We recently moved and have been eating out too much during the transition. To save some money we stopped at the local Sizzler. Still great prices. I had not been to Sizzler in years. It was pretty much what I expected. Friendly service and decent food for a Sizzler. My steak was a little to done for me, but the salad bar is still the best part of the Sizzler. Although, not as much variety as they used to have. Service was good to average.

It seems like sizzler used to be a lot better but basically it's glorified fast food now

Not quite up to Sizzle standards. Stake was overcooked and the service was marginal.

50 minutes to get our food and they were not busy at all. When we got our food, half of it was cold.

30 minutes to get our food today and there were only 4 tables with people at them. Not sure why it takes so long to make steak.

Went here on a Saturday around 5pm for dinner with the family. We ended up here because all our other first and second choices in the area, had too long of a wait. The selections of hot foods were below par for a restaurant. Tacos, onion rings and chicken wings were all fried and greasy. The spaghetti was horrible. That's all you get as hot options. The dessert area was pathetic. Soft serve ice cream is all. All the serving tongs that people use at the buffets were dirty and sticky. They are the tiny kind, that then sits on top if the food, after they are touched by everyone. Gross!! Our party did also order from the menu. A Cheese burger, and grilled salmon. The salmon was ok, something you could prob make at home, but the cheeseburger was dry. Save your money, and go else where. At least if you do want buffet, go down the street to Home Town Buffet, you get way more options for the same price. Way more....and done with better quality too!

Oh wow, gotta say I had some of the worst food I have had since moving back to Salem.... I got the salad bar for $9.99 and I was extremely shocked to find all the food in the salad bar to be from a can, frozen or purchased ready made from a grocery store.... The selection was very poor and the few hot items were pretty nasty as well. They had a make your own taco station with runny gummy meat product (taco bell tastes better) with a few toppings. Other hot items were some frozen meatballs in canned sauce with mushy noodles, frozen breaded hot wings, and frozen and soggy onion rings. Top it all off the dessert area consisted of soft serve vanilla "ice cream" with a couple of toppings. Wow either the standards are very low here in Salem or I became a food snob living in Las Vegas.... I won't be going there again.....I would rather go to McDonalds next door and buy 10 McDoubles for the same price!!!

I did like the salad bar, the bread they have (garlic Bread) is good, the steak though wasn't the best, had better steak for cheaper price then what I was charged. The Baked Potato was good though. And for drink, they have Pepsi :) so overall its good- but not great.

I went here on a whim on my birthday 5/30 I'm just getting to writing this though. What stood out and gave this a 4 star is the waitress, if I remember correctly her name was Jessica. She is a 5 star waitress, I've honestly never had a better waitress and it was FAR beyond anything I expected. Now to the food, Salad bar was a 2 star, it wasn't fresh I wasn't a fan. Steak was a 4 star, I was actually very very happy with my steak it was cooked perfectly. Shrimp was a 3 star, my friend had the shrimp, I managed to grab a few here and there and I couldn't complain. Nothing special about them but they were very good. Overall I left here happy, the service was what really did make me want to write this, 5 stars, the food was all right.

It was one of those "What the hell?" moments that brought my group to the famous Sizzler of Salem. With the knowledge that they had a salad bar and fried shrimp, I figured that we could do worse and it would likely be better than Home Town Buffet where shrimp is never guaranteed. Sizzler is, simply put, an old person joint (no offense to old people--my old man liked it a lot!). You get to order off a wall and carry a cafeteria tray to your table (unless you're disabled--then the cashier will carry it for you and do it with a smile). Our waitress was really pleasant. So much so, in fact, that I tipped even though tipping is generally not required at a buffet. I really felt that she tried hard to make us happy, and for that this place earned two stars. But the food? Meh. I've experienced better. The salad bar is not compiled of super fresh ingredients. Many of the items, lettuce included, had a 'dry' feeling. It was if the produce was not being treated fairly. The bacon bits were uber stale. The texture that resulted from the combo did not make for an enjoyable dish. The famous hot bar that was included in our meal should not be considered a hot bar at all. Only spaghetti, fried chicken wings, cold onion rings, and a nacho/taco bar were offered. Not much of a hot bar. The worst part of the meal I think was when I discovered that the olives were spoiled. Not just off--but absolutely TURNED bad. I notified the waitress and she removed them immediately. I just hope that they were tossed and not put out again later. I don't think I will return. :(

Sizzler is one of my restaurants to go to when I'm in Salem, I have never had a bad experience with them. The salad bar, has got a wide variety of choices so much so that my wife and I hardly ever buy the steaks or shrimp. The hot bar, however is a little weary as if the stuff sit out for a while it losses it's temperature. So that's sometimes is a 50/50 shot. But for the most part sizzler is a great buffet that I take any excuse to go to. And my only other complaint is there isn't an area on the bill where I can tip the waitress.

Chain restaurants seem to be all over the place in Salem, however, Sizzler still earns some style points for cranking out good steak while maintaining status as a family friendly establishment. The main entrees of the ribeye and NY strip are delicious and the sides are of good value as well. Service hasn't always been the finest, but its Sizzler, not a 5 star restaurant. Best recommended for families who want a change from the Applebees, Chevy's from all around.

Service is not the best and quality of food is not great but it is good. Lots of choices and seating with skylights and windows. I live in Hillsboro but earn ever we stop in Salem we almost always stop at the sizzler for dinner.
