Diabetics at Pizza Hut
Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.
Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:
You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.
Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut
Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

Skip Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice as it contains a high amount of fat and the sodium levels are also very high. Avoid the desserts section completely to limit the fat and sugar intake. Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

If I were to take a pizza to an interview, this would be the one I'd choose. It's a thank-you pizza. It's a pizza for clients. It's a pizza for people who think they're too good for pizza. But, like with an interview suit, not so pretentious as to say "I spent too way too much on this pizza." Though you do spend a little more than you'd think. Do note: this location is not by-the-slice place after 5ish. Also parking is hard. Regardless, the Bybee Pizzicato is still a decent pizza version of dressing for middle-class success.

The bread for the paninis was amazing and so was everything inside of them. Can't really give a full review considering I didn't even have any pizza lol

Great place to have a slice while in Portland, the staff is great

Nu-mmy!! Very, very good pizza! Also love the fresh caesar salad, baked cookies, beer and wine, all of it. Fresh, yum, amaze. GO! It deserves better reviews than what you see here.

Just tried it out. Very busy Saturday night yet customer service was still great and the food excellent. Waited about 10 minutes for a table for 4 (2 adults/2 kids). Waitress was attentive, friendly and fast without making us feel hustled along. Lots of locals coming in for take-take out orders. Each staff member who passed us acknowledged us. We ordered a small cheese pizza for the kids - which they loved and they are tough to please pizza eaters. Cheesy with thin and chewy crust. Sauce tasted fresh made. They didn't skimp on the cheese either. Also ordered a 1/2 chicken apple sausage pizza (seasonal special) which was unique and a nice switch from the run of the mill "gourmet" types. Other half was the wild mushroom which was heavenly. Whole roasted garlic cloves, fresh yellow peppers, wild mushrooms (sautéed perfectly), cheese (Fontina I think), sautéed leeks, all atop a perfect crust. Atmosphere is casual but not too fast feeling. Nice wine and beer list as well, short but covers the bases well. Lots if great looking sandwiches and paninis that demand a return lunch visit as well as a host of other excellent sounding pizzas too. This will be the place for us for pizza. Loved it.

There aren't too many nice places in town where you can get a super-filling meal for around $10. Enter Pizzicato. Their salads are consistently amazing, my favorite being the Arugula Pear, with pears, baby greens, delectable candied walnuts, Gorgonzola, and a tangy vinaigrette. If you go the salad route, don't forget to get an order of foccacia bread--you get five toasty pieces topped with salty Parmesan with a side of either olive oil or marinara for a measly $1.25 (they give you so much bread, you could do only that for lunch and feel full). Top it off with a glass of reisling, and you've just gotten a dinner for about 8.50. If you want pizza, which is, of course, their claim-to-fame, be prepared to shell out a little more. However, it's definitely worth it. Their ultra-thin crust is always perfect and crisp, and they have a spectacular array of gourmet topping combinations. Try the Spicy Thai. With peanut sauce, garlic, peppers, chicken, and cheese, this is probably one of the most tasty and interesting pizzas I've ever tried. The people at this branch are also always very friendly, and provide excellent service. I hope this place sticks around for a long time to come.

Oh my! I love pizzicato! I started working at the salon next door about a year and a half ago. I go to pizzicato at least weekly of not more! Mainly because I walk into the back and smell their pizzas and can't help myself. I not only love the pizza, but the people who work there. It made me nervous when the old manager moved, but I absolutely love the new one just as much as the last! The pizzas, paninis, and salads are always great! The staff knows me by name, and they personalize my picky orders with a smile. They made me an egg salad sanchwhich when i was craving it which is not even on their menu! I would say try the Ashley special, which is the turkey panini add spinach, and ceasar with an added side of ranch and chicken on the side. Or convence them to make you a meatball pizza! I consider myself an unpaid employee who doesnt have to do the work. If you stand at the register and look to your left there is a note from me to them that they keep posted. I just love them! Try them out, get to know them, and I am sure you will love them too!

Justin is awesome. My first time in Portland and he was super friendly, fun and recommended the best places. Not to mention the food is amazing. Their monthly specials are great. The pizza is one of the best and the service is a blessing. Thank you for making my first taste of this city- amazing.
(5)Tim F.
Tried the puttanesca pizza. The crust was thin and crispy just the way I like it. The basil and parmesan topping really gave the pizza some pop. Also had the Chinese chip salad, with some tasty spicy Asian dressing. They also have a pretty good beer selection. I got the smores stout, and it was delightful.
(5)Heather S.
Pizzicato is our standard go-to pizza place. They have good pizza, especially monthly seasonal specials. We also love their arugula pear salad with gorgonzola and candied walnuts: it's amazing!!! Service is friendly and efficient. The one time they sent us home with the wrong salad, they called right back, and offered a new one in its place (with the option to keep the other salad). If you go for lunch, they have a sweet deal of a slice with a side salad (more than enough food!) for $7.50. They also offer delivery for the local area.
(4)J W.
Justin is awesome, he made our night. Delicious pizza and a great establishment with helpful and kind people.
(5)Michell H.
Excellent food and a great value! Delicious lunch for under $10. Service was quick and staff was very friendly!
(4)Julia S.
The pizza was decent, so was the salad. I had fond memories of a great Caesar salad there... but when I revisited it wasn't quite what I remembered. perhaps my college days caused me to remember things differently. The croutons were excellent (and let's be honest, croutons can make or break a salad experience) so three cheers to that. I also had a slice of meat pizza, and my experience with that still stings. No, literally, the peppers were like wild fire. But if you like spicy, that should appeal. This girl didn't read the board well enough to know that there were even peppers in there. I paid the price.
(3)Jacob M.
This small chain has been around Portland as long as I have, which was about 1999. I have been in the NW 23rd, Bybee and Division locations and always had great service and fresh flavorful food. In my personal opinion, puttanesca pizza and arugula pear salad are the way to go.
(5)Mark G.
We stopped in for lunch as we were in the Sellwood area. My wife had a pear and arugula salad and I had the meatball panini. Both were terrific. Service was friendly and prompt and price was very good value for a quick lunch. We are in Portland now and again but don't live there. Now I know there are a couple other locations. Definitely worth a stop, you won't be disappointed.
(4)Jenn T.
This place seems to be a chain restaurant around town. People talk about the great pizza around here and thus I decided to try it. We came right around 9pm and thought that they would've shoo-ed us away since closing is at 9pm, but they gladly sat us. We ordered a few different pizzas, one per person. I got the patate e prosciutto pizza. It was pretty yummy and I really liked the roasted potatoes on my pizza. The pizza came out pretty fast for a pizza place. As we just got our pizza, we noticed that they were starting to pack up shop for the night. Feeling bad that we were theyre last customers for the night and keeping them at work, we ate fast. The service here was really good and they ensured us that they weren't in any rush to leave and would gladly serve us till we were done. Top notch!
(4)Graham D.
Slow, expensive, and staff seemed douchy (night time). Yelp wants longer review. Blah blah blah blah blah.........
(1)Gary L.
Good pizza and good service ... had pepperoni slices ... very good ...love the crust and the pepperoni was not greasy like most places
(3)Lissa W.
Ordered a meatball panini and two slices of cheese to go from the Bybee location, got home to a portobello mushroom panini with peppers and pesto which I am unable to eat. Called and spoke with the Assistant Manager, Jennifer who offered to void my transaction.
(3)Cynthia M.
Great relaxed atmosphere and service with a smile! The food is pretty yummy too! My daughter had a pannini and I had the spinach salad. The veges were very fresh and our food dissappeared quickly. I totally recommend this place. We walked, so parking wasn't an issue, but parking is pretty awful. No by the slice after 5:30 :(
(4)R T.
I grabbed a bite in this less than ideal setting. Pizza was tasty but the place lacked any Sellwood charm.
(3)Andrew S.
Very good spot. Thin slice Pizza - Lots of variety, good for vegans. Great Salad Choices. And the Lunch Panini is also tasty - I get the Turkey
(4)Lily B.
Tried this pizza for the first time yesterday. Recently have moved to the area and wanted to find a good neighborhood pizza spot. For the price of the pizza, ($25), I was really hoping for something delicious. After picking it up and taking it home, realized it was extremely burnt. The crust was rock hard. I should have checked when I picked it up, but am definitely shocked they didn't remake it before giving it to me as a customer. What could have been a decent pizza turned out to be very disappointing. Won't be going there again.
(1)Rebecca P.
I ordered delivery and was really unimpressed with the quality, size and price of the pizza, as well as the breadsticks. By the time the pizza had arrived, it was already soggy and undercooked. I prefer crispy pepperoni, not greasy slabs of meat that cover the entirety of the slice. The breadsticks were incredibly bland, to the point of being almost flavorless. Two stars because despite my complaints, I ate it all. Thanks, compulsive over-eating!
(2)Rachel D.
I came in here for their $7.25 pizza + salad deal. So well worth it! You get a very large slice of pizza, that tastes very fresh. I ordered the puttanesca. If you like Mediterranean flavors, then this is definitely the pizza for you. It has olives on it (which I normally do not like), but it went with the pizza so well that I just ate them anyways. The portion size of the pear salad was pretty big for a lunch size portion and tastes just as good as it looks. My only complaint to that it has a bit too much dressing (already mixed in). Would definitely recommend this place!
(4)Kraff T.
This location is slipping down into the depths. Recently I ordered a Bianca pizza, an old standard not currently on the menu (why?) but still being made. Picked it up, brought it home, opened the box, and - voila! something TOTALLY different. Called them up, explained the situation, and made another trip to pick up the Bianca. Returned the pizza, this time checked to make sure I had the right thing (which shouldn't be necessary, really), got it home, and the bottom crust was hard as a rock. As in cardboard would have been more tender. I've been a customer from this location for years. No more. There are many more options for pizza in the area from places that make more of an effort to do things right.

Have you ever, in the heat of passion, called out the wrong name? Nope me either. I'm set because I usually don't know their name anyhow; at least their real name. Besides, if I can't kiss you, I'm not going to bother knowing what's on your birth certificate. But imagine that you cried out, in the midst of the deed, the WRONG name. And instead of being corrected, or smacked, you continued shouting out to Hazel, when truth be known, you were really screwing Tilly. And then, let's pretend it wasn't until after you married this person, years later, that you were alerted to your error. I imagine it would be very similar to (minus body fluid swapping) getting a ROTD, but the review was actually meant for another establishment. Guilty. The following review was for meant for Pizzacato. It somehow got posted for the Sellwood Pizza Kitchen, and got a ROTD. Neither are returning my calls. This is the review that was originally meant for Pizzacato: Pizza is like sex. Even when it's bad, it is still kind of good. Following this same line of skewed reasoning, Apizza Scholls would have to be considered a no holds barred Megan Fox, Angelina Jolie flesh & sweat sandwich romp. Dominos is the toothless $10 hooker from 82nd; it doesn't taste good but after a night of debauchery it does the trick. For me, Pizzacato has always been that semi attractive girl next door, the one you pass by on the way to work, maybe exchange a pleasant smile with, but doesn't normally make an appearance in your mind's fantasy playland where latex clad midgets, big breasted bimbos and Kim V's Mom get down and dirty on a daily basis. When she first moved into town, sure, we fooled around a little, but nothing serious. A quick slice here, a tossed salad there, but nothing regular. Nothing that kept me coming back for more. We eventually parted ways. I found other hand tossed partners and in the end she wasn't even in the running when needing a late night pizza booty call. The years have passed, but the other day, the TLB and I, desperate to expand our horizons and satisfy our culinary curiosities, decided to ring her up, invite her over for dinner, have some wine, put on some moves and see what happens. Well, let's just say since our last encounter, she seems to have added a few tricks to her repertoire. Behind the demure and understated exterior, was a buffet of goodness; a clean and inviting destination, offering some combinations not seen before and flavors that were above and beyond a typical one night pizza stand. We were both equally impressed and satisfied. Her number has since found its way into our little black book. I'm thinking we might just have to make her into a regular affair. In fact, I might have to see what she is doing this weekend. Maybe invite her over to watch the game, introduce her to some of my friends. I mean, it would be selfish not to share such a good thing with others, wouldn't it? And by the way...I don't do bad pizza, just bad pizza joints.

My wife was on hold for 10 minutes and hung up on twice. On the third call we were told the delivery would take an hour and a half to 2 hours. God bless the manager of this operation and his gracious underlings.
(2)Jessica S.
I came in here for lunch today. Their lunch special is awesome; you get a hefty sized salad and a slice of pizza. The service was fast and super friendly. Plus, I love the neighborhood.
(5)Pui S.
Not bad for a $3.25 piece of pizza (fresh grated parm too)! The glass of coke was kind of expensive but free refills!!! The staff even packed a to-go cup for me. So I guess it worth $1.75. Not bad pizza, GREAT customer service, clean bathroom & not cheap on refilling soda. A-OK for me! :)
(3)Clayton B.
The pizza was great, and the service was better. We had a lively conversation with our waitress, and when there was a drink mishap, they were very kind and helped us get cleaned up without a trace of frustration, even though it was the end of the night. Thanks for making this Minnesota family feel welcome in Portland.
(5)Adam M.
Definitely the best pizza in the neighborhood.. Quality ingredients, great crust, great sauce.. While not an extensive tap list, the ones they do have are great choices. The service is always fantastic. Friendly, attentive staff. Good with accommodating different requests. Definitely recommend this place!
(5)Brigitte L.
Delicious!!! Great, fast service. wonderful food and very clean restaurant. I love the candied walnuts on the arugula salad, they go so well with the pear and blue cheese!! The pizza crust is amazing and it's a great value for the large portions you get. Nice selection of beer and wine too.
(5)Todd M.
This is my go to kids meal place in our neighborhood. Personally, I can take it or leave it.. but the Nugget LOVES this place and therefore, we go several times a week, for carry out and eating in. The pizza is good.. salads are good, beer is good. What's great is that we can always get a seat and be eating within a few minutes and that makes the little monster happy, which makes me happy. Yay, I'm a fan.
(4)Shawn R.
As a New Yorker, pizza in Portland is generally bread, sauce, and cheese; yes, they seems to be the right ingredients, but the result is usually not what I consider pizza. Pizzicato does a decent job hitting high marks consistently. The Bybee location is super clean, family friendly, great lunch specials, and over the last year they started delivery after 5pm. Pizzicato is a great Sellwood pizza establishment and I suggest you give them a try.
(4)Deanna N.
You know I didn't like for some time, but recently I tried the capaccola pizza and well I felt like I was in Italy just from the meat alone. I hope it becomes a regular menu. And their Caesar salad is one of the better in town and I've had a lot of Caesars in this town and in Mexico. So now they have free delivery, pizza is gourmet expensive so good its free! Not a fan of re-heated lunch slices.
(3)Jon J.
The food is decent but customer service can be subpar. An ongoing issue that has finally caused us to give up on Pizzicato: We are accustomed to pre-ordering a gluten-free pizza by phone for our two young kids when we eat pizza out, so that they don't have a 20 minute wait at the table when blood sugar is already invariably low. Pizzicato management evidently forbids pre-ordering by phone, which makes no sense given that they would gladly accept a delivery or take-out order. Sure, we could order a pizza for pickup and then simply say we had changed our minds and would be eating in. I resent being put in a position where i have to lie in order to reach a perfectly reasonable outcome. I'm sure this policy makes sense to management for some reason, but it shows a disregard for customer satisfaction that we can no longer support. RESPONSE TO PIZZICATO REPLY: Thanks for responding. I understand your reasons for this policy but would like to point out that nobody would be breaking rules by pre-ordering if you in fact allowed pre-ordering. Rudy's and Hot Lips allow pre-ordering, and we have never had a problem with this solution at either place. Of course we understand the risk that there might not be a table available, as we do any time we choose to go to a restaurant. Again, the obvious workaround to your policy is to order for takeout and then simply decide to eat in the restaurant. We have not used that approach and won't, but it's an easy workaround that illustrates the silliness of the rule. Best regards.

We dropped into Pizzicato last night, dead hungry and looking for a nice, simple late meal. The atmosphere was refined and the severs were very very friendly and competent. As it was close to closing, they were not serving slices, but they were happy to whip up a couple of panini with salads. I had a cheese and tomato panini and the ingredients were very fresh, subtly spiced, and perfectly cooked. She had a meatball sandwich, which she liked, the serving size was just right for her (read: not ginormous). She did say that the tomato sauce was "kind of ordinary, mild." For me, as a big guy, the portion was more like snack size, but it was just right for the situation. Overall, five stars for the wait staff, freshness of food, and for them not minding that we came in less than 1/2 hour before closing. Prices are good. Not outstanding food, but certainly well above the norm and a worthwhile place to visit. They stay open relatively late for the area. Anyone know why everything in Sellwood-Moreland closes so early? Is it just that it's winter? Kind of a small town feeling there. Not complaining, just curious.

Ordered pizza for pickup, checked in and paid, was told 5 more minutes. They put the pizza on top of the oven and never bothered to let me know it was ready until 20 min later when i asked them. Next time called for delivery at 415. Was told they dont start delivering until 5 and it would be on the first load out. Called at 530 and was told they got swamped and it would be another 25 minutes. Im very mellow and both times they acted like i was being high maintenance for even inquiring about the status. Incompetent.

Ate here a couple times. Had 3 different pizzas that were not your typical kinds of pizzas. One had goat cheese and shrimp and yellow bell peppers and other good stuff. Another was a pepperoni with salami and this good sausage. And there was another one with chicken. I recommend them. Gd good for pizza delivery.

I'm rewriting my review, because I know businesses rely on ratings and I wanted to be more clear on why I gave it 3 stars, and have kept my rating the same after a few visits, which means I'm still going back- mainly because of the great coupons- 2 for 1 in the Chinook Book! The first time I went there, they told me to pick up in 20 minutes. We go there and we waited another 30 minutes. They'd forgotten about it completely. In the end, they seemed to have rushed it, and the bottom of the pizzas were a bit wet/ soggy. They did give us a coupon for a free pizza, though. The second time, the pizza was on time, but again it wasn't super crisp like you expect. I've never eaten there, so maybe the problem is with take-out orders? The 3rd and 4th time someone else got orders to go, and they came out better, but there is something missing in my opinion. For the same price, without the 2 for 1 coupon, I generally choose another place where I know the quality is consistent. When I have a 2 for 1, I'm more willing to risk a little sogginess. With all that in mind, it seems that some people are very happy with them and go back over and over. The place is usually packed. I'll probably use the other 2 for 1 I have and hope for the best. I have been craving pizza, so stay tuned.

Pizzicato or pizzasoggo? Seriously I know it is quality ingredients but when its on a soggy crust you should have just ordered a salad. I'm sorry this just isn't good. Try il fornaio on Alberta or the muddy rudder on Tacoma. Both excellent pies.

I would love to renew my review if possible. The service is outstanding. Pizza is my comfort food so I tend to go when I have a bad day. The service and food is great everytime so its guaranteed to cheer me up. They always give me an extra full glass of wine and go above and beyond. Best neighborhood pizza place ever!

I have come to this Pizzicato tens of times on multiple occasions and never had a bad experience. I typically spent $6.95 on a soda, a slice of pizza, and a salad for lunch which gets you plenty of food. Overall, I think this is the better of the Pizzicato locations compared to Beaumonts and PDX especially. This place is good for larger groups and kids and the price is a little more affordable than other options. The ingredients are usually quite good. The crust is a little chewy, the cheese is often light (the best part of their pizza in my opinion) and the sauce is good. My favorite salad is the arugala pear salad because of the excellent dressing and the walnuts and pears and greens. I am not a blue cheese fan though but the salad is good enough to look past it. This is a restaurant has withstood the tests of time and that says something because poor restaurants do not last long in Sellwood/Moreland.

Best Asian Pear salad around! Small is plenty for two people to split. Pizza is always fresh and delicious.

I cannot tell you how much I love the gluten free pizza here-so mouth watering and savory! It's accompanied by probably the best slice of customer service I've ever experienced! Everyone from the counter guy to the guy who made our pizza stopped by to see if it was good. They cleared our table, mentioned that the paninis can be made gluten free as well, and in general, rocked it!! WOW! Stellar customer service experience!

This is me second review I have given them but it they do deserve another 5 stars! Many of the old crew moved to other locations and also up in the company so I had lost a large amount of the regular crew. I was a little bummed until I met all of the new people there! I love them just as much as the old crew! They take such good care of me and are so patient with me when I take a while with my order. I had let them know about an unfortunate event where one of the girls I work with threw away my salad that I was saving for myself in the fridge the day before. I hadn't even taken one bite out of it! She just threw it away!! O was so angry and upset at her for doing that. They came to my rescue, and made me my favorite salad as a replacement. The fact that they love and care about their customers so much makes me so happy! It is like I am re falling in love with them all over again. Double thumbs up!! :D

This is my FAVORITE of all the Pizzicatos. There is table service at this one. The staff is amazing and always go the extra mile. I think I like them even better than the pizza. The pizza is pretty good.....the arugula pear salad is the best salad I've eaten in this city.

Since I've come to Portland, I haven't been too impressed by the selection of pizza. Everything I've come across is bad in one aspect or another. Pizzicato is perhaps the best of the worst, but it's miles ahead of the worst. The atmosphere in the restaurants is always a little too fancy for what they're doing, but the people at this location are nice, unlike the douchebags at the Murray-Scholls location. Good job, you work at a pizza chain in Beaverton. You're so cool. Please, grace me with your service. The pizza itself is always pretty good. The crust is pretty good, though not super great. I always get slices, which apparently is a good idea because their pizzas are expensive and supposedly smaller than they should be. I had a slice of the Di Pollo one day, and was really impressed that they put whole cloves of roasted garlic on the pizza. So that was awesome. Tried the Puttanesca last time I was there too, also pretty excellent. The salads are a little more hit or miss though. The Chinese Chop is okay, not great. The Greek salad is wonderful. The Caesar leaves much to be desired, however. This location is my favorite of the three I've been to so far. The people were super nice, which seemed like a welcome change from the ones I've been to prior.

Just not a fan of Pizzicato Pizza...we have been quite a few times and just don't care for the pizza. Give me a great PIE like you can get in NYC...hard to find in PDX but I know it is not Pizzicato...salads are fine. bit on the pricy side for many people.

Our new favorite pizza place! Interesting, fresh, friendly. We all had a great time and loved our meals. PLENTY for leftovers.

This location is actually not Sellwood but Westmoreland. Glad we cleared that up. Pizzicato has had great pizza and salads from the get go. This location is closest to our hovel but the new shop on Division by Mt. Tabor is pretty neat, too. The food is (almost) always great. The pizzas are spendy but fresh and gourmet come at a price. The salads are generous and creative (fave is the spinich with grilled shrimp added). They also serve tasty sandwiches (try the black forest ham with fontina, they serve it hot--slurp!) Their garlic aeoli sauce is great on both the sandwiches or as a side for dipping your bread. They offer a nice selection of beers and wines by the glass or pitcher/bottle. The best part of this location for us is two long-time servers, David and Rose. These folks are professional, warm, friendly, helpful (they know that menu well and the wines), they remember the regulars by name (and where you went on vacation, what you're studying at school, etc) and they are both assests to this company. Service on other evenings, day hours and weekends is, sadly, hit-and-miss. We only visit on Tues and Thurs evenings because we know Dave and Rose will be in the house to treat us right. Good to know: This location only offers table service after 5:00 P.M. Parking can be tight in this neighborhood--try the public lot one block north on Milwaukie or there are plenty of spots on the residential side streets. You can call ahead for take-out and they offer half-baked pizzas to finish heating at home (allow plenty of time, especially on the weekend). Insider Tip: Grab a frequent visitor slice or pie card at the front and get your stamps saved up on each visit to earn a free pie/slice. YUM! Update 8/23/10: Rose is now only there on Wednesdays but David's in house at least 5 nights per week--thanks for all the good dinners, guys! Update 6/4/2015: Dave and Rose are both long gone, all servers have changed many times over, new management, new look to the interior, they now deliver and they have featured menu items monthly. They now offer salad stamp cards as well as pizza. We dearly miss our favorite servers but we'll keep coming back for the good food.

Pizzicato is really great. The crust is fantastic and the toppings are delicious. One slight problem is the pizza is kind of greasy. Be prepared to have to blot the grease off. But, aside from that...so good. When Paul brought home the slices I was initially super ticked because they had stacked his pepperoni slices on top of my veggie slices only separating them by one sheet of tin foil. After spending about ten minutes complaining and pointing out possible areas on my slices where they may have been tainted by meat I then proceeded to spend an additional ten minutes blotting off any possible meat grease. When I finally ate the slices they were so good. I loved the puttanesca slice that I got. It had tomatoes, artichokes, olives, feta, and garlic on it. So very delicious, I really loved it. Paul loved his pepperoni slices, they looked so greasy though! His stomach was pretty upset about an hour later, I wonder if it was because he didn't de-grease his slices? My stomach was a bit upset too! Although in my case it is highly possible it is just because I was convinced rogue pepperoni grease was attacking my insides so, who knows???

I have had Pizzicato in Encinitas, California and Portland, Oregon. They are both different and delicious. The one in Enci has pesto pasta, but the one in Portland has gluten-free pizza (if ordered in medium or larger).

I have eaten at many Pizzicato restaurants around the area, everytime its always the same great pizza. Amazing salads and bread that is not plain and dry. I can't say enough about how awesome the pizza is. I have never had bad service and i go here at least once every two months.

Whenever I head over to antique row in Sellwood, I always stop in to this Pizzicato location for a quick slice of pizza and a side salad. The arugula pear salad with candied pecans is one of my favorites. There are several Pizzicato locations around town, but this spot is one of my favorites. It has a comfortable neighborhood feel and caters to families in the area. If I lived in Sellwood, I am sure this would be one of the places I would end up going to on a regular basis.
