Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

Yeah, I'm a fan. It's classic American Chinese food. You can quarrel with the concept but they execute it very well. Our go-to dishes there are the House Special Lo-Mein (Chow Mein). Not quite the right noodle but close enough. Shrimp, scallops, chicken and slivered BBQ pork with veggies and noodles. Really nicely done. Again, it's "AC." Our other go-to is the Shrimp Chow Don, listed under "Scrambled Eggs." I would love to see scrambled eggs listed more often in "city" Chinese restaurants. The egg is a beautiful thing and a good Chinese restaurant treats it with as much respect as a French one. These guys do a good scrambled egg. It won't beat my favorite at "Dinesty" in Richmond BC, but it's a very good egg. With shrimp, onion, water chestnut and beansprout. Either of these would be a great one-dish meal. For two people, a fine combination. Yes, you can pay less and get their own combos or the "Make your own" and that's fine, but if you thoughtfully select from the main menu you can build a pretty credible American Chinese food experience of a very fine order. By the way, this is Cantonese and proudly so. I'm not sure why "Cantonese" has gotten such a bad reputation in the last 20 years. Maybe it's just that there are a lot of bad American Chinese places and, historically, they have been mostly Cantonese. Good Cantonese is based on fresh, simple ingredients, thoughtfully prepared and minimally cooked. Seafood should guide you. It's lightly sauced (usually). We've kind of messed up our relationship with this cuisine. We've come to expect a certain style of cooking, the restaurants want to please us, and we get into a feedback-loop that produced stereotypical "Cantonese." So stray off the combinations and you'll probably be better served, especially in small towns that have to have limited menu options. My only other advice is, if there is squid on the menu, order it. Well, at least if you like squid. It's there because it's an essential seafood and a Chinese restaurant that has it on the menu knows that and is, therefore, a "cut above."

The good: Combo dinner options are very affordable and there are many things to chose from. They have bits of water chestnuts in the hot and sour soup that added a nice crunch to a very flavorful soup. (Perhaps it could have been a little more on the "hot" side, but I am known to like things a bit spicier than most) The almond chicken is surprisingly good. It is served with a gravy which is different for me. I hope that If we had ordered it to go they would pack it separately from the chicken. The fried shrimp were large, crispy and tasty. The sesame chicken was tasty but could have used a creative sauce on the side? (A light and tangy lemon sauce on the side would hook me as a regular customer) The place is clean, prices good, service quick, friendly and engaging. The average: Pork fried rice was ok, nothing spectacular. A sadly common experience of having Chinese mustard mixed in with the sweet and sour sauce for the shrimp. The bad: No hot/spicey options on the combos No vegetable options on the combo. It's certainly worth a return visit, but budget for the regular dishes and avoid the lure of the low priced combo meals. I would order the take out soups from here without hesitating, my guess is that one large would feed 3 average adults. If you're like me, ask for a little extra hot in the hot and sour.

My family and I all love this restaurant. The service is excellent. Never had a bad meal. And they are very accommodating with the babies. We live in Seaside and like to support out local businesses.

Not sure what happened. Been here multiple times during previous years, and it's been okay. This time we ordered the Mongolian beef, and got all sautéed onions and a pile of broccoli. No beef whatsoever, yet that's what was on the receipt that we had paid for. We also got a combo plate, and was very bland. Tried to buck up and just eat it but we ended up just throwing it away. I hate writing a not so good review on local places, but yuck.

Visit the cannon Beach during spring break of school. Find out this restaurant by chance. It serves real Cantonese food! I'm really surprised. It tastes even better than some restaurants in Chinatown. I wish it could be in my campus town.

Meh. Not much flavor wise, waiter didn't understand English and would accept the order I wanted (sesame chicken) and he asked if I wanted general tsao sauce. I said no, sesame. Then he started saying General tsao ok? Ok!? He was very enthusiastic about it. It was meh. I don't plan on returning

we had the broccoli beef and special choy mein. The broccoli beef is so far the best broccoli beef i had. no MSG!

It always makes me sad to update a review and downgrade an earlier rating. But my first responsibility is to those who rely on Yelp for good information. That said, I have to give Westlake one star for the meal the other night. Not to sound like a snob, but the water was tap with a pretty distinct taste and smell of chlorine. The hot and sour soup is accurately described by another reviewer... basically egg flour with hot sauce. But most disappointing were the noodle dishes which didn't come with noodles at all, but those crunchy things some people put in Chinese chicken salad. I agree, there must be a better place in Seaside for Chinese food.

Worst Chinese food ever. Had the general Tsao chicken it was horribly undelicious. Ordered sesame chicken but not sure what we received. Think it was supposed to be a sweet and sour chicken but I can't even describe how bad the chicken and sauce were. Dog wouldn't eat the chicken either.

delivery to my motel was fast (delivery girl had the same personality as the dead fish i had seen washed up on sunset beach earlier that day though. she was unhappy about something). portions were good. mongolian beef looked beautiful and was a good medium spicy. bbq pork appetizer was good. egg rolls were different but good. crab puffs were just ok they tasted more like butter than cream cheese. food was packed beautifully. theyre stingy on white rice so order extra.

Good food, quick service with a smile. Decent prices, there is a place in Astoria that is cheaper but not as close to home. They deliver, and I think they will become my go to for delivery. Very good crab puffs.

I don't know what happened. This month I had to break up with my one regular Mexican eatery, and now the spark is gone from this Chinese place. Service was still top notch and "Hong" our server is a great lad, but this last visit left a lot to be desired food-wise. My mate wanted Sweet Corn Soup and after quite a wait, she was told they were out of it, which made her wishes for a light meal a wee bit tougher, My usual combination plate was very bland and flavourless. The rice almost tasted stale if that makes sense. Everything had an odd oil aftertaste that even salt and soy sauce couldn't enhance. Pot-stickers were oily and not bursting in flavour at all. The dipping sauce was so spicy and void of flavour it was disgusting. I requested plum sauce, but only Hoisin was available. It wasn't much help sadly. I think this place, like so many of the other Chinese places on the Oregon Coast are just rolling in dough from their bar / booze business and not giving a damn about food quality any longer. Unassuming tourists will keep them going, especially because they deliver locally, but for us locals, we know better. The bar trolls will of course pour out their limited incomes in exchange for liver toxins and Lotto Dreams. If you want to be a bar...be a bar. Quit trying to be a Chinese restaurant if you can't maintain the basics.

So good! We got general tso's tofu and vegetable lo mein. Fried wontons are not on the menu but they will make them for you. The tofu was quick fried, crispy on the outside and very soft on the inside, served with a ton of different veggies. The lo mein was a welcome surprise - it was served like soup noodles, thick chewy noodles in broth with veggies that were very fresh, just blanched. You will definitely order too much food - the portions are large. A super nice, attentive waitress helped us when we visited. Service was quick. The manager came over to say hi. They seem to do a lot of take-out orders so there were plenty of tables. We'll be back!

The food is pretty darn good. But mostly, I'm writing this review for the sweet woman named Yvonne who delivered our food to our hotel so late at night, and I realized I only gave her a lousy $2 tip. Yvonne, thank you very much. Excellent customer service! By the way, the portions are huge, and delivery is quick.

My girlfriend and I stopped here a few weeks ago and loved it. I meant to write a good review then, but forgot about it. I actually live in Portland, so it was a spur of the moment thing to stop for lunch. Both of us enjoyed our meal a great deal, the service was quick and the food was delicious. What more can you ask for? The value was quite good as well.

Service was good and fast. Place was clean. Food quality and portion size was average for the price.

I have to admit, I was a little scared to come here. There was hardly anyone in the parking lot. There was only one booth that had signs of life to it and that was the restaurant owners/workers' kids. I also have a hard time finding decent chinese food since I always compare it the Chinese Cafe in Washougal, WA of all places. But I charged in here with a few friends because my dad of all people said they produced some pretty tasty food. There is a pretty extensive menu with your typical chinese selections. They of course also offer typical American fair as well as fish and chips (it is a beach town afterall). I was instantly drawn to the make your own combo meal. To choose three items (go for pork fried rice, pork chow mein, and sweet and sour chicken, you won't be disappointed) it only costs you something along the lines of $7.50. Their portions are huge for lunch so I took some back to the beach house only to forget it was in the fridge. Oh well, I enjoyed it while I had it! I think next time I'm in Seaside, I'll be dropping in for another combo!

Don't do it. There has to be a better place for Chinese food in Seaside. Hot tea is black- not touched. Hot and sour soup was egg flower soup with hot sauce. Cashew chicken not even close. The sesame chicken was bearable but the sauce that came with it ruined that for me too. Try Toras instead.

Baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and Chinese food? Maybe not the perfect meal for America's birthday, but damn did it hit the spot. After a long day of celebrating our country's birth, we made a quick trip up to the local Chinese food establishment. We ordered more food then required, and for $60 fed 5 with plenty of leftovers. It could have been the consumption of mass quantities of beers, the copious a green medicinal smokeage, a full day of walking on the beach and working up an appetite, but the food from this quaint, antiquated Chinese food restaurant was really good.

Great tofu! It's that good "bad" fried Chinese that we miss from the chicken days. We're from Portland and crave this place.

The worst Chinese food I ever ate! My friend and I ordered potstickers; they were so doughie and the filling very bland. The rice was overcooked as a mass of dough. This place might be considered good by the locals who don't know better but if you want tasty, flavorfull food, go elsewhere. The main course was very bland and without herbs and spices. The food didn't taste fresh. Yuk.
