Good smooth stout to go with the Quantum Leap sandwich. Nice place to stop. Pleasant server. Reasonable prices.

We decided to drive from Ashland to Roseburg via Crater Lake and were starving when we found this in our guidebook. Soooo good. We hit the 3-6 happy hour and got cajun tots and fries for $2 each as apps. Their fruit beers (notably the amazing Ruby) are on special this week for Oregon Craft Beer Month at $4 a pint! We did the Ruby with the Quantum sandwich - pulled pork, jalapenos, smoked mozzarella, and fried onions. I was stuffed at the end and would've been happy with a side salad post appetizers as the one that came with my sandwich was excellent. We hope to return. Service was fast and on the ball as well!

This Mcmenemins has good food, great beer and a cool ambiance with their renovations done to this old Train Station. They always do great fun renovations and its a great place to stop by if your driving through.

I had a wonderful dinner here with my family while on our way home from a weekend in San Fransisco! Our server Amy was so friendly and helped me pick out the perfect t shirt after completing the photo scavenger hunt for my McMenamin's passport. I ate the tuna melt for dinner and it did not disappoint!

My partner and I stopped here en route to Seattle and were both pleasantly surprised by the delicious food, prompt service, good price and warm atmosphere. Everything that we ordered was freshly prepared as ordered and delicious. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. The Cajun tots are an awesome addition to anything that you order. My partner ordered the beer sampler and was impressed by the flavors. The great atmosphere and excellent service will mean that if we are ever in the area, we will return.

On a road trip we decided to stop here for the night just to go to the Roseburg Station. We are glad we did! We loved the wine flights and beer samplers. The food was great with several veggie options and amazing desserts. Our server was great as well. Definitely recommend!

We decided to try the pub for dinner after fishing the Rogue River. Our waitress talked us into the chicken mole burrito. It was very good. The pumpkin mole almost scared me away but i tried it and it was great. I had the porter and it was excellent. The food could have been a little hotter hence 4 stars. However, the service was outstanding. Ask for Becca, she was the best.

Needed a place for dinner on the way through Oregon and found this spot on Yelp! Beer was great and the cajun tots were yummy! Otherwise the food was underwhelming and took forever to arrive. To be fair, our waiter warned us that the kitchen was backed up, but there was no going elsewhere after we finally arrived here.

No tax in Oregon which made tipping such a difficult task! My iPhone wiped out a few weeks ago thus that is why I do not have that tip calculator. I wanted to treat his mom out since she was so nice to drive 3 hours + (6 hours picking us up due to traffic), opened up her home to my monster and I, and basically showered me w/ love and food (haha). We stopped by here after a quick visit to Colliding Rivers and a brief hike. We have hella leftovers in the fridge from Thanksgiving but somehow we made the decision to eat out - which was fine by me so we got in and was immediately greeted by a very intimate setting. The menu is not extensive.. but the typical soups, salads, burgers, and fried goodness for appetizers... I find the place rather inexpensive yet expensive at the same time. Our order of "voodoo" wings was a joke and for $10.95, I was expecting awesomeness. It was not spicy, not one bit! Nevertheless I cleaned it up w/o a problem. His mom ordered the salad and soup combination which seemed to be a hit. The soup available was either clam chowder or a chipotle something, something.. he and I shared a Portland Dip - turkey w/ grilled mushrooms, Swiss cheese, and secret sauce on a French roll and garlic jus. The tater tots (choice between fries, green salad, and soup) is what you would expect out of a bag from the frozen food section. The sandwich itself was bland and dry despite the melted cheese. There wasn't enough cheese (to me) and the jus was extremely salty. I started to dip my half of the sandwich in bleu cheese (it came w/ the wings) and ranch (came w/ the tater tots). I also ordered fries for the monster. Our server was young and did his best.. friendly and I appreciate his effort to refill our beverages. I love it when servers do that because it's a pain for me to ask for refills. Hmmm, we in America are so spoiled, haha. After our ever-so-fattening meal here (I had 99% of the tots, 99% of the fries, half of my sandwich and I think part of his, too and 90% of the wings) - I enjoyed my very first pumpkin (I don't do pumpkins ever) cheesecake and I must say.. I missed out for over 30 freaken' years!

It's a brewery with awesome beer, wine and spirits, that serves food by overworked, understaffed servers. It serves it's purpose, don't expect much outside the bar stuff - 'nuff said. Some nights are better than others - totally inconsistent. Try the ale or winery sampler if it's your first time.

This place is usually crowded, because it's that good! I really love the food here, they are very creative and have some very nice wait service! The atmosphere is great and very comfortable. Be prepared to wait on your service however, since it's usually so full the poor chef is probably nearly ready to have a heart attack by the end of the night. Highly recommend if you are in the area. :)

I had the fortune of meeting one of the McMenamin brothers about thirteen years ago at an event at Edgefield. One of my first comments to him was "Dude, love your restaurants, but why is the service so slow in ALL of them?" He laughed but never really answered my question. I just think its McMenamins style, they are slow. So knowing that my husband and I don't go to one when we're in a hurry. We stopped here on our way back to Portland from Medford. It was fairly easy to get to from Hwy 5. I thought the service was fine and the food hit the spot. No surprises either way for us. We make this journey a lot so we will surely go back. Great beers, scratch soups and dressings, varied and tasty pub food, fresh salads.

Wow, the black widow Stout is a very strong! As always, impressed with the beer selection. I have the Col. mustard chicken sandwich, and it was actually really good! I usually get the same thing on the menu every time but this time I ventured out. The chicken was moist and succulents and the combination of sauces was superb. I finished off with the Chris cringle beard which is a nice winter ale, mildly hobby with a strong ABV percentage. Cajun tots are a must! This is my first time yelping on the Roseburg station, but it's probably my 20th time having dinner here! As always, I will considered one of the nicer restaurants to go to for dinner and Roseburg

I would give zero stars if that was an option. On a road trip through Oregon to Portland we were so excited to see a Mcmenamins on our way around dinner time. About 5 minutes after we sat ourselves as the sign instructed, a waiter comes by and asks us if we wanted a drink to start and before we were able he interrupted us to list all of the food they were out of which was almost everything on he menu but the burgers. He then tells us that i we do order food it would take an hour and a half and they closed in an hour and a half. When we asked where we could go for food he and another employee were less than helpful and said all the restaurants downtown were probably closed. I cant believe this restaurant hasnt closed from bankruptcy. If you take 90 minutes to make a burger than maybe the managers are in the wrong business. Also the employees made us feel like they just wanted us to leave because they wanted to go home. I am assuming they are only still in business because this place is in a remote location and there is not much else in the area. Horrible experience!

I had high hopes for this place but was pretty disappointed all around. The decoration was ok and the service wasn't much better. The food was not good, I ordered a nicoise salad, which maybe I should have assumed might have been a bit ambition for a beer bar but the tuna looked like rubber. I took the salmon off and ate the salad, which wasn't bad by itself. My parents were with me and neither of they were impressed with their meals either. One positive, the beer selection was pretty good, I would come back to sit at the bar, but I definitely wouldn't eat there again.

Traveling to Portland from Chico we stopped here to eat. The food was pretty good, and the service was alright until we got the bill. The waiter asked if I wanted to look at the bill I declined and said just run my debit card I didn't need to see it. Then when he came back with my receipt I signed and went to go grab my debit card but it was missing from the folder. I waited for that particular waiter to come back with my card, he walked by and I asked him where my debit card was he said "oh it wasn't in the folder" I said no he said he'd check at the cash wrap, I watched him head towards the cash register and stop and PULL OUT MY DEBIT CARD FROM HIS BREAST POCKET then when he returned he said that my card was mixed up with his employee ID card yeah right, he was going to steal from me, writing himself in a big tip or using my card for personal use. When I was there, I noticed that there were a bunch of elderly couples in the restaurant I really hope that this employee has not stolen from any of them. If he is bold enough to pull out my debit card in plain sight of a customer from his pocket then my guess is that he has done this before. I have the employees name on the receipt and will be placing a call to the manager, and I hope this employee is fired stealing should not be tolerated at the work place.

Very cute place. Loved the fact that there is a historical bldg. We were traveling from Seattle to Southern Cali and had a layover in Roseburg, the clerk at our hotel recommended this place and it was definitely yummy. The waitress Becca wasn't overly helpful and made us feel very rushed. After a long day of driving we just wanted to relax a little with a cold brew. When we asked for suggestions on the draft beer we were just handed a menu, it would have been awesome to have been given a suggestion or two. I actually chose the Ruby based on the hotel clerks suggestion. We had burgers, fish and chips and turkey sandwich. A very yummy meal indeed, just wish Becca would've been more friendlier, I don't even recall her ever even smiling, hopefully just a bad day! Wish they had these restaurants in so cal! Recommend for sure!!

This was half way back from California to Seattle, I was thinking "Man I'm hungry, but I really don't want fast food." I was also traveling with my puppy and didn't want to lock her up. Then I remembered Roseburg had this McMenamins in the old train station.... SCORE! I was so happy. I asked if I could hang out at a table in front. I had an Ahi burger and a great beer while sitting with my pup. They were so cool about the dog thing...I hope McMenamins takes over the whole world....Everything they touch they make better, and I am a fan for life....

I visited this restaurant on Friday 5/10/13 while visiting a friend in Oregon. She recommended it as the best place in town. The building is an old train station that has been converted into a brewery/restaurant. For starters, we had the cajun tatter tots, DELICIOUS. I enjoyed the Colonel Mustard Chicken Sandwhich accompanied by their McMenamins Irish Stout. The service was good and our food was ready quickly.

Really nice building, fun decor, great character. Beer was OK, but not much choice as far as the wine goes. They've got their own "Rabbit" label, but not much else. Food was OK, not really special. French fries were a little greasy and limp, not hot and crisp. The raspberry salad dressing was really good. The service was OK, not really fast, but the waitress was nice.

Loved it! I like most McMenamins locations and this one was no exception. This old train station is charming and awesome. As we sat in our booth enjoying McMenamins brews, I was fascinated by the eclectic arrangement of light fixtures on the ceiling. This place is well lit and open which only adds to the charm. The staff was amazing and the food was fantastic. Their Bacon Poppin' Daddy Sandwich was invented by one of their own and it was fantastic. Though I like trying new places, next time I'm in Roseburg, I don't think I would want to eat anywhere else. I'm sold to Roseburg Station Pub & Brewery.

Meh...as usual for this company, it is very middling. Their beer is average, on the side of pedestrian. Their food is also very average. Service, average. I absolutely LOVE the way this company uses and preserves old historic structures. However, that doesn't really make up for its lackluster experience.

For those unfamiliar with McMenamin's, it is a small chain enterprise that has as hallmark buying older buildings with some historical functional significance (schools, mental hospitals, railway stations) and re purposing them into restaurants and sometimes lodging facilities too, and sometimes lodging facilities and restaurants that also have entertainment venues in the mix, like movie theaters. (A good example of the latter is the McMenamin's St. Francis School in Bend, OR.) This McMenamin's is strictly restaurant and brewpub and like all other McMenamin's restaurants the beverages and food are just "meh". Most of the time, so is the service. But Roseburg does not have a wealth of options for dining and this is in a convenient location so we've been "tugged" into McMenamin's here more once when we've arrived in town hungry and tired.. Each time feeling as if we'd been "had" for poor food quality and service being hidden by "kitsch". There HAVE to be better options in Roseburg. Thanks to the reviews of other Yeeps on Yelp, we'll search them out. Because no more McMenamin's for us. Feeling "had" leaves us with a bad taste in our mouth.

I have visited this restaurant 5+ times and have had HORRIBLE service every time I have been. In fact, it is the only thing consistent about this pub. The food is mediocre at best, cocktails are mall and the wait staff sucks. One more than one occasion I have sat across tables piled with food, garbage and used napkins after guests have left and the table was left that way for an hour until it was needed for a new guest. Regardless of how busy they are, you can expect a wait at the door to get a table (probably because all the empty ones are piled with old food and need to be cleared) and a wait for your food. If you have all the time in the world on your hands and love mediocre food, make sure to check this place out. Otherwise head up a few blocks and try Alexander's Greek Restaurant or Los Dos Amigos on Jackson Street.

First of all~ we Love the staff...good people who care about their regulars! Big Problem with the new menu....Huge!! First they have consolidated down to pretty much being a burger joint...where are the vegetarian and fish options? What The Heck...No Caesar Salads? No Wraps? No Salmon...at all? And what happened to the chicken enchiladas...is nothing sacred? First went the burrito then quesadillas now this?!?!? Against our better judgement we ordered fish and chips and they were sooooo BAD! Double extra crispy~read GREASY and RAW in the center, not to mention the fish was a thin replica of something barely sea worthy....all this for $12.50= Crazy! The companion nausea that later occurred cured me and my pally of eating F&C again....EVER! Please reconsider your menu....Caesar Salmon Salad was the best item on the menu and we neeed it back! Pretty Please??

My husband and I are big fans of McMenamin's locations. But this one is WAY high on the list. The history behind the place is amazing. I was a old train station. The Booth benches are the original seats front the station. Just freshened up. A painting of poker players on the wall is of people that use to use a back room. The waiter clearly loved his job. He was honest when we were about to order dessert. He said don't spend it on a Bitty bit of cheesecake when you can get the Brownie for basically the same price. Boy was he right! After a several hour drive from Portland this was a refreshing place to unwind and have a pint!

As a native Portlander, I have experienced my share of McMenamins, and it is usually a good, basic choice. So, we decided to stop into the Roseburg station for lunch on our way back down to the bay area. The place looked very promising. Clean and cute, and full of charm. First, I must note that my two star review is mostly due to the fact that the place seemed way understaffed, and not because of the performance of our waitress. It took a bit too long to get our order in, and when we did, we ordered a couple of coffees since we were a little road weary. It took awhile for our coffees to come out, and when they did, mine had a little bug floating in it. Oh well. It took a LONG time for our food to come out. I was feeling indulgent, so I had ordered the fish n'chips. BIG MISTAKE. It was the greasiest fish n'chips I have EVER experienced, and not to mention a bit burnt. My bf's pulled pork sandwich was MUCH tastier, except for the fact that they allowed a bunch of the juice from the coleslaw to soak into the bottom bun. Honestly, the place isn't too bad for road food, just make sure to avoid the fish n'chips, and don't come too hungry because the food will take awhile.

The only reason I am giving this place 3 stars is because I really enjoyed the decor and the restoration of the space. Otherwise, definitely not my first choice in dining. We met a friend here while we were staying the night in Roseburg and we were able to seat ourselves right away. Unfortunately, we ignored for the better part of ten minutes until our friend edged her way to the end of the booth and stuck her head out until someone finally came over. We ordered our drinks and I got the mac and cheese. The Mac and Cheese was sadly average. The cheese sauce was plain and kind of runny. The noodles were thankfully cooked properly and the garlic bread served with it was pretty tasty, but a little over toasted. I probably wouldn't come back, but not the worst food I have ever had.

I have visited three times and am grateful it's here! Best thing about Roseburg. I love the IPA, salmon plate, garden burger and even the Cajun tots. The bartender seemed to know everyone by name and what they preferred.

I chose McMenamin's Roseburg Station for a meeting with an old friend I hadn't seen since 1970. We were steered right to my friend by a server, and from there, the service just plummeted. The pub was 1/4-1/3 full, so it wasn't busy. My friend we were meeting had been waiting for about 10 minutes for his pint before we got there, which sometimes just happens. My traveling partner & I each ordered a pint, and all three came together. We polished those off pretty quickly, and ordered another pint & a pitcher(2 different beers). After more than 15 minutes, I went up to the bar, where our server was talking to someone. I said "I've read reviews about how poor the service is here, but I just wanted to see for myself. Can we PLEASE get our beers, we're dying out here." The beer immediately showed, & we ordered food. Two of us had delicious Chile Verde Chicken Enchiladas. No faults with the food, or the beer. My roadtrip partner had had a sweet tooth, so I snuck an order for a Black & Tan brownie to the server, and when it came, he said that was comped due to the delay. Our server was really nice, but just out to lunch. We paid with a credit card, and the server brought back the folder.....and then a couple of minutes later, brought another folder with another table's credit card. We flagged the server down & gave him the incorrect card, then gave him a $50 & asked for change.....and after 10 minutes, had to chase him down. The beer & food are good, the service is inattentive at best, but as we walked out the door, a Grateful Dead bootleg tape was playing, & I said "It's McMenamin's!" Thanks Mike & Brian, nice place, but the server needs some coffee or something

Simply put, a really great place! The staff is friendly and keep the atmosphere up-beat. We've been here several times and have always had great service. The menu isn't very diverse, however everything I've ever had is flavorful and has some unique twist to it. And the beers? Order the sampler ! You'll be glad you did.

So after having a bad experience at my first go around, I decided to give this place another shot because I did love my burger. The first time I was just overwhelmingly discouraged by the service. I am someone who loves to cook so dining out for me is more about the service than food. This time my server Joseph was beyond amazing, he was very friendly and very attentive. He was very outgoing and made us feel very welcome. He is definitely in my list of top 10 servers of all time. I even ordered a drink they had not heard of and he took the time to make sure I got may shandy. Thanks Joseph you were great. And once again the food was just the best!

Really looked forward to having lunch here and even called ahead to find out when they opened. Only had to wait 10 minutes until the doors were unlocked and went inside. There was a group already sitting in the bar-like area. No greetings, no wait staff around at all and we seated ourselves. No menus and that's because no one was around to at least spend time looking at our dinning choices. Perhaps they need a little bell above the door. Mr. Picky and I have set a time limit when it comes to arriving and sitting at a table. It's ten minutes. If NO ONE comes to give us a menu, we leave. That's all there is to it. We've learned our lesson's in the past by waiting just to see how long it takes to be 'noticed.' So, after ten minutes, we left and went to Mark 5 where we were immediately greeted with smiles, seated and handed menus and told about the specials. That's how you run a successful restaurant. This was our second time to give McMenamins a try and we are not giving them a third.

We were invited to a birthday party here, and were looking forward to the event. We had booked ahead of time, and even double checked the day before to make sure all went well. We got there and most of our party was in a small room near the entrance. It took 2 hours to get a drink, and we were told that there was no booking for our party. Then, after waiting a long time, a sweet girl came and took our order, letting us know that we weren't in her station, but that she would help us. We were grateful! The food finally arrived, and was mediocre at best. I will never waste my time going there again. A terrible experience for fair to middling food and hours of waiting. And no one was willing to take responsibility for the screw up! Don't waste your time is my recommendation

  • Michelle M.

This place sucks. The drinks are watered down and the glasses are filled to the brim with ice, yielding about 2 oz for each $10 drink. The food tasted like it was heated in the microwave and had very little taste. My wife and I both had the salmon. It tasted old and very fishy, not like it usually does. The highlight of the meal was the mashed potatoes. Now what does that tell you? I recommend avoiding this place.

(The 4 stars is for happy hour only....otherwise it gets 3) I sat at the bar and had my 1st happy hour at a McMenamins. I've been to all the Portland area McMenamins and was so happy when I actually experienced decent service here (prepare to be ignored in Portland). Not only did I get decent service I got a drink and 2 entrees for under 7 bucks. It has the typical fare and decor that you've come to expect from these establishments. I'm not a beer drinker...but my fresh squeezed greyhound was delish.

I just love the McMenamins pub-style atmosphere. Our Roseburg Station is no exception. It has been said that the service here is very spotty, and unfortunately it's true. It can be very busy during happy hour and I think sometimes they're understaffed. If you can get past that, which I easily can, it's a great place to hang out and the beer selection is pretty good. McMenamins ales are enjoyable and there's something for everybody. I enjoy sitting outside in back (or in front, depending on my mood) in the summer. There's something about having a cold beer in the sunshine.. There is a "private" group room available for parties. There are some pictures scattered about on the walls.. one of them is of one of my great-great relatives, at his job at the train station. Another point of interest is the men's urinal. It is enormous. I hope I didn't ruin your appetite but I thought it was worth mentioning. The menu is standard pub fare, with a small happy hour menu that features a few items for $3 or less. I like the BBQ Pork sandwich, the Portland Dip (like a French Dip but with Turkey and cheese) and the Fish and Chips. There are salads and soups, and a good pasta dish. There are a few "off the menu" ale concoctions if you're adventurous. They'll mix a Terminator Stout with a Ruby to make a Rubinator. I like it for summer, when a stout is too much. You can also order a Rubberhead, which is the result of mixing Ruby with Hammerhead. They make very good mixed drinks, too. McMenamins distills a whiskey, called HogsHead. Give that a try. Also, for dessert, you must have a Terminator Milkshake. Roseburg Station is a great, fun, comfortable place. Enjoy.

First time in Roseburg and we decided to try this place out. It is an old train station depot and the decor is pretty nice. We all enjoyed our dinners and the fries tasted homemade. My boys loved the tater tots and there seemed to be something for everyone. The service was a little slow and we were there on a very uncrowded Tuesday night.

  • Joy P.

I loved it. My BBQ bacon cheese burger was great, as was the clam chowder. I got a boysenberry stout, which they affectionately called the "Boyz in the hood." It wasn't the best Stout I've ever had, but served the purpose none the less. I also have to say the decor here is awesome! They've filled the ceiling with countless period chandeliers and pendant lamps which gives the place a really nice glow on a cloudy day or once the sun has set. Perhaps not the best McMenamins location ever, but sure darn good for Roseburg, Oregon, and most places for that matter.

I generally love McMenamins. This was a McMenamins, it had the giant urinal, the good beer, the great happy hour food--all the makings of a typical McMenamins! But I didn't walk away thinking, "Wow, that was another amazing McMenamins experience." Slower service, mediocre food, good beer, but not as exciting as the other McMenamins locations I've visited. In the context of the franchise, this one only gets two stars.

Aside the attractive hippie-Frenchman waiter I would say this place was possibly less than 2 stars, but for his great attitude and dazzling personality it stays where it is. The spinach salad had major potential for being great. Chicken smoked to taste like bacon (dayum!) was great but the spinach was a tad wilted and everything else was just barely there. What WAS exceptional was the happy hour priced Penney's Gin & Tonic. Wow. I now know what tonic should taste like at a very affordable price! Thank you!

Cute place, good comfort food and great beer! We came in for dinner last week while staying in Roseburg for the night on a road trip - we hit a terrible storm while driving through the Shasta's on the way up, and the stress of that drive left me famished. So we were happy to find a place that had good, hot food and delicious Oregon beer to unwind. Anyhoo, the spinach and artichoke dip was YUM-mee, and the brewer's salad and baked mac 'n cheese both totally hit the spot too. We rounded everything off with a crazy delicious berry pie and then had to roll ourselves out of there with our bellies full and satisfied.

I stopped in here for a bite to eat with my husband and it was one of the most intersting places I have ever been. The inside of the pub was very tidy and cute and the waitresses were very friendly. Even the bathrooms were soo unique. The food was great. My favorite is the Spinache, artichoke dip. It is to die for. I wish I would have bought enough for a year to take home it was soo good!

So, I understand this is a chain. My husband said the food here was pretty good and the beer was even better. I had the Ruby Ale (raspberry) which was almost like raspberry flavored club soda, it was so light. It wasn't BAD, it just wasn't as full-flavored as I'd like. The hummus wrap I ordered was okay. Nothing spectacular. The tortilla was a bit on the hard, dry side. I took half of my meal home. Hehehe...here comes the good part. The next morning, I open my to-go box to eat my hummus wrap, it's growing mold where it was cut in half. Really?? I am not really sure what may cause that, the moisture, the utensil used to cut it in half, dirty hands!? Bleh. I'm surprised I didn't have diarrhea. So, the ideas presented are attractive, however, the delivery is a bit off. I was satisfied, but I've definitely had better food and service. May go back to try more beer, but that would probably be it.

Unfortunately while the food here is good, if not great, the service is some of the worst in Roseburg. The staff isn't surly, but always seems harried and chronically understaffed. Be prepared to have to flag down your waiter for any and every need, because you will rarely be attended to. The menu is small, but offers a decent selection that is relatively diverse compared to Roseburg standards. Its a shame because they offer a nice change of pace to the typical pub/burger fare, but the service is abominable. All three times I've been there has been the same. Last time lunch took almost 2 hours because the service was so slow; and both the food and drinks were incorrect, which was amazing because all we ordered were 2 iced teas, a pulled pork sammie, and some pot roast. It was such a frustrating experience I have no desire to go back. 4 stars on the food, 1 star on the service.

We attempted to have lunch here on a Monday around 1pm. After 3 "be right with you's" and 20 minutes someone came to take our order. Before ordering we asked how long it would take to get our food. The answer: at least 30 minutes. We said we'd find another restaurant. The reply: that sounds like a good idea. This is a management failure. The restaurant was clearly understaffed for the level of business they had. Typically the business level will decline to the capacity of the restaurant to handle it. We will not be returning.

As trippy and fascinating as the decor was in this place -- tons of old lamps, a huge stove, dark wooden seats, awesome artwork -- the food wasn't anything to write home about. I had the Portland Dip sandwich, which was basically meat and cheese on bread with a dipping "au jus." The lack of vegetables was disheartening. And my friend had the vegetarian pasta dish, which she said she could make herself. Ah, well. At least the scenery and friendly staff helped to break up our long drive to Portland.

Service was good and food was standard McMennamins offerings. The inside is a little dark but there was an outdoor patio. Good for kids but they were out of crayons. Good thing we travel with our own. It was a welcome sight to have a McMennamins while travelling on the road.

This was my first time here and I will definitely be back. The atmosphere is great and has an old time pub feel to it. The servers are great and friendly. I got the pita and hummus for an appetizer and it was great. For my meal I just had the chicken caesar salad, it isn't on the menu but if you ask for it they will make it for you. I recommend that you give it a try because it is a great place.

I don't think I could have been more disappointed with this place. We met a friend for dinner here and she was from Eugene and knew her way around Roseburg, we were just passin through on our way to Olympia. I searched for a place that had some character and something called "Roseburg Station Brew Pub" sounds awesome so that's what we picked. We show up and this place looks like it is going to be great. Instead it turns into an Old Spaghetti Factory Redux. Old building, old pictures, down-home feel...combined with terrible service, worse food, and a disgrace to whatever used to be in the building. My Whiskey Chicken Sandwich was just dry and plain. The menu said it was made with whiskey and coffee. I asked the waiter (who took his sweet time showing up) how much it tasted like coffee, he said not at all. Then I asked him how much it tasted like whiskey, he said not at all. I should have listened to him because this sandwich tasted bland. If not for the tons of a salad they topped it off with, it wouldn't have tasted like anything except cardboard. So so so bad. To accompany my sandwich, I chose tots. These tots must have shared a fryer with onion rings because they tasted like a Bloomin' Onion. Again, very bad. Of course, after repeated complaints, our local friend, who only got a drink, decided to tell us that this place was actually really bad and sort of sucked. Thanks for tellin me Jami. Anyways, if you are a tourist, be wary of these McMenimans places...

We went into McMenamin's on a Sunday evening around 6:30pm. The place was moderately busy and the sign said "Please Seat Yourselves", so we did. Our seating area was infested with flies. They were all over the place and we noticed at least a dozen flying around our immediate area and maybe a half dozen crawling around on our table and all over the menus. We walked out in disgust. This place needs some sort of pest control system.

The most unique place to eat or just hang out in Roseburg. Great beer, root beer and food. The service, however, is not good, and they can be quite slow. I wish they could clean that part up. My family enjoys going there.

We had the most splendid time AGAIN!!!!!!!! We usually go for appetizers and it always seems to work out well. We shared the buffalo wings, hummus plate, cajun tater tots and artichoke/spinach dip. We drank some Crinkley Nuts and plenty of Lemon Drops. There were only two people running the joint and one was the bartender. It was fairly busy but he made our visit fun.

we kinda got forgotten about on the patio but once we hailed down a waitress she was nice and friendly. sampled the fish and chips - two large pieces of crispy-on-the-outside, moist flakiness on the inside (wished it came with vinegar and lemons and couldn't hail the waitress down for some) - and their fries are thin and that perfect right-before-burnt-but-not crispiness. the burgers sound good and seemed like most people were enjoying the beer selection. clean and cozy decor - a good place for groups.

Our friendly French server was attentive and accommodating. He was very patient with our tired kids. The food and beer were good, and the atmosphere was inviting. This was a great way to spend the first night of our road trip.

Been in this 'burg on business for a few days and wanted a simple burger and a cold beer in a relaxed environment. This joint delivered . . . with a couple of very large parties of many already stretching the staff & stock to the limits my burger was prepared as requested and my beer frosty & cold. extremely reasonably priced and cool as a cucumber server.

Disappointing!! We've given this location numerous attempts to shine, but they've disappointed on the food every time. We made this a stopping point on our frequent drive from Sacramento to Portland as a place to grab lunch and a beer. Each time we've ordered food, they've gotten our order wrong or forgotten it completely. Previous trips, I've made simple requests (dressing on the side, no mayo on my sandwich), and not once have our orders come out correct. Tonight, we sat down and after about 10 min, we ordered drinks (a Ruby & milkshake) and tots. The Ruby came out quickly, with an explanation that the shake would take longer. So, we waited. And waited. And waited. Finally, 30 min later, my shake came out (melted) and still no tots. We had a horrid time finding our waiter to ask about the mediocre shake and missing tots. I finally went up to the bar to ask. Our waiter was gracious and removed the milkshake, but at the end of an hour trip to the restaurant, we left hungry and disappointed!

Great atmosphere, clean, smells nice. The food was excellent - burgers with blue cheese, bacon, etc. Very reasonable prices! Dessert and beer were good too. Not too crowded. Definitely a good spot to check out.

Service is slow as can be expected from McMenamins. Dont even try and order from the happy hour menu ONE minute before happy hour!!!! They will charge you FULL price...Literally one minute before happy hour and my beer cost double (this was after I told the waitress I was here for happy hour) Other than that, food was good and the price was good as well...Regular price menu is to be expected from a pub location. Happy Hour is worth going for.

This was my first trip to a McMenamins brewery. I have always heard great things about how they transform historic buildings such as school houses, train stations or hotels into a modern micro brewery with great appreciation for the past. I was delighted to find this location after making a pit stop for a night in the cozy town of Roseburg (on our way to Portland). Housed in what was once the city's bustling Southern Pacific train depot, McMenamins Roseburg Station Pub & Brewery is somewhat of a museum of the rich rail history of the city. I was amazed at the historic pictures, news articles, relics and such inside. They had a large venue with options for a private room if needed. I was most intrigued by the array of lighting fixtures and ceiling fans hanging from the ceiling. We sat outside because we we traveling with our dog, which they allow on their front patio. Service was extremely fast, friendly and efficient. The beers were very good... Bursting with fresh, fresh, fresh ingredients! My favorite was the Hammerhead, a classic Northwest pale ale (cascade hops). This is McMenamins' top selling beer and has a huge local following. The food was great. They had several healthy choices, like hummus. I always appreciate a microbrewery that can deliver you a great burger and fries, or a grilled chicken, hummus and fresh salad... Depends on your mood, right?! If this is their "brand," then I am excited to add and eventually conquer their remaining breweries on the brew bucket list someday!

Like most McMenamin's, they have taken an old historic building and restored it beautifully........I've eaten here several times and never been disappointed. Today I had an excellent Tavern salad and Cajun tots, and a Ruby Ale and an IPA, both very good. Yesterday I had the Purple Haze, which is brewed using boysenberries, and real tasty. Bartender was friendly and knowledgable about the brews and spirits that they brew.
