We visited this restaurant after sampling food at.the World beat Festival in Salem OR. The restaurant is very clean, bright and inviting with glass covered white tablecloths. We ordered the Salt and Pepper.shrimp, Singapore Mai fun, Drunken noodles, spicy girl and the eel roll. For an appetizer we had the steamed.buns with duck. The appetizer came out promptly served in a small bamboo streamer basket. The buns were soft.and contained a.slice of duck skin, duck meat, scallions and plum sauce as you would eat Peking duck. For the price I would have liked to have had more of the crispy skin and meat.and.less scallions and sauce but they did mention that a lot of people had ordered it that day. The Singapore Mai fun was good but I prefer more curry and heat. The Salt and Pepper shrimp was very good..a reminder of home..I will definitely order it again. In addition to Pad Thai and Drunken noodles, I wish they offered chow mein (tomato beef) or won ton noodles. The owners are very nice and service was great. I will definitely go back to try other items on the menu.

We had a mishap with the delivery but they wanted to make sure we were happy which was nice. We received a healthy discount and the food was yummy! A little heavy on the avacado but good sushi none the less!

I love the Mochi in the restaurant. I also recommend the crispy calamari and cold tofu. If you are a guest who would like some special Chinese dishes in different provinces just ask them!!!

Came for a midweek late lunch. The decor is very Asian and bright with cherry tree and bamboo murals, shiny white tablecloths and white modern lamps hanging low over every table. The menu has a mix of Japanese (incl sushi) and Chinese items, including some less common ones in the appetizer section like buns with duck meat. Miso soup came first, it was fine but a bit light on the flavor, seemed like it was lacking salt. My salt and pepper shrimp with light breading was really crispy and tasty and nicely seasoned - but keep in mind the shrimp weren't peeled and had their heads on, so if that's not your thing beware! I didn't care and I ate them whole. My partner got orange chicken, I tried a bit. It was fine good quality meat and breading, but like the soup the sauce also lacked some flavor, this time sweetness (but on the plus side, the sauce had a natural dark orange/brown color, not fake bright yellow like you see at a lot of places). Both dishes came with plain rice and an iceberg salad with ginger sesame dressing on the same plate. Service was quick and attentive. The location is a bit inconvenient, it's a little shopping center off of Mission st which has bad traffic at busy times, and exiting back to Mission forces you to go east (left turn not allowed). But you can avoid Mission entirely if you use 23rd instead which comes in from the south. Overall this place seems fine, but there are other teriyaki/sushi places in town that are a little better - and easier to get to.

Great sushi and noodles! Family owned local business. Everything uis made fresh with great attention to detail and the best ingredients. If you're going for lunch and in a hurry call order in ahead as making things from scratch takes time. Everything we've tried has been great and very reasonably priced. Try it, you'll love it!

I came back again because it was sooooooo good the first time. This time I had the Pad Thai.... the best I've ever had! It was hot and fresh, jam packed with flavor! If you have not tried Oishi yet, pack up the car and bring the family out! It is well worth the trip!

I'm not sure where Bob V went but it could not have been here. The food was wonderful. Very fresh. I had a great experience here. Waitstaff very friendly. I have a new favorite place for Asian and its name...Oishi.

Best sushi I have had in Salem. Friendly helpful staff and clean, pleasant atmosphere. Tried the angry dragon roll-- so good and made with fresh king crab! The tempura sweet potato roll and California roll were very good as well. Everything tastes fresh and it shows that they care about quality. I will definitely be back...with friends!

The menu is plentiful. The food is delicious. The pricing is exceptional. Unknowingly, I ordered way too much food. All great and very nicely priced. Enjoy!

The food was very fresh and absolutely wonderful. Full of flavor and the server was very nice (broken English but tried his best to please). Prices are fair and if you compare to another place such as love love it os very comparable but the food here seems fresher. I had the Korean beef and it was exactly what I expected. No fatty pieces of beef either. Bob V must like greasy oily mess when he eats because it was perfect. My mom had the pad thai and said the noodles were perfect and it had fresh veggies. The only thing is he brought the appatizer after the entree but made up for it by putting an extra spring roll on the plate. He also gave us watermelon slices as a sweet treat. I would recommend this to anyone who likes fresh food.

Clean, quite, cheap. The service was good, as was the food for the price. Seems like a local business that could use more patrons.

The food was ok, but it took 15 minutes to get a bubble tea. Then 10 minutes later I got my food and about 15 more minutes to get my parents food. They totally forgot about the food my brother got and they took 30 minutes with the other bubble tea. The cook was yelling at the server. We didn't really enjoy it and wouldn't go back again.

No, it was there that I ate. Robert P. , and I stick by my original review. Me and my Asian wife eat at Asian places a lot. Her Pad Thai (expensive) came out and the noodles were under cooked and chewy. Sorry, that is the way that it was for us, and the acid test is if we would go back, and the answer is no. There are other Asian places in town that represent a far greater value.

We enjoyed going to this restaurant for its foods and friendly service. Dishes we tried were Hibachi filet mignon vegetables fried rice, chicken vegetables, pork buns, pot stickers, spring rolls, cold tofu. They were all very tasty and delicious. The ambience was very pleasant and cozy with the cherry blossom mural on the wall and beautiful lighting.

I've been here a couple of times now, and every time I try something different, I am always very satisfied. My favorite dish would definitely be the Pad Tai. If you have a chance, you should definitely go.

We had a wonderful time at Oishi. I ordered the sushi combo with spicy tuna and tempura sweet potato rolls. I also substituted a seaweed salad for the regular green salad. All of it was excellent, especially the sweet potato rolls. The waitstaff was so attentive and even brought us a mango cake at the end.

Delicious, just like its name claims. The decor of the restaurant was a pleasant surprise with pale blue walls and a beautiful cherry tree mural. The service was very attentive, kind and provided excellent suggestions. For the $8.95 I spent, I received a warm bowl of miso soup (standard, perhaps, but certainly satisfying), and 16 pieces of sushi of my choice. It was fresh and beautifully presented. At the conclusion of the meal, we were given mango cake! What a great experience! I'll be back again very soon!
