It doesn't get much simpler than this... Ping-Pong Tables and a Bar. Had an awesome time having some drinks and playing a casually competitive game of two-on-two ping-pong with some friends. I think the real beauty of this place is that you don't have to worry about tracking down a ping-pong ball after each point. There's a sack of balls (junior high joke intended) at each table that's get replenished like every 10 mins by the staff so you can just keep playing and drinking uninterrupted. Not much to it, a cool place to hang out and have a drink without the monotony of sitting at a bar. Five Star experience from me.

This is the type of business that makes you wish you thought of it. Brilliant location just steps from multiple bars and restaurants, Pips & Bounce is a fun atmosphere. Didn't have any food here but the pizzas looked good. Full bar and drink prices were good. I'm sure there are people out there who play really well, but let me tell you -- ping pong is the best thing in the world when you've had a few drinks and you're playing really really bad. $8 for 30 minutes seemed like a pretty good deal for all the laughs we had.

Excellent spot for a night of fun. Clean and friendly atmosphere of people. Food and drinks were great. Place was not too dim or creepy but not too bright. It was just right. If you're a local or a tourist, I highly recommend this little joint. Cheers

Not a restaurant or bar. I just want to say that right away. We went here based on yelp stars but didn't read the reviews much and thought this place was for food and drink. It is ACTUALLY a ping pong hall that happens to serve food and cocktails. Ok so we made a reservation for a table ahead of time, played ping pong, ate food which was pretty yummy, and drank decent cocktails. But were pretty pissed to find out that our ping pong cost $40 for one hour plus the cost of food and drinks. So two ppl came to over $100! Apparently they charge you double if u make a reservation! So u basically are punished for not being a walk in. We questioned the bill and they explained ping pong is twice as much when you call ahead. What a joke!

if you enjoy ping pong, this is the place to go - this is a true ping pong paradise with lots of tables, paddles and balls! lots of BALLS! this means you don't need to run around after someone hits it badly. they stock up baskets full of balls so you just concentrate on your game. they have food here but, haven't tried yet. drinks are available as well to either improve or impede your play. it's fun and if you enjoy ping pong than their monthly membership is the way to go.

"Woohoo! As good as it gets" I can not imagine a cooler place to hang out in PDX. IT has a plethora of table tennis tables, when we went around 6pm on a Saturday, and we had not problem finding a table. You can rent tables by the 30 minute or 60 minute window. And, I believe they even have a happy hour (That I think is about $2/hr cheaper)--you might want to verify that before you check it out ;-) Also, they have good beer, and an excellent taproots. Also, they have excellent food! We got the green pizza and it had the spot, the pesto was not sharp, it had really good flavor, and the cheese was melted just right. I can't wait to go back!

The people here were helpful and know their sport. The champion table was solid and the fun atmosphere added to the overall appeal. I didn't get to eat here, but the food smelt great. I expected this placed to be packed, but it was actually pretty quiet. Overall, this is a good place to throw down in ping pong. The bar section was well rounded and a full kitchen make this a fun group outing.

A lot of people compare Austin to Portland but you know one thing Austin doesn't have? An awesome ping pong! With so much to see and only a few days in Portland, my traveling partner and I still chose to visit Pips & Bounce two days in a row. If you love ping pong then you'll love this place and if you don't love ping pong but you just want something new to do while drinking with your friends then you'll also love this place. The drinks were surprisingly strong, which after a while made our ping ponging deteriorate. Our balls were flying off the table. But fear not! You don't have to stop your match and go chase down your own balls...they have people for that. They walk around with this little ball scoop and put the balls back in the conveniently located baskets. Amazing! We had so much fun at Pips & Bounce. +1 Portland...

I have mixed emotions. The ping pong is cool, but everything else falls short. The food is tiny and flavor is kind of bland. The cocktails are good, but not great. It's a fairly new place, so maybe they will improve as they start settling in. I think the concept is great though.

I haven't played ping pong since I was a little kid and was happy when I stumbled upon this place on yelp. I came with a group of 6 at 8PM and it was a good thing that we came before 9PM when they become a full bar because it also got a lot busier. At 8PM there were still plenty of tables left and we took a walk-in table for $10 per 30min. Yelp check-in offer gave us 50% off too. If you don't want to wait for a table, you can reserve one for $39 per hour. My friends and I had a lot of fun and played for about an hour. Ping pong is also a lot more fun when you have food and alcohol available and I'll definitely come back.

With your first steps inside, you can tell that Pips and Bounce is a bar that evolved from a passion for ping pong. You don't have to be a pro to enjoy hanging out here though. You don't even have to play ping pong, because this place has created a fun atmosphere to just hang out in. They have thirteen tables, a full bar/menu, and an upstairs part where you can watch people play. Oh, and did I mention black light ping pong? The menu and drinks are creative and tied into the sport. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. My only complaint is that the food can be a bit pricey for what you actually get. I recommend this place to lovers of the game or beginners wanting to learn or watch while drinking some delicious beverages.

Great concept! Another addition to all the awesome indoor things to do in Portland. Great place to hang out with friends, get some drinks and bites to eat. There are people to pick up your ping pong balls while you play..how cool is that! Place is clean and owners are very friendly. We are also a part of their every Wednesday ping pong league and thoroughly enjoy it!

What a fun idea! We had great drinks while playing ping pong. They have these fun nets that pick up all the ping pong balls.

This place is so hipster...but in a good way, the staff was friendly and the man who greeted us gave us a rundown on how things work. If you want to play, its $10 every half hour for a table and if youd like to grab a beer, you can even charge your tab for the fee to play. Bar service and food service are both in the same area and if you order food they hand you a numbered flag in order to track you down for the food you ordered. The environment was lively and fun with a twist of chaos of friends playing ping pong everywhere. This was my first time and wont be my last. Another awesome perk they have is the movies they were playing on the tv screens. On one side it was beverly hills cop with eddie murphy and then another was bad boyz with will smith, that really made my night. TL:DR hipster in a good way, sweet environment, old school feel

This is a great place to go in a large group or to have a party. The atmosphere is fun and lively, and the excellent cocktails and food menu make it all the better. The staff is friendly and impressively diligent when it comes to picking up all the wildly bounced ping-pong balls, and they'll oftentimes let you go over your allotted table time if there isn't anyone waiting. Highly recommended.

TABLE TENNIS BAR. Because Billiards isn't just that fun anymore. Definitely a fun place. You don't need to be a skilled ping pong player, you can go in there and mess around.

A bar dedicated purely to lovers of ping pong? I found my utopia! Pair that with amazing cocktails and good food and you've got yourself a great time! A bit pricey at $8 per 30 mins and I wish we didn't have to wait but at least the turnover is fast. Be prepared to get hit with tiny white balls and don't come if you're not here for the sport. It's not the kind of bar to sit and chitchat unless you're waiting to play. Game on!

Great concept. Good food, good beer and a game of ping pong! Very friendly and knowledgable owners. Came in on my own, and Mike (him and his brother own the place) offered to play a little friend game. Haven't played in a long time - was great fun! Well done!

This place has a lot of balls to open in PDX. Literally they have thousands of ping pong balls. The best part is that when you miss a shot you can just grab another ball out of the bucket. Good beer select and great pizza. I'll go back again soon.

Such a great place to hang out after dinner with some friends and have a few more drinks. They really nailed the Ping pong bar concept. Love the decor. Friendly staff. It's also a great venue for parties as they have a section they can close off. Would definitely go back with friends!

I could hang out here all night every night. Combines everything I love, and has an atmosphere that's easy to meet people in. They even shag the balls for you (keep it clean, I meant you don't have to chase the ping pong balls all the time :-) The only thing I'd change is more beers on tap. Do that, you get yer fif star mister.

This place is the total package for fun with friends! Great atmosphere and customer service done right. We arrived a little before 8pm and were told there would be about a 15 minute wait for a ping pong table and that we could wait at the bar. We got drinks promptly and waited for the rest of our group. 15 minutes later one of the co-owner's approached us and escorted us to our table. He was very friendly and engaging, he even hung our jackets for us! We played for several hours. Throughout, the servers checked in with us constantly and once we decided to order food, it was delivered promptly. And let me tell you what, the food was phenomenal. We got the veggie Flatbread and it was better than many pizza joints in Portland. This place was just flat out awesome. I wish all restaurants/establishments in Portland would take a page out of their customer service play book. I hope these guys are in business for a long time because we intend on going back frequently. Great job guys!

This place has great atmosphere and is a whole lot of fun! The food and drinks are tasty and the owners are really nice. The price to get in is less than competitor businesses that I've been to in other states. We celebrated my friend's birthday here and everyone had a blast! Highly recommended!

Very disappointing customer service here tonight. I ordered a salad. 25 minutes later, the server came over to say they were out of all the salad dressings except Caesar (my salad was listed as having a vinaigrette). I reordered for hummus: "cucumber, tomato, feta, olives, & warm flatbread" per the menu. Instead what arrived was carrots, broccoli, cucumber, and flatbread. What? When I asked the server, she shrugged and said that's what they had tonight, and walked away. Not excited to patronize this place again if they can't stock what they advertise or bother to tell their customers what IS there prior to a long wait. UPDATE The owner contacted me immediately after I posted this apologizing for the situation. I always appreciate businesspeople who are attentive to their reviews and wanted to give him a shout out here for that.

Really fun place because of the ping pong. The food is decent. The bartenders aren't the best. They don't seem to enjoy their job or want to be there. Wish they were a little bit more helpful in explaining what there is to drink. They just stood there and stared at me while I was trying to figure out the drinks. Would've appreciated some help in knowing what they had/what they recommended.

Tons of people on a Saturday night, but doesn't feel over crowded and the wait wasn't that bad at all! A great atmosphere and the bartender Chris is phenomenal!!

Pips & Bounce gives you exactly what you need in your life: some good, old fashioned Ping Pong (in a bomb-ass environment with high quality tables - one of which is LED - and a killer playlist) paired with booze (yes please to the beers on tap!) The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They will happily discuss which food items will pair best with the beer you're choosing, or will make good suggestions as to where you should take your night next. The facilities are clean, the shirts they sell are soft, and quite frankly, I want to return ASAP but I unfortunately live in New York City and it's kind of a long way to get there. Do yourself a favor and take your next date there while simultaneously impressing them with your paddle ~skills~ as you whip their butt in Ping Pong!

We rented the corner suite for my husbands 30th Birthday party, and had such a great time!!! The Staff at Pips and Bounce was absolutely amazing! Sandy was very helpful when making the reservations, and was super great about my last min catering adds. The drinks were delicious, and I know all of our friends had a super good time. We will definitely be going back!!!

I am spending the week in Portland and wanted to find a place with a nice chill atmosphere, fun activity and good food. this place has all of it. the pizza was great. well made dough and Pepperoni's, good whiskey selection and our whole group of 6 got to play ping pong for $8 per talk hour. great place.

I stopped into this place randomly one afternoon because I assumed it was associated with Pip's on Fremont, since they use similar fonts, colors and the word "Pips". It's not, it's a ping pong place. I looked at their menu which is actually very reasonably priced, unlike their ping pong, which seems ridiculous - $10 for 30minutes? In many bars you can play pool for like 3 hours for a dollar. I did end up ordering a salad and it was very good, they used good ingredients and the guy who served me was a super legit, nice guy. If you can't play ping pong in your parent's garage and can't find a church basement anywhere, then go to this place for ping pong. If you're in the area and you want some decently priced food, you could go here. Although you'll probably have to eat it on your lap because they only have 2 tables you can actually sit and eat at. The rest are benches or ping pong tables. It's a weird place. They seem to be angling for membership, which is $40/month. That just seems ridiculous to me, but I don't play ping pong all the time, and when I do it's for free at Jason's stepdad's house, so the concept of blowing $10 on 2 seconds of ping pong seems insane. Like paying $15 to sit in a heavily chlorinated hot tub with elderly naked men or paying $1300/mo for a studio apt. But different strokes for different folks. The face of Portland is changing, and this place will probably do well.

The food was solid bar food. Had the "tacos". Not much to them, but they satisfied my appetite. The staff is really friendly and eager to help. The Ping pong was great. You can suck and still have fun.

Great food, a full bar and all the ping pong you could want. All the staff members are friendly and the owners will make you feel very welcome. A great, family friendly addition to Portland.

Pong and pints make for a very fun and a one of a kind experience you'll not find anywhere else, at least that I know of west of the mighty Mississippi. The only place I've been to that combined more than a ping pong table for kicks was the Standard in NYC where they had upwards of 20 pong tables but it is truly a beer hall catering to college age kids and packed, kids are definitely not welcomed there. At Pips and Pounce kids of all ages are welcomed and from what I could tell are catered to also. Short wait times for a table if at all and while you are waiting great place to watch all skill levels play and enjoying their time too. Bright, airy, festive, friendly and loads of fun for all. Oh, and the food was top notch also. Check it out!

Out of the box! Chill out with friends or meet someone new, this venue is all about just having a great time with charming people. I was surprised they had food, which was really tasty. Menu is a little pricey, but business is new so maybe they're feeling things out. Overall, very awesome place. Loved the staff and owners are very nice.

Tons of fun. High quality tables and equipment mean this is way better than your friends basement table with all that dust and pealing paddles. Great food (enjoyed the meat board and flatbread) tasty and large drink selection and lovely staff. It's great not having to worry about chasing balls thanks to the ball boys and girls that take care of it all for you. We will be back!

Met up with friends for a little competitive fun and a good time was had by all. We were greeted at the door by the owners (2 brothers) and given a quick run down of how table time works. We were promptly directed to a table where we got our game on. Not long after a waiter came by to take our orders, I had a solid old fashioned, nothing fancy but a fair price for a well made classic. As another reviewer mentioned, they come by and continually corral the stray balls so you get to focus on the game with a never ending basket of balls to work with. When our 30 minutes were up we put our names back on the list, talked a bit and before we new it, we were back on a table for round 2. Our friends have a little one and it was nice to be able to include them without it being a full on daycare atmosphere like other kid friendly drinking establishments. We did not eat so I cannot comment on the food but the atmosphere was great and I look forward to coming back soon. Great idea, fun space, good times.

What a fun place that is obviously a labor of love. The tables are easily the nicest tables I've ever played on and the generous baskets of balls within easy reach of each player guarantee that you're not spending most of your time chasing balls.

A fun and different way to spend an evening. They have awesome tables, good paddles, and best of all: a zillion ping pong balls! You literally never have to bend over to pick up a ball because there are big baskets of balls everywhere. Good music too and tasteful ping-pong ball shaped ice cubes in their drinks.
