I can never get enough of this place! They make the best pastries! I always get a cinnamon roll with the cream cheese frosting. It's so wonderful. They make chocolate eclairs that are so light and fluffy, enormous cookies, and the darlingest little cakes! If you want a sandwich, you can fill out this little card to say what you want on it and they'll make it for you. They also do coffee. They even put bacon on their doughnuts sometimes. If you're passing through, you definitely should check this place out. You would not regret it! There is a restaurant that is separate from the bakery, just keep that in mind if you decide to drop by.

Split a turkey sandwich with my wife. It was real turkey. Followed by a chocolate brownie cup cake, that was rich and gooey. My daughter had the red velvet cupcake and loved it. The service was very helpful.

we stopped in the little town of Sandy, OR on the mt hood hwy from Bend to Brookings and wanted a taste of local flavor rather than a chain. and we got exactly what we wanted. we went to the saloon, not the restaurant. this place epitomizes small town charm and home cookin'. first thing i did after a long drive was hit the head--and was surprised to find a really nice, clean, working, stocked bathroom. always nice. next thing was to get a drink. was stoked to find a fully stocked bar and a really nice selection of PNW microbrews. my girlfriend had a lemon-drop type drink i didnt expect in a small-town bar but made expertly. after ordering i was even more stoked to get really nice, friendly, chatty (but not overly so) service. typical diner fare but homade fresh and very very well. with lots of little treats and surprises. check out the pix for menu shots. i had the chicken strip supreme sandwich--came with bacon on a fresh sourdough roll. omg. it was perfect. crunchy and warm and perfect. homade bbq sauce is a nice touch. soup du jour was hungarian mushroom. we had planned to stop once more before bend but didn't need to..we didn't even get dinner once we were there we were still stuffed. if i ever find myself in Sandy, OR again, i will be back. oh yeah--the desserts looked killer: fifteen layer chocolate cake bigger than my leg.

I can't stop raving about this bakery! Everything they make is good, no great! In the mood for something sweet? They have an array of cookies, tarts, and rolls, all fresh and all under $5. My family swears by their pies for the holidays which are very reasonably prices for how large and delicious they are. Their cream cheese frosted cinnamon rolls are found in our house every Christmas morning as well. I also love that they give a $1 off discount on espresso (Mon - Fri only). If sweets are your thing they make a mean sandwich. Not only is it huge, you could definitely split it with someone, the meat is high quality (as in turkey, from a real turkey. None of this sliced stuff). If you find yourself in the little town of Sandy or driving through it I implore you to stop and treat yourself to one of their culinary delights! They also have a cute gift shop with vintagy things. I also want to point out the staff is exceptional, they are always willing to go the extra mile for special requests.

The best breakfasts 'ol school style. The food is great but the restaurant itself is an old timey landmark. The western style buildings give the place a homey atmosphere. It is nice to go to a "dressed down" place and have good food served to you by waitresses who call you hon. I order the single buttermilk pancake (why a single you ask?? the thing fills a dinner plate....I never finish it) All the breakfast items are wonderful. Less enamoured of the lunch offerings. Then, right next door, is a bakery that serves up the most beautiful pastries and cakes. It is such an unusual restaurant in the Portland area.

Love this bakery. Everything is wonderful.

The baked goods here are killer. The huge cinnamon rolls, muffins, and sticky buns are totally sharing size. They often run specials where you get a free small pastry or muffin with espresso drinks. I haven't had any baked goods that weren't awesome. My ONLY wish is that they had some kind of low-fat or reduced sugar treats so I don't feel so guilty after enjoying one. I also just found out that they have day-olds at markdown prices. Still super tasty! Get here early in the day for the best selection. Apparently the secret is out...

Order your favorite person their favorite treats here and be loved. I love it all, coffee included. Too much good stuff. Great place to order birthday or party cakes. Chocolate covered bacon doesn't help my weight loss goals at all. Wow!

My parents moved from Seattle, WA to Bend, OR last year. The Bakery at the Tollgate Inn is a stop we HAVE to make on every trip to and from home for a mid-drive pastry and coffee pick-me-up. My cousin raves about the cannoli (and rarely shares!) My mom and husband bonded over their mutual love for the mini German Chocolate Cakes. I order a different muffin every time. If you stop by in summer, enjoy one with seasonal fruit- like raspberries. The connected gift shop is very cute and kitschy. Whoever does the ordering for them is quite creative, their merchandise and displays are always changing with the season/holiday. The Tollgate Inn Bakery is a pleasure to patronize.

This bakery is wonderful. Great pastries and coffee. I order pies and rolls here for all my holiday dinners. Cinnamon rolls are huge and delicious. Cute place for lunch. Soup and sandwiches on homemade bread.

LOVE this little bakery! All the nostalgic candies and such are great to browse/purchase while you wait for your AWESOME Deli sandwich to be prepared. Also, their clam chowder on Fridays = AMAZING! We have been going here for years for their fresh breads, rolls, pies, cakes, pastries, canoles, etc! This place is great overall, the staff is amazing! Had a mishap with what I believe to be the owners at one point but they rectified it by offering us all coffees. Falsely accused my daughter and friends of shoplifting = bad!

Great place to eat. Family friendly with crayons in cute little buckets for the kids. Easy on/easy off 26. Steak, pasta, & grilled chicken salad were delicious. Hostess was super helpful as was our waitress!

My mom ordered my baby shower cake from Tollgate Bakery and it was SERIOUSLY AMAZING. The carrot cake was sooo unbelievably good. And she did a fantastic job on the decorations; it was adorable and exactly what we wanted (my mom showed her a picture from pinterest). And the price was really good - much less than what we were quoted by various bakeries in Portland and Gresham. We will be coming here for now on for any special occasion cakes!

Decided to stop on our way home and what a find!! Super cute little mercantile even if parking was a little tight. We had sandwiches from the bakery that were delicious and well priced. My favorite though was their coconut macaroon!

Hit and miss, I've had cake and pies that were yummy and last time I had cookies that were obviously messed up in the mixing process that had at least 3 times too much salt, salt in a cookie is to enhance the flavors, not be the first, middle and last thing you taste. Lots of cool knickknacks to look at, friendly staff anyways, all in all not bad and worth a try

The service was good. The pie on the other hand, was terrible. Thick flavorless supermarket dough with canned filling. Nothing about the mountain berry pie tasted homemade. Also got the german fritter, which was refrigerated and dense instead of fresh and fluffy. Won't be back.

Always like the snickerdoodle cookies. Good for taking on a hike or snowshoe trip. On hot days they have Italian soda that hit the spot. Good looking pies but haven't tried one. Don't forget a nice bathroom before hitting the mountain is always a plus.

Great deli sandwiches fresh bread real turkey meat nice stack and then a plethora of great bakery goodies to finish it off!

Chocolate. Covered. BACON. What more can possibly be said? This stuff is amazing. They sell out of it quickly, though. Also love the key lime tarts. But really....the bacon. Mmmm.

I love my turkey on ciabatta Monday through Thursday and the ham & cheddar croissant on Friday. The girls will know who posted this! Highly recommend.

Went in the other morning for breakfast and have to say it was one of the best I've ever had! The pancakes were awesome, hash browns were as good! I take my family in from time to time and have taken for granted how good of a job they do there. Nice staff, great food and homey environment. Thanks Tollgate!

I love this place. Not only do they have out of this world desserts, but all types of cool, candies from "back-in-day" and fun trinkets for you or gifts.
(3)Rick W.
Extraordinarily nice staff. A wide range of baked goods and some really kitschy gift items. Also a wide variety of candy from your childhood.
(4)Kodi D.
The restaurant is amazingly delicious! We had the Tollgate Special omelet and Biscuits and gravy. So yummy. Best biscuits I've EVER had! I will be going back and definitely recommend stopping in if your driving through!

This place totally surprised me and exceeded my expectations, after having breakfast next door we stopped in here for a few supplies. I am not usually a gift store shopper but I found a birthday present for my Dad and Mother in law. I did not try any baked goods but they looked awesome.

Stopping for lunch at the Toll Gate Inn Restaurant and Bakery has become our families tradition on our Sunriver Vacations each Summer. The portions are enormous at the restaurant...so be ready but also come prepared to buy a box of the amazing baked goods at the bakery just a few steps up the side walk. The muffins and cookies are SO fresh (and as big as my daughters head) that we were still eating the next day. Love this place.

I've been to the bakery numerous times and it's mostly good. The canoles, cake truffles and pumpkin bars are out of this world. If you want a specially made cake they make them very well. The coffee in the bakery is very tasty as well. Here's where there is room for improvement, sandwiches.. The sandwiches are big and satisfy your hunger but they do not even have avocado. What kind of sand which place doesn't have avocado? I tried the ciabatta bread today, not good, it was dry and overcooked. I placed my order and had to wait ten minutes before anyone even started on my sandwich because apparently helping the other people that were there, making their coffees and such was more important. There were two girls in front and I saw a man in the back so why the long wait? Also... This is a bakery and 2013, it's time to evolve and offer at least one gluten free bread option, it's not that hard guys and demand is high but I drive 20 minutes to Gresham to get my bread from another bakery instead. The bakery needs to brush up on their customer service skills for sure and add a few things to the menu.
