How hard can it be to get a doughnut in Seaside on a Saturday night?? Pretty damn hard if you were me last night. Have seen Dundee's Donuts quite a few times in passing and always made a mental note to pop in and give them a try. Last night, we planned to grab a late supper and doughnuts for afters, so I called Dundee's Donuts to make sure that they will be open. The lad said that they served doughnuts until midnight. I asked him a second time to make sure tat it was the doughnut shop and NOT THE BAR next door that I was asking about. Yeppers, midnight it was. Cool...see ya after supper. After an awesome supper at Sam's down the street, we escaped the drunk crowds watching football (Go Ducks!! Go Beavers!! Whoo Hooo and all that crap!!) and made our way up to Dundee's Donuts. Time = 10:30 PM. No worries, as the lad said midnight. Door locked, mop bucket in front of it and a server counting out her drawer at a table. The interior entrance to the place via the bar is partially blocked off by chairs, but there are no barricades that can hold me back when I want a doughnut, damn it. Walk in the shop and am told with a snippy huff that "we're closed". I asked her why did the lad tell me midnight then? She looked confused (one of the many things she does well) and said, "Oh you want doughnuts?". Umm, yeah, because I figure a rocket ship and a massage would be too much to ask at this juncture. "Oh, I can get someone to sell you doughnuts I guess." Hmm, you guess...OK. In the very front of the case is a tray of day old offerings for 50cents a piece. No worries, I will just get some of those to have a decent sampling of their skills and a variety for the household. After witnessing the first lass, instruct the second (equally clueless) lass how to put all of the til on a paper lined paper plate holder in piles so "he can count it" and not hiding the fact of where the money is kept at night (former cop in me is cringing at this major security breach), she finally asks me if I am ready. She states that they take credit cards wit no minimum charge too. Nice touch in an area where card options are declining along with customer service and business ethics. There weren't too many doughnuts in the main case that looked appealing, as we wanted simple, so I told her which day old ones to box up. "Oh!!!! Those are tomorrow's day olds!!" I can't sell them for 50 cents" (even though they are on a tray marked day old - 50cents). At this point, I have had enough of this air head and told her to have a nice night. She then said, "Oh, I guess I can sell them to you." Wow, I am so glad that she is in this world or else there would be no generosity and grace. As I am picking out a few of them, asking what flavour the non-obvious ones were, when I picked the two buttermilk bars, she said "Oh, I can't sell those for 50 cents (even though they are on the one tray with the others marked 50 cents???)...those I will "have to go at least a dollar for those." Okaye...... I am glad that I have a sick and twisted disposition and realize that not all people in this world are the fastest horses in the race.....why they all choose to run on the Oregon Coast, escapes me, but that is another rant. Bottom line, after all of that hassle, the doughnuts were not that good, and actually a wee bit stale, making me think that they were in fact older than she eluded to, thinking I must be a dumb tourist or on par with her struggling IQ. Sooooooooo, what did we learn here today boys and girls?? Get doughnuts at Safeway....they are fresher, cheaper, and available until 1 AM, EVERYDAY. The hassle this twit made over a 3 dollar doughnut transaction just proves that businesses will employ help if they can at least walk upright without drooling too much. Based upon this employee, we will never try the rest of Dundees (bar & restaurant), so invest your 3 bucks wisely...

    Mediocre doughnut with mediocre latte.

I thought the maple bar was really good and reasonable at $1.50. Drip coffee was good too.

Donuts are pricey and I thought they were good, but nothing unforgettable, however I did get a donut toward the end of the day...it nay have been much better fresh in the morning.

Great donuts with some savory options as well!! I had a latte and brought back drip coffee to hotel, all was enjoyed. Great spot on Broadway!

Super great doughnuts! In Portland all the rave is Voodoo, but these are way better. It's kinda strange that it's attached to a bar... But it's a good use of space. they have a pretty good selection to choose from and the prices aren't too bad.

I've stopped here twice. They make a darn good Boston Cream donut! I've also tried the butterfinger, that was almost equally as good. Friendly staff, cheap donuts, & the line goes quickly!

What can you say about donuts? These were darn good. Heath bar and butterfinger bar for us, chocolate frosted with mini marshmallows for the toddler. We'll make this a regular stop whenever we come to Seaside.

My kids first Maple bar, and he loved it. I had an apple fritter. I loved it, it was dense with lots of apple and cinnamon. Not soggy from oil.

I like Dundee's, so I thought it wouldn't be a stretch that their donut shop next door would be pretty good. And it isn't a stretch at all. I had a pink frosted raised donut with sprinkles, which is my favorite kind ever for reasons I don't really even understand except it has to do with childhood nostalgia and yes the frosting has to be pink I swear it tastes different if it's not. Anyway. Good donut. I took home a glazed chocolate cake donut for later. Swoon.... So good. It had a nice crispiness on the edges, chocolately but not too dense or sweet. Yum. I also like that they had a bar that was half maple-frosted half chocolate-frosted because really, sometimes you can't decide. I didn't get that but I should have. Like I needed to buy 3 donuts. The coffee was not awesome though. It tasted really weak. Donuts need something a little more robust to stand up to them. Better coffee would have made this a 4-star, easily.

Spent a week in Seaside, OR not too long ago. Saw Dundee's Donuts one night during a walk and we decided that we would drop by in the morning to grab some fresh donuts. We arrived early, expecting pipping hot donuts, but unfortunately they were not! The donuts were cold and fairly dense. Their spice chai tea and black coffee was decent, but otherwise nothing out of the ordinary.

The service was horrible! No hello upon entering. There was a man at the counter speaking with another man making a purchase, the conversation continues after the transaction and they both walk away into the bar next door. Again no hello, no we will be with you in a minute. Just horrible service. I later find out that this was the owner!!?? WTF? Not only is he an idiot, but does not know how to run a doughnut shop, maybe he should go back to the east coast, and stick to running a sports bar. The coffee and doughnuts were crap. All of it CRAP!

We went into the Donut shop late morning the day after Easter. The place was packed. They have really good coffee, and lots of good flavors for espresso drinks (several sugar free options). The brunette barrista was sweet and helpful. My daughter loved her bismark.

Surly service and multiple gnats flying around the donut case. We've been here before and the service was only one time welcoming - the others all less than friendly. The latest visit featured a short dark haired woman in her 40s who grudgingly took our order, rolled her eyes at our question of how two donuts differed and slammed down the beverage onto the counter hard enough that it sloshed around. Everyone deserves to have a bad day but it seems to happen a lot around here. We are those locals that seek to support local biz in the off season, but today was bad enough that it's easy to decide that we are not coming back.

We Had breakfast and our son had a doughnut. The bloody Mary was perfect and my husband had 2 mimosas, so they must have been good. He had the eggs Benedict and ate the whole thing... we might go back tonight :)

The opening hour is 7 am so I felt I had a realistic expectation for fresh tasty donuts when I walked in at 8:10 am. Sadly I was mistaken. The donuts were not fresh (6 out of 6 people agreed, stale). Beyond being tough and dry, they had an off taste, my guess being that they were cooked in stale / rancid oil. I was sad - I had hoped that my wife's earlier and very pleasant experience from a few months earlier would be repeated.

Donuts are okay, taste like Safeway's donuts. Staff is whatever, not friendly & no personality. Lol

We stopped into Dundee's Donuts because we got into the Seaside market area earlier than expected. For the most part, they offer pretty standard donuts, the one that did call my attention was their Caramel Apple Fritter -- the standard apple fritter meets a splat of frosting on top. While the day I was there, they weren't offering Bacon Maple, I did see they had a few in their "Day Old" sections offered for a discount.

Services was great. The donuts were fresh and delicious. We were so pleased we went back for lunch.

The donuts were pretty good. It's not easy to get a good Bismarck in the Pacific Northwest. The coffee however wasn't that great. I got a dry cappuccino. They made the coffee with the right proportions, which is better than most chain coffee houses pull off (such as Starbucks). However, it was overly hot, and quite bitter. It makes me think the staff know what they are doing, but their machine is poorly tuned. Or they just have really crappy beans. tl;dr: donuts are good, coffee is crappy. But it's a donut shop, not a coffee shop, so what do you expect?

Horrible service! Horrible donuts! Honestly grocery store donuts are much better! First the lady whole took our order was rude! Second she got my sisters order wrong, not realizing it until after we got back to our hotel but 2 out of the 3 she never even ordered, then she was charged for 6 when she only got 3! Same with my mother. there was a sign by the cake donuts that said 6/3.75 and she was charged $7! I mean really...you do this everyday how hard is it to do your job! I work in retail so I know how crazy it can get but it's the job you choose...so do it! On top of the rude service, or lack of real service, the donuts were dry, greasy and tasteless!

There's a lot to like. Fluffy homemade donuts, cozy family-friendly booths with individual cable TVs, flavorful espresso, and excellent diner breakfast fare from the affiliated pub next door.

I love this place! The staff was very friendly and the donuts and espresso were very delicious! Great atmosphere with TV's everywhere. The full restaurant and bar attached makes this place an all day venue. They even have free WiFi ! I may just move in!

Dundee's Donuts was one of few places open on Monday morning when we stopped in. They had a good supply of yummy looking donuts. While we only sampled a few they tasted fresh, fluffy and just plain fantastic. I didn't order an espresso so I can't review the coffee. The atmosphere was fun - next door to the bar of the same name but a totally different environment. The kids enjoyed the tv at every table and I enjoyed the quick friendly service.
