My food was so bad I walked out. I had been once before, maybe two months ago. The food was good the first time, the staff was pleasant. I went again with a friend. He ordered the pork short ribs. I ordered pad se ew. Both of the dishes were flavorless. His ribs were way over done as well as flavorless. I would be surprised if they even had salt and pepper on them! My pad se ew was oily and bland. We couldn't even get a servers attention to let them know what the food was like. We decided it was better to leave hungry than try to digest such awful fare.

I don't want to brag (or maybe admit it), but I'm a Thai food expert. Ever since I was 5, it's been my go-to cuisine. I've tried Thai food at just about every location in SW Portland & Lake Oswego. I originally stumbled upon Thai PK because it's on my route home from work. The traffic was a mess and I was starving and there I found myself. It's now my favorite Thai place in the city. It's not flashy, busy or fancy... And that's why I love it. Why also do I love it? The staff is SO nice, the service is SO fast, the dishes are $1-2 cheaper than anywhere nearby and the food is SO good. I always leave happy and fulfilled. Always. It's nice having a place to rely on where you can tell they appreciate your business, take pride in their food and work hard to provide you with a great experience.

The food was mediocre. I ordered the Salmon Panang Curry. The salmon was overcooked, the veggies were bland, and there was very little sauce. It definitely wasn't worth the $13 price.

We came here on Saturday night, just after 9pm. We had planned to go to the Hawaiian BBQ next door, but they closed at 9. There were 5 of us, and we were the only ones in the restaurant. I attribute this to the neighborhood - it looked very sleepy, like the sidewalks rolled up at 9. Two in our party had pad thai, one with no peanuts, two had beef skewers with sticky rice, and I had spicy chicken fried rice. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals, but I have to say that my spicy chicken fried rice was not at all spicy. I guess I should have told them to turn up the heat. I asked for chilies which helped. By the time we were done, they were ready for us to leave so that they could go home. We appreciated them staying open late for us.

The food was good, but that's where the good ends. The service was horrendous. We paid with three cards and she comes back and tells us hat she put it all on one card... What!? There was a reason we gave her three cards... to SPLIT up the bill. She pretended like nothing happened and now we have to do the awkward I-O-U thing.

Really good Thai food! Ordered classic pad Thai with chicken. It had really good flavors, noodles cooked perfectly. The Boyfriend ordered chicken and substituted white rice. He liked the chicken, but I would come back here just for the rice! Good service, good location, not busy at night. Found out they deliver for free if you live close and spend $25!

I used to eat here frequently until I FOUND BUGS IN THE SPICE TRAYS. I will never give a 1 unless the restaurant deserves it. BELIVE ME PK THAI DESERVES A 1. That is right friends, living breeding flies right there in the spice tray. I even gave the restaurant the opportunity for redemption. I calmly walked the tray and my now infested dish to the counter. The little old lady, who I used to think of as sweet, simply took the tray and the dish. She said nothing, and a new one was brought to me. There was no apology, and they didn't event rinse our spice tray. They just dumped out what was in there and then refilled it. Not up to health code. Do not eat here.

How do you know a thai restaurant is worth going to? Look for typos. That is the first sign that you have some really authentic shizznatch on your hands. When you tell them you want something really spicy, they don't hold back. I think they intentionally try and burn your face off, and I like that. They are also kind to the heat hater-raders and hold back on the spicy if you don't dig it. They will do their thai iced tea or coffee with all coconut milk instead of using milk, so as a vegan I appreciate that. This place is also wicked affordable. I can go to dinner and split an entree for $9 if I'm in a cheapo mood, but I can also splurge and get my own and walk away spending less than $20 on dinner for two. Great deal! If you throw in appetizers/drinks then you are going to spend like $15 a person, but we're talking peanuts here. This is great for groups too.

Ordered takeout: Chicken Pad Thai and Salad Rolls Pad Thai was not pleasant. Noodles were clumped together and it tasted like it had been tossed in a pan that recently burnt something...gross. Salad Rolls were the worst I ever had. They were small and lacked lettuce, instead they had an extra layer of rice paper making them super chewy. Very Unimpressed.

I love the yellow curry that comes with a bowl of rice. I mix in the rice as I eat, so I always end up with a second meal later that night. I've eaten in about a dozen Thai places in town, plus some carts. This is my favorite yellow curry.

For lunch time thai food, this place is pretty good. It's not the best thai food that I've ever had, but with all of the thai restaurants in Portland, it makes for a good lunch spot. The ambiance is what you would expect to find in a thai food restaurant in a strip mall, but the staff is great and the service is quick. I get the Panang Curry and it hits the spot. Their spicing varies depending on who is the cook though for sure. I've had 1-2 on the spice scale that has made my nose water for hours, but then 3's that leave some spice to be desired. They loose one star because I tend to order my curry with tofu (not a veggie, but I like how they make their tofu), and one time I found a piece of beef in it. Vegetarians beware!!

I have been to many Thai restaurants, in fact I run a dining group and we eat at restaurants all over town. I was very disappointed in the food. Granted I only had two dishes - the Thai Salad and the Pad Ke Mao but neither even met average in my opinion. The Thai salad was not exciting. It was a small amount of romaine lettuce chopped up for the most part with thick chunky peanut sauce squirted in a few strips across it and instead of a liquid like dressing that could sink into the salad this blob just sort of sat on the top. There was about one slice of tomato, one slice of cucumber and 4 mung bean sprouts to complete the salad and a hard boiled egg sliced on the side (the egg looked nice). A hand full of chopped up romaine with a blob of peanut sauce is not a very inspired Thai salad - in fact it was the worst Thai salad I have ever had. (I asked for more mung bean sprouts - the waiter did bring me more but seemed surprised that I thought it needed more.) The Pad Ke Mao is normally a rich dish with the sweet fat rice noodles and the nice pieces of chicken. While their version had both the chicken and the noodles - the whole dish had turned dark brown due to what I believe was and over abundance of soy sauce. The subtle flavors of other spices and the chicken were completely lost and it was not very spicy. (I had asked for spicy). While it was palatable it was both uninspiring flavor-wise and not appealing visually. Neither the Pad Ke Mao or the Thai Salad were served with lime either in the dressing or on the side. I have always had lime served to me with my Thai food - not sure if that is authentic or an American twist but it was noticeably missing and would have helped the flavors of both dishes. I read the other reviews and maybe the other dishes are great. Maybe it was just a different cook ( I was there on a Sunday if that matters). Maybe it was just an off day. The other diners did seem happy, the setting was pleasant with nice decor, and the staff was friendly and offered good service. I don't want to discourage anyone from patronizing this business, rather I would hope that this business would take note from this review and revise and improve these two dishes or if it is an off day for them strive for more consistency.

Just a quick review: I ordered their Thai BBQ chicken. It was awful. Sorry! The staff was friendly, so I decided to give an extra star. You might want to think twice about demanding "extra spicy" for their already spicy items. I don't think I am coming back anytime soon.

  • Mike J.

I had a fine meal here... expectations met. It's standard Thai fare done just as you think it should be done. Strip mall-esque decor is interesting too! Looking for a quick meal and don't feel like a burger... this place has you covered. I'd eat here again, but I would not go out of my way. The prices are good, there's booze on the menu and the food is tasty - not a bad combination in my book!

This place was a staple for me when I was in Portland. I think I probably ate there every week. The servers are always friendly and on top of it. Now that I've moved away, I do miss it. Fortunately, I was just in Portland, and was able to get there for a meal. It was great. I've never had the Pad Thai, so I am not sure why the other folks reviewing didn't care for it. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall on Macadam. The furnishings are what you would expect from a typical Thai restaurant. They do have cloth napkins, which I am keen on.

This has been sitting in my unfinished reviews forever. What is there to say really? There's an unnecessary amount of thai food in this city. A lot are good, a lot are terrible, few are extraordinary. This one is pretty good. Most dishes are under $10 and portions are generous. The pad thai would have taken me three meals to get through. They'll spice up any dish if you ask and offer additional hot sauces. Their salad rolls were bomb. They even have a few decent beers on tap and more options in bottles including your standard thai and other asian beers. Most of their business is take out so expect the waitstaff to be frantically answering phones and prepping to-go orders, but the service was still friendly and relatively prompt dining in. Make sure to grab a to-go menu as they have a couple coupons on the front. They also boast a pretty decent HH. 3-5 I believe every day, most expensive menu item is the $5 pad thai.

  • Brice B.

I don't have too many lunchtime staples. I try to stay away from carry out during the week, since my girlish figure is already under threat. Thai PK is one of the few places near work that can hook me up with a decent take out lunch that doesn't add to my gut. For my money, the Larb Salad and the Lemongrass Chicken Salad are two of the best things on the menu. Both are tasty and healthy, which can be tough to find. The staff are all very friendly, and they all speak Thai when they work. I find that pretty reassuring for some reason. It's strip mall Thai with a twist. The twist is that it doesn't suck. Surprise!

Best thai food of my life...maybe not, but certainly better than some of the unfortunate mishaps I have stumbled upon on my quest for Portland's best. Does it not seem like Thai always comes in one of three categories.. . First you have what us Jews call "dreck," for those of you non Jews that translates in to 1 star, or 2 if you are like me and feel bad about giving any establishments 1 star unless you have been blatantly mistreated or offended by grossness. The second category is where most of Portland's thai food falls, which is decent, even good but not rock your socks amazing. The final category is the quintessential the top of the top. A place that you find yourself always eating at. I have yet to find anything in Portland that is in the final category but have found Thai PK a restaurant that keeps me happy when I am in need of some curry. I usually tend towards red curry but after taking the advice of some other yelpers and trying the yellow curry I understand why so many people have written about it. The yellow curry at Thai PK is probably the best thing I have had. If your in the mood for something else the Kra Pao which is perfect if your looking for something with a kick. One negative I have to note is that the fried tofu at Thai PK is hardly fried. I mean come on I cant be the only person who does not enjoy the slimy texture of tofu and wants it fried enough to mask the weird texture. The service is wonderful and the staff is always so friendly and welcoming.

I was in town for training and found this place close to my class and ended up eating there twice. The service is wonderful and the food is good. They have a nice variety of spices for you to add to your dish which I really enjoyed. I can't give it 5 stars because it wasn't "blew me away" good but very solid and I would definitely eat there again.

I'm so happy to live so close to this restaurant, as you can find Thai food on almost every corner in every quadrant of PDX. Their Thai bbq chicken is the best in PDX. I can only think one other place that prepares it correctly, and it's in Seattle! Thai bbq chicken is just that: Thai bbq chicken. It ain't American, Southern, or any other style but Thai and it's so delicious & tender & juicy! My 2nd favorite dish is their pad see ew, perfectly savory & toothsome! Most everything I've had on their menu has pleased me, the only misfires were rotating specials that sounded good in theory but didn't live up to the flavor expectation from the description.

I used to be a bigger fan of Thai PK than I am now. I get take-out here for lunch pretty often because its right up the street from my work. I have noticed lately that they have been putting fewer pieces of meat in the food when i call in a to-go order. I order either Pad Thai or Yellow Curry with Shrimp. they used to put like 6-8 pieces of shrimp. Now i get 4 shrimp if i'm lucky. Sometimes its just tails with no shrimp attached??? And also when i order over the phone i make sure to emphasize "NO spicy" "NO spicy at all". But when i get back to work and start eating, it almost rips my face off its so spicy; as in, inedibly hot. Otherwise its really good. They get 3 Stars for less food in take-out orders and making shit spicy when i say not to. Also one less star for being a little expensive.

This was a tasty surprise. There isn't much of selection of Thai places in SW so I picked this because of it's proximity to the house. So Good! I've only called in to go orders, which is a feat in it's self since they don't really have a menu online. Found some pictures of the menu somewhere... once they sent me home with an item I'm, pretty sure I didn't order, but it was still fantastic.

Date Visited: Monday 4/28/08 (Dinner) Rode the 35 bus towards Oregon City from downtown Portland and nearly got dropped off right at this restaurant's doorstep. That rocks! As a Trimet junkie of sorts, I really appreciate restaurants that are situated right by a local stop. I have never been to John's Landing, but I must say that I liked the area that this restaurant was in. Thankfully, my dinner companion was vegetarian-friendly, so we ordered both of my favorite dishes (nothing fancy, but safe for a first try anywhere) - the Pad See Ew and the Spicy Basil Fried Rice. Both were really good and had good flavor to them. Neither dish was incredible, but it's not an expensive restaurant and you just shouldn't expect too much when paying less than $9 for a dish. The Thai Iced Tea wasn't bad, but the menu didn't mention anything about refills (so I only got one....though I could have drank 2 or 3, I'm sure). Service was not too bad. They served us quick and we got our food quick, but then they never seemed to come back. We finally got "To Go" containers and our check. I'd definitely go back if I happen to find myself in the area again.

I love this place. Been here multiple times -- only take-out, but the food has always been excellent. Flavors are wonderful -- they have brown rice -- and they package your food perfect (even poking holes in the plastic so the steam won't ruin certain items). They also have very creative, delicious specials. My mouth has already started to drool just thinking about Thai PK and I still have some leftovers in the fridge. One warning -- their "mild" tends to be more medium to spicy. We usually order "no spice" or "very very mild" with the spice on the side, and then do it up at home.

I ventured into this Thai establishment because Hawaiian Grill (next door) was having a kitchen meltdown! The first thing you hear as you walk in is the music stemming from the Karaoke Machine. There is a TV behind the bar that displays the lyrics. Its all Thai. As you move towards the seating booths you are surrounded by the aroma. That familiar yet unmistakable Thai Smell that tells you that your standing in a Thai Restaurant and not some Chinese Place. And there is a subtle scent of incense comming from somewhere within the area. And if you look over your shoulder towards the bar you can see MaMa San slaving over a hot stove. While her 2 daughters (?) greet customers. Of course theres Curry here! And Crab, And Chicken among other things. The crab special cost me 15 bucks! Hot dam. Another indication I'm not in a Chinese Restaurant. Plus they don't serve you free tea like some Chinese places. You get water from the sink. When my plate arrived, there was a mound of king crab glittered over a pile of seasoned rice mixed with bits of egg. A couple slices of cucumber and some other stuff. I don't think the crab was fresh, it didnt have that fresh taste. More like frozen crab taste, but nonethless it was still good. The dished comprimised of seasoning and no sauce, wasn't spicy or tangy. Just flavorful as I devoured each moursel into my big fat mouth. Hell yeah cost me 15 bucks! Pros: Generous Proportions, Good Restaurant Layout, Thai Karaoke, Right off the Main Road (Easy to Find), Parking, Picture Menus !!! Hot Thai Waitress Cons: Some stuff is pricey, Thai Karaoke, Small Bar

Two words: quiet and fast. I have never been to Thai PK when it was full. Too bad, cuz the food is just fine by me. the staff is friendly. This is a goo dspot for that quiet meal with a special someone. I live near by, and I get take out here often-always delicious with a capital D

Ordered chicken pad thai and it was HORRIBLE, came with only noodles and chicken. There was nothing else on it, the service was good however the food was bad. I would not suggest this place to anyone.

  • Layne M.

Far and away the worst Thai food I have ever eaten. Food ordered medium hot but there was no heat whatsover. Gloopy clumps of stuck together noodles. Undercooked vegetables. Cloying, sickeningly sweet oily sauce. Beverage glasses tasted soapy. Check placed on table with entrees. Ordinarily this offends me but in this case I was eager to leave. Alas, it took for ever for server to pick up payment...

Num!!! We gave this place a shot (based on Yelp reviews of course) and were not disappointed. Lunch was reasonably priced, delicious and the service was great!! This place is a great little gem!

  • Kathleen B.

The favorites that I always order are solid. I'm a pad see-ew fanatic, and theirs is the perfect take-out item, a blend of salty and sweet with lots of little eggy bits. Mr. T thought their pad thai was also first-rate.We also always order green curry chicken (hot is not too hot) which is delightful. The place definitely has kind of a fast-food vibe; big laminated plastic menus with glossy pictures of the food, etc. This isn't a fancy date-night place or anything but it does the trick. This is my favorite neighborhood take-out.

  • Dean H.

I'm officially addicted to their chicken Pad Thai and can't go more than a few days without a fix. I've tried other items - curries, etc. and all are equally as fantastic. Service is stellar & friendly the portions are healthy and food comes out of the kitchen quick.

I see I'm not the only fan of this place but I just have to add that it is soooo good. Fast, friendly service...amazing food. My husband and I split the dinner orders because they are so large. I recommend this place to everybody.

I like to go here for lunch, since it's close to my work. It's really good Thai food, and they're always really nice. One time my boss got dinner there and wanted to have the left-overs for lunch, and wanted more peanut sauce and they gave it to her for free! They even remembered her from the night before. I really like this place =D

I love thai PK!! always quick and delicious for take out or eat in... I usually get Red Curry with pineapple instead of eggplant, or the pad se ew. They are super friendly and convenient.

My husband and I have tried a good amount of Thai food all over this country and this has remained our absolute favorite. This is the first place we eat out when we've been out of town for awhile. It used to be "Bai Tong Restaurant," until it changed owners a few years ago. To our surprise and delight, it actually changed for the better, a feat we didn't think was even possible. The family-owned service is friendly and devoted to customer satisfaction. The location is convenient, with ample parking. There's never a wait for dining or take out. The food is excellent, consistent, and fresh. Spice is right on target with what I'd expect to find in a mild, medium, or spicy level. I've tried a good variety of items on the menu and have never been disappointed...now we're even hiring them to cater events at work! Everyone loves the food. You would be wise to choose Thai PK!

  • Zara L.

Like the previous reviewer, we ended up here because the restaurant we originally wanted to go to was closed. But I'm really glad we did! We've been back several times and the service and food have been very consistent. There are hardly ever other people here so it's a nice place to come and relax. I love the Thai karaoke heroes on the TV above the bar and the 30 foot vaulted ceiling. Food-wise, traditional Thai favorites like phad thai, yellow curry, and basil fried rice are all very good. With tofu the standards are $8.95 or $9.95 with meat or shrimp. Also a good take-out place if you're in John's Landing.

I love Thai food and I have really craving thai the last couple days. I work off of Macadam and I found this place had good reviews and was just up the street from me so I decided to check it out. The place was decently busy, a great size (parking sucks) and the staff were all super nice. I had a thai iced tea and pad see ew. It was delicious. I would recommend if you are looking for a good place to eat lunch or dinner in St, John's Landing/Macadam area. Great lunch prices!

Affordable and good, it's worth going to. Not the best thai food I've had in Portland, but it is up there. I got the drunken noodles ($8.95), and a large glass of wine ($5.50). I had plenty of leftovers too. Check it out!

I am on the edge of a 2/3 star review, I decided to go with three stars in the end. Overall - the food was OK, it wasn't great - it wasn't bad. I like certain Thai foods, I go for Thai Curry, I find the addition of coconut milk gives a savory yet slightly sweet lemon grassy, Thai chili, fish sauce amazingness. So, my American view on American Thai is, I am sure, skewed. The service was good, there were only two other people in the restaurant, our server was fast and friendly. The table got an order of the Crab Rangoons, I will pass next time. Not very much filling and they do a flattened wonton - then again its not really Thai either, but it wasn't appetizing. I ordered the Red Curry, Chicken - very hot. The curry itself was good - possibly a pre bought paste like Mae Ploy. I wish they would have used additional paste for flavor and heat, some chopped up Thai Chili at the end would have brought up the heat level to where I wanted it. Also, I have a feeling they used American Eggplant or Japanese Eggplant, I am going to guess Japanese because of the purple instead of black color - these eggplants tend to get mushy in curry. I am surprised they didn't use Thai Eggplant, we have lots of Asian markets on 82nd. (maybe not in season?) I probably will come back when I get a craving for some Thai Curry, its so close to my house it would be too convenient to pass up.

So my bf and I are driving around johns landing area and he said he remembered seeing a Thai restaurant around there... I have never had Thai and don't even like this type of food BUT that all changed when we got there I love fried shrimp so of course I order the coconut shrimp (5 pieces to the order) They were at our table in less that 13 minutes!! And the were AMAZING! Our meals that were ordered where so good I over stuffed myself!! Needless to say I am now a can of Thai. The staff was also Very friendly and the establishment is kept very clean/inviting. I've posted some pictures of our food! For sure goin to come back here a a lot!

We tried Thai PK for the first time tonight after reading the Yelp reviews. We ordered the coconut shrimp appetizer which was very nice. We ordered the Crispy Duck and asked that they put it in Panang curry which they were very agreeable to. It was wonderful, some of the best crispy duck we have had. We also had the crispy catfish which was very good. My only suggestion is that the restaurant was very cold, I wish it was a little warmer. But great service and a great meal.

I find compromised ethnic cuisine experience to be a sad one. Surely the owners wouldn't eat the stuff like this. Represent and share with us the food you would serve to your own family. That's all. I'm not coming back for the bland taste-adjusted to the "can you make it not spicy?" crowd focused food. There are hundreds of these watered down restaurants in town already. The restaurant is in a very pleasant space staffed with lovely wait staff. B+ Salad rolls were fresh; however, there was no taste of fresh herbs you'd normally find in them. Peanut sauce was tasty but rather sweet. C Pad see ew was a disappointment. There were broccoli florets and no chile/ heat whatsoever. Why so timid? D

So far, the Thai food in this town, like most of the other cuisine, has fallen way short of the locals' raves. So, as has been very helpful so far, I tried PK with low expectations. And sure enough, it's pretty good. The eggplant curry (with extra eggplant) has been my favorite so far. They also do a good Pad See Ew. The spring rolls are a pass, but the salad rolls are pretty good, and come with a nice peanut sauce. Take-out orders are usually pretty quick, although sometimes you need to call a million times before someone answers the phone. If you can actually reach someone on the other line, they also do delivery in the neighborhood (minimum order of $20 or $25, I think). In sum: the food is actually good, it is reasonably priced, and there is abundant parking - a triad you will almost never see in this culinary Potemkin Village.

Thai PK is some of the best Thai food I've had in Portland. It's affordable, fast and very yummy! If you are eating in or ordering to-go, service is prompt and accommodating. Definitely try the hot thai tea while you're waiting, it's delicious! As far as food goes, I recommend ordering at least one stir fry, one curry and a fried rice or salad rolls for a side. The pumpkin curry salmon I had on my last visit was amazing, I highly recommend it! Easy accessibility located on Macadam in SW, parking isn't stressful and you can get back on your way to Portland or Lake O conveniently. I say this place is a winner!

  • Elaine V.

Disappointing Thai food. Neither dish we ordered was very flavorful. The pad Thai was a bit mushy and seemed short of common ingredients including peanut bits and egg. The curry sauce smelled good but was thin. It seemed watered down and lacking coconut milk.

  • Jenni D.

I'm ashamed to say that I've been eating here for two years and somehow forgot to put in a review! Thai PK is my solid, go-to, consistent, neighborhood thai spot. They are always friendly and my carryout orders are ready in under 15 minutes! The Pad Thai is a good choice if you are looking for some leftovers (they are very generous with portion size), and the Panang Curry is just spicy enough to enhance the flavor. One of my absolute favorites is the Chicken Satay - three skewers of thinly sliced chicken with peanut sauce on the side... YUM. Their sticky rice is also super tasty, so don't miss out on a hearty helping if you saved enough room.

Thai PK is good simple thai food, it is fresh and comes quickly. Good for both lunch and dinner. It is casual inside, with booths and a tv playing sports ect. It is a good place for kids, as it is both affordable and has plenty of options. Not the best thai food ever but you can't go around with going here. If you looking for simple American thai, this is good!

This place used to be our go to Thai restaurant in the johns landing area but it has gone downhill fast! Curry is like water and noodles are mushy. The quality isn't what it used to be and the portion size got cut in half but the prices remained the same. They are one of the few places that will deliver to the ohsu campus area but it's now worth the drive to somewhere else. If you want to spend $30 on Thai for two but get very little food that tastes like it came from a can go here. Otherwise do yourself a favor and head elsewhere.

If you're in John's Landing and you want some Thai food, eat here and be content. Good food, good prices, with parking to boot. Pad See Ew seemed a bit sweet at first, but then I couldn't stop eating it. My date really liked the Massaman curry. No complaints here!

A good stand by for take out. Very large portions. One dish can serve two people, or be leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Lots of vegetarian options also. Only two complaints; 1) The chicken is cut the size of two bites, so I usually have to cut the chicken up smaller when I get it home. 2) There is always confusion ordering over the phone, so I just walk-in to order to go and wait for 5-10 minutes.

After 6.5 hours on the road the last thing I wanted to do was sit in a restaurant but I desperately needed the rejuvenating effects of a green papaya salad. Like Popeye and his spinach, the minute I eat the stuff I feel invigorated and stronger, and ready to kick Bluto's behind in my quest for supremacy. The restaurant was tastefully decorated and large, seeming particularly cavernous on a Sunday afternoon, with hardly a soul inside. Service was fast, efficient and warm, and the food came out very quickly. I ordered fresh salad rolls and the salad, which were both good but quite solidly in the realm of 3 to 3.5 stars. Prices were fair and again, right in the middle. While not especially thrilling, my meal filled all my needs.

Wonderful service! The lunch portion was perfect. They even let me hop on the wifi, which was much appreciated. I would highly recommend Thai PK!

I ordered Pad Thai; it was ok, free WiFi & cute servers. I guess the most impressive thing (for me) was the Bird lap napkin! :)

I love Thai PK. Their Massaman Curry is some of the best I've had, and their portions are just right. The only problem is that the Massaman Curry is so good, I rarely ever try anything else. I would recommend going to this place if you're looking for good, solid Thai food. Their pricing is fair, and the location is great, as it's right off Macadam.

I work at an office near by...we either call in or walk in take make our orders..they are always great!...I LOVE the Chicken Pad Thai....if you go in during the lunch hour they are very busy and your order may not be as greatly presented as when you go around 2-3 pm for lunch but the taste is good... I do not have anything negative to say about this place...the service is always great! and food AMAZING!

Awesome place! I'm from out of town and this was the closest Thai place to my hotel so I gave it a try after reading the reviews on Yelp. I think it's a family-owned business and they seem to be doing a great job. I went there on a Monday evening and liked the food/service so much that I returned the next evening. Service was fantastic. Quick but not forceful - never felt rushed. Food was tasty, plentiful and cooked to order. Over two meals I tried the salad rolls (ordered them on each visit!), the Tom Kha soup and the Green Curry. Each dish was so so so good and made to the level of spiciness that was requested. Can't say enough how much I enjoyed this place.

I eat here 3 or more times a week, I try somewhere else and it just isn't as satisfying, these are the friendliest, happiest people, food is always fresh, their salad rolls are the best. I have spent twice as much else where and left wondering why I just didn't go to Thai PK. Very good food, at a very reasonable price.

One of my favorite to-go thai restaurants! They offer free delivery for orders over $25. My personal favorite is the pineapple fried rice, but their other dishes are very good too. The staff is always friendly whenever I do eat at the restaurant.

My boyfriend and I went to eat here. After the waitress delivered our food we realized the dish was not what we ordered after taking some bites. We told the waitress and watched in shock and she redelivered the same dish we had been eating off of to the correct table.

I thought my chicken pad Thai was delicious! The flavor was excellent. My friend ordered the tom kha soup and the Thai beef salad and loved her lunch also. Good service and friendly staff. I'm only giving it 4 stars because the bathroom was dirty. I'd give it a 3.5 because of this if I could.

We came here for dinner with some friends who worked in the area. The service was good and it was nice and clean inside. The food tasted good and they had all our favorite dishes, there just wasn't anything that really stood out to us. It looks like they do have a lot of regulars by the amount of takeout being picked up too.

My wife and I stopped in here after a trip to OHSU to beat the traffic. What a great surprise! The food here was amazing. The chicken was the freshest that I've ever had in pad thai. Will definitely be stopping here again.

I've never had a bad meal here, I love how close it is to my house, I love how quick the food comes out! The downfall is the servers aren't incredibly friendly and I wouldn't say it feels very clean. I'll still consistently go but I don't know if I'd tell you to go.

Was OK. Tried Pad Thai. The sauce was too sweet. The service was good. Other dishes that other people ordered looked good, however.

Decent Thai at reasonable prices. I usually stick with the pad thai and it has hit the mark each time. The curries are not bad but when I ask for something face meltingly hot that really means I handle what you dish out. The cooks don't seem to believe me and I have yet another mild dish on my hands.

Really good food and friendly service .We frequent this place as it is close to some friends' work place . I have eaten at most thai places in the town and this is my top five favorite .My all time thai favorite is the thai Tomkha soup and it's really good here .Though quite far from home we like to frequent this as dining here always makes me happy (good food + very friendly service )

After walking 5 miles on the waterfront and back, my friends succumbed to defeat and wanted to eat out. I think the smells coming from Thai PK more lot to do with them being "hungry" than actual hunger pangs. I was good and didn't eat, but drank my after-exercise snack. What I ordered was a glass of red wine. To my happy surprise, the $5.50 wine was good and the glass was filled fuller than most stingy restaurants. My friends ordered tofu pad thai and something that stated with the word pan that had chicken in it. They also started with veggie rice-paper spring rolls. I know firsthand the food was good, because both girls insisted I try their meal - to see what I thought. What I thought was that each dish was delicious, even though I do not care for tofu (my fork can easily dodge it). When I posted a photo of our meal on FB, the restaurant got nothing but positive feedback from my friends. The restaurant itself was very clean and nice inside. We also found street parking easily. The next time I return, I will come hungry and order my own meal. And another large glass of wine :-)

I had soup, which was what I was craving, so I can't speak to the whole menu, but I will say the meat was dry and over cooked and the soup overall was lacking in some serious flavor. The Thai Coffee was great though and the waitstaff was nice and attentive.

I've eaten here twice, including again today, and both times I've gotten the Shrimp Pad Thai, which was really good. Great peanut sauce, too. Prices are reasonable by Portland's standards. $9.95 for shrimp pad thai. Service has been good. Today the waitress kind of messed up... I told her to make the pad thai mild, since I was splitting it with my 3 year-old, but it came with peanut sauce on top of the chicken portion (it was a "special"), which was quite spicy. I loved it, but my son couldn't eat it. So they re-made the chicken portion and didn't charge me for it, and it was a good-sized portion of chicken, too. The restaurant is nicely decorated inside and hasn't been busy at all when I've been there (5:30 pm on a weeknight and 1 pm on Sunday). I'd recommend it.

I've been coming to this place for a few years and I've never had a bad experience. I've had a lot of different items here and they're all delicious. Their soups are really tasty, their curries are great, and I love the beef skewers and the honey ginger duck. For $15, the duck is a steal. Boneless duck with super crispy skin and a great honey and ginger sauce. Love it. It also has cute decorations and I love the color scheme. The way the restaurant looks and the way the food is prepared you'd think that prices wouldn't be as low as they are. And the napkins are always folded into something fun. As for the service, the people are always really nice and attentive. This is a great restaurant, but it's never very busy whenever I'm there.

I really want to love this place. I work close by so I'm tempted to go there a lot since I love Thai food. Also, the owner and employees are super friendly. The prices are fairly high for thai food so you'd think the portion size would be awesome. Not so. The food is tasty most of the time, especially if you ask for medium or more spicy, but otherwise the food is just standard fare. I continue to be non-impressed.

Last week I ate way too much take out food so I had to try a new place and Thai PK had been recommended by a reliable source. It's not too far from me, just a hop, skip, jump away from Sellwood, at least by car. I stood outside reading the menu for a bit and a lovely young lady stepped outside and invited me in. I asked for recommendations on popular chicken curry dishes, she suggested the red or the massaman as especially popular selections. I choose the red and waited only a few minutes for my order to be freshly prepared. I also indulged with an order of Crispy egg rolls. I ate the egg rolls, yum, and set aside the curry for dinner. The egg rolls were crispy and tasty, vegi too. I loved that they did not need the accompanying sauce to be enjoyed. A few hours later I popped open the curry and rice containers and proceeded to enjoy the medium spiciness that I had requested. Again, yum. The chicken and eggplant were plentiful and the spices were lovely. It's still not the best Thai Cuisine I've ever enjoyed, but it is as good as it gets in Portland. I was glad I was not planning to dine in because although the dining area appeared spotless and quite large, the atmosphere was not anything especially appealing. I would recommend Thai PK as a great take out place, and a good place to dine in if you like tidy, neat open and airy places with lots of windows.

The food is very good and panang is our favorite! Be sure to ask for extra peanut sauce. They deliver free to the neighborhood, but often take longer than they estimate.. They do occasionally give us the wrong order, but bring the right one for free when we ask!

Knocked down a star for inconsistency. While the staff is as nice as ever, sometimes the food is incredible and other times it's just so-so.

I just came back to the Portland area after living in Boston for college. I've always thought of Boston as a foodie place, but in Boston I experienced a whole new array of dining in restaurants and with friends who cook traditional food. In particular I fell in love with Thai food. So when my mom and I happened to be near this place I got excited. My mom had never had Thai so I was excited to share it with her. At first look the decor and prices (about 1-2 dollars more than in Boston) I set the bar high. It gave the appearance of a fine restaurant. In fact, outside of the paper napkins and the weirdly warped and blank room separator-- I loved the decor. stars for that. Tell me the name of your designer. The stars kiinda stop there. The waitstaff was quick and courteous...mostly because there was only one other group in the restaurant. I commented to my mom about it actually. WHY was it empty 530 on a Saturday night? It wasn't a terrible location. Oh well, maybe people are out for the weekend. We quickly ordered Pad Thai (my fave), chicken for her and shrimp for me. We topped it off with a Crab Rangoon (2nd favorite) app. She loves crab so I thought she would like it. The waiter brought the appetizers out within 15 minutes. The appearance was nice. Not really amazing fine dining but cute. The wraps seemed nicely golden brown. There was a different sauce though so I was confused. I figured out that it was sweet chili sauce with a couple chunks of peanuts in it. I'm used to a different variety of sauces but it was okay. It was a little spicey.. not to bad. But then I bit into the crab rangoon and it was LOADED with black pepper. I like sweet chili sauce and the breading was good so I kept eating it but my mouth was overloaded with pepper (burning) I am not mean but I was curious if it was meant to be fusion or they were experimenting. I asked the waiter why there was pepper and I kid you not this was his response: "we use the pepper to enhance it and to make it smell better." I told him, "but I don't understand. it is completely overwhelmed by pepper and I can't taste anything but pepper. Its burnt my mouth a little. I don't taste crab at all." his response, "Well its imitation crab so you would not taste it anyway" :S JOKES!??! That's all fine except that you charged me 7 dollars for 4 of them, dude. It should taste pretty good at that price. I did not expect this place to cut corners. Whatever, I was mostly just trying to figure out why. I'm ready to get the Pad Thai. It came again very quickly but looked a bit weird. First off they gave us these fancy red chopsticks. I have never been given chopsticks at any of the MANY places I've eaten Thai. It was decorated with carrots and purple cabbage and of course with bean sprouts. No peanuts or lime? And it looked more brown than I had seen it before... The I tasted it. Now, there was no peanuts or lime so that changed the taste that I'm used to. But it literally taste like barbeque sauce! The shrimp were grilled(?)and still had the tails on them which was only mildly annoying/weird but they tasted grilled so it was weird. At first I though it was just a new take on it. But the BBQ sauce was hot and I wasn't warned about that. I know that some Thai food is spicey but NEVER had I had spicey Pad Thai. It just didn't taste good to me. So I had to tell the waiter, "I'm sorry but I am having trouble with this." I asked him what kind of sauce it was and why they didn't do traditional. He was VERY defensive. His answer was: Well you know some people like it a lot. I looked around... UHH there is no one in here! he and I argued a bit because I asked him, is this the way you would cook it? I'm sorry, I am not really mad but I just want understand why you would "enhance" something that already tastes good? Eventually the guy just said that he would take the food off (I hadn't really eaten it anyway). Sadly I watched him take the plate away. I'm used to getting a plate of heaping goodness that is too much and I can take home and tastes awesome cold!! :( My mom said that it was fine even though she agreed that it tasted like BBQ ( chicken ) and that it was too hot. She had left overs but did not take them. She was just being nice to him. I guess its okay that he didn't make me pay for it but really, I left feeling extremely unhappy about the food and feeling like the guy didn't care about whether I liked the food or really answer my questions about why the odd changes. Maybe this guy has to deal with this all the time. I'm sorry that he has to work at a restaurant that doesn't highlight the yumminess that is Thai food. If you want Authentic or even yummy Thai food i would not recommend this place. I'm actually SHOCKED that it has the ratings that it does.

The best salad rolls in the city! Their peanut sauce is delicious. The Thai Fried Rice with fresh crap is very good. Portions here are large so bring a friend to share

This place is REALLY good. I get the same thing every time because it's my favorite. Spicy pad Thai with tofu - and they make it spicy. Coconut shrimp is probably the best kind I've ever had, and the spring rolls are good, so are the crab rangoon. I think they might even use real crab in the rangoon.

Stopped in a few days ago with little time to spare. I was greeted quickly and service was prompt. I have my staple fave "Pad Thai". The lunch value was great and the peanut sauce A+. I was in and out without any delay and will be back again

I love Thai food and this place does it well. Although the food here is good, what i come here for is the dessert. They have an amazing pumpkin/warmed coconut milk dessert that is second to none. I have taken multiple people here for dinner and I would recommend giving this restaurant a try.

Excellent fish tank and large gold "Thai" sculptures. Also, they have an confusing step on the ramp into the side door. Always open / never busy...wonder why? I don't!

This place is not what it used to be. First of all, what Asian restaurant charges for refills on tea? I paid $1.50 PER CUP of basic Thai tea. Ridiculous. The pad thai was forgettable. It was an overcooked mush of noodles and I found two hard pieces in there that appeared to be chicken bone fragments. Service was average but once we had the bill on the table we had servers check 5 times if we had placed payment inside. We did not overstay our welcome (1 hr) and only 3 other tables were occupied, but it was clear we were being rushed to pay and go. Sad to say I will have to cross this restaurant off my list.
