I have discovered a few things since moving near Portland: (1) There is no shortage of Thai and Italian restaurants, (2) There are at least 2 dentists on every block, and (3) I really miss U-turns. OK, the dentist comment doesn't relate at all, but seriously, my daughter and I have decided there is one dentist per resident up here! And the U-turn thing may not relate completely to this review, but when you can only turn out of the parking lot one way and it's the WRONG way for getting home with your take-out order and you are starving, it begins to matter... Sawatdee clearly does a bustling business in Sherwood, and the locals seem to know the owner, George, who comes across as really nice, though he never chatted with us and we sat there for nearly an hour waiting for our food. I'm not ranking them lower for the extremely long wait, though they should have given a hint of how long it would be when we ordered. The ranking is purely for the food though, which I was underwhelmed by. We threw out our fresh salad rolls (called spring rolls at other places). The rolls and the peanut sauce were really bad. The Tom Yum soup and crispy balls, which are not balls by the way, were also unappealing (except I did like the crispy rice). I have a sour aftertaste that keeps coming back to haunt me, so my lasting memory is not a great one. Tiny interior. Hard chairs and benches. Harried workers. I felt bad that George was stressed, but he should have been...They needed to get food out of the kitchen faster on a Friday night. Despite cutting them a break on the wait, the food was only worth 2 stars in my book, though I will grant that my daughter loved her tofu pad thai. That's her signature thai dish. I find it too sweet. I totally appreciate that it's a mom and pop shop though, and I hope they continue to do well. Others seem quite pleased. If given the chance, I'd probably find the dishes that would leave me happy here. Unfortunately, our first experience turned me off enough that I probably will continue to search for other places.

SOOOO good! I tend to stick with Pad Se Ew whenever I go to a Thai place, but I've had a couple other noodle dishes, as well as curry at Sawatdee and they are all delish!
(4)Josh R.
My wife and I ate here just last night for the sake of mixing up our Thai options. There is a really great place on our block in Newberg called Golden Leaf, which is great. I gotta say that though the staff was friendly and helpful, they were not overly so, and the small dining room free of booths and elbow space was a bit less comfortable than the soft padded booths and privacy we get at our local place. Finally, and most importantly, the food. It was fine. I should say, it was good, as Thai food typically always is, but it was not worth the 15 minute drive from Newberg. I would go here again, if I lived down the block, but seeing as I have a better restaurant with better food right near home, they will not likely be seeing me again. If you live right near it, its a solid choice for a pretty good price.

I love this place. It tops my last favorite Thai food spot that was in Vancouver, WA (Thai Little Home). I haven't had anything on the menu that I didn't like. Their specials are excellent and feature fresh ingredients. Their food is super duper fresh with tons of color and crunch and the service is friendly as heck. Don't underestimate this place just because it is in a little strip mall! I've had some of the best Thai food to be had here.
(5)Tony M.
Ground beef Pad Basil, awesomeness on a plate. (Wo)Man may not live by bread alone but you could definitely live on Sawatdee's Pad Basil alone...maybe with a little bread or brown rice.
(5)April Y.
Tasty Thai! Good lunch deals under $10. I got their spicy (Evil Noodles) curry noodles and loved it. Good portion sizes to fill you up, I even took some home. I love Thai so this is a new favorite spot for me.
(5)erin b.
I can't claim expert Thai taster... but it is really good here for what I've sampled across portland East to West. They have an amazing mango curry entree... had that tonight and the Pad Kee Mao (sp? aka Drunken Noodle) both excellent and I like that there recipes are not super greased out like some similar dishes at other places. The place is small and tucked away by the Safeway in Sherwood, but despite being small inside it's nice and I get take out most of the time anyhow. side note: Not open on Sundays.

Wow. We have lived in the area for about a year and a half and never knew this place was here. I wanted Thai food, so as usual, went to my friends on Yelp for help. Again, you did not let me down. The food is fresh, portions are appropriate (we have eaten there twice and haven't taken any food home with us) and the flavors are excellent. The owner is a very friendly man and seems like the type of person that never forgets a name. This place has the potential to be huge, but thankfully I think he's going to keep it small and quality. Thank you for two excellent meals. We will be back often!

If you are looking for good food and friendly service in Sherwood, Sawatdee is a safe bet. This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend who lives in the area, otherwise we may never have found our way to the strip mall that houses a fantastic kitchen and nice people. This is a small restaurant with less than 30 sears, so expect to wait during peak hours. We arrived a little after 7pm on a Tuesday evening and were seated right away. We began our meal with the fresh salad rolls and Som Tum. I have to say that Som Tum is the standard by which I evaluate all Thai restaurants. I am obsessed with the Green Papaya Salad. The fresher the better! The Som Tum salad at Sawatdee is one of the best in town, crunchy, spicy and refreshing all at the same time. Next was a steaming bowl of the best Tom Yum Gai we have ever tasted. The spicy, lemon grassy broth was amazing. Finally, we splurged (calorie-wise) on the Panang Curry, another delicious dish. Overall, we had a great experience. The owner, George, came to our table several times to be sure we were enjoying our meal. The service was excellent. Our only disappointment was hearing that Sawatdee was going to be closed for a month while the owners visit Thailand.

Had a quick lunch here with my Mom today. Their lunch menu was really great. There were tons of options and the entrees were only $7 for chicken/pork/beef. The tea I ordered, Coconut Oolong, was so fragrant and yummy. Then they served us a soup before our mains, free! It was just a simple chicken broth with rice and green onions at the bottom. But it was really good. I ordered the Prad Garlic with Black Pepper and Chicken. First off the plating was above what I expected for only seven bucks. It was very attractive with molded rice on one side of the plate and the entree on the other. The portion was good too, but not the insane over-serving some restaurants do. It was really well-seasoned and tasty too. My mom said they do an amazing pineapple rice for dinner. All in all, a great lunch that wasn't expensive. I think we will be doing some dinner one night with my mom or sister.
(4)Timothy S.
Great yellow curry. Small dining so best if you take out
(5)Matt D.
We have eaten here a dozen or so times - it's my favorite Thai food in the greater metro area over places such as Thai Basil, Thai Angel and Typhoon. The owner, George, is a really nice guy and will be quick to call you by name. Things to try: Pineapple or sausage fried rice, pad Thai, any of the specials and my favorite the Tom Ka Gai soup.
(4)Brittany G.
This has become our favorite place to eat Thai in the area. We always drove past this place and one day stopped in. Their food is fresh and the owner is such a friendly man who makes it his mission to talk with everyone and get to know you. Our favority meal is the Gang Phaeh (not sure if I spelled that right) with chicken!
(5)Scott J.
My favorite Thai restaurant in the Portland Area! I have been eating here since they opened 3 1/2 years ago. My kids love the Chicken Noodle- not too spicy but great flavor with the wide noodles. When I feel a cold coming on I always make sure I get some Tom Yum Gai soup- I am not sure what it has in it but I always feel better after having it! For special treat make sure you try their Panang Curry. Clean restaurant, friendly staff but since the restaurant is small they do fill up quickly at times.
(5)Drew J.
Three words: Phe-nom-enal! Best Thai food in all of Portland metro area. Owner is great and kid friendly! Not the most serene setting but the food more than makes up for it!!
(5)Josh S.
You wont find better Thai food in the metro area. We have been here a ton of times and will keep coming back. The food is incredibly fresh, full of amazing flavors and we have never ordered anything that we didnt love. The specials always seem to be unique seasonal options that make choosing what to eat even more challenging. The restaurant is quaint and the staff couldnt be nicer, starting with George who owns the restaurant with his wife. We live in Portland and it is closer than it might seem and the 10-15 drive is absolutely worth it for a delicious dinner. Take my word for it, you wont be dissapointed!

It was the night of the unexpected snow and ice storm that turned I-5 into a hockey rink on 12/29. I spent a little over three hours getting from my office near the 405 Interchange to Sherwood. I was craving Pad Kee Mao and my favorite Thai restaurant (Thai Village in Wilsonville) was another stint in the car, which I didn't want to take or risk. I saw Sawatdee's review on Yelp when I moved to Sherwood in November, and was looking for good, non-chain restaurants in the burbs here. I called Google 411, placed my order, and stopped at the place after my icy journey. Now, the place is not large (as mentioned by other reviewers), so if you're there for a sit-down meal, be warned. Despite the inclement weather, this place was packed - which could've been the result of two things: people didn't want to risk venturing onto the roads, or the food is simply very good. For this night, probably both. However, after sampling my Pad Kee Mao, I would say the food is definitely tops. I must first note the owner was very kind; I was about 20 minutes late picking-up my dinner (because of the weather) and instead of brushing off my comment, he smiled warmly, asked if I was OK, and then told me to have a great New Year. Despite me being late to pick-up the food, it was still hot and the noodles weren't squishy or overcooked. Flavor emanated throughout my apartment as I opened this sweet little delicacy in its plastic takeout container. Some chefs add tomatoes to their Pad Kee Mao; Sawatdee is one of those places. I normally would not prefer the tomatoes, but, in this case, it was fantastic - they weren't too mushy or crisp - they were perfect. Noodles were big and flavor packed a wallop. I ordered it medium-spicy; it was a little hotter than expected, but I usually order it medium the first time (to form a base) because every place is different. All in all, this place is definitely worth going to. When you have great food with great service, there is no reason to not go to Sawatdee.
(4)Sung L.
Tried Sawatdee for the first time this weekend. We ordered the Pad See Ewe and the Mussaman Curry and both were tasty. We aren't in Sherwood very often but the next time we are, we'll probably be eating at Sawatdee!
(4)Tami R.
Good Thai food at a casual small setting.
(3)Marybel M.
Fresh delicious food.
(5)Megan N.
This place blew my socks off. I've never had Thai food so flavorful and good. It's such a cute little place, and the waitress works her butt off. You can never completely finish your drinking glass without her filling it up for you. I ordered the dumplings and wonton soup; by far the best ever. I recommend this for any other Thai lovers. Everything on the menu has a distinct flavor, and will never disappoint.
(5)Anthony V.
Sawatdee over delivers for what you would expect from a small strip mall store front. The food tastes like it is all made from scratch and it is always very fresh. The staff is friendly. The service inside can be a little slow so we ussually opt for take out. This is always a safe bet when we need something for dinner and the fridge is empty. Highly recommended!
(4)brian o.
I eat at this place as often as my wife will let me eat out, and then just a few more times here and there. I typically get their green curry extra spicy which is a staple for me wherever I go. Their green curry is absolutely fantastic and I'm a little ashamed to say I haven't ventured out into trying anything else there yet. I crave it constantly. My wife loves their pineapple fried rice and pad thai and switches back and forth between the two. A while ago we also tried the mango sticky rice for dessert and that is top notch. Since then I've tried it at other restaurants around and nobody makes it nearly as good as Sawatdee does. It's a must try.
(5)Carla B.
Not very good. Pad Thai was overcooked, peanut satay came out and the chicken was still cold. I don't recommend eating here.
(2)Ryan O.
Sherwood's hidden gem. Haven't found Thai this good anywhere in the City. Pad Spicy Eggplant. Get it, then send me a thank you card.
(4)Tiffany P.
Ok, I must admit that my husband and I had never had Thai food till we moved to Oregon. Back East where we are from, there is Chinese Food, no Thai, well maybe now....we haven't been home in 3 years:( Once we moved to Portland, we discovered THai Orchid which was awesome and our go-to Thai restaurant even after we moved to Sherwood, that is until Sawatdee opened. Wow, Thai food 1 mile from home, amazing and so is the food. Great healthy, food that is reasonably priced. I usually look at the monthly specials which are different and great, but my old stand by is the Pad Garlic Black Pepper. It is steamed broccoli with your choice of meat, I get chicken, loaded with black pepper and garlic, of course, and in a light broth type sauce. Also, please get the "Fresh Salad Rolls"!! Not deep fried, and they are cold, but stuffed with lettuce, carrots, tofu, etc and are extremely yummy! We tend to get take out. They are always busy and have very loyal customers, if you call for take out, esp on the weekend, be prepared to wait 45-55 minutes at times to pick up your food, but well worth it! Finally, a great take out food place outside of Portland!! Enjoy!!
(5)Shannon N.
Very good. It's been yrs since I had eaten Thai & I was very pleased. Yummy! I'd eat there again, there are so many dishes to choose from..
(4)Arielle A.
Excellent Thai food! It's a reasonable price and very fast. We have never been disappointed eating here. So far I've just had the massaman curry and Lanas noodles, but both have been delicious.
(5)Melinda B.
Very tasty Pad Kee Mao, needed a little bit more spice though. My daughter had the curry which she loved. Overall very nice it appears that they do a very steady stream of takeout. Probably because the restaurant is so tiny. Service was fairly subpar. Took a while for anyone to come over and then additional place settings were plopped down, then water. During the three visits he initially made, he didn't speak a word. Just dropped things off and immediately took off. Never asked if we wanted something more than water. Overall the food is good, however I think I'm just going to order to go from now on.
(4)Beth V.
My better half loves Thai, so we took a chance and tried this local restaurant. We went online to check their menu, and ordered the food over the phone to go. Their website works well, and was easy to navigate. Lots of pictures, which is helpful. I also like that it is broken down by type of food. Super helpful! The food was hot and ready at the time they promised it. Dear Lord almighty... SO GOOD!!! We had the Salad Rolls and Musman with Chicken. I think I might bathe in the Musman sauce. I recommend visiting Sawatadee.
(4)Patrick B.
A wonderful variety of flavors. The service was very very fast. Like some kind of magic kitchen, we had the nicest feast of a lunch!
(5)Ed P.
I have passed this area many times, stopped at a nearby Safeway often, but didn't really look about to see what businesses or restaurants were here. Today, we had the time to relax and explore a bit. My wife noticed Sawatdee and commented, "That looks like a good idea!", so we stopped in for lunch. One reason I hadn't noticed this restaurant is because it's small and unpretentious, tucked in with other storefronts. This was our first visit but, I can assure you, we intend to stop in much more frequently. Our dishes were delicious! I enjoyed the lemongrass chicken with peanut sauce and my wife ordered a ginger chicken. We shared each other's choices, as we often do. I'm delighted to add another local favorite to a growing list of restaurants, and I recommend this one.
(4)Sheri H.
Pad Thai was ok but not bad could have been better flavored. Chicken cashew was delicous. Small place friendly service. Worth the try. Reasonably priced and good portions.
(3)Donna M.
I had some of the best chicken pad thai a few weeks ago--so, I thought I would return to savor more of what my taste buds were craving. Ugh, I was so disappointed today. The flavor was blah-although, the texture, presentation and medium spicy was right on target. I can shrug off a periodic blah meal when I know there is capabilities to do better. However, what I cannot shake off is the extra visitors in the kitchen. During my visit were two young males, maybe aged 12 to 15 that came in--short time later yet another adult male arrived. Obviously, these people were either family and/or friends of those working. The adult male made his way to the kitchen and helped himself to a 'to go' box which was later filled with food and he walked out of the kitchen. The two younger males joined the adult male in the back room. All three were in the back room for just a short time before they gradually made it to the kitchen where they visited for a few minutes before leaving. Really?? Three extra people in the kitchen around noon while those working were trying to prepare meals for others?? And, I'm not so certain any of the three washed up before going to the kitchen area. I probably won't return...
(2)Alekkz H.
First time here and woo! The chicken pad see ew was so good! Except one thing... I always order 3 stars at any thai restaurant and this one... Tasted like... 7 stars. If that is even possible. The noodles were perfect, the chicken was chicken-y and yep, the spice I'm probably going to have to kick it down a knotch. The service was sub par... I just stood at the counter till they noticed me and I ordered a take-out. The restaurant itself is quite small and wouldn't mind coming back to try the other dishes!
(5)Liza S.
Tried the crab fried rice this time, and wow. It is light and tasty, not overly seasoned. The peas were fresh, and had that just-shelled crispness that only a fresh pea can have. They added a wonderful balance to the crab and rice. Hands down the best crab fried rice I've ever tasted. Had the coconut prawns again, and they were just as amazing as the first time!
(5)Kim P.
Our favorite! All the food is amazing. Yum crispy ball appetizer is unique and a must order! Small and family run! A must try!
(5)Lisa C.
Great Thai for the burbs. High quality ingredients and good service get me every time! /we came for my mother's birthday and they were very gracious and accomodating. I can't wait to try them again soon!
(4)Trevor M.
We have been eating here since it first opened in Sherwood. The owner (George) is always really nice and talkative. We tend to order lunch from here more than anything and the food never seems to disappoint us. Our 3 staple dishes are: Pad Kee Mao - good spice, noodles almost always cooked perfectly. Pad Se-Ewe - non spicy dish with saucy wide rice noodles and plenty of broccoli. This has become a favorite of our younger kids (both under 4). Basil Fried Rice - very similar to Pad Kee Mao but with rice. The best part is, we really like spicy foods and asking for extra spiciness never seems to fail us. We tend to order ahead and take-out so I can't speak to a dine-in experience. But for a prompt lunch full of flavor and maybe a quick and entertaining conversation, I would recommend making a visit.
(5)Nikee W.
This place is a bit hidden in a strip mall, and we never would have stumbled upon it if not for my favorite sushi place being closed, leaving me and my lunch date hungry and in search of something good to eat in Sherwood. I never would have thought that this little strip mall Thai place would bring me the best pad se ew I've had in a long time, or such a satisfying yellow curry. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but once inside it's cute and cozy. The wait staff was attentive, our food was delivered nice and hot and in a prompt manner. I really can't wait to go back! My mouth is watering just thinking of all the yummy stuff they had on the menu.
(5)Eileen L.
Amazing! Not only are they fast but the food is SO good! The Pad Thai is some of the best I have hadi will be back!
(4)Andy B.
My wife and I had a great lunch here. I enjoyed a deliciously fresh and flavorful Pad Thai and my wife had the roasted BBQ chicken. The chicken was a little too charred in places, but it was acceptably good and the sticky rice accompaniment went great with the sweet & sour sauce. The waitstaff (maybe the owners?) were very friendly. However, they brought out my food a good 5-10 min before my wife got hers. They accept credit cards, but only Visa and MasterCard.
(4)Kari C.
Overall impression: food, service, friendliness of staff, food presentation, portion, price, and ambiance are all average. Food is decent but a little on the sweet side than most. Be prepared to bomb your diet if you are on low/no sugar. My friend and I went during lunch and the place wasn't full but we're the only table that wasn't served soup with the meal. No biggie but not attentive. On the positive side, our food came out within reasonable time. This place is tucked away behind back of the 'mall', so it can be hard to find. Parking is pretty easy though as it's not a busy strip part of the shopping center. I'm glad to have tried a new Thai restaurant in this area. Is it good enough to feed hungry family? Yes. Will it be on my top list for recommendation? Probably not. so my search continues to expand my 'list'!
(3)Riley P.
Love this place! Love love love! While some of their dishes could be spicier, the taste is amazing. And the people that run the place are super friendly and we always get great, quick service. Even when they're slammed. Our favs: "Lana's Favorite," Panang Curry, Pad Ginger, Pineapple Fried Rice, Pad Thai, Pad Basil and the Tom Yum Gai soup. All amazing. The only thing we've tried and didn't like, was their Pad Sweet and Sour. We always look forward to going here when the craving for good Thai comes our way.
(5)Erica W.
This is one of our favorite take-out places in town! The food is always full of flavor and really fresh. Any dish that we've ordered has been really good. I wish they didn't close between 3pm and 5pm, because sometimes we want to eat in between that time and find ourselves waiting until its open again, but that is just a small complaint.
(4)Chelsea M.
Yay! I'm a fan. If this place was in Portland, it probably would be three stars, but for Sherwood, it's pretty darn good. We have ordered take out twice from this restaurant. SERVICE: Friendly and efficient. They always have our food ready right when they say it's going to be ready. FOOD: One thing this place does really well is physical temperature of the food. It is hot but the food does not taste overcooked or as if it had been nuked in a microwave. It tastes like it was taken right out of the hot pan. Flavors are good, it's Thai food and we don't really do noodles so it's hard for me to say. Fried rice and Stir Fry, our two staples, are great. Veggies taste like veggies and the sauces they use are really light but add just the right amount of salt. I also feel that it is worth mentioning that I do not get what I like to call PF Chang syndrome from this place. You know, the bloated, overstuffed, water logged, stomach ache feeling. None of that from this place! Just good ingredients cooked properly. I've also had the gyoza here and it was delicious, that special sauce they put on the side is killer! A less positive note: I wish their veggies in their stir fry were smaller, they are a little unwieldy. Notes: I would say this place would be GREAT if you are on the road and need something to go. Hot food, reasonably priced, that won't stink up your car.
(4)Kanhnha S.
Hands down this restaurant is surprisingly good! I like how small the place is and its near by I'll be back again!! :))
(5)Adam N.
Very small restaurant with tiny tables. They cram way too many people in there to the point that it's uncomfortable to dine. The portions are very small in comparison to other local Thai restaurants. Service is ok. Food is pretty good. Nothing special. If your going to try this place I recommend you order to go.
(3)Paul M.
This is simply the best Thai food I have had. I have been all over the country and never found anything better. The food is clean, and loaded with fresh veggies and quality meats. Pad kee Meo is the dish to me that stands out the most above all other Thai places. The take out is also very good and ready fast.
(5)Rebecca W.
Went to this hidden gem on February 3rd and ordered the chicken pad Thai lunch special, only one word can describe my experience. Delicious! This cute restaurant is a cute little place that also serves you a small perfectly portioned cup of soup before your main entry AND at a great price! Before I left I was sure to ask for a to go menu because I knew I'd be wanting some more soon!
(5)Jessica L.
This is my favorite restaurant in Sherwood! They have excellent Thai food, I usually go for their lunch specials
(5)Mike G.
We love their Pad Thai with chicken. My wife and I order from here all the time and I recommend this place to anyone who like easy and cheap Thai food.
(5)Amanda M.
Walked in to try, having zero expectations being new to the area, however, we ordered "to-go" and were very pleased. Everything we ordered was delish. Looking forward to a return visit.
(4)Kristina J.
We found our dishes, pad thi, won ton noodle soup, peanut chicken and pineapple fried rice to be VERY salty. Not sure if they have different cooks but all our dishes on a Sunday night were, again, to salty. The more we ate the not so great it was. Nice atmosphere and very kind people.
(3)Katie B.
I would give this place five stars if it weren't for the incredibly rude waitress who works during lunch hours. She literally stops in the middle of the restaurant and rolls her eyes at customers. If I weren't a regular there I wouldn't leave her a penny for a tip. We've been coming to this delicious restaurant for a long time. Since she has started working there it has made us not want to give our business to this place. It's so important to have good customer service in the food industry. Find a different occupation RUDE GIRL!
(1)Leslie M.
Yum Yum Yum!!!! Discovered when I worked nearby. Very friendly staff, and VERY good food! What else ya need?!
(4)Todd L.
I Love Love Love this place. Quick service, delicious food, and you can eat here three times in a week and still be excited. Almost always is busy with a line sometimes on the weekend. Not a large inside so RSVP of you have a group :)
(5)Cecile C.
Exceptional flavor and quality - and gracious service in spite of my 5 year old promptly tossing a thai tea crashing to the ground.
(5)Amber G.
We've ate at Sawatdee in Sherwood several times over the years and it's always been great! Most recently we ate their with the Sherwood Cash Mob and they did a wonderful job as usual, while in a busy environment. The staff is always friendly, food is amazing, their service is prompt and pricing is fair. Large, delicious portions and each experience has been consistent. It's a great place to enjoy a nice meal for lunch or dinner! Take out service and gift certificates also sold here. Amber Gardner facebook.com/cashmobsher…

Typically there are two places in Sherwood I want to eat at: Taste Teriyaki and this place. It's handy that they're almost next door to each other. Parking in this Safeway-dominated strip mall is usually an adventure, but once you get past that step the restaurant itself is great. (It's hard for me not to like a Thai place though, so take that however you will.) I've had several items from the menu and have yet to be disappointed. Definitely one of my top two options anytime I'm in Sherwood.
(4)Evelyn S.
It was time to catch up with a friend who lives in Sherwood over lunch before an appointment over in Old Town. She suggested the Thai place, not because she loves it, more for convenience. Let me just say, there is no reason for me to return. It's a small clean place with a nice server, and $7 for most lunch items. I ordered their version of Drunken Noodles with Chicken. My friend ordered Salad Rolls $4. We were both served a small bowl of soup that tasted and smelled of salt. Thank you for the thoughtful soup idea, but no thanks. Her two salad rolls looked anemic, skinny and almost plastic. My dish was Bo-Ring! The serving was on the small side, plenty of lunch, but over priced for what you end up getting served. Diners at other tables obviously felt quite differently as they were regulars and seemed to enjoy their Pad Thai and Yellow Chicken Curry.
(2)Alissa C.
Great food!!! Perfect hotness on the red curry when I asked for them to make it hot. My kids liked the pad kee mao but said it was a bit spicier than they normally prefer. We'll order take out from now on because it is small inside and our kids are not necessarily quiet. We don't like to run the risk of annoying other patrons. We will be back for sure! The food, service and cleanliness were great! Another perk to living in Sherwood!
(4)Sara B.
I feel the need to be blunt...BORING The pad thai was a lump of noodles with sauce, no flavor at all. The curry was a mug of liquid with scattered pieces of fish. I guess I missed what everyone else thinks is "oh -so-awesome."
(2)Andrew W.
Waa waa waa! Total letdown. Was a bad day for the kitchen or anyone who hit this place with 5 stars hasn't had good Thai food. Pad Thai was flavorless and the Green Curry with seafood combo had A shrimp, A mini scallop, A mussel, and a couple pieces of squid. Coconut was undetectable. Just a little bowl of hot liquid. We always pick these two dishes (or Panang) as we feel if you can't make either of these two staples we won't be seeing you again.

Sawatdee is our go-to place for those nights when we just don't feel like cooking....which happens more often then I want to admit! I will usually order their Pad Thai or Chicken Noodles. My husband often gets their Mussaman curry. Their food is consistently delicious and service wonderful. Sherwood has a limited selection of good, non-chain restaurants. We are so glad to have Sawatdee in our neighborhood.

This place located in a strip mall in Sherwood isnt bad at all. The restaurant is about the size of a shoe box but from what I am told these people crank out some food here. My friend ordered up some curry and a peanut/veggie dish. Both were great especially for take out. I would absolutely eat there again. Probably not dine-in since I do not want to be cramped.

This is a solid Thai place in the way-out that is Sherwood. It was the first Thai place we tried after moving to the Portland area, so we went back for a second try and loved it just as much. Sawatdee means "hello" and "good bye" in Thai, making it the most-used word in the Thai language. The food is fresh and flavorful, if a bit on the mild side. I think if you want it spicier, you might have to specifically ask - they didn't ask us and while it was good, we like it a little hotter. The Pad See Ew and the Pad Kee Mao were both super tasty and had a even amount of egg, noodles, meat and veggies, and not too sweetly seasoned. Perfection! The Pad Kra Pao was terrific - and kinda spicy. Even the kiddo liked this one. The plate they serve it on is too flat though so it makes it hard to get all the sauce up with the food. Minor gripe, I know. We tried the Thai Sizzling Beef, which was pretty much beef teriyaki. It was good but not my favorite. The boy loved it, however. Service is friendly if a bit rushed. Food came out a different times, which isn't ideal, but they did get it all to us in a reasonable amount of time. The restaurant is fairly small, so there aren't a lot of seats. Nicely decorated, and once inside you forget you're in a strip mall. I will definitely be saying Sawatdee to this place again!

Very good food and reasonably prices. The curry was a little thicker/creamier than I would have preferred and the place is a little too small.
(4)Amy B.
How did I not know this place was here? We don't eat Thai food a lot, but when I crave it, I do like good Thai food. This place was good. I love Lad Na's Special. I have ordered that at other places and love that this one was cheaper than the other place I go and it was very good. We will be back when we have the hankering again.
(4)Megan L.
Consistently inconsistent pad thai. I never know which quality I'll be getting each time I order... sometimes it's perfect and sometimes it is so bland. I think that's typical for suburban thai food, but still somewhat disappointing for those of us with thai cravings miles from the city. I still take my chances though, because when it's good, it's gooooood.

Yay!

Hands down this restaurant is surprisingly good! I like how small the place is and its near by I'll be back again!! :))
(5)Paul M.
This is simply the best Thai food I have had. I have been all over the country and never found anything better. The food is clean, and loaded with fresh veggies and quality meats. Pad kee Meo is the dish to me that stands out the most above all other Thai places. The take out is also very good and ready fast.

(5)Adam N.
Very small restaurant with tiny tables. They cram way too many people in there to the point that it's uncomfortable to dine. The portions are very small in comparison to other local Thai restaurants. Service is ok. Food is pretty good. Nothing special. If your going to try this place I recommend you order to go.

Enjoy!!

Sherwood's hidden gem. Haven't found Thai this good anywhere in the City. Pad Spicy Eggplant. Get it, then send me a thank you card.
(4)Katie B.
(4)Jessica L.
(3)Kari C.
(3)Ed P.
A must try!
(4)Patrick B.
A wonderful variety of flavors. The service was very very fast. Like some kind of magic kitchen, we had the nicest feast of a lunch!
(5)Alekkz H.
(5)Mike K.
(4)April Y.

(4)Tony M.
Ground beef Pad Basil, awesomeness on a plate. (Wo)Man may not live by bread alone but you could definitely live on Sawatdee's Pad Basil alone...maybe with a little bread or brown rice.

(3)Emily S.

(5)Roxanne B.
(5)Anthony K.

(5)Cindy M.

(2)Robyn G.

Great yellow curry. Small dining so best if you take out

(4)Drew J.

Enjoy!!
(5)Riley P.
(5)Alekkz H.
(5)Kari C.
(3)Erica W.
(3)Beth V.
(4)Liza S.
A must try!
(5)Donna M.
(2)Megan L.
(3)Rebecca W.
(5)Chelsea M.
Yay!
(4)Jessica L.
(5)Mike K.
(3)Trevor M.
(4)Tony M.
(4)Cindy M.

(2)Robyn G.
(3)Roxanne B.
(5)Lisa T.

Great yellow curry. Small dining so best if you take out

Fresh delicious food.

Tried Sawatdee for the first time this weekend. We ordered the Pad See Ewe and the Mussaman Curry and both were tasty. We aren't in Sherwood very often but the next time we are, we'll probably be eating at Sawatdee!

Good Thai food at a casual small setting.

Three words: Phe-nom-enal! Best Thai food in all of Portland metro area. Owner is great and kid friendly! Not the most serene setting but the food more than makes up for it!!

Not very good. Pad Thai was overcooked, peanut satay came out and the chicken was still cold. I don't recommend eating here.
