The inside has a vintage feel to it, right down to the tables and chairs. It's not usually my first choice on decor or ambiance, but the cheerful staff more than made up for that. I was also delighted to find out that one of the workers (Summer) follows my blog and my Facebook. I guess after doing this for over a year in Oregon -- plus getting stupid/silly on YouTube videos -- you're bound to be noticed in a lot of places. I started with a tall cup of coffee, a house blend with a darker roast aura to it. This panda loves a bold, strong, dark-roasted coffee, and this one was pretty darn good. Maybe I'd want it a bit stronger, but then again, I'm one abnormal person that would probably singlehandedly keep Salem weird. There's a full espresso bar, if you want a nice caffeine fix. I ordered the Kimmie's Chicken Caesar Panini ($7.95). Rounded toasted foccacia encased grilled chicken, Caesar dressing, provolone, tomatoes, and bacon. No Romaine lettuce here, apparently, although I'm sure I could have added it if I so chose. After all, this was gonna get toasted up, so warm lettuce probably isn't ideal. It was a darn good sandwich, foccacia being a fine bread choice for a panini. It was warm to the touch, with that pleasing crunchy exterior. Admittedly, the starch couldn't contain the yummy goodness that sandwich possessed. Also, the bacon looked rather small and appeared to resemble something similar to microwaved meat crack. Overall, I can't complain about the meal. The sandwich was delicious, the accompanying chips were crunchy, and the dill pickle spear is simply an auto win. FYI, you can thank my mom for making me a dill pickle lover. You can make your own sandwiches or paninis, if you like to get creative. A nice touch that caters to the customer's preferences. Break Point sells at least five types of 5 oz. cookies, which are certainly larger than your average circular treat. They also have various other cookies and pastries that would be ideal for a sugary breakfast pit stop. Finally, the cakes here are roughly six layers tall. Basically, a small slice would be enough for the average person, but don't be surprised if a sugary panda goes on a cake bender and orders more. Just the sweets in this place could make an epic food video! Another note: they sell gluten-free cakeballs, smartly isolated away from the gluten-filled products. This is a pretty good place to go. It's not epic mind-blowing, but it's clearly more than just A-OK. And that's still a good thing. Head on over and try this place out!

The food is always stellar and it's half a block away from where I work, so I go daily. I always get tiger chai in The morning and coffee in the afternoon. Their lunches can sometimes be a little spendy if you get a whole sandwich instead of half, but I've never once regretted paying it. Try the Turkey Dinner sandwich, scones, and their daily specials. You won't regret it! Now it's time to hit the road to get that chai.

Went here twice this last week. They always know who I am and what I like. Very personable and friendly. I love their iced tea and I have them water it down a smidge.

delicious coffee every time!

IMO the best coffee in town. And the service is tops! A every weekday morning stop for me.

Break point is my neighborhood coffee joint. It's across the street from the much more corporate/straight-from-the-minigolf-links Dutch Brothers' drive through, and I like to give the local guys the benefit of the doubt. The drip coffee is pretty basic, served from carafes in the corner. It's not super fresh (like Peets coffee tends to be) but it wasn't gas station stale either. The shop serves food (sandwiches and cake seem to be big sellers) but I have only tried the coffee so far. Break Point attracts a regular crowd -- the barristas seem to know many of the customers. It also attracts a lot of police. I've been there three different mornings, and I've always seen two or three cops in uniform, which leads me to believe it's a good post-graveyard shift hangout. I only wish the shop were more comfortable. Tables are small, chairs are hard, and a muted TV is always tuned to CNN. These details lead the place to feel a bit sterile - not the kind of place you'd go to lounge around and chat with your friends. Some rugs or upholstered chairs would be nice to absorb some of the sound and make the place feel warmer. Still, it's close, there's free wifi, and the servers seem nice enough. I'll probably be back.

I adore this place. More for the food. They deliver. Nuff said. The sunflower and cream cheese turkey sandwich is to die for. It comes with a dill pickle spear (in a baggie) and a mint. The quality of the food is excellent and super fresh.

Had a turkey sandwich. Meat and vegetables were fresh. Nothing spectacular but enjoyable nonetheless.

I was very impressed with this coffee shop. The owner's obviously take a lot of pride in their store. The service was very friendly; the coffee was great, it had a nice ambiance, the dessert was awesome and it has a drive thru!

One of the better coffee shops in town. Location, service and food are the bomb! Great Job

Love breakpoint! Great coffee, tea, speciality drinks. They have non-dairy options. Pastries are wonderful, and they have cake balls in addition to quick lunch service inside. Breakpoint has an onsite little free library and is a locally owned coffee shops with a drive through. The staff make my kids a small drink with whipped cream and nothing else in it, just the way they like it. Also, the customers are great, people regularly pay it forward by giving 2 dollars to the next car in the drive through. Breakpoint is great!

Mediocre coffee coupled with awful service, almost as if how dare I enter their establishment. Snobby and rude. Asked for their manager, said he would call. Never contacted me. That's good business, and an even better manager. You're better off seeking coffee from a dive deli serving Folgers with Spam on rye.

If you're craving some coffee before work, this is the place to visit. Dutch Brothers is literally across the street from this place and it is always packed. Honestly, I'd prefer to come here instead. The coffee is just as good and the service isn't too bad as well.I love the "happy hour" deals as well ($2 for drinks)! I rated this at four stars because I've only had their fabulous coffee. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area!

This is a cute lil' drive through and I'm all for supporting local business, but they do not serve quality coffee! Come on; it's the pacific NW, there is no excuse for that...and then the employees fibbed and said they source their coffee from a "local Eugene, OR based roaster called Pacifica," when I asked--looked it up--doesn't exist. That being said the employees are sweet, even if they are either "uninformed" (or storytellers) ;). Anyway, thank goodness for Broadway Coffee house, Urban Grange, Crema Coffee Boutique, and Coffee in Motion...just wish there were more non-corporate coffee drive-thru establishments that serve organic or at least local quality coffee in this area! :) (Guess I've been a lil spoiled since I've lived up in Portland until now :p)

I really needed to stay awake and was craving a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte. Since there wasn't one in my near area to stop by, and I really didn't want Dutch Bros because it's disgusting, I remembered Break Point was close. Yay! So glad I stopped by! I was greeted sincerely at the window with a warm smile and saw that they had a Pumpkin Pie Latte available. Thought it would be worth a try. Oh my gosh! It was perfect! What I loved most about it was that it wasn't super thick and overpowering flavor like Starbucks can be. I will be sure to stop in again when I am in the area.

I like Break Point a lot. The drive through is always quick, the baristas are all cute and friendly (and by now know my order by heart), and the baked goods are delicious. I like that they still have frequent-drinker punch cards too. Their prices are better than Starbucks, and the coffee is far better. No major reason for four-vs-five stars other than that it's good, not spectacular. Oh, and a large coffee is a dollar cheaper (a buck rather than two) if you bring your own to-go mug!

Good coffee and pastries. Beware of fox news constantly on TV though.
