Remodeled with a modern style and beautiful view of the golf course! New chef with new menu!!! Ahi tuna dinner is amazing!!! Tri-tip fries are mouth watering! The wraps are huge! Nachos are mountainous! The wait staff are very friendly! Oh let's not forget the fabulous deserts!!! Molten lava chocolate cake with a side of ice cream!!!! a nice variety from grill food to fine dining!!! Definitely a new and improved dining option!

My mother found this almost-hidden spot (well, hidden from the general non-golf club membership having populous of Salem). Food has been consistently pretty fair the few times we've been here (but I've only ever ordered the burger and fries). The young people serving the drinks have been rather ignorant of the proper attributes of a good bartender. The first time, my mother ordered a Irish Coffee, after a bit of a wait the young person had to come out and ask what an Irish Coffee was and how to make it. The second visit my husband ordered a Scotch, neat. After a moment of blank look, a different young person asked what a Scotch, neat was. Thankfully, my order of a beer has yet to be been messed up. For dessert, the apple pie on a hot skillet is very good.

We tried the Lakeview Restaurant at the Creekside Golf Course first for lunch, a month or two ago. Lana rated her hamburger very good. The restaurant offers a full bar, a view of sorts (of the golf course), and upscale, quiet surroundings where it's actually easy to converse with whomever you are having lunch with. My lunch was mediocre and the desserts were a miss; still, we'd give it four stars for lunch. Just stick with the hamburgers. The real test is dinner. Lunches are easy and hamburgers are a staple. If a restaurant cannot produce good lunches and hamburgers, it may as well fold its tent. So, we went back for dinner. Lana tried the sirloin steak. "Tender," the menu bragged. It wasn't; it was tough. I tried the "Traditional" pot roast. It wasn't, either. Traditional pot roast is an inexpensive, fatty cut that, once roasted as it should be, falls apart on the fork. This was a very solid, very lean cut, about half an inch thick instead of the inch or inch-and-a half that a traditional pot roast should be. Like the sirloin, it was hard to cut and a tough chew. In addition, it was dry, dry, dry. It appeared to have been cooked to death. We took half of it home, where Lana cut it into small chunks and boiled it for over an hour, hoping to make a stew of it. No way. Nothing would moisturize or tenderize that cut of meat. She threw it out. The mashed potatoes were lumpy. Lakeview chefs apparently have not yet heard about Ore-Ida packaged mashed potatoes. They're quick and easy to make and very good. Creekside's mashed potatoes apparently involve some effort and they are not good. The vegetable was steamed broccoli. I thought it tasted of fish; Lana thought it tasted sour. We both wondered how you screw up steamed broccoli. I foolishly braved another dessert. An apple pie. In my opinion, a good apple pie has a lot of cinnamon and a great crust, and is accompanied by a thick slice of Tillamook Reserve Extra Sharp yellow cheddar cheese. This pie, I was told, came with caramel sauce poured over it. Strange, but I'm always willing to try something different. What I didn't understand was that the preparation was an attempt to imitate the flash of sizzling rice in a Chinese restaurant. The pie came on a very hot iron skillet (resting on wood) and too much caramel was poured over it so that it sizzled. The result was a pie surrounded by a shallow sea of boiling caramel and a crust that was burned on the bottom. Bizarre, and not good. No cinnamon, either. The dinner wasn't terrible, just very poor. Had it cost half as much, I'd have rated it a solid two stars. But with a bottle of wine and the tip -- the waitresses were eager to please us -- the bill was just over one hundred dollars. For that amount of money, this is a one-star restaurant, but only for dinner. Since I give dinners twice the weight of lunches, the four-star lunch could not pull Creekside above two stars.

What a secret gem . . Many people think this is a private club . It is a public restaurant and top notch to boot. We had. a private banquet that was the best Salem has to offer. Great dinner specials... New creative chef,

We have eaten here several times and always have great service and wonderful food. The view out over the golf course and hills is nice.
