new favorite at our house. Thanks to everyone at this establishment for helping our family put a perfect and tasty end to our New Years Day!

I'm not one for paying a lot for pizza, but this place was definitely worth the extra buck, food was delicious and atmosphere on point, def will be back again. Me and the lady got a small pizza/side of wings to split, which was more than enough to fill us proper. Two thumbs up to coburg pizza
(4)Cee D.
I'm fortunate enough to get free Coburg Pizza fairly regularly through my work. I've tried maybe 10 of the pizzas on their enormous menu, and have yet to be disappointed. The pizza quality, which in style might fairly be called "gourmet national chain style", is fine, and they heap toppings onto each pizza. It's pricey, but you certainly get your money's worth.
(4)Erick M.
I have been to this place several times. The pizza is a lil expensive but it tastes very good. The ambiance of the place is very nice. The interior is nice and open with a fire place located on the east side of the business. There are several televisions for sports games. The staff is very nice and always friendly. Definitely a great spot for groups or family lunches and dinners. Try it!
(4)Jane H.
The menu here is pretty large. It took us a good 20 minutes to decide what we wanted. However after we got our pizza we were not disappointed. It was delicious! BBQ sauce, chicken, onion rings and stuffed crust. What more could you ask for? We took a menu home so next time we can decide before we get there.
(5)Manda S.
This is my favorite place for pizza in Springfield. I love the veggie pizzas and have yet to be disappointed by these guys. They can be a tad spendy but they use premium ingredients so it's well worth it. A must try for pizza lovers.
(5)Jim J.
This place is amazing! The pizza, calzone, salad,... All exceptional! I managed to find room for the dessert pizza... Wow! If you want cheap pizza, don't come here, but if you want a great meal with a wide variety of selections... (57 different pizzas) this is the spot!
(5)Alicia T.
This is now my go to place for Pizza! Although the first time we went there it seemed as if the lady taking our order was having a bad day, everyone else was very kind! Plus, we had never been in before, so all of the options for the pizza was very daunting. But the second time I went, I got immaculate customer service! You can't penalize a company for someone having a bad day. As for the food, everything that I have gotten has been amazing! Our first trip we got two small pizzas, with the thick crust. One was the Bangkok Chicken pizza, and the other was some kind of combination pizza (I can't remember what it was called). Both of them were great! Then the next time we got the Spaghetti and Meatball pizza, which is exactly what you would imagine! We got the stuffed crust, and it was to die for! And then we got the route 66 pizza, and MAN was it good! That one we got on thin crust, and it was perfectly crispy! They also have a desert pizza, which we got, which was amazing as well. It was an apple crisp topping, and to die for. If you are tired of the boring pizza that every pizza place has to offer, you NEED to take a trip to coburg pizza company!

Great Pizza, nice fresh ingredients. Highly recommended.
(5)Geni R.
By far the best pizza in town. They have a great menu with lots of choices. We like the River City (kind of a meat lovers) with fresh basil! I also enjoy their fiesta (taco style) pizza. We only get the thin crust - regular was too doughy for our tastes. We just wish they delivered!
(4)Lauren H.
Delicious pizza, great service, a little spendy but they have great customer service. Also love that it's a sit down restaurant.
(5)Chrystal O.
The pizza was huge!! We heard many things about this place and decided to give it a try. I'm not a huge pizza fan so spending $30 on 1 pizza was hard for me. We had a great coupon to try a free dessert pizza, we opted for Cherry Crisp. We has a grande Coburg Colossus and the flavors of the meat were amazing, the slices were heaping with toppings, the Italian seasoning in the sauce was a bit overwhelming and the stuffed crust was the best part! The cherry crisp's crust was under cooked (doughy), but delicious. I would definitely recommend this place, as my boyfriend said its the best pizza he has had in Eugene.
(4)Dianne F.
We had delivery from here last night. Outstanding pizza!! Both my daughter and I have special diet restrictions so pizza (as much as we love it) is a hit and miss experience. This pizza did not disappoint! Everything was exactly as ordered and very delicious. The selection of pizzas was also nice, good to see that a place is not afraid to go beyond pepperoni. I will make this my go to place when pizza is what I crave.

My eleven year old LOVES the original in Coburg. So for takeout at Granny's place we tried this instead of Mezza Luna, our usual "go to" spot. I liked it - nice ambiance, family friendly, a few well chosen ales on tap. Mixed experience, overall pretty good. It took a while - they said thirty minutes on the phone, and it was at least that. A "caesar" was actually more like a garden salad, tomatoes etc, but perfectly tasty. The menu was totally confusing - LOTS of choice, both "new" and "classics", the couple in front of me took five minutes to order! We went with "kids' staples" - half plain cheese, half pepperoni, so the kitchen didn't have much chance to show their stuff. And it was good, solid pizza - thin crust, flavorful, a little overcooked/crispy (I like it like that, but didn't order it that way). So a solid three stars, maybe four as we get to know them. Nice addition to the Springfield dining scene.

We were visiting from out of town and gave this place a try. Some of the best pizza we've ever had! Flavorful thick crust, quality cheese. Kids loved it even our picky eater. Had the cherry dessert slice and it was awesome. The staff was very friendly and love the environment of the restaurant. Also, had a good beer selection on tap. We plan on going again before we leave town.
(5)Krista F.
The Menu is terrible to read, they have everything in small print at the counter or in printed menus. This is an area that needs great improvement and is probably the only reason they're getting 3 stars from me. We ordered the BLT pizza and it was really good. The crust was thin and crispy and the toppings were fresh. We will most likely go back again.
(3)Will P.
I was recently contacted by Terry D. His response was very nice and he seemed concerned about my satisfaction. It turns out that toppings may be split (i.e. veggie one side, pepperoni on the other) but the sauces are not "splittable", so I'm mostly pleased. While the explanation regarding the policy of splitting sauces was thorough and semi-self promoting I still do not buy the argument that the integrity of the pie would be compromised. However, Terry D., by his nature and action has earned a customer.

Love the great layout and decor of the place. The pizza I had was great, Plymouth Thanksgiving Pizza! Yum! Salad was great. Everything people in my group got was amazing looking and fresh. I love their wonderful creative pizza selection and they have alot more than just pizza!

I was a big fan of Pizza Schmizza because I like different and interesting pizzas. I'm not into the same old boring "let's see how many ways we can rearrange pepperoni" on a pizza. The problem is, Pizza Schmizza went out of business in Eugene back in 2009 and I was bummed. I had heard about the Coburg Pizza Company through word of mouth and much to my surprise, it was outstanding. I still hitup Schmizza when I'm in Portland, but head to head, this pizza is by far better and more creative. I like their location because it's very spacious and nice inside. The service I've gotten is outstanding because as soon as I've walked through the door, they've greeted me almost instantly. I noticed all their employees have a smile when talking to you, which clearly means they have to be trained or coached that way, because there's no way pizza making can really be that fun. It's not the cheap, fast food style (Domino's, Pizza Hut, Papa John's, etc) so don't expect that. It's in the range of the upscale Eugene places (Papa's Pizza, Pegasus Pizza, Track Town, Roaring Rapids, etc) where you're looking at a $20-$25 pizza pie. So obviously if paying that much is too expensive, you won't like this place either. But comparing Coburg to those places, they're on par or cheaper for price. They don't skimp on toppings, sauce or cheese. In my opinion, they are without question the best pizza place in Eugene. Period. My only complaint is that they don't deliever, but I guess I shouldn't be so lazy. I give them 5 stars whole heartedly. This place is the best kept secret in Eugene/Springfield. Definitely a place I'd tell visitors to eat if they're new to Eugene or here for just a few days.
(5)Cory S.
The food is really good, however, on a busy night before a holiday, they should think about having a manager on duty. The combination of high school and college kids behind the counter has turned my 30 minute wait into over an hour. They could use a little leadership.
(2)Des A.
I really enjoyed eating here. My pizza was yummy and the staff here was very nice (and extremely patient when working with a very difficult customer). I will definitely be going back here again!
(5)Doug M.
I live in Portland but travel down to Eugene once a month -- and have been to probably every pizza place in the Eugene area over the years. I stumbled across Coburg Pizza Company last year -- and it has moved into a second place tie on my favorite Eugene pizza places (Track Town being #1 and Pegasus tied for #2), It has a nice overall atmosphere -- and very friendly staff. But what REALLY sets this place apart is it's version of a Taco Pizza. Try it on the cracker thin crust -- I guarantee that if you enjoy Taco Pizza -- you will LOVE this version -- I will most certainly be back!!
(5)Joe B.
easily TOP 3 pizza in the Eugene/Springfield area. big menu, maybe too big. many kinds of pizza, maybe too many. Menu is a little much to digest, but once you figure out what you want, it's worth it. Toppings plentiful and tasty. The crust, cheese, and sauce were perfect. Salad quality excellent. good value for the money. service was OK.
(5)Zack B.
Sincere people, great pizza.

We dodged this place for a little bit based on the sub par reviews the other locations have received. I pass this place just about daily and my curiosity got to me and had to try it for myself. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! It was pretty good! Maybe it was what I ordered, maybe because my expectations were low. It was about one of the better pizzas I have had in Eugene area. We ordered the double pepperoni and the Pettine's Margherita. The toppings were tasty and the crust is one of the better ones we have had. Nice and crispy and looked natural....not that stuff they puncture holes in to keep the crust from bubbling. Decent flavor. The only thing was our Margherita came with cilantro instead of basil...not sure what happened there. So you might say I enjoyed the pizza, why the 3 stars??? 1. I like to choose my own toppings. I am a huge fan of fresh mushrooms and pepperoni. You cannot choose your own toppings...at least not according to the menu. the family and I stared at the huge menu on the wall and after about 10 minutes, we were confused....I prefer traditional pizzas. There is a place for "Gourmet" pizzas out there but it's not for me. Simple is better if the ingredients and preparation are of true quality. 2. It's crazy expensive!!! But really, my first reason is the main reason. I do not mind paying for quality and since I could not get what I wanted....It was expensive!!!! LOL! Would I go back....only if I am in the mood for one of their "Unique" Pizzas.

I'm not sure I understand the high ratings here.... Yesterday was our second visit to this place. This time, my impression was less favorable than last time, and last time, my impression was meh. I had a salad, it was fair, but the chicken in it was very obviously LOW quality - odd texture and flavor. It was also way oversalted. Somehow they also managed to make chipotle flavorless, other than salty and spicy. Chipotle hot wings were not spicy, which is okay with me, but they were also not very good. Again, the chicken was obviously of low quality. The ranch dipping sauce was just gross. My husband ordered a family size portion of penne Alfredo with chicken. Same weird, oddly flavored and textured "chicken." Again, oversalted, and otherwise, rather low on flavor. The noodles were cooked the appropriate amount, however, and the volume of food was certainly adequate (he ordered the "familiglia" portion, which was enough for six, or when he's eating, two). I can *definitely* do a better Alfredo in my own house - and I use good ingredients. I tried one slice of a vegetarian pizza. It was also just meh. My opinion - they should narrow down that menu and focus on delivering much better quality. What's the point of all those options if the food is gross? Another comment - my salad came out about 30 minutes before everyone else's food, which was awkward. The wings came out about 20 minutes after my salad, which was not the proper order. I ordered the salad as my entree. It should have been served the same time as everyone else's dishes. Our dinner of a large portion of mediocre pasta, my salad, the wings, and a medium pizza consumed by my teenager and her friend, no drinks cost $75.00. Seems kinda steep for what we got, especially in a pizza place. You can get better pizza than this in Eugene, and certainly better Italian food, salad, and wings. I am really, really wondering why we even bother to go out in Eugene. I've said this in reviews before - if I go out, part of my expectation is that I will have a *better* meal than I could make at home. Eugene's restaurants - other than a handful of the ethnic places - consistently disappoint that expectation. Coburg Pizza Company is no exception. I won't be going back voluntarily.
