This is the worst teriyaki food my husband and i have ever had. He never doesn't finish his food and tonight he couldn't eat it because it's so bad. We also waited over 30 minutes for our food and we ordered it to go. People who had bigger orders and got there after we did who got there food before we did. We will never be going here again!

Yuck. I wish I could give zero stars. We were passing through Salem and just wanted some good food. This is not it. I got the beef teriyaki. Now, beef teriyaki is typically a char-broiled piece of decent beef served over rice with teriyaki sauce. What you get here is fatty shaved beef that has been boiled, then served dry with rice. The sauce was served on the side, and it was very generic. The salad was OK, so I ate that and the rice. The beef went into the garbage - it was that bad. This shouldn't be called teriyaki, it's more comparable to pet food... except I wouldn't even give it to my dog.

The food here is cheap, the atmosphere is cheap, the quality is fairly good. If you want the same kind of food (rice bowls and noodle dishes), I'd just head down the street to Soba (383 State Street). And you'll get way better food in a nice atmosphere.

History 3-4 years, 5-7? visits The Ups - Friendly service. - Generally clean, but maybe a little on the well used side (though they seem to be making some updates here and there). - Consistent experience(s). - Decent teriyaki, and food in general. I almost always get the basic chicken entree, which consists of (inside a typical 3 part to-go box) 2 or 2 1/2 palm-sized pieces of grilled chicken breast, two large balls of rice, and simple mixed veggies. I've also eaten the the fried rice and BBQ rib entree. The first is ok, but not especially tasteful. The BBQ rib is also good, but skimpy (thin, bone-in slices of beef). The Downs - A little slow, but that may be more the impression (right or wrong) of fast food. Location Strip mall on the corner of Lancaster Dr and Cypress, north of the Olive Garden. 2.5-3.25 Stars ---------------- How I rate - I try to be a tolerant, patient, and polite person. I do not exaggerate and I believe that very few experiences rate in the extreme (almost never a 1 or 5). Definitely a carnivore but otherwise not picky. No allergies.

I ordered a regular teriyaki. They used cabbage instead of lettuce for their salad, so it didn't feel fresh. The rice was okay, hard to mess that one up. It was their chicken meat... It was unsavory, hard to chew, meaning hard to swallow. I swear the teriyaki sauce was store bought.

The only reason to eat here is if you're already very close by, and you're very hungry and can't last the trip to someplace else. Utterly forgettable mediocre food, but at least it's cheap. I didn't think it was particularly dirty inside at least!

I went to Silverton High School, and back then, I remember my classmates speeding into Salem during lunchtime to go to this place. My question is: why? My husband and I are Teriyaki fans and have tried several places in Salem and elsewhere, and I have to say that this place is my LEAST favorite one. The place looks a little grungy, the employees look half-asleep and slightly annoyed at the customers for existing, The food takes a long time to get and it's just not good! My chicken was burned and rubbery. Bleh. Go to one of the Love Love locations, Jay's Teriyaki (pretty much right across the street), or Teriyaki Diner--or really anywhere else in town. This place is just not worth it!

If mediocre food that for the most part is regurgitated frozen meats and veggies from Costco isn't enough to steer clear, the absolutely HORRIBLE service will definitely do the trick! This "restaurant" that is run by non-english speaking, GED dropouts makes constant and easy mistakes to your order, but in no way try to make it right to earn your return business. Not even an apology is given from the perfume-drenched, sad excuse for a cashier girl. Instead she just scoffs at the fact that you wanted your food correct, the first time. "You mean to tell me we forgot to place crucial dishes in your to-go bag? Well it's been sitting here on our dirty table growing bacteria. Your welcome." Instead, take your tastebuds to love-love Teryaki, just a few blocks south of this outhouse. Great food AND great service!

No bueno. Chicken was tough and tasteless. Noodles were a taste not found in nature and nothing seemed fresh. Waive off!!

This place was horrible. We placed our order and looked for a place to sit. All seats were filthy dirty. Once we sat down, we waited 30 minutes for our food. I even went up to see what the wait was for, as I saw many others sitting around me with the same look of inpatients on there faces. Once the food came out, it was not satisfactory. The chicken was fatty. The noodles were mooshy. Very disappointed overall. My 5 year old daughter and my wife also commented on the ladies room being disgustingly dirty. I use Yelp all the time, but have never joined the site to leave a comment. This experience left me feeling it was my duty to tell others how my experience was. Bryan

I first tried this Best Teriyaki location years ago (over 10 years, yikes) and it was very busy. We revisited today (5 pm on a Wednesday) and there were no other customers when we entered. By the time we finished ordering, three customers had come in. I wonder if business has slowed down that much or if this location gets much busier on the weekends? We received a very friendly smile and good service from the Korean woman at the counter when we ordered a beef teriyaki plate to go. The food is passable for a semblance of beef teriyaki. For example, if you had a real beef teriyaki plate from Hawaii, took a picture of it then photocopied the picture, then this Beef Teriyaki plate would be like the photocopy of the picture. It kind of gave me an idea of what Beef Teriyaki was like. If I squinted and tilted my head to the right.

I can't say that Best Teriyaki is the "best teriyaki" place in town, but it is pretty good. Compared to Love Love Teriyaki, the atmosphere and the overall quality doesn't really stand up. But the best thing that Best Teriyaki has going for it is it's longevity. I remember eating here when I was a teenager. The food was good then and it is good now. They are pretty good with consistency concerning their food quality and their lunch and dinner special choices. There seems to be a lot of regulars that go there, so I'm sure they like to keep things pretty much the same. If you're looking for a good teriyaki place with reasonably priced food, this is it. And although it's good, it's definitely not the best...

Ive been to only a few teriyaki places.....but so far ive liked this one the best. Its fairly affordable and taste good. It appears they make their own hot sauce and its pretty awesome tasting. Not very fast on the presentation so if your on a short lunch break or in a hurry may want too look elsewere. Other then that this place is decent.

Uninspired. Anyone giving 5 stars is probably connected with the owners or something similar. Best it is not. Sorry.
