We found our new breakfast place in Redmond. The food is so good. We had eggs Benny and pancakes and biscuits and gravy. Everything was wonderful. The wait staff was very attentive and the food was quick.

Lots of food | Great service $$ Bring your appetite, this is one of my favorite places to grab breakfast. They give a lot :) We had breakfast here just before we hit the road back home to Santa Rosa. Everything was delicious! Their bacon is thick and not super greasy. I ordered chocolate chip pancakes with a side of bacon and eggs. The main dishes are pancakes (duh, it's a pancake house) and you add on other items like bacon, eggs, hash...etc. It can get expensive, but our waitress was super friendly and helpful and cut us deals. So, I actually ended up having bacon and eggs with my pancakes instead of a 'side order' of them. If you're not super hungry, you can easily split what I ordered with another person. Quaint country decor makes you feel warm and welcome. Plenty of parking in the lot.

Wonderful friendly atmosphere, plus amazingly awesome cherry crepes filled with a not too sweet mixture of cherries and juice reduction...the thick bacon is not at all greasy and the coffee is definitely worth a second cup...it fills up quickly but is definitely worth driving to and discovering....how good is it? I came to eat four times in two weeks in two different locations 75 miles apart! My only complaint? Three crepes were too much of a good thing...better to do just one crepe, an order of bacon and coffee.

Great pancakes and breakfast menu items. Classic! Pancakes are better than the average breakfast restaurant in 3 countries thus far. Have never had a bad experience in either location (Bend or Redmond). They are a hoppin' restaurant with good reason. Good place to stop for travelers (great to-go), adults, kids, seniors. Big portions. They close by 2 p.m.

Best large breakfast restaurant in Redmond with easy access and parking. Very friendly servers who go the extra mile! This must visit restaurant is so popular the locals swarm it on the weekends hard.

Old-timey food, friendly service, popular breakfast place near the airport in Redmond, OR. If you have a hankering for pancakes, this is the place for you, and won't you be surprised when you see how many other choices are on the menu! Long waits are possible, be patient.

Great breakfast place with lots of breakfast options. Their omelettes are huge and fluffy filled with cheese and your choice of breakfast meats or vegetables. I have never been to a place where there is so much stuff in an omelette. Also, there is a large variety of pancakes, which are huge and fluffy. Everything is yummy. There are lots of wait staff to fulfill your every need. Coffee and beverages are full and food to brought out hot and fresh. Everyone has a smile on their face and seem to really enjoy working and serving you. The restaurant is very clean, bright and nicely decorated, as are the restrooms. I was impressed at how clean the restaurant floors are, despite all the traffic that goes in and out here. There was nothing on the floor. No spills and no food. Wow! Come hungry or you will be taking a lot of food home in a dog bag. What a great place for breakfast.

Had a very expensive breakfast there this morning ordered the strawberry pancakes. It came with just dry strawberries on top of a couple pancakes was charged $10.75. Asked for a side of bacon that was $6.50 with coffee breakfast was $20 probably will not go back

Very clean, very fast and very good! We had Dutch Baby, and hash browns with fresh fruit. Our waitress was very helpful in ordering and friendly. The price was average for breakfast. We enjoyed the personal service!

Perfect! No complaints. We showed up about 40 minutes before they closed as a party of 6. There were just a couple people left in there closing up their tabs. Traci, our waitress, was awesome. The food was exceptional. Pancakes were fluffy and delicious. The flight of flavored syrups was equally delicious. Over easy eggs were cooked perfectly. The kitchen was just completely on point with every item that came to the table. Even the surprise free bacon! We were told that when the chef saw six people walk in, he threw some bacon on guessing we would order some. Somehow, we didn't. Sacrilegious in retrospect. Traci still brought it to our table. It was cooked perfectly. Not crunchy, not chewy, melt in your mouth bacon. It was the perfect breakfast for a band just passing through town.

Hmmm... So I asked the waitress what comes with the pancakes.... Nothing, just pancakes. 9$ for pancakes alone?! I guess they're really big. However, who can eat that much straight pancake?! Anyway, I ended up getting a single pancake with some proteins. Service was fine, food was decent. With so many other, special breakfast choices in the area, I don't foresee coming back.

I have a delicate stomach so there is not much I can eat (fruit or I sneak a bite here and there) but I go because my husband LOVES this place! It is 1oo times better the any IHOP. They are generous in the servings, it is very clean, and the service is wonderful!!

So far service is awesome I ordered blueberry pancakes they are fabulous. Great food great service great price. A must try.
(5)Jay J.
ya 5 stars ...awesome food ..it seams my friends and I go here quite a bit .all I can say is that every thing is good and clean ...
(5)Pip C.
Delicious pancakes! Big serves - glad I asked for 3 instead of 6, I wouldn't haven't got close to finishing! I had the choc chip and the boyf had the buttermilk, he also had a side of bacon. To be totally honest, the bacon wasn't the best we've had, but I guess this is a pancake house, not a bacon house. Great service, the servers were very nice!
(5)Courtney B.
The menu was nothing to brag about. The food was disappointing and plain. We also had 4 servers trying to wait on my boyfriend and I at the same time...
(2)Shelley M.
Everything is always perfect! Food is out of this world, service is always attentive! This is our favorite breakfast place!
(5)Sara M.
Obviously the people writing 5 star reviews for this place have never left Redmond, OR. This is a nation wide franchise. It's nothing special. It's just typical IHOP quality food. The manager does try to go above and beyond to be friendly. Just because people are giving this place 5 star reviews I felt I had to clear things up. It is just average breakfast food! Maybe slightly better than Shari's.

We have eaten at the Portland original pancake house and this one lives up to that quality. The food was mediocre and the service was great. The restaurant was clean. Both times we have eaten there we realize their options on the menu are not very flexible, especially for kids. It ends up being a pain having to substitute and add side dishes to get what we want. It is much more expensive then a IHOP or an Elmer's and the quality is about the same. They need to change their menu so that kids can get eggs, bacon, and a pancake instead of eggs or bacon or pancake. The adult choices are the same. In order to get eggs, bacon and a pancake to have to get side orders and they add up quickly. We will hit IHOP next time and save some money and make ordering easier.

So far, I've sat for 10 minutes waiting for a refill on my water... We were seated right away, and our waitress was super nice in giving us a quick review on the menu. We got our food pretty quick, and everything was hot and pretty delicious. The Eve Famous "Joe" was simple, but exactly what I wanted. The potatoes were hot and simple as well, perfect for me. Toast was a little too done, but good no less. My honeys corned beef hash and eggs were delicious, and his pancakes were amazing. My only complaint is that I was drinking water, and I sat literally 10 minutes before refills before they brought me a large glass. Their busser girl looked a little lost and confused every time she brought more water too. Overall, I'd go again.

The Original Pancake House is the best place I've ever had pancakes. They sure put IHOP to shame. You have several choices of pancakes, some that I've never even heard of before. Coconut pancakes? Bacon pancakes? This place is so cute, all wood inside, feels like you are in a cabin. Very Very clean too! The servers are very friendly and make you feel at home. Portions and Pancakes are huge. I tried the scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage and bacon pancakes! Everything was cooked to perfection and the BACON PANCAKES were delicious!!! We will definitely be back again!
(5)Kate C.
SOO GOOD! We ordered the signature apple pancake to share along with thick cut bacon which was perfect. My husband who usually is not a breakfast fan said he would eat breakfast every day if it was like this. Still dreaming about the food.
(5)Ed P.
It's like Ihop or Denny's...but more expensive. There's nothing particularly special about the food. When we visited the service was slow, and our server forgot part of our order...tracking down someone to bring the forgotten items wasn't easy. Wait time for a table was slow, but to be fair it was "brunch time" on a Sunday. The clientele was aged, but there were a few younger families sprinkled in. Had to wait for what seemed an unreasonably long time to pay our tab as well.

Where should you go for breakfast in Redmond? If you want to go small and local, try the One Street Down Cafe. They especially shine in the summer months when you can eat outdoors. Another downtown option is the Mustard Seed Cafe (closed since I initially wrote this review), but I've had mixed experiences. What place really thrills me? The Original Pancake House. I've been a fan of the 'original' Original in Portland for years. That location makes me feel like I've taken a trip back in time to Vermont. The Redmond location gives me the same happy feeling without the nostalgia. They have light wood walls and mishmash of china plates, but it is modern and bright and has a nice fireplace for those cold high desert mornings. I can't say enough good things about the service here. Good service is prompt, attentive and when they're really in the zone they anticipate your needs. High marks in all categories. It is also superior to the Portland location since they take credit cards and are open seven days a week. My favorite item on the menu is their signature dish, the Apple Pancake. I learned long ago, it is a dish that is meant to be shared. I love when it is served hot and puffed up like a chef's hat, only to settle into a pool of cinnamon and sauteed apples over a pancake. It is a special treat. However, my last few visits I've ordered the crepes with seasonal fresh fruit and if they have fresh peaches, that is my top pick. Their orange juice is also fantastic. Like their Portland location, they do not take reservations, but I got the sense from talking to the owner, that if you have a large party, they will probably set something up in advance to accommodate you. This location is still a bit of a secret, since it is not in downtown or on the main highway. It is very close to the Redmond Airport, and I learned that many diners check in for their flights, then come here for a meal. Much better than airport food! A couple bonus tips: On Tuesdays, seniors get a 10% discount on their meals. Also, we usually see a family of marmots in the field across from the restaurant. Just a fun little 'extra' for the kids.

Awesome breakfast! We're used to diners being from New England but this place had us beat. The bacon pancakes were amazing...sweet and salty. I loved their sausage links dipped in hot maple syrup. Portions are large and prices are just right for quality and service you receive. We will definitely be back!
(5)David M.
Overpriced carbohydrates with little choice of sides. No real combos to speak of, everything was ala carte, which added up to a 20$ breakfast plate before you know it. No kids menu. My wife and 3 young boys took me here and I said I would never come back. Sausages were burnt, juice was watered down, French toast was flat. The waitress was nice enough, but the environment was cold and sterile, like eating in a retirement center. Some basic plates for us, nothing fancy and I walked out 70$ poorer. Dennys blows this place away, if that means anything. I think they're coasting on a 50 year reputation and stopped trying a long time ago. Keep driving.

Terrible service! Food was no where near what other pancake houses taste like. I wish it was better because I love the pancakes house chain! Yuk yuk yuk. The owner knows this but seems not to care?
(1)Stacey B.
The only reason I'm giving them 1 star is because of the service! Our waitress was great, but the food sucked. My husband had the biscuits and gravy and didn't want to eat them because the gravy was "weird tasting." Their idea of biscuits are basically doughy Bisquick slabs, and the gravy had far too much thyme in it, so it tasted funny (also it had random chunks of ham, sliced link sausage, and basically whatever meat that was leftover in it. Made for weird texture). Also, we ordered a side of their "thick cut" ham, only to have it show up as a 1/8" slice of lunch meat type ham that had been slapped on the griddle for a bit. Sorry but that was NOT worth the money. The potatoes were bland, not at all crispy, and just not appealing. The only thing that was good were the scrambled eggs. Most breakfast places cook them to death so they are dry and rubbery. These were actually fluffy. For what we paid for breakfast though, it was incredibly bad food. We left very disappointed.

I have pretty high standards when it comes to breakfast, and this place has set the bar to new heights! I ordered the Joe with a side of buttermilk pancakes, and it was to die for. The egg/spinach dish was really good, but the pancakes were mind bending! Wished I had ordered a full order of cakes. They were light, fluffy, with a hint of sweetness and vanilla. They really didn't need syrup, they just melt in your mouth. Service was fast and polite, but it wasn't very crowded when I was there. Well worth the 3 mile walk I had to make for this delicious meal!
(5)Natalia D.
Everything you want in a restaurant: excellent service, spotlessly clean, great food! My personal favorite - the coconut pancakes. Unbelievably good! This is down home cookin' with good old fashioned customer service.
(5)Scott B.
No. It's a small chain of glorified I-hops. Yawn. It's that simple. The food was fine but not what you search on Yelp for... Five stars? Really? The service is not that great and everyones overly happy mood seems fake and forced.
(2)Tim G.
Clean place, friendly service. Now about the food... I had no complaint about my scrambled eggs, pretty generic. My "Canadian bacon" looked like slices of ham and was adequate. The accompanying pancakes were edible, not special. My coffee was just drinkable considering my need for a kick. I'd rate the food 2-3 stars. My wife loves "diner food", but found her potato pancakes inedible, "worst I've ever had" and she couldn't eat 2 bites. She couldn't believe any potatoes were involved. Her food rating "zero stars". (She did not add any stars for the huge portion size.) Lots of much better breakfast choices in the area. In Bend both Alpenglow and McKay's cottage have 5-star breakfasts-just divine. In Redmond One Street Down gets 4 stars. The service was fine and we left a 20% tip. I suspect both nostalgia and large portion sizes impacted other rave reviewers. We only ate there once an hour ago, and sure won't be going back.

Amazing food and service! Best bacon I have ever had. Pancakes are amazing as well. Not the cheapest breakfast out there, but well worth the extra cost. Highly recommend!

I used to live in Central Oregon and I moved out in the year 2000. Came back a few times and the last being in May 2011. So much has changed. On my second and final day on this Central Oregon trip, I came accross The Original Pancake House. I heard of it before but never seen one or been to one before. When I lived here, the lot where this place is was jsut desert with juniper trees and sage bursh. Anyway, the food was pretty good. I had the dutch baby that takes a bit longer and I can see why. I had a dutch baby before at a place called Elmers in Hillsboro, Oregon. Pancake houses Dutch baby can eat Elmer's one for breakfast. The thing is huge and they give you a side of lemons and power sugar and FRESH squeezed orange juice. Its nice to see them have fresh squeezed instead of cartons or a bag that is despensed out of a machine. The inside is nice and cozy. Huge fire place, wood walls, wide and open with lots of natual light.

I stayed with my father for over a month in Redmond, and must have eaten at this Pancake House a good 6 times. Being from California, I totally fell in love with this place. Great service..fantastic pancakes..staff was awesome..place was very clean. Coming home, I was surprised to find there are some locations near me in California.. reading their reviews here, doesn't sound as good as Oregon. I'll still check it out.. Sure miss Oregon.. Thanks Redmond Pancake House for the great visits and wonderful food.. I will be back for sure!!

Great variety of pancakes and nice clean restaurant.

Hands down the best breakfast in Redmond! Go in starving and leave with food on your plate and stuffed! Great All-American place always good service! Food is great for a diner setting breakfast place! Just make sure to get in before church gets out on Sundays or you'll be wait listed for a while!
(5)Patty S.
This place ROCKS the pancakes! enough said!
(5)Dave B.
Friendly service. Delicious food. We've tried the strawberry waffles, chocolate chip pancakes, pecan pancakes, and bacon pancakes. All of it was delicious and I'll definitely be going back. Possibly the best pancakes/waffles I've ever had.
(5)Colleen P.
"Best breakfast I've ever had." that is what my extremely picky hard to please dad kept saying after we left. He had the bacon pancake and sausage. I had the Dutch baby which was phenom! My hubby had blueberry cakes. Thick bacon and smoked ham. Outstanding!!!!
(5)Beckie S.
I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was absolutely scrumptious. Very nice atmosphere. Our group reflected a variety of orders from a healthy vegetable-egg scramble to the dessert-like favorite Dutch Baby. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I recommend The Original Pancake House wholeheartedly. You will not be disappointed.
