Enjoyed the food here, but the service wasn't great. Waitress who took our order seemed to think we would only order one thing between the two of us, because as we added a second entree and then our drink orders, she was walking further and further from our table, just saying "OK" over and over. She didn't write our order down, which would have been fine, except we got fries when we asked for none (weren't charged though, so not too big a deal) and received cheese fries in place of chili cheese fries. My only complaint with the food would be to echo a previous reviewer and say that the 1/4 inch slab of onion that comes standard on the burger isn't for everyone, a fact which every other hamburger place I've ever been to has seemingly realized. I like some onion on my burger, but no.

This place is trying to be an old school burger house hamburger joint. It's very pricey here your other spots on the strip that'll give you at least a better Burger and do a better . somehow I wish to get it right here and I've been doing it for a long time but their parking lot you're not full as much as they were so get it right with all due respect

Went in at 8 on a Saturday night. There were a couple of other families eating. We stood in the entry for approx. 20 seconds while 4-5 workers were "busy" around the front counter. One gal didn't even bother to look at us when she said "we will get to you in a minute" at 45 seconds to a minute we were finally lead to a booth. The food was god awful. I got a baked potato with chili. The potato was microwaved the chili tasted like something I might feed to a dog. We ordered grilled cheese for my son, they used the plastic looking cheese and it wasn't even melted. His dish came with Apple slices which arrived very brown. My husband ordered chicken strips and they were also terrible. The floors were disgustingly dirty. Fries littered then floors and you could tell the tables had been moved because there were dark brown rings were they used to sit. Gross gross gross ican only imagine what the kitchen looks like. Lazy staff, gross food, you would be better off going to a fast food place it would be cheaper, cleaner, and more friendly.

So my husband and I came here tonight for Valentines Day. Romantic eh? The place was pretty busy when we got there and some other couples were there without kids but for the most part it was filled with families and elderly people. We were seated right away in a booth and our orders were taken also right away very prompt service the waitress was nice and the food was average. Great ranch dressing and awesome milkshakes

We live near-by -- so this is our Rock-n-Rogers of choice. Always friendly staff...with quick and attentive service. Food generally arrives pretty quick after ordering. The quality is typical diner fare...but they have great fries and baked potatoes. Worth a trip. They aren't open that late, so its best you come before 7pm.

My husband loves the Elvis would have loved it burger. I am a fan of the blue cheese crumble steak. The breakfast gravy is awesome! My son loves the milkshakes and the hat. Our service has been good overall. One time it was so so. We eat here regularly. Love the decor.

Went here for the first time about 2 weeks ago and had a good experience. The waitress was very nice and attentive; although, there were only 4 other occupied tables. The food was good! We had the BBQ burger and Chili burger, then a chocolate malt to end the dinner. Malt was delicious and a bigger serving than I've gotten anywhere! Now for the 2nd visit...wah wah WAHHHH..... Went there for breakfast (only because Word of Mouth had a ton of people waiting outside). We should have left once we were seated. We were seated at the back and when I looked up behind my bf's head, there were a swarm of flies/gnats hovering around. We looked around but weren't sure if everyone else was trying to ignore them or didn't care. I think we felt bad so we stayed. Breakfast was blah and I had the a/c blowing down my back so I was freezing! Our waitress didn't really check on us either. When we were done, I decided to get up and pay because I wanted OUT!!!! Don't think we'll be going back....too bad because that BBQ burger and malt were so good. I just can't eat at a place that has gnats flying around knowing that they land on the tables and who knows where else!!

On Veteran's Day, my first choice diner was jammed up the gills. Which is good, because it's a small place but has a special appreciation for Veterans, so I was glad to see that they were bustling. Still, I wanted my breakfast, so I stopped here for the first time ever. The interior is exactly what they promise. A throw-back to 50's and 60's diner decor, with an emphasis on Coca-Cola. Which works for me, because I'm a coke guy. I was seated quickly, with a menu....and then forgotten. For a long time. I watched people hustle around me and finally got in a drink order. Drank all of my drink before I got to order my food. Asked for a refill...got that quickly, and then my food came out quickly. From when I ordered it, at any rate. But the order was wrong. I didn't want gravy on my chicken fried steak, and it was covered in it. So it got taken back to be redone. My toast remained, however. I would have rather eaten that with the rest of the food, but I didn't want it cold. So I sat there eating toast. And ran out of coke, which required flagging down my waiter again to get a refill. When my food got there, it was very good, actually. Chicken fried steak was done very well, very tasty, with a good portion size. The hash browns were crisp, the eggs were excellent, and the aforementioned toast was pretty good. I still had to flag down soda refills though. I was quite thirsty and a little bored with some of the wait times, you see. When I got the bill and was ready to pay, though, service was right there. I paid instantly. My waiter apologized for the delays, so it was obviously noted. And I will say, for the size of the restaurant, there were only two wait staff, and they were constantly running about...so it wasn't any active neglect that I could tell. They weren't out smoking. The management just needs to be more cognizant of their issues and hire more waiters. But then he went and blamed it on the cooks, and said, "I'm having some problems with them." I get conspiring with the customers...but don't bad mouth the cooks who are doing the heavy lifting. That doesn't endear me to you. I see no reason to return.

Greasy Spoon. If you want extra extra grease just order a tuna melt and fries. I'm sure you're probably right in imagining that to know how greasy that is, I must have ordered it. I did. I was fulfilling a need. I was regretful for many days and remain so now, these many months later. Everything was just more coated in oil and butter (and lard??) than was necessary or even tasty. Why the two stars?? Because they had AMAZING milkshakes and there were dozens of different kinds from which to order. MMMmmmm. Diner-goodness at its best.

This is a long review but I come here way too often to not review. The only reason why I even come here is because its the only place in South Salem (besides sloooowwww Sherri's) to get breakfast, lunch, and dinner food. I come here for our management meetings every Monday afternoon. First of all, it always takes at least 10 mins to get our drink order. And about half the time, someone gets the wrong drink. Theres only 4 of us so it seriously can't be too hard to remember 4 drinks. Its always the manager guy working for some reason. I am guessing because they are ridiculously short staffed. The last couple times I have been there it has just been him waiting tables in a full restaurant. He forgets things ridiculously often. The past couple times, it has only been us there. With maybe a table or two. And it took almost 45 mins to get our food for four people. Absolutely ridiculous. And of course, something was wrong. There always is. Every time, someones food is wrong or they forgot to add something or the cheese is still on the burger, etc... last week, I ordered a burger with Swiss instead of Cheddar. Of course, they didn't do it. I hate cheddar. So I asked them to remake it. All they did was slap on a piece of Swiss over the cheddar and called it good. Um... NO! I was PISSED! So all in all, the service absolutely sucks. The manager blames everyone else but himself even though his store is suffering because of him. Service sucks, cooks are absolutely ridiculously slooowwwwww, manager is absolutely terrible. The only reason I give this place a two star is because on the rare times that our order is right and served at a decent time, the food is excellent. The veggie omelette is amazing. All in all, if I didn't have to go here for manager meetings, I would never come here again.

Used to be a regular customer, but probably won't return. Entire staff was new (what few there were, as it was a skeleton crew - one waitress and one hostess/coffee person). They looked like deer in headlights, as if they were hired on the spot and winging it. Both of our orders were completely wrong but we didn't say anything out of a desire to just pay and leave. Plus, they've stopped taking their own coupons, which they used to issue regularly, making it a great value. Now the food is overpriced for what you get. We'll miss going there, but it's their own fault. New owners, perhaps? Good luck!

Went on a Saturday at 1PM and ended up eating one of the worst chili-burgers of my life. The patty was cooked to a point of absolute dryness, the chili came out of a can and had little to no meat in it and very little beans as well. Overall the cheese used had no flavor and the bun was very obviously of low quality. The onions were chopped VERY largely as well so I couldn't get a bite of it in each fork full. My wife had the nacho burger and ended up throwing it up later today. The gentleman who served us took our order relatively quickly but did not explain that we would be charged for a side of dipping sauce for the fries that come with the meal. Also nearly $3 for a soda is pushing it pretty hard. After receiving our meal nobody ever came by again to refill our drinks or check on how we were enjoying our meal. I had to flag down the bus girl in order to get refills to our drinks. We will not be returning.

The burgers here are pretty good. Nice and greasy and juicy with thousand island, lots of lettuce and way too much onion. Just pull off what you don't want. My only issue with the burger is that they put the pickle slices on the side instead of in the burger. Since you can't risk disassembling this tower of food to get it in there, you have to take a bite of pickle and then a bite of burger to get the flavor. Not such a big deal, but, you know. The fries are ok. They're hand cut and made so they're ultra greasy and not crispy. If you like that sort of thing, you're in luck. I'm so-so on it. Take out is pretty slow. Even if you order ahead of time, you'll end up waiting for a while which is pretty annoying because there's not much to do but stare at old memorbilia from a time way before me. And is that stuff all authentic, or what?

All you need to know is this: one time we were here, and asked the waitress "how's the lasagna?", and her answer was "ya like Stouffer's?" (picture a sassy sitcom waitress with her hand on her hip and a pencil behind her ear)

Ate here last week -- service slow and not anticipating my needs. Being fair, there was only one server, okay food. But only go if you have time to wait.

AWFUL SERVICE!!!!! They were pretty busy when we first arrived, so the manager on duty was taking tables. He didn't greet us for almost 10 minutes, and when he did, his approach was this, "are you ready?" NOT, "sorry for your wait....how are you...?" So we ordered our food. About 25 minutes later it was brought out cold. My boyfriend's coffee was empty, and the manager said he would return with syrup. 5 minutes later, I had to flag down the hostess for the syrup. Another server was walking by with a coffee pot, so I assumed she would fill his cup up. She looked at his cup, then looked at me and kept walking. We sat there for 30 minutes without being talked to once we got our food. At this point, they had died down. The manager (who was our server) was piddlin' around wiping tables and picking up his tips--obviously no longer busy. Finally, we had to say something and our food was taken care of. The manger's excuse was that it was busy and people were a step behind all day. The thing is...we both have worked as servers before, and I know the signs for forgetting about a table. How about not lying, and making BS excuses, especially when you're supposed to be the leader of the place? Awful awful awful. Will never return.

This was a solid "Meh". So-so burger. So-so fries. So-so service. I like the Caddy on the sign. I might order to go, but don't think I would dine in again.

I visited the Rock n Rogers at 3315 Commercial SE for breakfast on April 17. Flies buzzed around my head as I asked the waitress to please wipe the table clean from lost of syrup from the previous customer. She grinned and said " Must have been a kid sitting there." as she wiped about 1/2 the mess away and then sauntered off. The food was good a salways, but why the mess and bugs? i should mention that I had a great meal the week before at the new Rock n Rogers overlooking the Willamette River in West Salem.

Not bad for a "greasy spoon", but not great either. Food is generally good, with a nice variety. Prices vary from good to slightly on the high side, depending on what you order, and the service is kind of hit-and-miss. When we're in the mood for this kind of food we come here with reasonable expectations and thus aren't let down. If we're looking for a higher quality meal and nice experience, we go elsewhere.

Well we were very surprised when we got our food. The portions were big, the home-fries hot and crispy, we ordered over medium on the eggs and they came over medium. the pancakes are huge and fluffy. the sausage links were great. keep up the good work. i highly recommend it.
