I realize others have elaborated enough on their reviews, so I won't pose as the broken record. My review is: everything they said to the T, plus infinity. This place is awesome! Period. Granted, I have never stayed at a B&B before and don't expect many, if any, to be as detailed, professional and as 5-star as Wendy's was. We stayed in the Wine Cellar suite in the basement. There's literally an amazing wine cellar down their with a huge wooden castle-esque type door. The breakfast was exquisite..again, I won't repeat. Stay Here. You won't regret it!

My daughter and I celebrated her 25th birthday with 3 nights at this B&B in February 2015. Wendy seemed burnt out with all the responsibilities involved in running a B&B. The breakfasts which previous guests raved about were mediocre. The french toast was made with crusts of bread and were tough, the eggs rubbery and she never once made the fresh baked scones or muffins during our stay that previous guests had enjoyed. The coffee was hot and delicious. The Wine Cellar Suite was disappointing - only the bedroom had a lock so any other guest could enter our space at will; the heater was extremely loud throughout the night and made a disruptive dripping noise that kept waking us up; the ejector pump made such a loud noise every time the toilet was flushed or we showered that Wendy voluntarily gave us a $50 credit for our stay ( considering that our room was $175/night this was a negligible credit). The complimentary bottle of wine was an inexpensive bottle of "two buck chuck" from Trader Joes market. The fresh baked cookies that supposedly were offered each afternoon were never baked during our 3 day stay. Wendy said she forgot when I asked at the end of our stay. Many details that previous guests enjoyed seem to have been forgotten during our stay. The house itself is lovely and the neighborhood is safe and charming. Hopefully our negative experience was a fluke and Wendy will be back on top of her game in the future.

My wife and I spent three wonderful days at the Fulton House B & B in July 2014. We loved everything about it: the gracious owner (Wendy), the gourmet breakfasts, and the spacious and comfortable room. Wendy is the best of hosts-- congenial, very friendly, and offering generous and delectable breakfasts (which she prepares herself!). Each morning we enjoyed a bountiful array of fresh berries, while the main dish varied. One day it was the most decadent french toast ever, made from croissants. Another day, we had delicious homemade biscuits with locally made sausages. On the third morning we savored a homemade quiche. Wow! We loved our spacious room (the Blue Heron), which has a private patio. The bathroom was large and very clean and had high-quality towels. The room felt very private and we slept well each night! We're already looking forward to our next trip to Portland-- and to Fulton House B & B!

Fulton House is a master class on being a B and B. The gracious, fun and organized innkeeper, Wendy, had fresh baked chocolate chip cookies in our room in addition to a bottle of wine. The attention to detail was everywhere, amenities, ambiance, furnishings, breakfast. There was even a croquette set in our closet with the hint of playing them in the park just a few blocks away. We were in the verandah room which was large and has a long private porch. We enjoyed spending time sipping wine, reading and entertaining our friends on the verandah. The home is in a tree lined older neighborhood near the Wilamette river and was close to everything we did. We happened to be visiting during the hottest days of the summer, and the verandah room has no AC. A fan was running but even with all the windows open it was too hot to sleep comfortably. All of the other rooms have AC. We do not think the hot weather poses a problem very often, but AC would have made our stay more comfortable. We met friends from out of town in Portland and they also stayed at the Fulton House, in the basement suite which they loved. Large and spacious, like your own apartment. Wendy's breakfast were delicious, she skimped on nothing. Everything we could have wanted was there. OMG, still can recall how good her croissant french toast is. One morning Wendy was not going to be available to serve us breakfast and offered a choice of items she could leave out in the morning, or a gift card to use at a cafe, the Buffalo Gap, just a block and a half away. Very thoughtful! We have stayed at close to 30 B&B 's and this one is at the top of the list. Highly recommend and will stay again should the opportunity to go to Portland comes our way again.

My husband grew up in this house, so when we found out it was a Bed & Breakfast, we had to stay. It is everything you'd expect in a Bed & Breakfast. It is comfortable, clean, quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed chatting with the owner-- my husband enjoyed sharing stories about growing up in that house. The owner is just lovely. We often recommend this place to our friends, even those who live in town. It's a nice place to get away. If you need to unwind, but don't have time to get out of town, this is the place for you. The breakfasts can't be beat. One of my all-time favorite Bed & Breakfasts.

My husband and I stayed here on a birthday/anniversary trip in mid September. We stayed in the Blue Heron room. I couldn't believe the entire upstairs porch was for us alone! It was so beautiful-like the rest of the house. We loved being able to enjoy Wendy's local wine selection on that porch. The surrounding neighborhood was very charming and full of beautiful houses, too. We found the location perfect as we ventured into Downtown Portland. Wendy was an amazing host that cooked up some delicious breakfasts! She offered numerous tips and suggestions as we ventured out each morning. We loved our stay and would definitely stay again!

Amazing breakfast! Great b&b...very cute yard and cool stuff to walk to! I would definitely recommend this place and hope to stay here again if I am ever in the area.....and a bottle of wine in the room! Woohoo :-) I stayed in the summer and there was an AC in the room if needed as well as a fridge in the hallway if needed. Great place!

This bed and breakfast was absolutely lovely! We stayed here for two days while we checked out the sights in Portland. Our hosts, Wendy and John were extremely hospitable and very kind and respectful of our privacy. This B&B is a historical three story home with basement. There are two rooms to chose, the Wine Cellar Suite and the Blue Heron Room. We had the Wine Cellar Suite and got more than we expected. This bed and breakfast is extremely clean, beautifully decorated to its theme, and has an excellent breakfast. Although they offer breakfast, the B&B is minutes away from the city and just a walk away from some great restaurants and area brew-houses. During our stay, we had two different luscious quiches, two kinds of fresh baked flaky sweet pastries, yogurts with fresh fruit and granola, teas, juices, coffees. It was absolutely delicious. It beats going out and searching for a place to eat breakfast. We were very impressed of what they had to offer compared to a hotel of the same price. There were so many amenities that came with our room we were very delighted. Things such as board games and trivia games in the cabinet, outdoor gear if we needed it, a cooler full of free soda pop, water, and wine, and the list goes on. Oh, did I mention the hot-tub and koi pond? It was just so very generous and thoughtful. Next time we're in Portland, we will no doubt stay at this bed and breakfast. Simply because it is clean, comfortable, and just a wonderful relaxing and quiet place to stay when you want to feel at home. Great for couples (the wine suite can probably hold 2 couples). Good For: feel 'at home' experience

Everything about our stay was wonderful. The breakfast was exception in freshness, taste and amount. The room was cozy, comfortable and clean, with a wonderful balcony overlooking the inviting neighborhood, two blocks from the river and in walking distance to good restaurants. Wendy, the owner, is gracious, helpful, funny, and warm.
