This place is horrible. Given it three tries and Everytime I went the food was nasty. And I tried three different things and every single one was gross. The service has improved, but that's probably because we were he only table in there for lunch. But overall, everything we ordered was bad. :/ would give a 0 if I could.

this was formerly by Hollywood Video (my favorite movie store) The Rock pizza was crunchy & was kinda not good enough... So we probably won't be coming back here maybe

Love this place. We always sit in the bar area. Chris always gives us fantastic service. He remembers our drinks! The food is delicious. My fav is the bad to the bone. Its a white sauce pizza with pepperoni, pepper bacon, and red onion. We tried the chips and queso and the brown sugar moz bread. Both were super yummy. The ambiance is amazing. They play great old rock music. We love this place!

Everyone that works here is super nice- they even allowed me to change a channel to watch a game other than the Ducks! Calamari was killer, dipping sauces are awesome and great beer on tap. The overall atmosphere is is welcoming and in the bar you almost feel like your outside on the patio.

Highly underrated pizza - among the best in Salem (my second favorite). And most people don't know: it's the best place in town to watch the game. No need to worry about 3 hour parking like downtown. We come here a couple times a month. Kristina in the bar is fantastic.

We have been here twice now, both times there were several aspects that we enjoyed. Atmosphere: the atmosphere was casual, the music was not too loud and the tables are space out decently. The windows (which make up most of the facilities "walls" allow ample light into the restaurant. Waiter(s): The first time we went into this business our waitress was pretty slow, so we ended up waiting a while, I sort of attributed it to the fact that there were only two waiters which appeared to be working; although they were not swamped with customers, that could have been a reason. The second time we had a different waitress, she was on top of things and quick, the owner? I am assuming brought out food out and asked us if we needed anything else, he also ended up checking to see if we needed anything two more times I believe and even offered to serve us our pizza, although we politely declined. Location: The location is actually a very good spot, walking distance from the mall, best buy, and target. It is close to bus lines as well, it is also right next to red robins, which is typically packed and you end up waiting to be seated for a significant period of time; so if you are on a lunch break this is a tasty alternative that will allow you to get back to work in a timely manner. Hours: This location opens up right before lunch for individuals who want to get an early start (1100) and they do not close until midnight for all of you that are hungry after going to the bar, or getting off of work. Food: The food was delicious the first time we had a 9 inch pie which was half White Christmas (for any cheese lovers out there), half Evil Ways (which was a good vegetarian option). The second time we had again the white christmas, and tried the stairway to heaven, hold the prosciutto, both again were good. Also the fries here are delicious they are crunchy, soft in the middle, and sprinkled with sea salt. I have yet to try the buckets advertised, however they look good so I will be doing so eventually and then updating my review as far as that goes. Price and Portions: The price for the pies was definitely fair for what you get and the quality of food. Portion sizes are good as well a side of fries were enough for the two adults and two children at our table, the pies were good sized we actually ended up taking quite a bit of left overs home. The pie crust is chewy, and provides a good base for the toppings; the toppings are not overwhelming you get a good variation, there is not too much of any one thing, so the balance is great. Good for: This place is kid friendly, both of my children enjoyed the miniature pizzas that were made for them, they also received coloring pages and crayons to entertain them while waiting for their food, a sort of design your own "skull" page. I would also recommend this place if you have large groups, there are areas to accommodate. I would recommend this place for any age group, in fact I have seen a variation here in those terms.

The food and the environment is amazing. The open roll doors and the rustic decor are nice. The biggest complaint is the service. It's horrible. I've been there several times and the food is great but the service is always slow and impossible to get attention. If you aren't hungry right away and dont, mind waiting for everything it's a great place. If you want food and service together....go elsewhere.

I'm giving this place a one star on purpose, when In all reality this place has a well deserved 5 star review. The food is really good! I've been here twice now and the pizza is stellar to say the least and the nachos are bomb! The beer is also really good! What I was the most impressed with, was the staff very friendly and helpful. My reason for the one star is because I work in retail my self and my store has got a couple one star reviews and yelp for some reason keeps the one stars at the top and that greatly impacts business. This place like any other business they cannot at all time make people happy, well the truth is there are some picky people out there that are hard to please!! So when pulled this place up in yelp and seen that they had some one star review from years ago I almost didn't come this place. I am glad I took the chance because I now know that this establishment listen to their customers and have corrected there service! Take it from a guy that works in retail and demands the best service because I give it! Don't think twice just come see for yourself!!!

This place rocks, the pizza is phenomenal as is the service the menu the location and the atmosphere. It is a one-of-a-kind pizza for the area that you will not get somewhere else. There is a full-service bar, the Decour is modern but you can come casual and there's even an outside area with a fire pit I believe. Yum!

Service was fantastic, Britney was really helpful as I'd never been here before. Awesome atmosphere and tons of TVs to watch the game! Go Ducks!

Service left a lot to be desired both trips to this location. Pizza is just okay, sandwiches are really good, but not worth the wait, price and bad service.

So after dropping our kids off at a birthday party we decide to go to The Rock for an appetizer. We settle on the nachos with chicken. Service was good and the nachos appeared good. As we started eating them it quickly became apparent the top layer was sour cream, chicken strips that looked it had been bought a Costco and green onion. The further down we ate the worse it got. Maybe 3 teaspoons of salsa and with mozzarella or monterey jack sparsely applied. Half the cheese wasnt melted. The biggest offender was that it was obvious the chips at the bottom third of the plate the chips were all stale. I have had good pizza here before but it will require a management change before I go back.

We ordered the "Revolution" pizza - I don't recommend it ... They poured (not drizzled) BBQ sauce all over it. Not good. I am posting a picture so you can see I'm not lying. Pizza crust was too hard to cut with a fork, and pizza was way to messy to eat by hand (insert frustration here). Pizza's are about $23-25 each ... frankly, if I'm paying $25 for a pizza, I'm getting Paddington's. I really want to try one of their 'normal' pizza's, but I doubt I will ever come back after my expensive BBQ sauce bath (er, lesson).

If you're looking for a mix between a bayou shack, something that looks like a knock off of the Hard Rock cafe, and elements of an industrial warehouse, you've got the right place. The Rock appears to be suffering from an identity crisis and/or multiple personality disorder. My mother, husband, and I basically picked this place because I wasn't interested in eating at the Red Robin and we didn't want to drive elsewhere. All three of us ordered one drink, my mother and I had a beer and my husband decided to order a shot of bourbon. The drinks were fine and we had plenty of time to enjoy them since our 3 small pizzas took about 30 minutes to get to the table. There were exactly two other tables occupied in the restaurant at the time, so I'm not sure a full 30 minutes was reasonable. However, from reading the reviews I guess this is standard. The pizzas were eatable, but nothing to write home over. My husbands meat lovers (or whatever they call it) came with exactly one small bit of sausage on each of his slices and he literally had to search for the pepperoni. I had ordered the simple pepperoni and it was cracker thin, burnt on the rim, and generally tasted like a decent quality freezer pizza. Sorry I cannot follow the herd and report that The Rock is the best thing ever. Maybe local residents of Salem have not had better and therefore cannot properly compare this joint.

Great customer service! Sexy decor. Way more than pizza. Fun place with good food. You have to see the kids menu. My kids loved the rock and roll vibe.

Wow, this was just awesome! Super fast, great, friendly service and everything we ordered was just amazing! If you get Rebecca, you are gonna love her! We got sharp dressed man, smoke in the water, rock chicken, ribs, money, and a half Mediterranean salad, ALL just amazing! I see some bad reviews but there were absolutely no complaints at our table! Oh and I almost forgot the garlic cheese bread, yum!

The burgers are delicious, but the pizza is actually really sub-par. This restaurant is very cool looking and their (weak) drinks are unique. However, their service is so horrible. I've been four times. One time, I just went to the bar, and still . . . Horribly slow service no matter how empty it is! I know it's tempting with how cool the place looks, but really, just go to Red Robin.

So I ordered a pizza to go. I got the meat pizza. For a 12 inch $20. I have tried a great number of pizzas. This one is just mediocre. There's really nothing special except for being wood fired. I don't think it worth that price whatsoever. I overpaid!!! I think this place is about the hype and likely you're paying for the atmosphere not the pizza. Hands down Paddingtons, Wallerys, and Garlic Jim's here in Salem are way better! Better quality ingredients and dough. I will NOT be returning. The dough seemed cheap quality as if they created a recipe that would be the cheapest to make. The sauce was good I'll give them that and the reason for the 2 stars. Toppings tasted like pre packaged frozen type, cheese was okay. Highly over priced!

Waited 10 mins to order. Drinks stayed empty until requesting a refill. Our server, was very sweet and friendly. Perhaps the party of ten next to us, took away his attention. Had to ask for refills on drinks, had to even ask for the menus to be removed from the table. I ordered a "1/2" of the shrimp salad, which had toasted sesame seeds, roasted peppers, and shrimp. The serving size was tiny- for $8.99. I had to double check with the server that it was the correct order, because it was comically small. Only three shrimp. The peppers were not cooked. The sesame seeds were not toasted. So, the salad basically had three DEEP FRIED shrimp, atop a tiny bed of romaine lettuce, for nine dollars. One would think that if someone is ordering a salad perhaps part of the motivation is to save on calories- not load up on them with deep fried food in the salad. I would have just asked for french fries. Tried a bite of pizza. The dough was chewy, but had a good crunch on the bottom from cooking in the fire oven, which was redeeming. Served on a giant pizza tray, the servers had issues navigating around the individual trays sitting at the end of all the tables, including ours. Great idea, in concept, but, very clunky. Never going back.

Waited for our food for an hour. Our friends who suggested this place claimed "the food is great".. however when we ordered they got nothing. My first red flag... we ordered and waited an hour for our food, on a non busy Friday night. I ordered some "rocking chicken " burger, however it was more of a blues ballad than a rock one. The chicken was thin and dry. The bun was almost as dry as the chicken. We also ordered Sweet Potato fries, which wasn't anything to write home over. The waitress onmy came to our table once to take our order, provide me one water, when it was empty it was empty... and then to come get our money. The food is also over priced for what you get. I'm never coming back to this ill lit place and just going to Red Robin across the parking lot. Cheaper, better flavored food, bottomless fries, and you don't have to wait an hour to get your food. And if you are the manager would have comped your meal by now..

Hold up. Wait a minute, let me put my two cents in it. Our food was good, not great and it doesn't make up for the horribly cold and slow service from our server, Christopher. The yummy mixed drink (Godzilla) I had, did relaaaxe me and was the one (and morals) reason I generously tipped. I was there with 7 other ladies who trickled in 20 minutes apart. The last and fourth lady suffered from the service the most because they were completely forgotten in the 3.5 hours we were there. Why did we stay? Well we survived because we were in great company but we unanimously agreed the service was poo poo. In conclusion, if you have plans after eating here be sure you can be an hour or so late. Also, grab a drink to ease the pain of the service.

It is true, never order anything on the menu that diverges from what a restaurant is famous for. I've had their pizza once before and it was adequate. This last visit I really wanted soup and salad. They tout their French Onion soup so I ordered that with a side salad. I must say it was unlike any French Onion soup I have ever had - it was a thick beef gravy with cooked onions in it and a chunk of bread with some kind of white cheese melted over the top. I tried two bites and knew I couldn't eat it. I paid my bill and walked across the parking lot to Red Robin for their French Onion soup and salad. Theirs is not as good as homemade but at least it is a broth, not a gravy. This is a lesson learned for me - at a pizza joint, just order pizza.

I was in there on January 9th, 2015, with my wife. Our first time there, and I was impressed. I like the "rock vibe", and as far as places that used to be a Hollywood Video go, you can't even tell the restaurant used to be one! AMAZING job with the renovation. The dinner experience was very chill. Not too busy, not too slow. I had the "Stairway to Heaven" pizza. LOVED IT. My wife had fish and chips, that was very good too, however it was cold and we got a re-fire. That's honestly the only thing preventing 5 stars. The individual that came up with this place is a marketing genius. Every detail is awesome. We are planning to come back soon. Very good experience. Thanks again!

So this is The Rock. A hard rock inspired pizza joint, with a large selection of mixed drinks in little plastic buckets. The fare is like any other Rock, if you've been to one. The pizzas aren't cheap, but their happy hour in the bar makes up for a lot of that. They have a wide variety of specialty pizzas, with the make your own option as well, of course. Two kinds of sauces, red and white. I love this place, even if it is a little spendy and is a regional chain. It still has a style that's hard to beat, and I love the food. I was also thrilled to be greeted immediately upon entering, with my waiter coming I take my order quickly. And returning rapidly with my Original Bucket. I'm also pleased to see the large surface area. Plenty of booths and high tables in the bar, with great lighting and kick-ass music. Plenty of employees in hand and a great location, right next to Red Robin and across from the Lancaster Mall. If this areas not careful, it might actually turn into something cool. Can you tell I'm happy The Rock had come to Salem? Cuz I am.

The over all feeling of this place is Applebee's/Jersey shore. The onion rings are amazing, and I like the lava lamp drink. The service is fast HOWEVER they don't know shit about drinks that aren't in the menu. I ordered a gin martini and had to show the bar tender step-by-step how to make it. She then told me 'Sorry, mostly only old people order that'.

You know, it was okay. First of all, hours worked out very well in my favor. The first, and only time I came here, it was my partner and I's first date. It was the only place (besides fast food, and who wants to woo their partner with freaking McDonalds?) that was open. Since it was literally walking distance from my house, it worked out perfectly (definitely a great location, right by Target and the restaurant's just off Center). We were practically the only people there. Which definitely worked well in our favor. Wait, however, was a little long. Pizza was alright, definitely would choose it over that monstrosity Little Ceasar's, so it passes my basic pizza test. However, for one medium pizza, it was a little pricey (about 25 bucks). Didn't mind decor, though it seemed like they were trying too hard to establish an industrial/rock theme? Service alright but nothing special. They were nice, just not exactly on point/attentive and it took a while for the food and drinks to get to table. Would my partner and I come back? Maybe. But there's better eateries in Salem, with more bang for the buck.

Omfg! This place is absolutely amaze balls... if you enjoy waiting 20 minutes to get your drink order taken. Or getting half cooked and tepid (cheese only!) pizza that had obviously been sitting around for a while served to you. Or paying for overpriced drinks without any refills and not even seeing your server to ask for one. Ok, so I rescind my amaze balls comment above.... End oozing sarcasm. We would come here because we at least somewhat enjoyed the pies, and sometimes it was hit or miss for the palate with the myriad of pie options. And sometimes it was hit or miss with the server, but at least my pie came out hot enough to burn the top of my mouth and the drink was topped off at least once. I like hot pizza and refills... F!@# me right! Sadly there wasn't even a full house to keep our server busy (we were 2 of maybe 10 people) so I'm not sure what was going on. I sympathize with the folks in the service industry, I really do. I tend to leave generous tips and be as pleasant as I can because I realize you folks have it rough. People are demanding and bitchy. I get it. In this case being served cold pizza and paying for overpriced (bad) food and drink is unacceptable. I was really looking forward to that pie... And I've made the executive decision to never go back.

Food was ok - like any other sport bar or burger/pizza place. Gluten free pizza price a bit much. But like the gluten free menu selection.

Totally under-staffed. Good server but overwhelmed. Food came out slow and over-seasoned badly. Had to ask for silverware and napkins. Clam chowder only warm and a bit gummy. 30 minutes to get soup. Will not be back.

First off I understand all the feedback about the waiting but think about it- it's a brand new restaurant opened in a crappy city that has very few places to eat/hang out so YES it's busy and YES you are going to have to wait longer for your freshly made wood fired pizza so just relax and enjoy you're in a clean, friendly, cool ambience of a restaurant IN Salem, OR. The food is delicious for a normal pizza, pasta, burger place, which is very rare to find in Salem, and I'm super picky! They have the best chicken strips I have ever had in my life and it's very hard to impress me. Picture the chicken you get in sweet and sour chicken but a HUGE juicy breast, it's so rare to find cooks that can cook chicken strips without drying them out, no joke it was amazing and a huge portion, you will be so full after you eat it. It's weird to say this but the BBQ sauce is sooooo delicious. I'm not just acting like I've never had Texas BBQ or anything it's sweet and a perfect taste and texture, as well as all the other sauces- which they will give you all to try if you ask. The wings are baked but let me tell you they are way better than going to the Buffalo Wild Wings a few doors over- worst experience at that place. They also play the games on the TV's in the bars and one of the manager's - Seth was so friendly and changed the TV's to the games we wanted. The two times I've been there the waiters have been extremely friendly and helpful. To sum it up it's a good experience comparable to a Portland suburban restaurant in Salem Oregon which is pretty cool to have when I visit that sh***h*** -_- :-)

Terrible . Service slow . Atmosphere bad . Ordered a flat iron for lunch . Overcooked , poor quality beef and presentation horrible . Plate covered in fries and small "steak" shoved on the edge . I hate this place

I am hoping for this place to get better but it just gets worse. The food is decent because pizza is always good even when it's bad. I also give high marks for the ambiance. The bar area is really cool with fire features and an industrial feel but the service...holy cow is it terrible. I met some friends for lunch today and we arrived right as the place was opening at 11am. We entered the bar area and found that all of the tables were dirty. I guess they left them dirty from the night before. We had to wait for an inordinate amount of time for the server to wipe down a table for us. One more tip: if you don't like meat on your pizza, you will need to BEG for a vegetarian pizza during the lunch buffet. They don't replenish the buffet often so the one veggie option is always gone.

Lot's of hype? Yes Lot's of room? No Enough tables? No Enough Staff? Yes Noisy? Yes Unique? You Bet. This place looks like the love child of Hard Rock Cafe' and Shakey's Pizza! Can someone explain the faux crumbling decor? It's confusing. So, I took my daughter and her BF here last night for dinner because I have been wanting to try this place since it opened. When we walked in there were many people waiting for a seat and NONE of them looked pleased. The greeter said it would be a 45 minute wait, but could be shorter. It was just about 7:30 p.m. when we arrived. We gave our name and settled in to wait. We were seated after about 15 nimutes ( I have to say though that a very large group who was waiting ahead of us bailed out, but there was at least 10 of them.) As we were led to our table, I saw why seating was at a premium. A large group of about 30 folks were dominating the central dining area leaving precious tables for the other patrons. Upon being seated, we perused the menus and we were greeted by our perky and friendly server; Kevin, who asked if we needed the menu explained to us. We didn't. The menu wasn't that difficult to understand. If you need help with their menu, you MAY want to rethink your dining options and stick to drive through reader boards. But I digress...We ordered a Meaty Beaty in the large size. Their specialty pizza's have music tie ins, and their names reflect those references. Cute, and totally cheesy. The pizza arrived on a large serving pan that looked as if it had been used to drive Circus Tent Stakes at the last Cirque D'e So Blah performance. It was barely a rectangle. Setting the pizza at the edge of the table is a good idea as it frees up the table space, however the space between tables is such that navigation around the pizzas is a recipe for disaster. The pizza itself was adequate. It had a nice thin crust and just the right amount of sauce. It wasn't overly hot, in fact it was just a little warmer than room temperature, but I kind of like my pie that way. Reminds me of the pizza's I used to get in Jersey. The crust was crisp on the edges but the rest of the pie was 'floppy', making it the perfect pie to fold and eat! As I did so, my memories of growing up in Jersey came rushing back. The flavor was good too. Price point was average for 'specialty' pizza in Salem. In fact it was just about on par with home delivery service from other higher end places around town. The downfalls of The Rock Wood Fired Pizza and Spirits detract from the good points making the place a solid 'MEH' on the scale of places to go. They need to do something about the sound dampening....open ceilings are not that interesting anymore and putting some sound baffling up there would go a long way towards helping you to hear your dining companions conversation. I will most likely make a return visit.

Love love this place. The food is soooo good but the service is worse then McDonald's.. The stuff on the walls is really fun and different. A whole new staff and management and this place would be the go to place in salem.

Yummy pizza! Try the Bang a Gong and the Evil Ways. Both delicious and very different. The beer was good too! Charlotte is the server to get if you're in the bar area. She gave us great ideas and was the perfect amount of friendly. The only complaint is that the atmosphere is a little dark and weird. Not my style. However, the food and drinks and service make up for it!

My boyfriend and I came here on a Wednesday night. The wait staff were really courteous and let us choose our own table and our server was a funny, polite young woman. We ordered the Revolution pizza, which has bbq sauce, pulled pork, roasted peppers and pineapple. We also decided to split a full size Spinach & Apple salad. It took awhile for the food to come out, and the pizza actually came out before we got the salad. The quality of the food was good, but a little over priced for the pizza. The large pizza we ordered didn't seem like a large, and it was misshapen--more oval than round. The pulled pork wasn't evenly distributed over the pizza. It was more like big scoops. But the Revolution was overall very delicious. The salad was enough to split and still take half of it home. The dressing on the salad was very peppery, but it was delicious. The salad was fresh and filling. I liked it so much I started making my own version. I liked the food. The ambiance was kinda bro-ish and cheesy, but fun. I think they need more wait staff and people in the kitchen, just because our entree came before the salad and the person who brought out the food was not our server. The price was a little spendy to make this a monthly outing, but I'll keep it in mind the next time we're looking to splurge.

**Overall, cheesy rock n'roll themed restaurant. Think Ed Hardy, Brett Michaels, etc. Too many front of house staff, not enough (or not trained enough) back of house staff. Stupid, inexperienced teenage waitresses who wouldn't know customer service if it was in a book titled "Customer Service". ** Family and I ate here on 9/28 and 9/29. Despite the fact that the food took 40 minutes to arrive on 9/28, the service was decent and so was the food. My husband (who may have had just a tad too many beer samples) declared the pizza amazing and demanded we return the following day. This is what makes a marriage strong... 9/29: 1 hour wait for our food, with ZERO sympathy from waitress Sherayne who seemed to not even notice how long we'd been waiting when I stopped her after just 40 minutes. According to her, there was a hold up on the "pasta line". It seems the table behind me didn't get their burgers in a timely manner--must have been a hold up on the "burger line". Give me a break. My husband had to get up and go to the bar to get a beer as our waitress disappeared for 20 minutes. When she stopped by later she didn't even ask how he'd got it! Later I had to stop the hostess to get a soda refill... and waters? Forget about it--our waitress did. After an hour wait for food, a $50 tab, and a flippant "sorry for your wait", I guarantee I won't be returning. It seems that an overly long wait--enough for people to actually get up and leave--is standard here. New or not, no place should take that long to get food out of the kitchen and if it does, it better have plenty of managers on hand to apologize. During my visit, I saw nothing but mindless teens floating about with nothing to do.

So I went in to the rock tonight my friends have told me really bad things how the service was slow and food took a really long time to come out but they obviously did not have Joray as their server. She was amazing to us she made sure we had everything we needed the food came out in a timely manner. Even the manager swung by and made sure we okay. Great experience we will be definitely be going back. And just so you know they give dough to kids as play dough the kids really enjoyed. Great place and service.

I'm not sure if it was the full moon or what but my family loved this place !! Checking out the other reviews make me wonder was this just a stroke of luck ?? Or are they just not reaching the right clientele ?? My daughter wanted a burger so we stopped at Red Robin it was packed and the wait was 20 min .. So walking to the car we see this place .. We decided to go in and check out the menu !! Wow -- it had something for everyone . Our server was a delight the manager stopped to check on us and the hot wings where crispy perfection ! One of the best burgers ever and for gluten free pizza hell, it doesn't get better ! Give this place a shot .. If you are open minded and not looking for cookie cutter conservative run of the mill family place ..Id go back just to listen to Jim Morrison while I'm eating :)

It saddens me to write this review. I LOVE the rock's pizza, But this location has HORRIBLE service, And when I say HORRIBLE, I mean we waited 50 minutes and left. It was a slow night. The manager made some excuse that they where "sweeping" the ovens and only one oven was being used that evening. And this is my problem? Maybe you should have turned on the other oven before sweeping the current one so wait times where not so slow. Maybe you should have come around to your quests and ofter a drink or an explanation of the delay before we had to complain. This only solidified my wife's dislike for this place and in validated my argument that it would change.

Great pizzas and my daughter loved the meatball sandwich. Service was great and the food arrived promptly. These funny people that try to write bad reviews of this place and try to say that people In Salem don't know any better are idiots. I am a chef that just spent the last four years in Las Vegas and this pizza is right there with the best that I have had. Get a life narrow minded people.

We were traveling through Salem and we were in search of a Red Robin. The wait time at Red Robin was long and we were anxious to get to Portland so we went across the parking lot to what looked to be an interesting place to eat. The kids loved the decor inside The Rock and I was happy with the rock music playing in the background. We all ordered sandwiches, salads or fish and chips which came promptly. The food was really tasty and our service was good. We look forward to eating here again on our next trip through.

Seems like a popular place... We came for the first time on a Saturday around lunch time. The parking lot was full, and inside 2/3 of the tables in the main area were in use, but the bar area was mostly empty (which is where we ate). The vibe is very much like a corporation did a bunch of focus groups with middle american bros to find out what atmosphere would "click" best when trying to do an even more mass-market version of Hard Rock Cafe... Dark walls, rock & roll paraphernalia, fake torn up exposed concrete and bricks, etc. At least it wasn't overly noisy inside. The staff is very friendly and attentive and our orders were taken fast, but it took over 45 minutes to get our pizza. It was the "Founders" and it was pretty good (especially the sauce), but that was just too long a wait. Prices were a little high, medium sized pizza and two pops were around $22. The menu also has a fair selection of sandwiches etc. We might go back if it looks less busy next time we're in the neighborhood (which is basically a traffic-ridden unattractive area of malls and shopping centers).

Love their garlic bread and their buckets. Can be a little spendy but I usually take advantage for their happy hour special times.

Like everyone else says, horrible service. This place is slow as can be, and customer service is clearly the least of their concerns. I only find myself going back for the Buckets. They are in the wrong place (right next to BWW & Red Robin), to be slacking on customer service. In the end it's the owners loss for business and the tenders/waiters loss for tips and extra cash.

Called in an order to go, the lady on the phone was nice enough. She told us our pizza would be ready in 20-25 minutes... We arrived 45 minutes after we called, they had to find the order ticket, couldn't get our gift card to work, and then told my husband it would be about 10 more minutes! Never again. Out first experience wasn't good, and this one has been no better!!!

Based on Pizza alone.....4 Stars Based on Service.......zero Stars Average...2 Stars. Our server was nice young lady but this place is severely undermanned which under most circumstances would me us pass on this place in the future.

The 9.99 buffet for lunch gave me stomach cramps, but the server was enthusiastic and there was no wait probably due to their reviews on Yelp. I wouldn't come back unless my grandma gave me a gift certificate, but you might have better luck.

We hesitated to come here after reading some of the reviews, but I figured I could put up with bad service if the pizza was that good. And having moved to Silverton not that long ago from Chicago, I've been on a quest for good pizza for a while. Figaro's is not it. Anyway. We ordered a large pizza, onion rings as an appetizer, and my aunt got the huge margarita in a bucket - which was the funniest drink I"ve ever seen, in an actual plastic bucket. Classic. Onion rings were perfect. The pizza? Perfect as well - very much like a true Italian wood-burning-stove pizza. I think it's my new favorite, which is saying a lot, since there's only one other pizza I've found in the area that i like. The service was top-notch. Our server hustled around making sure EVERY table was taken care of - quick to refill drinks, get us anything we needed, etc., all with a smile on her face. Overall, if you're looking for great food - and some of the best pizza around - in a fun atmosphere with great service, this is a great choice.

Love the decor and the ambiance in the bar. That's all I love. The service is sometimes very very good and sometimes not. The food is sometimes okay, and sometimes not. I would describe the pizzas as gourmet, they sound interesting on the menu, but don't ever taste as good as they sound. Their cheese bread is the best thing on the menu...sometimes. Other times there's a whole lot of bread and very little cheese. The appetizers are pretty good, the mushrooms are great--this is a good happy hour place, but just because of the atmosphere. They need to work on service, consistency and taste.

Waited over an hour to get seated...waited 25min to get a beer...waited 40min to get a pizza. Never got a refill on a drink...Never got the sauce requested. If your looking for good pizza, this isn't the place. However if you looking for over priced food that is mediocre at best...you'll waste your money here. Say the trip and your cash! I'd opt for frozen pizza from Safeway before coming here again.

I'm just going to make a list so it's clear. 1. One person ordered soup and salad, the others ordered pizza. The soup came out after the pizza, then they had to ask for the salad. 2.everything took forever from seating, to taking our order, to getting drinks, to getting our food, to the ketchup that never came, to getting our check. The whole place was more than half empty. Buffalo Wild Wings was packed with a wait time over 30 mins, same with red robin. There's a reason no one was here. 3. The bathroom was trashed. Not vandalized but neglected. Paper overflowing the trash. No one had been in to clean it all day. 4. The food was mediocre and about 200% of what it should have been. I paid 16 dollars for a sandwich fries and a soda. The sandwich couldn't even been eaten without a fork. The fork took forever to come too. 5. The salad wasn't anything more than shredded lettuce. That's not a salad, that's just insulting. I'm not demanding I don't ask for much, I've worked in restaurants over the years I'm pleasant and I tip well unless I'm given lots of reasons not to. Your decor is awesome, the theme is amazing, I wanted to take my friends and family here. I'd rather wait in line for a half hour than ever return. If it's this bad half empty it would be hell when it's busy. I highly suggest getting some kind of consultant to patch things up. You've had similar complaints on yelp for months! Get it together!

This review is for Daniel, the floor manager on Thursday at 7pm. My original The Rock bucket was basically juiced down water, as was my moms who got the Margarita bucket, I mentioned this to Daniel and he originally seemed to take it personally and got defensive. Then as he handed it to the bartender they exchanged those typical 'butt hurt' glances, until they saw I was watching. Eventually Daniel eased up and asked if I wanted something else, I said 'no thank you' . My mom still wanted her margarita so we got one more made for her, Daniel brought it around he seemed more at peace with the situation and added in a pleasant tone that 'there's an extra shot in there' which we at the table were delighted to hear. He then proceeded over to me casually and asked if I was sure I didn't want anything else... I looked him in the eye and in a friendly manner said 'well if there's going to be an extra shot in it, if you have that authority, I would appreciate that greatly' ... We exchanged smiles and he said 'okay let me get that out for you.' The drink was definitely better, thank you Daniel. For $11 I expect nothing less ;) . Definitely appreciate the prompt attention to this customer service mishap. Would like the GM of the Rock restaurant group to know to ADD MORE liquor to your drinks. Especially since SPIRITS is in your title. Thank you .

After the hour wait, we were served cold pizza. The only reason I'm giving this place three stars is because the manager decided to comp everything...beers included. We didn't eat the pizza and left hungry, but the manager did the right thing and I commend that.

This was my first visit to the establishment and possibly my last. When we arrived, we were told the wait was approximately 45 minutes, but there was open seating in the bar. We walked back to the bar, only to find one of the hostesses seating a group from the waiting list. So my group and I went back out front to be added to the wait list. Fortunately, seating only took 30 minutes. The waitress was sweet, but a little naive. Water was not offered and soda refills were slow. After an hour wait, we were informed the kitchen lost our order ticket. We asked to speak to the manager, who put a rush on the pizza and told us he would take 15% off the order total. Another 20 minutes later, the incorrect pizza was brought to the table. The manager remade the correct item, which arrived in about another 15 minutes. In summary, 2.5 hours, OK food, and only 15% comp for a major mistake? Not worth it to me.

I visited The Rock in Salem for lunch. I came in during the buffet time and was told about it by the host at the door. I sat in the bar at a table for about 10 minutes and no one greeted me. So I got up, found the buffet, got food and sat back down. 10 minutes later still no one talking to me so I went to the bar to get a glass of water. 2 more trips back to bar to get water and still no help at the table. Finally got up, asked the bartender to get my bill, paid without a tip and left. There were about 5 people staffed in the bar and it was a slow time. I was dressed professionally as I was on my work lunch break and still got no service. Seemed the whole place very poorly managed and the buffet was poor. Bad experience won't be back.

My husband and I went to the rock night before thanksgiving We sat in the bar, they were not busy we waited 10 minutes for our drinks ice tea and root beer. I told the waiters I'll order an alcoholic beverage after I review there menu. She never came back for my drink order. And she didn't refill our beverages either. I had fish tacos and husband had pork sandwich took forever to come out. Food tasted good that's why I gave them 2 stars, serves sucked!! Not willing to go back to be ignored!

1 star for neat looking brick work. Seriously though, this is not good pizza. I do not know how this chain is growing. The place was nearly empty when I went there on a Sunday around dinner service. Bar was clean. Maybe their other menu items are better?

Oh "The Rock". I tried it on its 3rd day. Interesting decor , reminded me of a version of what the Seattle "Hard Rock Cafe" should look like if it weren't the bast..d "Hard Rock Cafe" in the chain. But that's a different review. The food is what brought my guest and I into"The Rock".As well as the desire and appetite for good wood fired "smoky pizza" (almond wood fired we were told proudly). I have been to several "Wood fired Pizza" places including the small Bay Area chain "Ameche's" & Seattle based "Tutta Bella Neapolitan Pizza". Both extremely good and "smoked" as the wood fired method would imply. Back at day 3 of "The Rock". Pizza was ordered, a half and half large. The employee 's seemed to be friendly and happy to be a part of such a "New Thing". The Pizza Arrived piping hot & displayed before us... Viola! My guest and I had the same reaction at the same time. where's the Smoke? This "Wood Fired" Pie was missing its namesake!!(for God's Sake)! No almond wood flavor? What? It was just a glorified "Pizza Hut" pizza in a cool atmosphere! I asked the manager about it and was told that it would take a good couple of months before everything would be "seasoned enough" to produce the desired smoky flavor we were looking for. The meal was comped and we left. It just seems strange that he basically told us that their pizza wouldn't be any good for a few months!?!? And also that pizza cooked over those fine "Almond chips" couldn't produce enough smoke when ignited in a confined cooking area regardless of months of "seasoning". Strange. Needless to say I'am extremely bummed to say the least. I guess I will have to drive to the nearest "Ameche's" which is in the old "Nut Tree" location in Vaccaville.((((UPDATE )))))) I Returned in early January to see if they were "Broken in" yet. Not even close!! Still not quite a glorified "Pizza Hut"! This place focuses on their pictures on the wall rather than the food! Others I have spoken with in the past five months are less than thrilled with the FOOD. While people dining there seem to be "distracted"by the colors on the wall rather than why they are there. That's pretty much what these places count on!Especially in this area. A lot of people wouldn't know quality if it bit them on the ...! I will not return!! More excuses from management. Same old crap. Can we get you a desert?? (To distract you from the fact that you came here to eat "wood fired" pizza?) don't waste your time or money!

Had to leave, 30 min + and nothing. I looked around and saw other families without food looking around for a server and empty drinks. No food on there table either. Had to bail without trying the food. Red Robin seated us immediately and our server placed food in front of us within 30 minutes. On way out could see the family we left behind, seated before us, just started eating. This place will need to get it together fast.

Everyone that works here is super nice- they even allowed me to change a channel to watch a game other than the Ducks! Calamari was killer, dipping sauces are awesome and great beer on tap. The overall atmosphere is is welcoming and in the bar you almost feel like your outside on the patio.

Yum!

Totally under-staffed. Good server but overwhelmed. Food came out slow and over-seasoned badly. Had to ask for silverware and napkins. Clam chowder only warm and a bit gummy. 30 minutes to get soup. Will not be back.

The 9.99 buffet for lunch gave me stomach cramps, but the server was enthusiastic and there was no wait probably due to their reviews on Yelp. I wouldn't come back unless my grandma gave me a gift certificate, but you might have better luck.

  • Melanie K.

1 star for neat looking brick work. Seriously though, this is not good pizza. I do not know how this chain is growing. The place was nearly empty when I went there on a Sunday around dinner service. Bar was clean. Maybe their other menu items are better?

This place is horrible. Given it three tries and Everytime I went the food was nasty. And I tried three different things and every single one was gross. I've been to this restaurant a few times and have really enjoyed it! The food has always been excellent and the themed decor is well done. Earlier on, I did receive mediocre service a couple times, but the service in my more recent visits has been quite good. One particular server, Kristina, was amazing! We were sitting at a booth in the bar area and she was tending bar and waiting several tables at the same time, but she still seemed to anticipate every need and was "spot on" the entire time. I'll definitely go back!

Very disappointed in the customer service at this location :'( We were very big fans of this restaurant in WA and excited to get one in Salem. Not sure if they can make up for it and might not be returning.

First time here. New place and it was packed! We sat in the bar rather than waiting for a table. The service left a LOT lacking but it's a new place & crazy busy so kind of understandable. The annoying part was after it slowed down the service did not improve. The food was mediocre & pretty greasy. I had the French onion soup which was not very soupy- mostly cheesy toast. Side salad was okay. Founders Pizza was greasy and really not that flavorful. The beer: I had a Suicide Blonde. Tasty. My boyfriend had a Sledgehammer. He said it was fine. We will give this place another shot once they've been open longer then 3 weeks. And we'll sit in the restaurant.

I went to this place for a birthday party. They had great pizza but definitely not my favorite. The service was great. We had a female waitress and she did her job well. I'd definitely return back but it wouldn't be my first choice for pizza.

went for a second time to try their pizza. pizza was 3 stars, but service was 5 stars. FAST and efficient! pizza had flavor, and the crust was just OK -- nothing special. would go again, since we live just down the road. wasn't busy on a friday evening, although the weather was snowy. super friendly staff...

This is a chain restaurant that tries to be a fusion of Hard Rock Café and House of Blues. The number one thing they sell is entertainment. You don't go for the food or beer. You go for the Rock-n-Roll shtick of the place. We had two of the pizzas and a salad. The salad looked and tasted like it was made in a factory with chicken that was likely cooked out of state. The pizzas were ok, but not even in the top five of Salem. They were better than Chuck e Cheese and Little Caesars, but nowhere near as good as Christos or Church Street or a number of delivery places. We sat and waited an hour for our food after we ordered. Based on the temperature and taste of the pizza, I suspect the food had been ready for 15 minutes before we got it. I got tired of waiting for silverware and so wandered into the kitchen to get my own, which was good because we were well into our meal before the waitress finally brought us the forks we had asked for. If some friends wanted to go back, I'd join them, but I would probably make plans to eat somewhere else first. And while they appear to push their own lines of microbrew, nothing out of the tap impressed me.

Awful service. Waited 20 minutes for a rootbeer, then waited over an hour for cold pizza, and when our cold pizza came my two year old cranky toddlers pizza never came and when I reminded the waitress, she said sorry they forgot to make it. She wasn't going to touch our pizza because of the prosciutto and lettuce. Worst service, no apologies, just terrible!

Wife and i went on a Friday nite about 8pm. Waited in bar about 45 min for a booth. 3 bartenders seemed overwhelmed. Stood at bar for 15 minutes waiting for one of the 3 to make eye contact. Nothing till we were able to finally grab 2 empty seats at the bar. My wife really liked their cider, even though it looks more like a porter. Server at our booth was quick initially, but then very slow on follow ups. Was not impressed at all with the food, or service. I ordered the bayou pasta. Server said oh that is my favorite. When it came there were no shrimp in it. After finally getting my servers attention and asking about lack of shrimp, she said "oh i must have ordered it without shrimp cuz thats how I like it" REALLY! Staff definitely needs more training. Really cool atmosphere and decor though.

Loved the bar area, especially the fire pit in the middle!! We had company in from California though and 1 of the people had lost her ID so she only had a temporary ID from the DMV and they would not allow us to sit in the bar which kind of sucked, but I understand. Food was great, drinks were great, our waiter was a little unattentive, but aside from that it was a great experience. Happy Hour is always the best deal!!

This place was awful. Greasy pizza. Two pieces of pineapple per slice. The waiter wouldn't leave us alone. Won't go back for sure. Wish I had read reviews before going in! Should've gone to red robin like originally planned.

Eh. Horrible service. My group of 4 Sat in the bar and waited 15 minutes for someone to serve our table. No one came, so we stared at one of the bartenders until he yelled out someone's name. A few moments later, we had a waitress at our table. She said the bartenders were slammed. One look at the bar, and there were 4 guys just standing around behind the bar. Food was OK. I've had way better pizza here in town. I get that the place is new, but wow management of the staff sucks. We came in after 10pm, it was NOT busy. Hopefully they work out their kinks.

Got seating right away in the bar area at 6pm on a Sunday night. A little slow on the service but they were quite busy! The in house microbrew beer was delectable. All had great flavor and a distinctive difference to the mainstream. The food was equally great. The pizza we got was called Wild Child which was a perfect blend of cheeses spinach and mushrooms. Mouth watering taste. Also a sandwich called The Money. The price also was very good. Came out to be $15 per person with an entree and an alcoholic drink each. Great deal for some great food!!!! All in all a great experience and will go back many many more times!

My girlfriend and I met a couple friends in the bar for a birthday. We were supposed to have reservations but they miss placed the name and number of people, so we had to find open seating in the bar. The atmosphere is pretty cool and fun, unique to Salem. It was a Friday night, so the place was really busy. After we found our friends and sat down with them we waited about 15 minutes for a server to take our drink orders. Waited another 15 to receive our drinks and then give our food order. I ordered the My Generation pizza and my girlfriend ordered the pulled pork pizza, (I forget the name). The pizza was good, not amazing, just good. We waited a good 30-40 minutes to get our pizza. Our server never stopped and asked us how we were doing or if we needed anything. When we needed refills we had to flag her down. Overall the service was not good. For me, service is the difference between and great experience and an average experience. Last Friday night was less then average.

The service was the worst I've ever seen in any restaurant, ever. Our group of about 8 people arrived to celebrate a birthday, and waited about 45 minutes for two tables next to each other. Since the restaurant was fairly new, and pretty busy, this seemed reasonable. However, after being seated and ordering our pizzas, things turned ugly. 1-1/2 hours after ORDERING our pizza, it still had not arrived. We asked the waitress, for about the 3rd time, how much longer the pizza was going to take. When the pizza finally arrived, about half of our party had already left and gone home. I was very angry, and swore that I would never set foot in the restaurant again. I can't even remember what the pizza tasted like. Whether it was just forgettable, or that the LOUSY service turned my stomach, it doesn't matter. Do yourself a favor and avoid at all costs.

Such a dissapointment. Needs new managment n staff, except Patrick he was the reason we came back the 2nd time. AFTER One and a half hours with no food and our waiter asking us if we even ordered from him???? And our food order missing...Horrified our birthday party (of servers ourselves) moved to Red Robin where we had hot food on the table in 5 mins. I wont be back! If you go ask for Patrick or don't bother.. A restauraunt is only as good as it's team and they just do not have it together yet!

The rock shtick is cute, but the pizza is pretty mediocre. We had really bad service, on a night the place wasn't very busy. The waiter was oblivious. Even I had to walk up to the bar to get our own drinks, he didn't think to apologize. There are a couple places to get better pizza and much better service in Salem. My wife says never again. I must concur.

We've been here twice for lunch and enjoyed it both times. The food is good, the menu varied and interesting and the service couldn't be better. My wife and I like the old rock-n-roll songs they play and my son thinks the decor is awesome (broken bricks, rock band posters, TVs, etc.). It shares a parking lot with Red Robbin and as far as I can tell, the parking lot is completely safe. It's easier to get a table here than at Red Robbin on Saturdays. Fun place!

The beer was good, the pizza was really good. The waitress was friendly, and smiled a lot, but I think she had too much on her plate. We waited a long time for food, (even longer than 2 people that walked in 15 minutes after us, (but I understand this can happen depending on what you order so its not really a factor in the star rating), this being said, the waiting for the check was painful, I don't know how long really, but we finally walked it up to the register and grabbed our waitress," time to go". She was very helpful when you could get her attention. The decor was interesting, and the fire pit style table, was cool. Fire is always cool. Parking is a JOKE, with the red robin and Target sharing a small corner of parking lot it was frustrating. I will probably return on a week night, if its less busy.

This place sucked balls. Horrible service. Waited 2 hours for food and then walked out. You're better off chopping wood, creating an oven in your house and making your own pizza. Boo. Big big boo.

Meh. Food isn't very good. It's not bad but it's not good either. The service was bad. I've had better pizza that is from a Take and Bake and the meatball sandwich wasn't any better then Subway. We were there during the buffet and it was dead. The atmosphere was cool but it is clear they put more into the decor then the food or staff. The floors were dirty with days of dust build up around the booths. We won't be back.

Really poor service when we came in the night before Thanksgiving. Took forever to get drinks, and then a long time to order our meals. We ordered two pizzas - an Evil Ways, and the Crazy Train. They were both good, but would have been much better had they not been relatively cold by the time they got to us. I had also ordered a salad, and it was very obvious that it had been sitting out for quite a while because it was wilted and warm. I don't know if the server, Nicole, was overwhelmed that evening with too many tables, or if there was a problem with the kitchen. Not sure I'm willing to try this place again. I think I'd rather wait until I see better reviews here.

Was not greeted at our table in the bar until I had to get up and ask. Waitress didn't even know her own menu. Told us our pizza came with red sauce when it came with white. Fun atmosphere but awful service. Hillsboro, OR has much better service. I recommend management to make sure there servers know their menu as we were very disappointed.

Flavorful pizza, mediocre drinks, but way overpriced! I have been there twice now and haven't been impressed either time. The first time I went was with several friends for drinks late Saturday night. The bar are had some people, but was not very crowded. It still took a server quite a while to come take our order; we waited about 25-30 minutes just for 4 cocktails. The bucket drinks are a fun idea & my friends enjoyed those, but I found their microbrews very lackluster. Their jello shooters had a very gritty consistency, which made them impossible to finish. The second time I went was for their afternoon happy hour. Even the discounted prices didn't take the sting away when we got the bill. I have definitely paid less for higher quality and greater quantities of food. The pizza was very tasty even though they skimped on the toppings. Some slicess had only cheese and sauce accompanied by one or two pieces of the additional toppings we paid for. The menu has a large variety and unique flavor combinations, but bottom line it's just not worth what they charge.

This is good pizza. They have a lunch buffet Wednesday - Friday where you can try several pies. Tasty indeed! Service was blasé - but I have been there for lunch only. I'll have it again and again.

Came during happy hour. The pizza was delicious the buckets were weak and service was downright terrible.so many severs standing around not helping cause it's not their table. Felt like our server would disappear and reappear 15mins later. The service is also super slow. Would go back for the food. The management needs to get their staff trained better.

The customer service was great. The pizza was fine but could have used more toppings. The beer was similar to beer from a place like the The Ram. Overall, I really liked the atmosphere and it was very open. They also gave our daughter some pizza dough to play with as well as animal crackers. If you like Buffalo Wild Wings, The Ram, etc....you will like this place.

What can i say about the rock. I can say that it is a rip off with horrible service and the pizza isn't all that great, not to mention it gave me an upset stomach for the entire next day. It started when we got there and got seated the wait time was a bit slow but its understandable. Next off we ordered our drinks and the waiter spilled one of the strawberry lemonades than he said he would be right back and it took about fifteen minutes to come clean it. Then after being seated and getting our drinks he took another 10 mins to take our order. $25 for large pizza, they're kidding right? It was me and two friends and we paid $34 to eat two slices and a drink. I didn't even get full not only did i not get full but i got sick after leaving from there. It was about an hour before i started feeling it and i don't have a weak stomach either. The one star is because the waiter was pretty funny and attentive but other then that i think that this pizza is not that good and not worth the money or the wait. My friends and i will never be coming back here again.

My husband and I ate here yesterday and had an alright experience. We waited 55 minutes to be seated but we had an awesome server named Patrick. He was very detail orientated, fast to refill drinks, offer suggestions and make us feel very comfortable. I highly suggest the Macaroni and Cheese but I would stay clear of the Fettuccini Alfredo (tasted like garlic milk....nothing like alfredo). We had thee best clam chowder I have ever had in my whole life, which I just might be back for on a lunch hour someday for that very item! I really appreciated and enjoyed that the host staff gave us samples while we waited. As a diabetic sometimes we need instant justification when it comes to food and waiting 55 minutes is a long time but with samples we were able to wait it out with no problem. The waiting room is very crowded so I suggest you come early if you are disabled and need a place to sit while you wait. Lots of able bodied people stand directly in front of the seats or take up the benches. I also noticed that one of the servers is fluent in sign language!! So far I am really liking this place- SVJ

As expected the Founders Pizza was delicious. I have been looking forward to this opening for awhile as I am from Washington. The service left me a bit disappointed. I hope it gets better as I really do like the food and drinks. If I hadn't waited 25 minuets for my bucket I probably would be much happier. But the food was delicious I can't complain about that. Just remember to be patient with the new staff!

Less than one star if I could. Have visited here several times and each time service is far less than par. We sat in the near empty bar area while it was "happy hour" on a Sunday. The bar area was not busy and had maybe 30% of their tables seated. We ordered 2 pasta dishes along with a simple sprite & well whiskey/coke as our server suggested $3 wells on happy hour. 20 minutes later our drinks were served & upon finishing the shot glass of a mixed drink, another one took another 20 mins to be served. 40 mins into our wait we wondered about our dinner side salads. Our meals were served roughly 50minutes after our order, cold, pasta sauce hardened and cold. Side salads came 10 minutes after our main course along with the drink they had forgotten to serve us 30 minutes earlier. We ordered our check after a few bites of our unappetizing cold food. Our waiter was great. Communication between the bar/wait staff maybe? I like this place but the extended wait for old food makes it not worth it anytime. Bummer!

My family and I were driving by and decided to stop in here today for a late lunch. After waiting for 10 minutes after being seated, our waitress finally stopped by to see if we'd been helped. We ordered drinks and an appetizer. The appetizer showed up before our drinks. Or waitress said, she would check on them. About 10 minutes later, my beer and my wife's margarita showed up. About 40 minutes later my daughter's pasta arrived and we were told they were pulling the pizza out now. 20 minutes later we were told it would be 2 minutes. We told them to keep the pizza and bring us the bill. 5 minutes later, she came back with our bill and the pizzas. She said they were comping the pizzas. However the beer, margarita, appetizer and my daughter's pasta were still there. I think that after 1 1/2 hours in a half full restaurant without getting your meal, the entire thing should have been comped. Once we got home and did try the pizza, mine was undercooked (raw in the center) and my wife's was average. We will not be going back, and I would recommend this place to no-one. I did have their IPA and it was pretty good.

Sevice is Bad, Bad, Bad. Went in for a couple of drinks with my wife after a meal across the street. First off, they are expensive. I am talking airport or 4 star hotel expensive. I don't mind expensive if the service matches but it didnt. The only thing I could compare it to was a baseball concession stand run by middle schoolers who all just got new I phones. There were 5 people sitting at the bar when we got there. Two of them gave up and left. Another joined our shared hostage experience while we waited for our tab. After finally losing my cool I yelled "hey" and managed to get the attention of one of the flock of employees standing in the corner. I left poorer and pissed off and will never go back. I give it a year tops.

Had dinner here tonight. Not overly busy, either in the main dining room or the bar. We sat in the bar. Seemed to be understaffed as many tables/booths needed bussing. Appeared to only be two servers for entire bar area, which is fairly large, and no bussing staff. Sat at only available booth, even though it still needed busing - server came by quickly to bus. Menus arrived quickly and we placed our order. Drinks came quickly, but pizza took more than 40 minutes to arrive. No real effort on part of server to explain long wait, nor offer to bring something else while we were waiting. Once pizza arrived was okay, hence the two-star rating vs. one star Good thin crust but nothing to write home about. This was our second trip there (first one about two weeks after they opened and it was disastrous, although manager did comp 50% of meal because of issues) and most likely our last. Unless/until they address their service issues (or maybe it's the kitchen that's the problem) we won't be back. If I'm going to spend more than an hour at dinner, I'd like it to be a fine dining experience, not a pizza joint.

Okay, here is my opinion of this new place. Wanted to go to another restaurant nearby but they were unexpectedly closed today. Bummer. So decided to try this place out since it was new. Not really what I wanted, but beggars can't be choosers. First impression: "Ed hardy is so 2001! Right? Bedazzled jeans, yikes!" But, I loved the music! They were busy, but we were pleasantly surprised to be seated in a booth right away. Perfect. Now, this place is a chain, so they must know a good business strategy before hand. However, I always cringe when I get a gigantor sized menu that is 4 or more pages of tiny print, no pictures. Too often I feel like this is an indicator that the food is going to be very overly processed. I mean they can't possibly make this stuff fresh. Think Olive Garden. We decided to try the pizza and one of the numerous sandwich options. Hence the name of the restaurant, I was expecting a better pizza. Wood fired? Hmmm, maybe wood fire finished. The dough was pretty tough and sort of salty. A style like...hmmmm...I would say Garlic Jim's crust. Overworked. The topping choices were different but good. They have like 15-20 different types of pizza, no joke, so I would like to try a few different types before I can really say that I like it or not. A 9" pizza (?? seemed smaller) was a small personal size for over $11.00. Expensive. The sandwich was served on a plain hard roll. But it wasn't a whole roll , it was a half roll. Maybe 6.457 inches. It wasn't toasted. I know it would have been so much better buttered and slightly toasted, in a wood fired sort of style. For over another $11 ,I felt a little slighted. I know, I am a food snob. Now this statement is going to make me sound cheap and that I might possibly have an eating disorder, but... If I am paying over $11 for a lunch, I expect to leave feeling full and with a box in hand or some kind of leftover. Or... I expect to feel satisfied that I ate at an organic fresh homemade lunch spot. Think Word Of Mouth on 17th. I would have felt better if the pizza was true wood fired style and the sandwich was on a full size buttered and toasted bun. Minor tweaks make all the difference. But shoot, then they would have to hire a special toaster watching person. Heck, I would even feel better if they served a house made ketchup with the beer battered fries (which were stand out good). Oh, and I shouldn't have to ask for a sharp knife, refills, and ketchup. OMG, they are totally going to know who I am now. We walked away feeling MEH....it wasn't bad but it wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be. I want to rate it a 2 1/2 star, but I will rate them a 3 star because they are new and there may be a few tweaks to twerk out. On a side note: Is serving alcohol in a bucket ever a good idea? Longest. Review. Ever. Snob.

The rock does not rock....sooooo sloooow! Food a C. They need to focus on good food and less on atmosphere. Won't be back. Another typical chain with bad food.
