I reeeeeeally wanted to post something positive here. But alas.... I cannot. It's been roughly 10 years since my last (and much better) experience with Centennial. But tonight a dear old friends memory crossed my mind, along with dinners here together, so I decided to come again. The good: -my server was a gem. Truly great. -you get to seat yourself -comfy bench seats The bad: -the food! --I ordered a petite sirloin, baked potato, Texas toast, and chili-- I'm not the most discerning person, at all. Hell! Taco Bell is gourmet in my world. But this meal was intended to be a treat for myself, after a hard week at work. I had higher hopes. My steak was quite tough and a shade tasteless. I slathered it with A1 and soldiered forth. Next up was the baked potato. It was (no joke) almost too tough to cut with a damned steak knife. I honestly almost launched it off my plate, due to the sawing motion it took to whittle it down into edible chunks. I thought sour cream would've served as a better cutting fluid... I was wrong. The chili was the best item in my meal, and I'm pretty sure a can of stag chunkéro would've bested what they offered me. The Texas toast was reasonable though, especially dipped in ranch. Perhaps this was an isolated incident? I may try again, sooner than 10 years. But maybe not. This really was a lackluster meal, by any standard of measure. My date said her chicken was great! But the salad (iceberg lettuce!?) was a complete joke. Hopefully I'm a minority view

I have gone to the Centennial several times over the course of the last year and every time it has been an epic fail in service. It's obvious from the turnover in staff that this place is a dump to work for. Last night was my last time. I called twice to see if they were serving Prime Rib. Twice I was told yes. Guess what? When I complained the manager pulled our drinks, said we were intoxicated and told us to leave (I had just come from work and was taking my 82 yr old dad out for dinner). Don't waste your time or money with this place...

We tried the steakhouse today for the first time really. We'd been here before but only for drinks, as it is some of our friend's favorite. We were taking my girlfriend's son out for a birthday lunch. Our friend who was already there called while we were en route and said "the chef leaves between 1 and 3pm". We said we will be there at 1:30, so she asked if the chef would hang for a while till we got there, and he did! We had 1 Spencer steak (rib eye) dinner, 1 sirloin and fried prawn dinner and 2 prime rib Philly style cheese steaks. I had the sirloin steak and prawns and it was fantastic! The steak was trimmed and cooked to perfection. Not 1 gram of fat or "reject bites". This was a sirloin, but I've had lots of Filet Mignon's that were not this good. I should say here that I am a foodie/cook and very particular (better than my last 3 trips to "Outback"). Prawns were large, perfectly Panko breaded and not overcooked. And for $17.95, killer deal. Served with fries or baked, salad or home made soup or chili and Texas toast. Plenty of food. I realized half way through that I had to just try to finish the steak and prawns and eat fries and Texas toast if I still had room. The fries and toast were mostly on the plate when we left. The son who got the rib eye polished it off in short order. My girlfriend did not finish the prime rib Philly, but she does not have much of an appetite early in the day, and said she forgot to ask for it extra lean, so it could have been trimmed a little better. The food is great and the drinks are cheap and generous. Service was very good. Great sports bar/ old steakhouse ambiance. I am a new big fan of this place, and I see why our friends like this place so much. Can't wait to go back.

RUN AWAY!! Service is non-existent. To wait an hour and not be helped is not unheard of. The cooks are usually grumpy and one has a tendency to actually go off on not just fellow employees, but customers as well. Owner does not take good care of employees. Saw a customer he asked how things were. Customer was explaining that they could not get service. Owner smiled said"Good to hear" and walked away!!!! Craziness all around.

I'm a regular customer at Centennial Steakhouse. Our team plays on a dart league on Tuesday nights, along with another team that is sponsored there. Ariel, and Cindy are the best. Both ladies provide excellent customer service. They have great food( a little pricey), just my opinion though. The place is very clean! They have an enclosed smoking area, clean restrooms, juke box, steel tip dart boards, pool tables, video poker machines, ATM machine, and plenty of tables if you choose to have a meal, or just visit with friends. The owner is great about sponsoring events for charities. Friday nights there is an open steel tip dart tournament. The buy in is $5.00, with $1.00 high out option. Everyone is welcome to play no matter what your skill level may be. Come out and join the fun with some awesome people.

I am from Las Vegas and I went there last night based on Yelp's rating. My lady said her steak was excellent. Both steaks were very tender. The soup of the day was slightly salty. The prices were very reasonable. I would not hesitate to make a return visit.

Like this place, a big bar masquerading as a big restaurant. Only been there once, with a large group of friends, one of whom knew the owner. St Paddy's day, so two or three of us had the corned beef and cabbage which (surprisingly) was pretty good. T-Bone steak was REALLY good, 22 oz or something, I'd order it next time and split it, much better value than the other "steakhouse" (read: expensive) choices. And all the classic bar sandwiches, this place tries to be all things to all people. Three stars feels a little mean, but I can't quite get to four. It's a good Springfield place.

My fiance and I had read mixed reviews on the centennial steak house, so we decided to give it a shot and called. We started out by telling them we were writing a review based only on the quality of the food. The chicken fried steak was horrible along with the gravy. My Texas t bone steak was cooked how I wanted it in the middle but completely burnt on the outside. The prawns were super good though, as well as the chicken strips, and tender wings, but the onion rings were soggy and gross. So I would have to say that given that they knew ahead of time that we were writing a review and this is the best they could come up with, I would have to say not to waste your time or worth your money.

went for supper. I got a burger with mushrooms and onions. The burger was tiny compared to the bun and to all the vegs they put on there. Too messy to eat by hand. The burgrer was tasteless and just fell apart like it had never been formed right. The potato salad had too many pickles in it and it was nothing special.lMy companion had the malibu teriyaki chicken and said she liked it.. Don't think I'll go backj there for prime rib tho.

Per recommendation, I treated my prime rib loving friend to a birthday dinner here. He's a very experienced red meat eater and declared Centennial's prime rib as one of the best he's ever devoured. We topped off the meal by sharing a very generous portion of their famous Mile High dessert which was delicious. Fabulous food & service in a friendly atmosphere. First time experience and we'll definitely be back!

Great tender, juicy steak. Prices are very reasonable. When you walk into this place, it has a very divebar, local hangout vibe. It is dark and dated, but the food and the service was very good. The fries are crispy, the salads fresh, the variety is good for healthy to pub food. They prepare all the meat fresh in the back, and it shows. They use good ingredients and they don't skimp on the portions. They only have one dessert, which is ok, because you probably won't make it. If you do, it is mudpie. I don't know if it is good, because I was pleasantly full from my ribeye, which was properly marbled, but not all grissle and fat. The sandwiches are great, and the chicken wrap is very nice. It is deceptively big, though it looks small on the outside, the inside is spacious with comfortable seating, and a few tvs for good sports viewing. I will go back!

This place was kind of confusing to me. It's like a cross between a bar and a steakhouse, but feels more like a bar to me. The food was good, we ordered onion rings as a starter and they were crispy and delicious. I had a salad, which came on an oval plate rather than in a bowl so it was a little weird to eat; the onions and whatnot were not tossed in with the salad so mixing it all on the plate was almost more trouble than it was worth. I ordered the huge t-bone, rare, and was not disappointed. We shared the leftovers for dinner the next day. It was average overall

If you are looking for decent food, spotty and confrontational service as well as food that never comes, then Centennial Steak House is the place to be! Thought it would be nice to walk down to this place to play a game of pool and have a drink. While there I decided I'd like a salad to go, yet after a half hour I still hadn't received the salad. Some how it has become a difficult task to throw together a salad to go but yet very easy to serve 2 salads and some fried food to folks dining in who ordered after me.... Not sure how that works. After asking for the check and being told the salad was almost done I noticed they charged $8.95 for the salad when the menu states it's $7.95. We were paying on card, when we brought this to the waitresses attention she handed my fiance a dollar back and asked if that was okay... Not sure when that became the right way to handle a ticket being paid by card. While waiting a bit longer I noticed tables being served their food that ordered after me, things from sliders to fried food to what do ya know salads. Ask the server again how much longer for the salad and when she comes backs tells me another 5 minutes or so. At this point I cancelled the SALAD and asked how others can be served before me when ordering after and her response is to call the manager or owner. Are you kidding me? No, she definitely was not kidding. So, as I mentioned above if you would like decent food you will never get with spotty service this here is your place! Just ordered from Prime Time across the parking lot and it was ready in 20 minutes. I even ordered more from there, Loaded potato skins, finger steak salad and their triple play sandwich. All I've had before and are amazing so do yourself a favor, SKIP Centennial and go on over to PRIME TIME! Better food, amazing service and you actually receive your order.
