This is what happens on New Years Eve (or any respectable holiday, really): You celebrate with the boozies and sleep in late. When we finally got the energy to get up and find some grub, it was later than we had thought. We roll in to Dutch and while our coffee is steaming, the barista asks us what we're up to. "Breakfast," I say, and she looks at me strangely, telling me it was awful late for breakfast. I check my clock, and it was past noon. Eek! Our first choice was Toast, but seeing it was closed, we knew we'd have to go to a mediocre chain that we knew would be open. So we hop on over to Milwaukie Marketplace for some good ol' Shari's, instead of Taco Bell. We were seated at a cramped two-person booth (they were pretty full), and ordered food. My poached eggs were actually pretty awesome, and so was my English muffin (but really, how can you go wrong with toast?), but I could have done without the not-crispy-bacon and the stuffed hash browns that were basically browns with sour cream (and I LOVE my browns). Also, I wasn't really surprised, but they were kind of spendy, for a ghetto place, you know. My breakfast was around $9.50, and granted that was a lot of food, but I could have gotten something much tastier and with better quality someplace else. You get what you expect at Shari's, but hey...it's open New Years Day....

If you really really enjoy butter, Shari's is your place. It seems like everything is cooked in massive amounts of butter. We came in the other night and I had a Belgian waffle that was pretty flavorless, seemed like it had been taken off the waffle press a little too soon. The eggs and hashbrowns were like solid butter. Service was good, as was the people watching, but I think my arteries are still angry at me for subjecting them to the food.

OK yeah ... I don't know what we were thinking ... we were trying to go somewhere else for breakfast ... and it was closed ... we had no choice ... we were hungry ... hostess was rude thinking I cut off an old lady - but I really was there way before her ... she redeemed herself by being a super nice, attentive waitress ... so it turned out ok for a chain breakfast place.

I came here with my daughter last night to eat dinner. We waited a while to be seated which was unusual. I have come here several times with my family and had great service. Unfortunately this time they seemed understaffed, and were not as attentive. It was a long work day for me, and the check was a long time in waiting. I did want the free pie, but the service alone killed that mood for me. I was very disappointed with this location.

This was the worst experience I've ever had all around for any restaraunt. Ordered a steak dinner and chicken Cobb salad after asking waitress to take our order TWICE! APPEARANTLY TALKING TO "MANAGER" was more important at time. Long story short... Steak was rubber and had to chew each bite like it was going out of style. Chicken on salad was burnt hard and cold. Took salad back & got new one for it to be bathed in salt and cholesterol. I do NOT recommend this Shari's to anyone EVER!!

First time to Shari's in 6 years! WOWZA. Its the same thing...cute little 24hr diner. The food was good....service lacked a bit as I watched other tables get refills and my "date" get refills and my water glass was empty. This location for some reason was extremely cold. Not cold hearted but the wind against the windows and sitting by the windows was freezing. However...fairly clean and good food. You have to enjoy Shari's Pie too. OMG they are just to die for delicious!

I stopped eating here for a long time because of a bad experience I had at another Shari's. Once you had a really awful time you just don't go back at all, least that is how it is for me. I decided years and I do mean yrs later I thought I would give it a chance and it was better. It def. isn't my Ihop. I do find it a little odd that you still have to buy sides(bacon and eggs or something) with a waffle. I am not a breakfast eater so I guess I can bypass that most of the time. Service was fair as we went very early in the morning and the taste was ok.

I've been here a few times, it's your basic Shari's food, nothing exciting. This last time I felt basically ignored. I moved my glass to the edge of the table after about 5 minutes of waiting for the waitress to come by. Two waitresses, and I'm guessing the manager or assistant manager walked by and not one person asked if I wanted a refill. I finally had to ask someone if I could have one. I think I'll drive to Jansen Beach or Clackamas next time I'm craving Shari's.

Service was great. Blackberry waffle was amazing and the wait staff brought an adorable regular customer a piece of pie with a candle in it and sang her happy birthday! Love it!

We came in on a Saturday and had to wait for 10 min befor anyone said hello. After another 5 min we were dating in our seats. Then we. Had to wait for 15 min to have our order taken. Once the food came they screwed up the order. We had spent 57 min inside this restaurant before we had food at table. I would have expected this type of wait if they were busy but they were not! I will never come back here again!!!

Today's visit deserves 5 stars. My boyfriend ordered take out and I picked it up. I only had to wait long enough to decide what pie I would also be taking home. It's blackberry season FYI. So obviously I ordered a black wer cream (cheese) pie. Two people assisted in my order to make sure everything was correct. I was in and out in about 5 minutes. There is VIP parking for pick up too. Lots of geese hanging out in the empty creek bed, so it's always fun to check that out.

ok so we decided "hey, it's Sunday 4.30 and we want some food and pie." Well that was a horrible idea. After waiting about 10 min for menus, water, drinks we waiting a other 20 or so minutes to get someone to take our order. We actually had to get up to ask about getting our orders taken. Then began the long wait for our food. after about another 30 min wait all except one of our meals arrived. our waitress then went on to clean a table, ring in an order, ask another table about their order. We had to get up again and ask about the food to, what looked like, a manager. He went to the window and their was the food just waiting. We waiting for water and got some pie before heading out. Even checking out was a fiasco. Three swipes of the card (resulting in two authorizations) and a wrong reciept later. We finally left with a bad taste in our mouths.
