This place is amazing. I was looking for some place in town to eat that was different then the usual fair, and happened to find this place tucked away. The food was absolutely delicious; I was given some Irish soda bread to start with (which was warm and fresh and absolutely delicious), and the shepherd's pie. I haven't had a really authentic shepherd's pie in ages so when I tried it I was so happy. Everything was jus so fresh and delicious, you can tell that care goes into everything. The only thing that disappoints me is the location - its downstairs and around the corner in the Reed Opera House, not exactly the best place for a company to do decent business, but I hope they survive. The whole place has a perfect 'Irish Pub' feel and it makes you feel like you're home :)

I had the shepherds pie. Amazing actually made with lamb loved it my 7 year old daughter had the bangers and mash she ate the whole thing I was surprised. The Irish whiskey bunt cake was delicious. The bistro is buried in the Reed opera house A hard to find if you don't know where to. But well worth the work of finding it.

A fantastic spot hidden away. They have exclusive irish beers on tap. When I went they had an Irish IPA which is delicious. Smooth and creamy, not punch-you-in-the-mouth hoppy. Ask for a black and gold, guinness floating on top of thr irish ipa. The owners are wonderful to talk to and have fantastic stories. The food is fantastic and I want to eat it all over again.

This is cool little bistro that is in the bottom of the reed opera house. When they served the food they warn that it's very hot and it's true! It took a couple minutes to cool down enough to start eating and it was delicious. The service was good and friendly. Both the Shepherds & Cottage pie were delicious and we will be back. Our only disappointment was that the corn beef and cabbage is only served on Friday and Saturday.

They have some awesome food! I had their shepherd's pie and my sister had the Sausage rolls. We both had irish sodas. We started with some very tasty bread, she said it was her Grandmother's recipe, which I was happy to learn since every restaurant I've been to that has used family recipes has been gooood. To my delight, the shepard's pie was delicious with very well done seasoning. It made me wish they weren't downtown so I could go there more often. I was allowed to try the sausage rolls, which were also very good and came with a delicious brown gravy to dip them in. However, I did prefer my shepherd's pie. The sodas are good too, I think a mix of club soda, real sugar, and flavoring. I left with a full stomach and very happy we stopped to try it out!

This is one of my favorites places to eat at in Salem. Every time I come to Salem for work, I always end up eating dinner or lunch here. I even brought a few customers here. Great service, great atmosphere, great food!

We went there tonight, was referred by a few colleagues and friends to check it out. At first entrance I was overcome with a feeling of home, and comfort. The owner/waitress was amazing ... words can not express how awesome she was. Service A+, Food A+++++ (there needs to be a higher grade or start for it) ... it was so good! I got the mash ... family name and secretly, great!! didn't have enough room to fit desert in maybe next time.

This place is so awesome! My hubby and I decided to be brave and try somewhere new to us, and boy were we glad we did! They are located in the cutest little spot on the lower level of the Reed Opera House. He had their new Irish Dip sandwich w/ fried cabbage and I had the Dublin Coddle - wow! Absolutely delicious. And what gracious hosts - we so enjoyed chatting with them. We will definitely be back!!

My wife and I had dinner here on a Thursday evening at about 6:15. The restaurant had been open for a month and apparently the experience gained during that month served them well. The dinner menu is very narrow but represents what would be expected in an Irish pub. There are only 5 items including colcannon, bangers and mash, Irish beef stew with Guinness, corned beef and cabbage, and shepherds pie. Each is $9.50 except the shepherds pie at $7.50. I ordered corned beef and cabbage and my wife had the bangers and mash. We were delighted with the food. The service and the food preparation were both very quick and everything was served at an appropriate temperature. The corned beef was tender and tasty and the cabbage (with carrots) was firm, slightly crunchy but thoroughly cooked, not the least mushy. The bangers were typical, not very spicy but well seasoned. The mashed potatoes were also nicely seasoned and the brown gravy was delicious. While the food menu is narrow, the beverage offering is surprisingly broad and is more reminiscent of a coffee house than an Irish restaurant. We really enjoyed the chai! Unfortunately, we were the only two customers in the restaurant while there. They deserve more customers and I will be going back.

What a local gem! This place completely blew my expectations out of the water. Intimate space in a somewhat hard to find Reed Opera House layout. A friend and I went there yesterday for a late lunch. The menu is limited, but pretty much all of it made my mouth water. I had the Irish Beef with Guinness that came with mashed potatoes, gravy, and peas. My friend had the Corned Beef and Cabbage that came with carrots and potatoes. Our meals were also complimented by Soda Bread, fresh out of the oven and it was TO DIE FOR! Both of our meals were exceptional. Comforting and homey, just as Irish food is supposed to be. We cannot wait to come back. I plan on telling all my friends about this place. Excellent work, Sisters. We'll be back!

What a delightful find. Perfect in every way. Feels like NYC minus the noise. Great food. Literally an underground vibe. Feels like discovery. Very cozy only 5 tables. Homemade desserts. Live music when we were there not at all intrusive. Rare anymore to find a true mom and pop. Very knowledgable about their craft. Need mor places like this. Wish them much success. Try the Arab coffee.

Lovely little spot tucked away in the underground on the corner of Court and Liberty right downtown. Festive atmosphere with Irish music playing. Owner and her husband are so friendly - it is rare to to get such personalized service these days. We got a custom dish - a vegetarian potato and cheese meal - and it was delicious. The soda bread was warm and filling. In fact, it was better than any food we had when we went to Ireland a few years ago! They are military and police friendly. Highly recommend you stop by and try the food here! As they say, if you're lucky enough to be Irish, you're lucky enough!

It's important to note that we were at this restaurant at 5 PM on a Thursday night, so you'd think you could order anything on this tiny menu selection at this time. We went for Bangers & Mash. They were out. They were also out of Irish Stew. This only left Corned Beef & Cabbage for anything Irish. I decided to order a turkey sandwich. Then I find out they are out if turkey. This should have been my clue to exit stage right, but I didn't. I ordered a chicken sandwich. What a fool. Things kept getting worse. My husband was almost finished with his Corned Beef and Cabbage before I got my sandwich. Then to make this even worse, my sandwich was on stale tasting Franz white bread. The service was slow and lacked basic items like a knife to spread on my mustard. My husband and I were trying to think if a time when we've had a worst dining experience than this one. I think this place is our number one dining disaster. I'd give it a zero rating, but I was afraid people would think it hasn't been reviewed.

Top notch. Great people, service, food, and atmosphere. The food is all made fresh, and by hand right there in the kitchen. Real imported Irish Bangers, not English ones, or American sausages called Bangers. The overall quality is quite high, but go there expecting Irish food, not something other.

The Bistro is about our favorite place to go for winter comfort food. We have never been disappointed by quality or quantity. The Irish Creme Ale is a real treat as is the attention to detail in the food. The ownership duo, host and hostess, doat upon you to make sure everything is just right.

This is one of our favorite places to eat in salem. Great food, warm atmosphere and the owners make you feel like family. My husband always gets their bangers and mash, I switch between shepherds pie and bantries secret. We have probably tried everything on the menu and haven't been let down by any of it. Attempt to save room for their homemade dessert. It's fantastic. Can't wait to move back so we can have our weekly dinners there again!

Wonderful traditional Irish fare. Love the Shepard Pie and the Guinness Beef Stew. Food also available for take out. Very friendly owners. Also must try their homemade deserts.

We went with family and I have to say this is one of the worst places I've been. The service was horrible and the food wasn't even seasoned. We waited an hour for food that was barely warm. I ordered a water and it took twenty minutes before I was told just to grab my own bottle because otherwise it would be forgotten. We didn't get any bread with dinner and by the time we could actually speak to the waitress she sent some bread home with us... I would never go here again.

Salem's only Irish spot! Excellent food and drinks, large portions (not complaining!) - we had the Sheppard's Pie, Colcannon, and Guiness Roast Beef, and for dessert we shared their special Whisky Bundt Cake and Oatmeal Cake. Their alcohol license is pending but coming soon! Don't take into account the first review on here (they had just opened in March so I'm sure they were experimenting with different dishes to see what people like the most), check out Facebook for the majority of Sister's reviews!

Wonderful little spot. Friendly owners. Although we are not very familiar with Irish cuisine we really enjoyed the meal.

Another great find in our first visit to Salem. Right from the start Tina and Ahmed provided great service and when we heard that the recipes were passed down from Tina's grandmother...we were eager to get eating! First they started us with some warm soda bread which was great. Then I had the traditional Irish Shepherd's Pie made with lamb and my daughter had the Irish Sausage Rolls....both were awesome! Somehow we convinced ourselves to have dessert and weren't dissapointed....both the Irish Whiskey Cake and the Chocolate Guiness Cake were delicious! Start to finish it was a great experience and we will definitely be going back!!
