My husband, 4 yo, and I visited this place on our way back from camping at the Cove Palisades. We were very hungry for a cooked meal and didn't want to just eat Dairy Queen. What a serious regret! We walked in and the smell was old like moth balls and nursing home! Ambiance was like Bates Motel, however, all we wanted was good food. False advertisement on window; says burgers are $5.95, received menus they start at $11.00...they promise Angus beef I promise you we received gray patties!! Gray! I saw that and just ordered the soup of the day, which was beef vegetable. Yikes! Frozen vegetables, maybe canned with too much Mr. Dash or condiment and Tomato sauce and water! My small salad was actually withered folks, old and ready to be thrown away. My guess is everything is old and frozen, nothing fresh! I kept saying someone should call Dave Ramsey, disgusting food. They prey on unaware campers and travelers. I paid 35 dollars for 2 cent old food. They are in a time warp and served Turkey patties calling then Angus beef. Don't go wait til Calamity Jane's just 15 miles further. We felt violated, robbed, and sad.

I have to agree, nothing BAD - just nothing to rave about. If you know my reviews, you know I don't rave needlessly, or undeservedly, so I won't start now. We had a decent breakfast, large portions. Their "hot" omelet (as in spicy) had about a teaspoon of Sriracha on it, disappointing if you eat fire as I do. This place is really about as "diner" as you can get, complete with a deer head on the mantle (and really, who doesn't like to stare at an animals head while you eat?), with everything you'd expect from a small town place. It fits the stereotype, and then some. Just sayin'.

My boyfriend and I have had a couple of amazing experiences at this eatery. Our first experience was on our 1 year anniversary we had the jaegerschnitzel and the salmon Caesar salad. We came in with low expectations considering it was nearly empty and it's locAtion. We were blown away by the flavors, presentation, and the hospitality of the chef/owner. He came out to chat with us as we finished our meal. He encouraged us to try one of his homemade desserts not once, but both times (creme brûlée, then strawberry and seasonal blackberry shortcake) he's a pleaser! This guy knows his German food and desserts! Take it from us. We love the still creek inn. :)

As soon as you walk in and sit down, your instincts will tell you to get out. Listen to them. Food was not great. Dishes, silverware and prep area do not look very clean. I saw the chef coughing into his hand while prepping our food. Scary.

This restaurant is disappointing on every level except for the service. The proprietor, Brigette generates a palpably hostile environment. I felt very sorry for my server to have to work for such a person. I used to come here when it was the Alpine Hut. They made the best hash browns ever. Today mine arrived, limp and pale, I asked them to crisp them. The second round was returned looking unchanged. I asked yet again, and had them returned again still limp. The server apologized. She said this is a common complaint and that returning them again would be futile. The owner was cooking. Brigette. Beyond that, the food is expensive for the quality, the restaurant has a bad odor, and feels sticky everywhere.

Came for breakfast, and was very disappointed. The prices are high, the selection was mediocre. The gravy was basically flour-paste.. completely tasteless. The chicken fried steak was tough and greasy. The pancakes weren't bad. My husband biscuits were tiny and looked like the came from a can. I know there are limited options up here, but next time we'll keep driving.

Zzzzzzzzzzz. "Bland" doesn't begin to describe it. As part of my lifelong quest to eat at all these roadside diners along 26 I stopped in at The Still Creek Inn a few weeks ago. The server was friendly enough, although a bit confused. Maybe she was new? The decor is old and scary and musty and weird. The menu is expensive and looks promising. Don't be fooled. I got a french dip. I may as well have been chewing on cardboard. Boring, flavorless bread, flavorless meat, flavorless horseradish, flavorless brown water that they called 'au jus', flavorless french fries. Oh the horror! GF got a burger. Boring, flavorless patty, flavorless bun, flavorless flavor. Absolutely horrific. There is less than zero effort being put into this restaurant. As one earlier reviewer put it (perfectly), this place is sustained by drive-byers who stop here once. This place should thank it's lucky stars that it's in a good location, because it's just awful. The DQ next door will serve you a far, far better meal.

Its taken me far too long to write this review but after reading all the other negative reviews I feel it is time to make a report if you will. I was just going thru the Yelp reviews to find a nice restaurant to take my 81 year old Aunt to in August on her birthday as I always do on my annual trip to Mt. Hood. 2 years ago we were headed to the red log cabin restaurant across the street from this place and found it closed. My Aunt then wanted to go to the Still Creek Inn as she had been there in her younger days when it was something else. We walked in and were not greeted but glared at. Our table was sticky and the place was uncomfortable but my Aunt wanted to be there as she had fond memories of her late husband there. We sat down and when I placed my order I asked if the iced tea was fresh and was told it was by the owner named Bridgett. When it arrived it had 3 ice cubes in it and was that stuff from the soda dispenser, it was not fresh . It also had a lemon rind the size of a dime in it and I do not like lemon, simply just fresh plain iced tea. And this was just part of the rind, not even the meat of the meat of the lemon, so tacky. There was only one other table that had customers at it but I discretely went to the register and waited for her to acknowledge me. When she finally did I let her know I did not like the syrup iced tea which is why I asked if the iced tea was fresh to begin with and I wanted to switch to a Pepsi. That woman went ballistic on me and screamed at me that the tea was a Pepsi product and the best ever, it was fresh and it was good quality. She went on and on how I was the only one that ever complained and how good it was. She put her arms behind her back and huffed out her chest and literally backed me up yelling at me in front of my family. My elderly Aunt was shaking and I told her it's ok, that were just going to leave, it took forever to calm her down after this nasty incident. We got up and the owner woman began screaming at us as soon as we got to the door that and threatened to us that she was going to call the cops and report I did not pay for our food. I told her to call anyone she wanted. I should have called the cops on her! And what food? I didn't even get the fresh iced tea I ordered.

Worst. Breakfast. Ever. I guess seeing an empty restaurant should have been my first clue. Sad.

We went to this restaurant ONCE. The first thing that stood out was that this was a restaurant that wanted to look high-end, but was located inside a seventies diner. The prices on the menu, and the food description, again promised high-end dining, but we were sorely disappointed. First of all, we were sat on the diner-side in a booth by curtains that looked like they'd been up there since 1979 and hadn't been washed. We ordered a costly cut of beef and a pasta with seafood, which were in excess of $20 a plate, and received to our horror, bowtie pasta from a box with sysco alfredo and frozen bits of overcooked seafood thrown over it, and a moderately sized steak cooked to death with no seasoning. What was worse? There is a counter across from the booths where customers can sit, and the two servers on shift that night were behind the counter going on and on, loudly talking about how terrible the restaurant's owner was--what a bitch she was, calling her all sorts of derogatory names and laughing about her. We were party to at least forty five minutes of malicious gossip and indifferent service. We were the only people there, and it was like we were mostly invisible. Another party arrived mid meal and were seated in the less diner-like area of the restaurant. We paid WAY more than the meal was worth, I could have gotten better at Denny's--and were quickly on our way. We are residents up here on the mountain and we confess we do expect a decent standard of service, especially since this is a tourist area... but the only thing keeping many of these restaurants alive is the fact that they are sustained by one-time visitors coming up and down the mountain. If the still creek had to rely on regulars only, it would be screwed. It's a crappy restaurant with an obviously uncaring and indifferent owner who doesn't bother to make herself present to enforce food quality, to live up to the promises and the prices of the menu and instead allows cafeteria fare to be served at high-end prices, and doesn't care that her staff have absolutely no sense of decorum or consideration and they really just don't care. We won't eat at Still Creek again. We'll stick with Rendezvous.

The food is OK, but we won't be going back after trying to dine here on a Friday night. When we arrived at 8:20 the owner waved us off and turned the sign to closed. Their advertised closing time is nine pm and obviously the owner could care less about customers. Wow, Bridgett, you can't be bothered serving a CUSTOMER forty minutes before your posted closing time? Not to mention the rude mannerism! We are long time local residents and most of our friends quit eating here long ago due to the rude service and crappy attitude from the owner. Years ago when it was the Alpine Hut the locals dubbed it the Alpo Hut. The locals avoid this place, you should too. Head for for the Rendezvous or Skyway for good food and service.

I had razor clams which were supposed to be fresh from the coast. They were tough, heavily breaded and greasy. Also too expensive for what we got.

There isn't anything bad about this place, and not too much exciting either. It was a good enough meal on a cold night in Zig Zag when I didn't want pizza or burgers. What I really wanted was fish. The menu online showed two fish dishes that sounded great. When we got there neither of them were on the menu. All I had to choose from was fish and chips (which most places around had) and salmon caesar salad. I chose the later and it was fine. The mashed potatoes I got on the side were good and my companion liked his steak. Service was fine, the place was pretty empty. The interior is somewhat cozy and lodgy. Since I only eat fish I wouldn't got back unless there were more fish dishes (they even use a fish for their logo!), but if I ate steak I would go back.
