GOOD STEAK, GOOD BURGER. End of the good stuff. Tired but clean decor . . . VERY TIRED. Slow service even we were the only ones in the place other than the crazy guy who left and came back in about 6 times, talking loudly about something no one could understand. When we were seated, this sort pf place could have at least put out some bread and butter or something. I wonder if Restaurant Impossible could save this place? That's probably their only hope.

Food was okay, came here for lunch. The service was really slow. I would come here again and I need to before I can write a solid review, because I was honestly left with a mixed bag of feelings about the place.
I recently went to the Wagon Wheel in Roseburg and came away with some mixed feelings. The service was awesome, but the food for the price was rather expensive. I found a booth in the lounge and the tv's in there were either small or fuzzy and the atmosphere was a bit to be desired. I was the youngest patron by at least 20 years. I had chicken that was placed upon spaghetti that came with salad and bread. For 13.50 I thought it was a little on the steep side. I was excited to try a place that was not a franchise and be in the company of some locals. I am all about smaller restaurants/establishments, but this one left a little to be desired on my visit.

If I could leave negative stars I would. Being New Years eve we made a reservation for our party of 4 for 6:30, so an early night. We arrived a few minutes early and found a couple standing in the door way. So we lined up behind them. We stood there for 5 minutes or so, finally ask if the couple had been greeted or even SEEN a hostess or waitress. They said that they had been waved at and told to just wait. A quick glance around the restaurant left us a little confused, the dining room that holds 20 or more tables, had only 6 tables with diners ???? Our son finally saw a waitress and went and asked about being seated, telling her we had a reservation, he was told we would just need to wait. This is when we realized there were 2 wait staff, who were waiting on these 6 tables and ignoring those of us at the door. One of the waitresses ran to the bar and asked the bartender to "HELP". Jen, came out got us seated and then tried to help everyone else. It was like if you weren't one of the first 6 tables you didn't exist. Jen, brought us drinks and took our order. However at 6:55 ON NEW YEARS EVE, they were already out of baked potatoes (oh to have been one of the lucky soles at tables 1-6) I ordered prime rib, as supposedly they are know for it (I will tell you why shortly) my mother ordered jumbo prawns, son just had an appetizer, and my husband had Kona burger. The food came out, well most of it. My prime rib came out 3 or 4 minutes after everyone else's. The prawns looked pretty bland, but mom said they tasted good with the exception of the potatoes, which tasted boxed mashed and had a nasty packaged brown gravy on them. The burger was just ok, and the chips with it were good. Now on to the prime rib....OMG...it was so gross. I ordered it medium, as I don't really like really rare but do like a little pink. This was WELL DONE and like rubber. Pretty sure it was microwaved and not fresh. Also it wasn't cooked right to begin with, it was obviously cooked to fast as the fat in it had not had a chance to melt and make the yumminess that is prime rib. I too had the nasty potatoes and to make it even more appetizing the meal came with steam veggies...except they forgot to steam them. Yup they were basically raw. Asked for the horseradish sauce that generally comes with prime rib and received a little cup of pure horseradish. All this time our waitress (An angel) ran NON-STOP trying to greet each new table. Pretty sure that the other 2 waitresses were actually cooking the food as well as waiting on tables. We will not return, this is the 2nd experience like this. BAD FOOD POOR SERVICE Only plus JEN.... Another restaurant should hire her so she wouldn't have to work in that nightmare of a establishment.

Stopped in for lunch with my family. Ordered the Fettuccine Caprice. Came with a side salad. The salad was lettuce, a cucumber slice and a tomato slice with dressing. The main dish was Fettuccine pasta, olive oil, diced fresh (flavorless) tomato with dried basil (the seasoning kind) and garlic salt. Um, nope. Couldn't eat more than a few bites. Was like eating plain oily pasta. Our server was friendly and we didn't have to wait for our food like the other reviews have mentioned. Next time I think we'll just go to the Elmer's a block closer to the freeway.

Rose and I had ourselves a dinner adventure at Brutke's Wagon Wheel Restaurant in Roseburg. When you first walk in, you notice a casual atmosphere and distinctive western decor, and you figure you have found a low-price family restaurant. The place doesn't seem to be very clean either. But the menu doesn't follow suite. It's a bit pricy and the selections don't seem to be very kid-friendly. The kid-friendly part is not a problem for us, but the pricy part, and the cleanliness is. Rose has been interested in finding good seafood in Roseburg, a goal that seems somewhat elusive. At any rate, she ordered the Pacific Northwest Halibut with steamed vegetables. The menu said that it was "lightly seasoned with a lemon butter sauce". In reality, not so much. It was a nice piece of fish, but dry without much flavor. Rose made do by applying some butter that came with the bread and adding a bit of salt and pepper. In contrast, the cream of chicken soup she got was great! I ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu. I learned to make it for our Blog , Rose's Cafe, so I felt comfortable evaluating that dish. Well, it was very nicely done! I also enjoyed the pasta in Alfredo sauce on the side. The waitress told me they had recently began making the Alfredo sauce from scratch, and if so, someone was doing a good job. My salad was a generic dinner salad; not much to say about it. The place did have some good points, but the lack of housekeeping and the prices were big put-offs. We most likely won't return. Check out our blog "Rose's Cafe" at: rosescafe1.blogspot.com

Not a bad place to stop and eat good portion for the money. Wait was a little long especially for not being crowded. I think it was only one really nice lady. All in all great place to stop and I will do it again on my next trip.

I have a new favorite breakfast location in Roseburg. Quality coffee plus eggs, ham and hash browns plus good friendly service made for the perfect beginning to the morning. I will return.

The dated and dingy decor can be overlooked when considering the quite reasonably priced breakfast menu ($9 for an omelette with two sides and coffee). Unfortunately the "fixings" inside my omelette were cooked to the point of dehydration, making the ham pieces more like leather. The overall atmosphere was that of a place frequented by alcoholic retirees. The saving grace? The waitress was exceptional!

I am always concerned when I am the only diner in an established restaurant. The decor is outdated and there is an Oder I haven't smelled since visiting my Grandmother's. the food is over priced and bland. The owners have an uphill battle if they intend to stay in business.

The Wagonwheel was exceptional! The service was perfect, the bread and salad were both fresh, and the prime rib was tender and very tasty! I really enjoyed my dinner, from start to finish! I will certainly return to this restaurant again! To be honest, it was the best prime rib I have had in many years!

ARG .... Soup came after the salad which came after the entrée was served...we are still waiting for our ice tea ...the 25.00 halibut was over cooked dry and tasteless .. It was like something from kitchen nightmares... We were waiting for either Gordon Ramsey or Allen Funt to jump out at any time....save your hundred bucks and go to a soup kitchen for a better experience.
