I would give it zero stars if I could. They brought out brown guacamole and when we sent it bak they just said they had a bad batch - why would you even serve that?! The ground beef tasted like it was all filler... Avoid at all costs!

Yes! Ok so it isn't the classiest joint but that is the charm people! It is like a Denny's with guns on the wall and much better food. Don't be afraid to stop in this place is great for breakfast and always a blast.

I was passing through Sisters OR on my way back from Mount Bachelor. Saw this little Diner amongst many other Novelty Shops so I decided to give it a try. First off, I don't necessarily fall under The Gallery's primary Target Market so some of the things I might be critiquing might seem a little off to y'all regulars but this review is simply for people like me... (......People that enjoy eating good food...) The service was pretty bad, the hostess or waitress just stared at me when I walked in the door with my buddies and literally after 10 seconds of the most awkwardly placed staring contest... (which I won btw) her only reply was "Yes?" lol.... Yea either way moving onward... We finally get seated and the dining room temperature is at 62 degrees... Temperature was asked to be raised a smidge and my waitress replied "ah hun, you just should've wore a bigger jacket..." hmmm... Yea.. I've had better service at a White Supremacist Shari's in Idaho wearing an Pro-Obama T-Shirt.... So I finally ordered some food (Denver Omelets) and the Food was literally mediocre at best... I've had better tasting omelets... Don't get me wrong... I ate majority of my plate so it didn't taste horrible or anything... But I just don't see how a place like this would even get "Regulars".... So if you're like me and was simply just passing through... I'd go ahead and pass on through on this one...

Rolled into the Gallery on a dry & dusty Sunday morning in late May. Sat at the counter in the restaurant with a couple 'a dudes who were born in '26 and '19 respectfully. That's 1926 & 1919. Two egg breakfast with hashbrowns & a biscuit- nothing to write home about, but the eggs were cooked well. The biscuit was on the small side, and the hashbrowns couldn't decide if they were over-cooked or under-done. My coffee tasted like burnt dryer sheets steeped in clay & laid out in the sun for 4 weeks, then put in hot water form. The absolute best part about this place is their collection of antique rifles that adorn the walls.

If you like over priced deep fried greasy foods than this place is for you. There is nothing good to say about this place. After an hour of waiting, we paid $21 bucks for four small cubes of halibut fish and chips and some fries. BTW. This place was infested with flies when we were there - absolutely disgusting!!!

Not so sure what everyone was complaining about, my experience here has been really wonderful. Of course, it's a little more...'country', I suppose, then most people are used to, but I think it's part of its charm. Having vacationed here for countless years, I finally decided to stop in. I ordered the turkey burger and fries, both of which tasted fresh and delicious. The wait staff were very friendly and helpful - my waitress, Shelley, was an older woman who explained to me what was what and what was in something, when I didn't know. The prices are reasonable for what you order, so for $10 i won't complain. It maybe an older place but it'll be worth the occasional stop by

Hands down the WORST service we have ever had! We took a road trip to Sisters just for something to do...unfortunately we got there when a lot of stuff had already closed for the day. So, we walked in to the Gallery and sat in the bar area. Looked like a few locals were hanging out. The server lady came to our table and plopped 2 menus down on a filthy table. We only sat there because there were only two of us and we didn't want to take up a larger table. I said "do you think we could get a rag for the table, please?" We said "yeah, I didn't know she hadn't wiped it down yet." Okay, it was FILTHY! Anyway, this lady seriously acted like we were the most inconvenient thing she has had to deal with in her entire life! So, we each ordered a beer and my BF asked if they just had a side of tater tots...she looked at him as if he was speaking another language. After awhile she brought out a flat plate of about 20 tater tots! We usually share a side of these at most restaurants but not here. The server brought the bill...did not say a single word....the sample plate of tots was $4! We had to laugh! Obviously the beer was good, it was bottled...the tots were overcooked but consumable....but, based on the service alone, I would NEVER go back! Another couple came in (out of towners) and were looking like they were a bit skeptical about the place. We told them not to bother and they thanked us and left.

No. Just no. Service was decent, but that was about it. I got the corned beef hash, it came out looking like vomit on a plate. Mushy, hardly any flavor, nasty texture. Only ate one tiny bite because it was so gross. Hash browns were ok, very bland, just about standard diner food, but I would take Denny's or Shari's over this any day. Toast was good, but come on, it's just toast. My husband was very unhappy with his Bloody Mary. I don't drink them but he said it was the worst drink he's ever had, even he wouldn't eat the corned beef and he will eat almost anything. Coffee was terrible, tasted like burnt mud water. Not really sure why we went in here, would definitely recommend any other place in town over this one.

My girlfriend and I were heading over the to go to the valley to get fresh produce from family and friends..Stopped for breakfast and neither one of us are what you would call picky eaters but the food was bluntly putting it crap..I had biscuts and gravy and my friend had pancakes.. The gravy straight out of a can biscuts definately not Grandmas. the pancakes box mix but stale in flavor.. the coffee brown water. the service need some help.. the server made us feel as though we were interupting her day. I've been here before for lunch maybe that is what they do better. One would think a tourist town better service and food would be a top priority.

We woke up early on our vacation and decided to hit the town for breakfast. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of options in Sisters for breakfast. Still, we chose the Gallery. We were seated promptly, with the hostess getting us our drinks. The waitress was prompt and took our order immediately. I opted for the chicken fried steak with eggs, a homemade biscuit, and grits. She Who Must Be Adored, as my girlfriend has dubbed herself, went with two pancakes, bacon and eggs. The food was spectacular. The country fried steak was actual beef steak, battered and pan fried, not a deep fried frozen patty. The grits were flavourful, with plenty of butter on the side. And while I expected to cover the biscuit with excess gravy, or at least the honey provided with it, they were so soft, sweet, and delicious that I didn't do anything to them outside of a light smear of butter. My girlfriends hotcakes were amazingly good. The bacon she received was all pork, no fat on the strips at all, and was so incredibly flavourful that it made me jealous I didn't have any. The decor of this establishment is all right-wing gun-loving hunter style, which I'm good with. I felt very comfortable here. And the food was wonderful. All of it. We would definitely eat here again for breakfast. This was a jewel in the Sisters crown.

Giving this two stars because the fries were good, but how hard is it to make a good fry? Overpriced for what it is, the chicken tenders tasted like reheated frozen rubber that even my toddler wouldn't finish, and the portions left us feeling hungry when we left.

I am a local and have eaten here quite a bit and it's usually pretty good...tonight...AWFUL. The meatloaf was hard and dry. The gravy was disgusting and the "mashed" potatoes were dry and lumpy. The green beans were cold. The bread stick was ok. But hey, I got a free ice cream Sunday. I won't come back.

Service was fast and super friendly, Jackie is a great at customer service and making sure we were taken care of! We had the breakfast plate of biscuits and gravy and they were great! As well as the hot turkey! Their Home style gravy is defiantly unique but oh so Delish!

Stopped in for breakfast while passing through. Walked in when they opened... Tried their cinnamon roll, wow! Fantastic. Ordered pancakes and eggs and everything was great. The thing that makes this place so special is the neighborhood. Being from Los Angeles, it's not often I get to stop in a place way off the beaten path. The Gallery came recommended by some friends, so I went in to it with expectations high. They were more than met. The food was declicious and fresh.

My husband and I had just checked in at the Best Western late afternoon and needed a quick dinner after a long drive. I had the deluxe burger and fries and husband had the chili burger. We both enjoyed our meals. My fries were extra crispy just like I requested. Very friendly staff. Think we'll try for breakfast in the morning before we leave. It's a very relaxed atmosphere. Most of the people there were locals. Will be back again.

I had the Monte Cristo. It was tasty. My friend had the halibut fish & chips. They were meaty pieces, not a bit greasy. We had to eat in the bar so it was a bit noisy. I believe they were not busy enough to mess up the front dining area.

I have been here several times over the years. An adequate place for breakfast. Reviewing today solely because of the tab. My order: two eggs basted, hash browns, rye toast. $8.25. Coffee $2.25. Milk (lg) $3. Stroke the Travelers when you are the only joint in town. I wonder if they have a different scale for the locals. How else would they afford to eat at the Gallery? Service was pleasant. Cowboy kitsch. Sisters, Oregon.

This is a faithful, trustworthy, consistently good restaurant that we know we can always go to when passing through Sisters. I typically order the fish and chips...which are excellent! My daughter ordered the meat loaf sandwich and loved it. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak and said it was excellent. We ordered 2 pieces of pie...YUM!!! We just really like this place. Good service and a restroom for customers!

A fun little breakfast place in Sisters. The servings are ginormous, my co-diners were a little shocked at the copious amounts of gravy that slathered their biscuits and hashbrowns. The omelet I had included veggies that were raw, not how I prefer but often how they are served in many a breakfast establishment. Our server was super nice and attentive, a nice older lady who kept the coffee coming.

Stopped in for lunch. Though it was a busy summer Sunday afternoon, there is no excuse for the "service" we received. We were seated at approximately 12:50. We received our food at 1:40 or so. While we were waiting, other people came, ate and left. When we asked our not-friendly waitress what the hold up was, she said: "they're cooking, they're cooking, they're cooking..." and walked away. I complained to the manager who said our food is coming right out and she would comp our drinks! That was 2 sodas. Cost about $.50??? Anyway, the waitress became ruder. When the manager came by again, she tried to explain it away by claiming the bar was full. I explained to her that it was the server, not being busy, as others came and left before we were served. She walked away as we were complaining. We left the waitress $.15 tip. I wanted to leave without paying the bill, but of course we didn't. Won't be eating there again.

Tough to only give them 3 stars, but it's just not what it used to be. I feel for them that it's expensive to get goods up to Sisters, but the prices are really difficult to swallow. My iced tea and chicken fried steak were fine, but including tip I was out the door at $19. That's just too much for the experience. I know I'll keep coming, but the relationship is becoming unhealthy...

Have totally stopped going to this local restaurant due to their mediocre prepared/presented meals and the manager's poor treatment of their staff. It is no surprise that they had to reduce their hours and our involved with formal complaints from former employees.

I do not recommend nor would I ever eat here. For starters, it's dirty. The food is your typical "greasy diner" style. No flavor at all. Sisters needs to step up and get some decent places to eat!! It's pretty pathetic.

Nice place too eat if you like to people watch. Really cool decor inside. Ordered a club sandwich. The club came with 5 pounds of mayonaise, but other then that it was good. The beer was cold so at least that was going in there favor. I have eatin here a few times and everytime i wonder why i didnt go to the snowcap instead. I will say they have an amazing pie selection and they taste awsome.

Our waitress, Jackie, was awesome! She recommended a breakfast special with biscuits and gravy and bacon and eggs. The bacon was thick and cooked just right. The biscuits and gravy were some of the best I've had. She offered a sample of the gravy before we committed the order. Hubby's not a bacon fan and she offered the choice of sausage or ham at no extra charge. This will be our breakfast stop in Sisters from now on!

Here's all you need to know. Oregon's smoking ban indoors went into effect January of 2009. The inside STILL smells like stale cigarettes and so does my clothing now. Seriously? It didn't occur to anyone to clean the carpets or anything else for 4 years? Makes me wonder what else doesn't get cleaned. Even for a dive bar, this was pretty bad.

This is truly some of the most inedible food I've had since I was a kid. The picture over our table of moose fleeing a wildfire should have been warning that's how we would feel after eating this food. Vegetables were overcooked frozen peas or corn. The mashed potatoes weren't mashed (a hard chunk remained) and were smothered in some sort of brown "sauce" with unidentifiable little chunks. Even the apple pie was overcooked and made me gag. If you want to enjoy some of the "local color," stop for a drink in the lounge but don't stay unless you can't walk out the door.

This is a classic diner-style restaurant that has booths and serves standards in their special way. Really, it's not spectacular, but it's a safe bet. I was very happy with my Cobb Salad, for one, the eggs were cut into eighths which I like a lot better than halves. My partner had the Gardenburger which was cooked all the way through and didn't taste like freezer burn. Service was very good. What else do you want?

I was afraid of what I was going to get in a kitchy tourist town for food....sometimes the food and service can be terrible because they know they have a captive audience. My fears were unfounded here. Good food (chicken Cesear Salad and a Burger for my hubby), very friendly chatty service. Could tell that the locals eat here, our waitress asked a fellow diner about her visit to Ireland. If the locals eat here, I think you're safe. It was what I expected from a diner in a tourist town.

A classic "casual dining" style restaurant right in the heart of quaint downtown Sisters, The Gallery is my usual stopping spot if I'm in need of a bite on my way to or from Bend. I've been going there for years, and it's always been solid. When I was a kid I was all about the chili burger. Today I had a nice bay shrimp cocktail, an excellent halibut fish and chips basket, and a huge, awesome slice of banana cream pie (I was so full I could barely move). The waitstaff is the kind who seems like they've worked there for twenty years because they love it, with ready smiles and a pleasant demeanor. The Gallery is absolutely the safest bet for a good meal in Sisters.

The decor and the food are perfectly paired. Try the Swiss Burger, which is served on a hoagie and comes with aus jus. I had mine with hash browns instead of fries. Oh so delicious. Also: Taco salad is delish!

There's just something about the Gallery Restaurant that said "small town" ... maybe it was the almost too-pleasant waitress who never stopped smiling and said "thank you" or "okay" at the end of every sentence. Maybe it was the menu and decor that obviously hadn't hardly changed since the place opened for business some 30-odd years ago. Maybe it was the people ... obviously either locals having the "usual" or tourists eager to immerse themselves in just a moment of small-town life. Regardless of the odd atmosphere, the service was adequate and the food satisfying though unremarkable. All in all, this place was perfectly decent if a bit average and somewhat forgettable. Perhaps I should have ordered their reportedly famous fish and chips instead, and maybe then I wouldn't have been so indifferent.

Great Fan of the waitress that served us as she saved us money by telling us to split a dinner order of their fish and chips. Food was good too.
