A bit of a dive honestly but in a nice neighborhood get there on foot kind of way, three pool tables, some slot machines, awesome poker nights that draw great crowds of fun people and the bartenders are always really nice even though a lot of them rotate in and out because they quit or whatever but honestly what I like the most is around midnight I will drop in to get jalapeño poppers and a soda! I love those things and usually the bartender has to go in the back to make them so fill your glass up first, but they are so yummy! The owner is also very nice & the owner is a friendly guy to talk to if he is around. I have some very sexy stories to tell about this place but I cannot dive holds on yelp but if you run into me ask and I'll tell! For starters for the bar, service and poppers and a fifth star for the great stories! OK, one particular story that came to mind when I woke up this morning that is worth tellling! One night in July I was feeling really ornery and naughty and just wanted to do something daring and corageous and memorable. I just had one of those "Let's party like a rock star bitches," moments, so I got on craigslist and put up an ad that basically said something along the lines of "come down to 501, I will be there for the 3-4 hours, I will buy you drinks and we will talk and have some laughs, I'll buy. If we hit it off then we will jump in a taxi, go catch the HUT out to PDX and hop a flight to Vegas for the night and party like it's 1999 or do the whole weekend, whateva's cleva!" I went in to 501 and the bartender was surprised at my posting and asked if I was serious and was like, "hell fukking yeah I am!" "This is how we do," adds Katy Purry. So she said that was a sweet offer and after an hour or so, no one replied. We were both surprised so she told me about Tinder, so I downloaded the app and gave it a whirl. No bueno, still no reply. This went on all night, not one single reply. As a matter of fact, no reply for 3 weeks except some chic from China looking for an American husband! No thanks. If anyone has ever seen my wedding band on my hand it is on my middle finger, which means fuk marriage. So anyway, my point is, and I think I have one, this town can be a major bore sometimes. It's so lackluster and not very many people are very adventurous. In Los Angeles or Santa Barbara, where I am from, if I posted an ad like that, my phone would have been blowing up with exciting, fly by the seat of your pants women and a few dudes even looking to have their next adventure. Wake up Salem women! Check your chest for a heartbeat, defrost ice princesses. I feel like I am on an episode of iZombie up in here. However, the bright spot of the night was the bartender who was very cute and very friendly, sorry but don't remember her name, just that she was slender with short light brown hair and a mellow demeanor kept me company and was very fun to chat with. Actually, I have not met a bartender their yet who was not cute and friendly. The owner has good taste in women, I can tell you that. Jen is absolutely adorable and one night she was feeling courageous and in the moment, so she swooped me up after work and took me to Cheetah's to introduce me to all the sexy pussy cats of the exotic assortment and we roared, dumped a grip of cash, went crazy like adults, and parted ways laughing about it! Stelar moment!!!! Also the cook, who is there many nights moonlighting as the bartender is a very mellow and laid back dude, always friendly, so there it is, I said, I feel vindicated!!!

The food is good and priced fair. Occasionally the cook is the waiter and bartender, so the wait can be a little longer than what one can expect when there is more staff. Typically pretty clean. Multiple tv's - usually playing different shows while the JukeBox is playing music way to loud for the number of people present. I like it anyways - you might too.
